Automotive engineers have studied and have undergone rigorous training to be able to create the perfect motor vehicle - and this includes making the most precise mechanical and natural systems. Knowing that people do make mistakes, it is the automotive engineer's task to think ahead for possible problems that may arise in the future.
They have to put themselves in someone else's shoes, someone who doesn't speak automotive jargon, and be able to make solutions that are as easy as one, two, three. Being an automotive engineer is a tough job and there will always be some glitch in the system where things just don't go the way it's supposed to.
Even those who have built the most technologically advanced cars have to go through trial and error to spot problems. Lucky for those whose technical problems have arisen prior to distribution but there are just unlucky few that have had to be recalled. One of those unlucky few is the Bugatti Veyron.Read the entire article Three Recalls Announced for Bugatti Veyron: What Went Wrong?
There’s great news for Bugatti Veyron owners as the automaker recently introduced the Loyalty Maintenance Program to help customers maintain the condition of their cars and to allow them to keep their vehicles in mint condition.
The Loyalty Maintenance Program is actually part of the company’s Extended Warranty and Extended Warranty Plus programs, which can last for as long as 15 years. Owning a Bugatti Veyron can be very expensive; the maintenance costs alone are already high. The brand hopes that this program will help reduce operating costs for owners.
Franco Utzeri, head of Bugatti Certified and Financial Services, says that the Bugatti Customer Service is definitely more than just a seal of approval, making a difference for Veyron owners. It includes warranty, individual support, and a combination of a confirmed vehicle history. The automaker’s goal is also to give their customers a unique experience and 360 degree ownership that no other automaker currently offers.Read the entire article Bugatti offers 15-year warranty as part of its Veyron Loyalty Maintenance Program
There are various challenges attached to creating a vehicle with an output of 707 horsepower. First of all, the vehicle will have to be constantly supplied with a generous stream of fuel. Apparently, that task proved to be too much for one of the suppliers of the components for the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the fuel lines of this Trackhawk could detach. And when that happens, not only will the 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine starve, but it will also start a fire.
Having said that, the FCA has reportedly recalled 1,242 units of these models in the United States to check and repair their fuel lines. The automaker estimates that these models were produced between October 10 during the beginning of the production and December 10, which is when a new quality control process was initiated. Lower versions of the Grand Cherokee are not affected here even if they have been furnished by the same supplier. This is because their fuel lines were made on a separate production line.Read the entire article Recall issued for Jeep’s Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to repair easily detachable fuel lines
BMW saw a potential oil leak on the new M760Li, prompting them to recall the said vehicle last April. Today, a little over two months after issuing the first recall, BMW is once again recalling the M760Li for the same reason. While 97 examples have been initially affected, the latest recall notice covers a total of 206 vehicles as issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (or NHTSA).
One of the main reasons is the oil leaking from the oil cooler possibly going onto the front brakes, compromising the vehicle’s braking efficiency. The 2017 BMW M760Li xDrive sedan, which packs a total output of 592hp(600PS) and 590lb ft (800Nm) of torque, can go for a zero-to-62 mph sprint in only 3.9 seconds. Even if no injuries or accidents have been reported, recalling the affected vehicles is important to let them check and replace the engine oil cooler line or whatever is necessary to prevent any serious problems.
According to BMW, they will be working on the vehicles beginning August 7 and that the procedure will be free of charge and should not take more than two hours to complete. In spite of this, owners should wait to be contacted first by the dealership before bringing in their cars for a check-up.Read the entire article Recall is expanded for BMW M760Li xDrive over oil-leak risks
While Bugatti doesn’t sell itself short when it comes to performance, many people know it doesn’t have enough oomph to stand out. Simply put; the French marque tends to go for subtlety, unlike other exotic hypercars with sharp edges or flashy color schemes. All the same, there is truly nothing wrong with a Veyron wrapped in gold as it is a car that costs over a million dollars.
American actor and Grammy award winning musician Jamie Foxx took to Instagram as he showed-off his newly customized Bugatti Veyron. His car, which used to be painted in a standard black and blue two-tone combination, now looks every inch an object built for those with the most expensive preferences.
Foxx opted for a gold wrap on every panel except for the horseshoe grille, door handles and center wheel caps that come with the standard chrome finish. On his post, the singer/ songwriter uploaded a photo of his gold Veyron with a caption saying; “I was feeling solid gold today when I drove in for work…”. He ended it with a Bugatti hashtag before telling more about Beat Shazam, an all-new game show he will be hosting on Fox TV.Read the entire article It’s gold or nothing for Jamie Foxx’s Bugatti Veyron
How much are you willing to pay for the one-off super exclusive Bugatti Veyron Mansory Linea Vincero? As it is one of the most expensive cars out there, being seen driving it will make everyone sit up and take notice.
We are aware that whoever can afford a brand new Bugatti Chiron has an extra $2.9 million sitting in their bank, and definitely a lot more to keep it maintained every year or so. If you have been eyeing one but don’t want to spend that much, you can always get a second hand Bugatti. However, not all second hand units are cheaper than a brand new one. In this case, there is a 2008 Mansory Linea Vincero that is currently being sold through Dupont Registry. It is as luxurious as it sounds, plus it is a one-of-one model so don’t expect it to cost less than a brand new Chiron.
This beauty is just one of three Mansory Bugattis you will find in the world, and it is the only example ever built. What makes it more unique is the fact that it had been customized by the infamous German tuning shop, and has a full carbon body exterior. The Veyron has also been given a facelift, now with a “V” built into the front bumper, and LED daytime running lights that complement the new front fenders and front apron. To complete the look, gold wheels and gold side mirrors were added for a more luxurious feel.Read the entire article Extremely rare Bugatti Veyron Mansory Linea Vincero is for sale
Bad news for BMW, their new flagship sedan, the 2017 BMW M760Li xDrive is already being recalled not so long after its release. Why so soon, you ask? Well, an oil line in the engine compartment is leaking oil.
The worst part though is that it leaks down to the front brakes, which is highly dangerous for the car and the driver since this could affect stopping power. Especially since it packs a 6.6 liter twin-turbo V12 engine, that yields up to 601 horsepower and 590 pound feet of torque. The four-wheel drive comes with an eight speed automatic and can sprint to 60 miles per hour from zero in just 3.6 seconds. Imagine having to stop a car that fast with brakes that don’t work well due to an oil leak.
The premium sedan has a top speed of 155 miles per hour, and if customers got the M Driver’s Package, it can be stretched up to 189 miles per hour. M760Li, like the standard 7-series, has an “Executive Drive Pro” suite as well. With Dynamic Damper Contolled air springs and Dynamic Drive that reduce roll and increase comfort while driving.Read the entire article 2017 BMW M760Li xDrive recalled due to oil leaks
Is there anyone out here who wishes to have a Bugatti Veyron replica instead of the real thing? Just in case, there is a 2002 Ford Cougar-turned-Veyron from eBay with a “buy it now” price of 75,000 USD. If you think the seller is asking far too much, don’t judge him very quickly. To justify the amount, the owner has specified that it actually cost him $98,000 to turn it into a Bugatti Veyron. Well, kind of.
Nevertheless, the asking price is quite a steal for a “Bugatti” but it would be really way over the top for a Cougar. For those who might be interested, the car up on sale is made out of a 2002 Ford Mercury Cougar with 193,120 km accumulated mileage.
Call it “Fugatti Ceyron”, “Cugatti Feyron” or whatever names you like, but it features virtually similar characteristics as that of the original. At least in terms of body works and two-tone body paint distinctive in all its designs. Of course a true Bugatti enthusiast would certainly know the difference between a knockoff and a real Veyron.Read the entire article A Cougar-based Bugatti Veyron imitation could be yours for $75,000
The North American unit of German premium carmaker BMW is recalling around 19,000 units of its BMW i3 electric vehicle because of the risk of fuel leak. You may ask, “An electric vehicle having a fuel leak?” Yes, EVs aren’t supposed to suffer from a fuel leak, simply because they get their energy from a battery pack, not from gasoline or petrol. That would be the case for a typical EV.
However, a fuel leak may occur in the case of EVs with a complementary internal combustion engine that serves its purpose to extend the distance the unit could travel. Simply put, once the battery pack runs out of energy, the gasoline engine kicks in as the EV seamlessly shifts from electric power to fossil fuel, thereby serving as a range extender.
While the BMW i3 is a pure electric vehicle, there are customers who want to travel farther distances than its battery power could provide. Thus, the German premium carmaker is also offering a version of the BMW i3 that is fitted with a small range-extending gasoline engine. This version – the BMW i3 Rex – has been recently found to be at risk of a fuel vapor line, mainly due to the positioning of the fuel tank vent line and the ribbed wire protection sleeve for the battery pack.Read the entire article BMW is recalling 19,130 units of i3 REx plug-in hybrid EV in the US due to possible fuel vapor leak
As far as history goes, Germany invaded France – and a couple of nations -- in World War II. What if, in the course of the war, German carmaker Volkswagen Group was able to absorb French carmaker Bugatti? A whole lot of things would have happened. Rendering artist RC Workchop has its own idea of what would have transpired if Bugatti became part of VW, and that includes a 1945 Bugatti Veyron.
RC Workchop’s 1945 Bugatti Veyron is just a speculative rendering. Of course, there are many reasons why such rendering as an actual vehicle would be next to impossible in 1945. But for the sake of automotive art, creativity and design, this work is very laudable and pretty convincing.
As we can see, the 1945 Bugatti Veyron rendering could be best described as a more streamlined version of the VW Beetle with various Bugatti design cues as seen on the real Veyron. Up front, the 1945 Bugatti Veyron looks more like a VW Beetle with the front wheelarches overextending forward. The front end is also defined by headlights and front bumper from the VW Beetle. However, this special rendering also features the horseshoe grille found on the Bugatti Veyron with the brand’s red Bugatti oval logo. The positioning of the grille is somewhat awkward, since at the time, the engine of the Beetle was located on the rear compartment.Read the entire article RC Workchop goes back in time with classy rendering of 1945 Bugatti Veyron
Come on baby, light my fire… Suddenly, a recall becomes a sensational news for more than 12 minutes and 33 seconds. Lamborghini earlier this week announced it is issuing a recall on the Aventador model range. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall includes the Super Veloce, the Pirelli Edition, the Miura Homage and the Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario.
The notice said there are issues concerning the vehicle’s Evaporative Emission Control System, which had to do with some faulty purge valves and defective ROV (roll over valve) along its fuel tank.
The ROV basically seals off the valve opening in order to prevent fuel leaks under unfortunate circumstances. The purge valve meanwhile controls how much fuel vapor is purged from the carbon canister.Read the entire article Lamborghini Aventador recalled due to engine fire risk, Veneno not part of it
The Bugatti Veyron surely comes with a lot of surprising twists even after more than ten years have passed. Here in the picture, we have a fusion of the exotic EB110 and the current Veyron model.
HPF Design’s mashup of classic and modern styling surely looks incredible. The rendered image combines some of the most legendary styling cues of the EB110 SS with the Veyron’s body.
Did you notice the new headlamps on the French hyper car? That’s from the old-school Bugatti model. How about that smaller grille at the front, fixed rear wing, wing mirror design and sharper contours along the body?Read the entire article HPF Design creates rendering of old-fashioned Bugatti EB110 SS merging with modern-day Veyron
Volkswagen Group’s dieselgate saga continues, but it appears the German company would be able to get out of trouble, but it would not be unscathed. This development comes as Volkswagen entered into an agreement with the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) and regulatory agencies to compensate customers whose vehicles are powered by the group’s 3.0-liter TDI diesel engines implicated in the emissions cheating scandal in 2015.
The new settlement agreement covers 83,000 Volkswagen Group vehicles powered by the group’s 3.0-liter TDI V6 engines that have been found to have employed software that helps them evade the emissions testing process. No thanks to this software, these V6 diesel engines seem cleaner than they actually are. Parties in the agreement – coming in the form of a proposed Consent Decree – include Volkswagen AG, Volkswagen Group of America, US DOJ, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the State of California, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the California Attorney General. The latest settlement agreement is more or less similar to the one that covers Volkswagen’s 2.0-liter TDI engines.
Under the proposed Consent Decree, Volkswagen has agreed to recall and/or buy back the affected 3.0-liter TDI V6 vehicles from Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche brands. The program will be separated into two parts.Read the entire article VW reaches agreement to recall and modify 3.0L V6 diesel engines involved in dieselgate scandal
For the longest time, the Bugatti Veyron’s 1,200 hp and 1,100 lb-ft of torque had been enough to outrun any high performance car on the track. But for Mate Rimac, founder of Rimac Automobili, the Concept One’s 1,088 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque may be the Veyron’s greatest challenger.
So last year, Rimac rose to the challenge and prepared to prove wrong his friend, William Alexander Sidney Herbert, also known as the 18th Earl of Pembroke. The Lord, who is also the founder of Wilton Classic and Supercar owns a ten-year-old Bugatti monster.
The pair went for a cruise in Croatia’s picturesque coastal roads with Sir William Herbert’s Bugatti Veyron in tow. While in there, Miro Zrncevic, Rimac’s official test driver went behind the wheel of the Concept One while the English heir drove his own supercar. The two hit the track in no time and even had the “drag race” recorded.Read the entire article Supercar showdown: Rimac Concept One vs Bugatti Veyron
The last Bugatti Veyron Super Sport will be auctioned next month with an estimated starting price of £2 million. Although RM Sotheby hasn’t given the auction price as of now, a Super Sport would’ve cost at least £1.2 million in 2013. A brand new Veyron would’ve cost over 1.7 million today.
Since there were only 300 coupes made under Bugatti’s “Super Sport 300”, each model is considered a rare find. The last one, which will be sold at the auction would’ve had the number “300” stamped on its chassis. The Super Sport being sold is still under the possession of its first owner. There were a total of 8 US-specified models sold when it was initially released. The last Bugatti Veyron Super Sport was also showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show together with the first ever Bugatti Veyron.
Ever since the owner bought it, the Super Sport has run about less than 400 miles. Out of this, around 269 miles were accumulated during test runs before delivery. The original owner has also brought it to Beverly Hills and Miami for regular maintenance.Read the entire article Last Bugatti Veyron Super Sport will be auctioned next month
Warrantywise has come up with a warranty for the Bugatti Veyron that will expectedly leave a number of people surprised. Tom Hartley, one of the top high-end car dealers in the U.K., will be offering a 12-month coverage that is expected to cost £10,000, which is around $12,300.
The Bugatti Veyron is considered as one of the most expensive there is with Warrantywise pegging its value in the vicinity of £2 million, about $2.47 million using prevailing exchange rates. What Warrantywise will be offering is a £10k Platinum Plus warranty, part of which contains unlimited claims going as high as the actual value of the car. This is excellent news for owners as this means they can avail of repairs amounting to £2 million. By repairs, this means, among others, wear and tear, car hire, and roadside assistance.
That’s not all as the warranty being offered also covers both electrical and mechanical parts. These include the radiators, wiring looms, gaskets, air-conditioning, drive belts, labor rates, and oil seals, to name a few. To put into perspective just how excellent this offer is, consider the fact that the Bugatti Veyron has an 8.0-liter W16 engine with 4 turbochargers and 10 radiators.Read the entire article Warrantywise offers unlimited warranty for Bugatti Veyron
Known for its luxurious bespoke interiors, the Bentayga's $275,000 price tag seems to be worth every penny for some people. However, Bentley happens to have overlooked something very important while assembling the production model for its latest Bentayga SUV. As it turns out, the bolts on the posh vehicle’s seat mechanism and dashboard were not properly secured. (tsk, tsk)
We know for a fact that a loosely tightened screw could compromise the vehicle’s overall safety. Over time, the frequent vibrations could make it lose its alignment completely. This is not something you’d expect from an SUV that costs an arm and a leg. Among Bentley’s bespoke interior add-ons include a fishing set, a Breitling tourbillon clock and a Linley hamper set that you can stuff with an exclusive picnic menu from Gloucestershire England’s Daylesford organic farm.
Only this year, Bentley added a new engine range for its famous Bentayga model. The Bentayga diesel comes with 4.0 litre V8 turbo charged direct injection engine. It uses the same powerplant as that of Audi’s SQ7 SUV. Thus, allowing it to produce as much as 429 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. Basically, the Bentayga diesel can go from zero to one hundred kilometres per hour in less than 5 seconds, with top speed reaching 168 miles per hour.Read the entire article Recall is ongoing for 2017 Bentley Bentayga due to injury risk from loose dashboard, seat
To cap off this year’s UEFA European Championship commonly known to us as the Euro 2016, Portugal came from behind the French squad and snagged the title for this prestigious soccer event. Portugal’s national team, led by renowned professional footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, goes home to a 1-0 victory against France in a match that kept people (especially the Portuguese fans) on their toes. Ronaldo had to tearfully hit the bench on an accidental collision with Dimitri Payet on the first half of the game but the Portuguese football club still managed to secure their victory.
Most people would probably treat themselves on a luxury cruise or go on a lavish vacation somewhere in the Maldives or on a Safari adventure but Cristiano Ronaldo is no ordinary human being. While we hope to go somewhere relaxing to reward ourselves for all our hardwork, Cristiano Ronaldo decided to celebrate Portugal’s win at the Euros by buying himself a new car. Not just any car but a Bugatti Veyron.
The Portugal football club captain and Real Madrid striker is known to own a collection of luxury vehicles including a black Porsche 911, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Ferrari 599 GTO, two Bentley Continental GT’s, a Cayenne Turbo and a BMW M6. Ronaldo posted a photo of his new acquisition on Instagram with a caption “The animal arrive”. Sure enough, his Bugatti Veyron is an exceptional car as it is a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse – one of approximately 450 units produced.Read the entire article Cristiano Ronaldo Celebrates Euro 2016 Win With a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse Black Edition
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word “uber” is used to denote a particular kind of person who is a “great or extreme example”. It can also be used to describe things that are a “superlative example” of its class. The term is basically a connotation of supremacy or excessiveness of something.
In today’s innovative world, we often connect the term “uber” to a special mode of transportation – instead of booking a taxi, people are able to choose the kind of vehicle ranging from the most common sedans to the most luxurious cars that can be found in the planet. Founded around 7 years ago, Uber Technologies Inc. has been serving its customers who depend on vehicles for hire with utmost care and giving them the same comfort as if owning their own vehicles.
Actually, almost anyone can become an Uber driver as long as you have a driver’s license, have a car, registered with the company and of course, is sane enough so you do not put yourself and your passenger in harm’s way. Now, it doesn’t matter what kind of car you’re driving but it also wouldn’t hurt to add a little effort for extra comfort and luxury to earn high ratings.Read the entire article Uber driver picks up passengers with 1,200 hp Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse
For a long time, top speed has been the basis in measuring a vehicle’s capability and performance. However, this has become an impractical way since performance cars simply cannot achieve such a speed outside the test track due to road conditions and structure.
Thus, quickness in acceleration becomes a better measure. In terms or racing, it is more practical to record the time it takes for a car to get to a certain speed; standard international scale go by 0 to 100 kilometers or an equivalent 0 to 62 miles per hour while American vehicles us the 60 mph standard.
The ability of a car to get itself to speed up from around a corner is a more significant factor to consider than how it is able to start off at full speed but having to slow down when it comes to a corner.Read the entire article Nine of the Fastest Accelerating Production Cars of 2016
