Buick has yet to officially unveil the newest Enspire Concept in China but it gave everyone a juicy preview ahead of its scheduled debut on April 25 in Beijing. The concept not only looks great, but it also features an electric powertrain that gives it an output of 550 horsepower (410 kilowatts) and that allows for a 370 mile (596 kilometers) range. According to Buick, their estimated sprint time for the Enspire would be four seconds to hit 60 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour).
Buick used the Enspire to show off their take on its existing design language. Up front, you will notice a broad grille and there are skinny, chrome spears that incorporate the LED headlights. Each corner of the vehicle’s face is dominated by big intakes. There are smooth contours on both the side and the rear of the vehicle, contrasted with the trendy floating roof. To match the front, there’s a strip of LED taillights that stretch all the way across the back.
“Surround skyline” is what Buick calls the cabin’s theme. However, as you can see, they have only provided one photo here so we don’t really have a good look at the interior. Although from that image alone, we can tell that it is quite a high tech place. It features theatre-type seating that gives the Enspire a bright and spacious interior. Some of its cutting edge technologies include an OLED display screen and an intelligent augmented reality technology based head-up display.Read the entire article Buick Enspire EV Concept boasts 550hp and 370-mile range
The refreshed 2019 Buick Envision compact SUV was recently unveiled to feature some visual and performance tweaks. Not a few have noticed that the latest iteration of the Envision doesn’t anymore sport the brand plate badge (BUICK lettering) on its rear end. There is a reason for that – Buick has decided to do away with the brand plate badge starting in the 2019 model year.
There are a number of ways to identify a vehicle as an offering of a certain brand. For instance, the vehicle features signature design elements distinct to the brand. Aside from these hallmark styling cues, a vehicle could be identified through the brand plate, brand emblems and brand logos as well as the nameplate. Of course, people need to be familiar with these identifying elements to properly identify a vehicle with a certain brand.
As for Buick vehicles, they are also identified with the brand through several distinguishing elements. But, it is pretty hard to identify a Buick through its overall design alone. Buick’s Tri-Shield logo – now featuring a red, silver and blue finish – on the front and rear ends is a good identifier.Read the entire article Buick to get rid of brand plate badge starting with 2019 models
Finally, the refreshed 2019 Buick Envision has been revealed to us by the automaker. Buick then says that most of these changes on both its looks and its mechanism were made in response to their customers’ feedback for the crossover when the 2016 model year was launched.
The 2019 Buick Envision now has a new front fascia, with the new headlights and the grille that make the facelifted model look more like the other new Buick models. It now sits on a set of 19 inch wheels and the rear has got new taillights as well. HID headlights now come as a standard, and customers could go for the optional LEDs on the top two trim levels.
They can also opt for the optional 2.0 liter inline four engine that carries out 295 pound feet of torque, which is a good improvement from the previous 260. Power output, however, remains at 252 horsepower. This engine is paired to a nine speed automatic transmission instead of the six speed transmission on its predecessor.Read the entire article Refreshed 2019 Buick Envision gets aesthetic and power tweaks with optional nine-speed automatic
Buick has plans of refreshing its popular Envision compact crossover for the 2019 model year. Automotive News was able to get a sneak peek of the model recently, which is supposedly getting a couple of subtle changes, but still noticeable - up front and in the rear.
The outgoing model has been out in the United States for about a year and a half, but with this segment (SUV market) being the most competitive amongst the rest, manufacturers are seeing a need to regularly update their vehicles.
The automaker wants to align the 2019 Buick Envision with the brand’s other models, namely its best selling Encore. It was back in May 2016 when the Envision was first launched as a first entry model in the compact crossover segment, and it quickly became the brand’s number 3 seller behind two other crossovers, which are the Encore and Enclave. In its first full year on the market in 2017, it sold a total of 41,040 units.Read the entire article 2019 Buick Envision will get a minor facelift
Interested to get Buick’s latest rendition of the Avenir? It isn’t really a range-topping trim as it’s actually treated as a sub-brand. Before it came out as the LaCrosse sedan, this model first appeared as a four-door concept, and was initially introduced as the Enclave SUV. As you know, the Enclave Avenir has a starting price of $53,500, and the LaCrosse will be priced a little cheaper when it finally goes on sale in a few weeks.
Let us get into more detail regarding the prices of the LaCrosse trims. Firstly, the luxurious 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir can be had for a reasonable price of $45,795. This makes it $3,700 more expensive than the standard LaCrosse Premium, which has a price tag of $42,095 (inclusive of a destination cost of $925).
Under the hood of the LaCrosse Avenir is the same 3.6 liter engine that can be found in the Premium model. It carries out 310 horsepower (231 kilowatts) and 268 pound-feet (363 Newton-metres) of torque, paired to a nine speed automatic transmission. But since it is priced a little more, expect it to come with some extra features too.Read the entire article 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir has starting price of $45,795
There will be, indeed, a new member for Buick’s luxury sub-brand Avenir in 2018. Buick has officially introduced the inclusion of the new 2018 Buick LaCrosse Avenir premium flagship sedan, which it describes as its highest expression of luxury.
Making the LaCrosse sedan part of the Avenir sub-brand was an easy decision for Buick. Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC, noted that nine of 10 LaCrosse customers are picking one of the top two trim levels, which means that these clients are seeking more from Buick. Alfred quipped that by bearing the name Avenir, the new LaCrosse Avenir offers more content and more elegant appearance all in attainable luxury. The new 2018 LaCrosse Avenir will feature distinct styling cues, an extensive set of standard elements as well as exclusive premium materials.
Just like the recently introduced Enclave Avenir, the new LaCrosse Avenir comes with a number of design cues derived from and inspired by Buick concept cars. These design cues include the distinct three-dimensional mesh upper and lower grille with chrome wings, as well as the Avenir script badging on the front doors. As standard, the new LaCrosse Avenir rides on exclusive 19-inch Pearl Nickel. Twenty-inch Midnight Silver wheels are also available.Read the entire article Buick introduces 2018 LaCrosse Avenir premium flagship sedan
It looks like Buick’s luxury sub-brand Avenir is all poised to give birth to a new member in 2018. Buick will be adding the LaCrosse into its Avenir lineup next year, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Admission, as dug up by GM Inside News.
Presently, the Buick LaCrosse has become a victim of the crumbling full-size sedan market. In fact, with a 204-day supply of inventory, the Buick flagship sedan has shown its weakness – low sales. But things may change if Buick would create a premium luxury version of its flagship sedan and have it don the Avenir badge. Buick is hoping that once the LaCrosse in the luxury car market, the destiny of its low-selling full-size sedan might cross to the greener pasture.
Buick or GM hasn’t confirmed it, but the LaCrosse Avenir was definitely included in GM’s 2018 Vehicle Identification Number Decoder revised and submitted to the NHTSA in September. As indicated in these documents discovered by GM Inside News – in particular in the VIN’s fifth position – Buick is planning to offer two configurations of the LaCrosse Avenir – front-wheel and all-wheel drive. It is expected that the new Buick will be powered by exclusively with the current 3.6-liter V6 engine as mated to GM’s nine-speed automatic gearbox.Read the entire article Buick’s Avenir sub-brand to welcome LaCrosse full-size sedan into its luxury lineup
The long awaited 2018 Buick Regal GS has finally been revealed by the company, following several leaked photos and information in the past few months. The thing is, if you’ve been keeping up with the leaked reports, there won’t be surprises left for you. All of the details have been pretty much covered. Basically, the Regal GS is a five-door, all-wheel drive with a sexy style and a touch of luxury. Needless to say, it’s also performance-focused.
Starting off with performance, under the hood is a 3.6 liter naturally-aspirated V6 that generates 310 horsepower and 282 pound-feet of torque. Although this is an upgrade from the last turbocharged GS, the Regal GS’ performance is not as impressive as we expected, since the LaCrosse has the same output. Also, it pales in comparison when being compared to the Chevrolet Camaro that comes with a 3.6 liter mill, producing 335 horses. But not to worry as the 310 horsepower should be fast enough for a nice cruise. It also features an integrated auto start/stop and cylinder deactivation.
A nine-speed automatic transmission will be tied with the engine, which will also give power to the all-wheel drive setup with an active twin clutch that will enable power to be shuffled between the front and rear wheels so it can perform better. Moreover, the Regal GS comes standard with Buick’s Interactive Drive Control system where the driver can choose driving modes like standard, Sport, or GS for a more focused drive. When driving, the system makes use of the company’s Continuous Damping Control that can adjust suspension as much as 500 times per second.Read the entire article 2018 Buick Regal GS is officially out, price starts at $39,990
Buick finally reveals the 2018 model year of the Regal GS, except the one we are seeing is for the Chinese market. But not to worry as the American version of the sporty midsize sedan will look almost identical as this one. In fact, the previous models look the same in both countries.
So far, we have only seen two images of the new 2018 Buick Regal GS. One of the exterior, and the other one of the interior. Based on what we can see here, the 2018 model year now comes with sportier bumpers with a pair of huge air vents. The new grille gets a mesh pattern, which is different from the standard Regal and the Tourx wagon that come with vertical fins.
Moving on to the profile of the Regal GS, its side skirts have become bulkier, paired with a set of huge black alloy wheels with Brembo brake calipers in red that acts as a contrast. As for the rear, the sedan will be having a more aggressive bumper and larger trapezoidal exhaust tips like the ones we saw in the spy shots earlier on.Read the entire article Chinese version of the 2018 Buick Regal GS is officially unveiled
The new 2018 Buick Regal GS is definitely coming to town, it turns out, and it will do so with a powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine that could deliver 310 horsepower of output. This piece of information isn’t a guess, but a detail leaked from the brand’s own magazine.
Quite a lot of details have already been known to the public about the new Buick Regal GS, which is essentially the performance-oriented version of the Regal. Most of the information was known thanks to the probing eyes of our journalistic colleagues. However, it should be noted that Buick and General Motors – intentionally or unintentionally – leaked details about the new Regal GS.
When Buick unveiled the next generation of the Regal, it only took the wraps off the Sportback and TourX wagon forms, which would be launched later this year. Remarkably missing from the debut of the next-gen Regal was the highly anticipated GS model. Buick hasn’t officially revealed any details about the next-gen Regal GS, but the brand is expected to offer such a model considering the fact that the previous generation has a GS version and this performance-oriented was quite a hit.Read the entire article 2018 Buick Regal GS will get a V6 engine delivering 310 hp
Buick’s new wagon, the 2018 Regal TourX will come with an MSRP of $29,995 including delivery charges as reported by CarsDirect earlier this week. Its base model or the 1SV trim is set to be the more affordable choice between other expensive brands like Audi’s A4 Allroad, the Volvo Cross Country wagon, Subaru Outback or even Volkswagen’s Golf Alltrack wagon model. Currently, the pricing for some of these wagons start at $45,475 for Audi and $37,145- $42,696 for the Volvo.
The new base model, including the entire Regal TourX range, will pack a standard 250hp and 265lb-ft of torque 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and all- wheel- drive layout. All versions will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission while the set of 18-inch wheels, active noise cancellation and push start button have also been included in the setup.
For the price of $33,575 (or an additional $3,850), Buick offers the Regal TourX Preferred 1SB with more color options aside from the standard silver, white and black body paints. Those come in addition to the door sill plates, power driver’s seat, leather wrapped steering wheel and auto-dimming rearview mirror that are all part of the package.Read the entire article 2018 Buick Regal TourX priced below $30,000
Buick's heavily altered 2017 Buick LaCrosse was a likeable vehicle when it was rolled out last year, however the declining passenger car market affected the overall appeal of the vehicle especially the full-sizer's standard feature and efficiency. Sales went downhill due to this reason. Now the American automaker is rebounding by revealing that the 2018 LaCrosse will have a tempting upgrade to offer in the form of eAssist mild hybrid system and new transmission in V6 powered models in hopes of attracting more customers into the showroom.
The newest 2018 Buick LaCrosse is geared with a 2.5 L 4-cylinder with an eAssist mild hybrid as the vehicle's standard powertrain. In an economical move, the price will be slashed from $32,990 to $30,490 for the existing sedan that is equipped with the 3.6 L V6 engine. The hybrid model will be available at showrooms this coming fall. The American car maker is still mum on the specific details regarding the hybrid LaCrosse's output.
But Buick commented that the powertrain is expected to upgrade the sedan's fuel economy in the city by about 19 percent which will allow it an estimated 25 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon in the highway. The hybrid sedan's 2.5 L 4-cylinder utilizes a motor generator unit that takes the place of a conventional alternator, and a 0.45 kW-hour lithium-ion battery stocks energy for the system.Read the entire article 2018 Buick LaCrosse is available with mild hybrid powertrain as standard
American automaker General Motors is looking forward in regards to the Buick's new luxury sub brand future performance, if it will be at par with the success of GMC's line-up of Denali badged vehicles.
GMC'S Denali line-up, with its mixed chromed-up exteriors and French-stitched leather bolstered seat has worked wonders and is considered as the second U.S. luxury trademark for General Motors. The reported sales of the Denali was in the same level as the Acura and Cadillac the previous month and generated a higher transaction costs than Lexus and Audi.
Now GM is hopeful that the Avenir can replicate the GMC's Denali's success. The new luxury sub brand made its debut with its 2018 Enclave crossover at the New York Auto Show. GM will also apply the same formula utilized at Buick to the Avenir, hoping to add a dauntless grille, flashier wheels and a more comfy interior that will be cleansed by cabin-air ionizer.Read the entire article Can Buick Avenir follow in the footsteps of GMC Denali?
Buick unveils the latest 2018 Enclave at the 2017 New York Auto Show featuring versatile functionality, spaciousness and the latest technology. The midsize luxury SUV now has more space at the third row, an improved towing capability, various safety technologies, and a range of useful interior features. Inside, it boasts of premium materials which enhances the whole experience of cruising with this all-new seven-passenger midsize luxury SUV.
Despite its slimmer size and shorter height, the new Enclave is more spacious on the inside. The standard leg room on the third row offers 5.6 more inches compared to that of the Acura MDX, 4.5 inches more compared to the Audi Q7, and almost 3 inches more compared to the Infinity QX60. And compared to the outgoing model, the new Enclave comes with a longer wheelbase and tighter (by 1.4 feet) turning circle, contributing to better maneuverability.
The new Enclave has a seating capacity good for seven passengers, and provides 10 percent more cubic feet of cargo space (behind the first row) compared to the Acura MDX, Audi Q7 and Infiniti QX60. It even boasts of increased towing capacity, allowing up to 5,000 pounds of weight – that’s almost about the same weight as a typical 21-foot sport boat!Read the entire article 2018 Buick Enclave redefines the standards for midsize luxury SUVs
Gracing the 2017 New York Auto Show is the 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir – the brand’s very first entry in its new Avenir luxury sub-brand. This latest generation of Buick’s crossover vehicle comes with a sleeker look, compared to vehicles in the same class.
The Enclave Avenir has taken some features from recent Buick concepts such as the Avenir Concept car and integrating it as its own. Here, we find a combination of its mesh grille and chrome wings which serve as a support for the Buick tri-shield emblem. Another standard feature is a pair of LED headlights featuring automatic high beams.
Compared to the outgoing model, the 2018 Enclave is now taller and longer. Its height has increased by 2.4 inches (61 millimeters) or a total of 204.3 inches (5.189 meters), and its wheelbase is made longer so that it is now at 120.9 inches (3.071 meters) – a 2-inch (51-millimeter) increase from the current generation’s. However, this increase in size does not affect its weight as the 2018 Enclave is lighter than the current generation – the base model’s curb weight is at 4,358 pounds (1,977 kilograms), which is actually 366 pounds (166 kg) lighter.Read the entire article 2018 Buick Enclave Avenir debuts at New York Auto Show
Say goodbye to Buick Regal Sedan, and say hello to Buick's newest offers. In 2018, the upscale automobile company is having an overall haul by offering a midsize Regal SportBack with coupe-ish styling and the Regal TourX, which is a crossover but we can also safely call it a wagon.
It has been a running fact that the American consumers’ love for sedans is sadly declining. But it's far from extinction as more than 3 million midsize vehicles have been sent off by dealers in 2016. And since the trend is crystal clear, General Motors decided to act on this pattern. The Buick Regal sales of 20,000 for the last 2 years seems to be more impressive than most, but just barely.
Buick is known for its conservatism, but with the 2018 Regal, General Motor's luxury stamp is taking things to a whole new level. With no competitive sedan in sight, consumers can choose between the newcomers, the 2018 Regal Sportback and TourX. Rather than a 4-door sedan shaped vehicle, the Regal Sportback will sport a liftback design akin to the Audi A7.Read the entire article 2018 Buick Regal reinvented, will be available as Sportback and TourX
General Motors is getting ready to unveil its new Buick Regal sedan at the Shanghai Auto Show 2017 in April. But before GM had the chance to do so, leaked images of the new sedan have surfaced.
Actually, we already have a good idea of how would the China-bound 2018 Buick Regal would look like as early as December 2016. At the time, General Motors introduced the Opel Insignia Grand Sport, which will have its official debut this March at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This new large family car marks the second generation of the Insignia after nearly a decade. The Insignia Grand Sport features a new design made distinct by elegant lines as well as best-in-class aerodynamics. It is also underpinned by a new platform and loaded with new systems and technologies. Of course, it was openly known that the second-gen Insignia would be the basis for the new Holden Commodore and the new Buick Regal, and would be homologated for the requirements in the countries where they would be marketed. This means we could expect some differences in the exterior, interior and the mechanicals of these models.
As the leaked images reveal, it seems that the China-bound 2018 Buick Regal looks very similar to the Opel Insignia Grand Sport. The most glaring difference is found on the front end – the China-bound Buick Regal features the brand’s waterfall grille and the large winged Buick logo on the center. Of course, the badges are different on the 2018 Buick Regal.Read the entire article Leaked images: China-bound 2018 Buick Regal is an Opel Insignia Grand Sport
Buick is looking forward to how everyone responds to its own take on the future of mobility after taking the wraps off its new Buick Velite Concept at the 2016 Guangzhou Motor Show. This new concept features a beautiful and innovative crossover body accentuated by an elegant interior. Powered by a high-performance plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) powertrain, the new Buick Velite Concept displayed at the 2016 Guangzhou Motor Show provides a preview of Buick future electrified models that will be marketed under its Buick Blue strategy.
The concept’s name -- Velite – was first used on a roadster concept designed by Buick and built by Gruppo Bertone and unveiled at the 2004 New York International Show. If your knowledge of history is a bit rusty, Velite is a group of elite soldiers of the French Army under the direct command of Napoleon I as imperial guard. Now, Buick rehashed the moniker to name its latest creation, the Velite Concept.
Buick’s new Velite Concept was developed by the Shanghai-based Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC), which is an engineering and design joint venture between General Motors and SAIC Motor Corp. Ltd. In developing the Velite Concept, PATAC leveraged GM’s global resources and took inspiration from water and traditional Chinese culture. Its aerodynamic crossover body features flowing lines as well as sculpted curves – thereby conveying Buick’s new design language. Its front end features a wing-shaped front grille flanked by sleek intelligent matrix LED headlights. Its interior, meanwhile, makes use of recycled materials and features induction ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.Read the entire article Buick unveils Velite Concept with PHEV powertrain at 2016 Guangzhou Motor Show

Buick Encore’s reputation as one of America’s most popular small SUVs is expected to get a boost with the arrival of the latest model at the 2016 New York Auto Show. According to Buick’s vice president for Sales, Service and Marketing, Duncan Aldred, the Buick Encore “created” the premium small SUV segment and continues to be the number one choice for those who want superior features and dependability combined with a “timeless design.”
The Encore made a name for itself after it was introduced to the public in 2013 and has quickly topped the small SUV market in 2014 and 2015. This small SUV offers the same premium features typically found in larger luxury SUVs but it comes with greater maneuverability. About 60% of Buick sales are of its SUVs.
Before the Enclave arrived in 2007, the SUV share of sales was at 34%. The Buick Encore, being the best-selling vehicle in North America last year, accounted for almost one third of overall sales. For the first two months of 2016, the Encore has increased sales by 34 percent and has extended a year-over-year streak in sales to 26 months.Read the entire article All-new 2017 Buick Encore Facelift comes with improved styling, new tech
