515 Project One powerboat by Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing is unveiled at 2018 Miami Boat Show

Mercedes-Benz recently published an AMG Project One teaser, and just by hearing those words, I am pretty sure that we got you excited. But here is the thing, it wasn’t a teaser of a hyper car this time, but a boat instead - or should we say hyper boat?

This boat is not like any regular boat out there, but it can be more accurately described as a Cigarette Racing offshore powerboat. It has been inspired by the impressive Mercedes-AMG Project One. The good news here is that we have been given full disclosure on this boat, and we are telling you now that it isn’t like your regular seagoing yacht that has an automaker’s badge but cannot perform. In fact, this is quite the opposite of that. With over 51 feet in length, this model is packed with carbon fiber, and can do 140 miles per hour (225 kilometers per hour) on water.

This boat is called the Cigarette Racing 515 Project One. It does not have the hypercar’s monstrous engine but that is completely fine with us. In fact, the Mercedes AMG Project One’s 1,000 horsepower engine will not get the boat anywhere near 140 miles per hour, and that is why this water borne Project One has been equipped with a pair of Mercury Racing quad-cam V8 engine that brings out 1,350 horsepower (1,006 kilowatts) each.

Aston Martin AM37S luxury speedboat heads to Monaco Yacht Show

Aston Martin and Quintessence Yachts are finally done building the AM37 after endlessly teasing us with mere renderings of their speedboat. They initially made two examples of the vessel in which one is finished in Ocellus Teal exterior with Ivory cabin while the other one is in Diavlo red with a cream leather interior. The third one is said to be already under production but we are not sure when or where it will make its first voyage. Aston Martin plans to make only ten of these annually which should cost around $1.6 million apiece.

Arriving at Monte Carlo for the 4-day event are two bespoke examples of the speedboat which will be featuring a 15-inch touch screen, a foldable swim platform and touch-screen operated sliding lightweight carbon-fiber panels. While Quintessence Yachts hails from the Netherlands, the AM37 is being manufactured and produced near Southampton England to be closer to Aston Martin’s British heritage. The Monaco boat expo is currently being held and runs from September 27 to 30.

The AM37S or the top model is equipped with a pair of Mercury Racing’s 520hp gas-fueled engines (388kW) producing a combined output of 1040hp or nearly the same output as Aston Martin’s Valkyrie with 1130hp. There are two other engine options in which the mid-range model gets a pair of 430hp (321kW) gas-fueled Mercury engines while the standard vessel shall receive a pair of diesel powered 370hp (276kW) engine.

Amazing buy: Get the Verde Singh Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster with a matching catamaran

The Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster may be the fastest car out there, capable of reaching 60 miles from standstill in just 2.8 seconds, plus having a top speed of 217 miles per hour. But where will the Aventador end up if it runs out of road to drive on? We all know that the planet is made up of 70 percent water.

Well, that doesn't seem to be a problem. If you have the money to get yourself that roadster, you sure can afford a speedboat to pair with it. There is a listing on JamesEdition in Fort Lauderdale of a Lambo Aventador SV Roadster with a matching catamaran. And yes, they really do have matching colours.

Just like the roadster, the catamaran was customized to look like it is the supercar's big brother. The 52-foot MTI G6 has been finished with a Verde Singh shade paired with Alcantara upholstery, and of course the carbon fiber trim. And that's not all, as the speedboat comes with a steering wheel, marinized switchgear, door panels, and lighting from the Aventador - literally the works.

New Toyota Ponam-28V Boat is Powered by a Land Cruiser Motor

Toyota revealed that the latest version of its Ponam boat range will be a 28V sports cruiser and it will be powered by the same engine that powers the Land Cruiser.

Specifically, it will be the same 4-cylinder 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine that is fitted in the Land Cruiser Prado SUV as well as the Hilux pickup truck. However, for the Ponam-28V, the motor has been tuned to adapt it for marine use and thus, it displays an output of 256 horsepower (191 kW). While Toyota declined to reveal the actual top speed, the light weight means that it could go through the water at possibly high knots.

Since the control system is based on the same system used by cars, it makes the Ponam-28V easy to navigate in calm waters or even in coastal areas where it is originally designed to be in. Fitted to it is a virtual anchor to make sure that the boat is maintained on a fixed point.

The French have come to be known as some of the fanciest people in the face of this planet. Call it stereotypical but we’ve seen how these people have valued style, aesthetics and their love for art. Almost anything and everything French is as impressive as can be so it’s not a surprise that Blue Coast Yachts, a France-based shipyard, was able to pull off an equally sophisticated trimaran.

For those not familiar with ship and sailing terms, a trimaran is a multihull boat or yacht that is made up of a main hull with two smaller outrigger hulls (called floats) attached to it via a set of lateral beams. These yachts are most commonly used for recreational purposes as well as racing, and quite a few of them as ferries and warships. Recently, Blue Coast Yachts showed the world their latest project – a 60-meter Power Trimaran. Photos of the yacht have been posted on BCY’s official website and it looks absolutely stunning.

The yacht was designed by Coste Design & Partners and shows off a dazzling combination of luxurious interior architecture and a touch of elegance on its exterior styling. The designer used new concepts that are now common on technologically advanced yachts, adding an extra sliver of sophistication on the vessel and stamping the brand in the international luxury market.

The living legend Riva Aquarama Lamborghini has been revived and is now as good as new. The legendary sports boat is now ready to cruise, after years of being hidden from the eyes of the public.  The Riva Aquarama Lamborghini was built 45 years ago and was commissioned by Ferruccio Lamborghini, founder of the Italian sports car brand.

It had been stashed in a boatyard and hidden under an old tarpaulin, thus the world never caught glimpse of it again. While fans and enthusiasts knew about Ferruccio Lamborghini’s Riva Aquarama, the legendary sports boat was nowhere to be found since its owner passed away in 1993.

It only resurfaced after a Dutch Riva collector was able to track it down and had Riva World fully restore it to original condition by Riva World. Three years after the restoration work on the Aquarama Lamborghini commenced, the sports boat now exudes the glory and the splendor it once had.

The 1962 Chris-Craft “Holiday” boat will soon cruise the seas powered by a V8 engine of Infiniti QX56. The hot-rodding of QX56’s engine in the Holiday is a collaboration project of students from Tennessee Technical Center-Nashville and Nashville State Community College with their instructors and some Infiniti personnel. The students have completed the first phase of the project.

After the 400-horsepower 5.6-liter V8 engine was removed from the QX56, it was dispatched to Bracket Marine in Westbrook, Maine for a trial fitting. The engine’s bell housing was also modified so that it could be used with the ZF/Hurth marine transmission.  The project is currently on its second phase. The engine is undergoing “marinization,” during which water-cooled exhaust manifolds are fabricated and a closed cooling system is adapted.

It will then be sent to Infiniti’s engine facility in Decherd, Tennessee, where its horsepower and torque will be tested to make sure it remains at par with factory specs. The engine will go back to Maine, where it will be installed in Holiday’s hull, which is currently undergoing total restoration. Following the restoration, the students will commence the third phase, the reassembly.
