While executives at Lincoln say that the 2015 Navigator is a moderate refreshening, the full-sized luxury SUV is actually expected to retake the lead in a segment the brand pioneered in the 1990s but eventually lost to the Cadillac Escalade.
Lincoln is hoping that the 2015 Navigator would serve as a reminder that the brand is still one of the dominant names in the luxury car industry, preparing customers to the real deal after two or three years when Lincoln rolls out a redesigned Navigator.
While Lincoln executives won’t discuss future product plans, industry analysts expect the new Navigator to bear an aluminum body. Lincoln was credited with creating the full-size luxury truck-based SUV segment, rolling out the MY1997 Navigator in 1996.Read the entire article Lincoln refreshes Navigator to announce it is still alive, challenge Escalade
The last time the Lincoln Aviator premium SUV made it to the streets was more than a decade ago. It was only produced for three years, and the 2005 model year was the last version of the Aviator produced. Now, the Aviator is set to take off once again, as recently unveiled at 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Lincoln is once again ready to demonstrate that its premium SUV offering isn't just for luxurious utility, but also for power and capability. It is for these reasons the all-new 2020 Lincoln Aviator is laden not just with a powerful engine but also with advanced technologies. This new three-row, midsize premium utility takes Lincoln’s design vision on a new level while pursuing the brand’s Quiet Flight concept.
The design of the all-new Lincoln Aviator is inspired by aviation, as seen on its lines as well as on its wraparound windshield. Moreover, the stature of the front grille and tapering off of the body and tail provide a distinct aerofoil analogy. The Aviator on display at the LA Auto Show is wrapped in Flight Blue exterior color. Its Lincoln’s signature grille dons a high-gloss black appearance as well as chrome accents.Read the entire article 2018 LA Auto Show: 2020 Lincoln Aviator gets rebooted with Grand Aviator hybrid option
Lincoln’s luxury SUV, the Aviator, is the automaker’s newest vehicle to date. We were lucky enough to get a teaser of this a few weeks ago. It is absolutely gorgeous but do not be impulsive and place an order for one just yet. And that is because Lincoln said that this model is just a preview of the actual vehicle that is meant to arrive next year. So now, we can’t confirm yet whether this one is a concept or a prototype.
Joy Falotico, Lincoln Motor Company president, says that the Lincoln Navigator continues to turn heads and bring new clients to the brand. They are also pretty confident about the Aviator’s elegant design, state of the art technology and refined plug-in hybrid option, believing that this will draw even more clients to the Lincoln showroom. Among these customers are families who are looking for a high-performance three-row SUV.
It should be noted that this is the brand’s first plug-in hybrid. According to the automaker, it will likely be paired with a biturbo V6 electric motor as opposed to a modest gasoline engine. Lincoln says that the Aviator will be at par or may even surpass many of the supercars on the road today.Read the entire article 2018 New York Auto Show: Lincoln Aviator plug-in hybrid SUV offers supercar performance
Matthew McConaughey, under the persona of Detective Rust Cohle, is not anymore the lone endorser of Lincoln cars. And that is because the automaker decided to get more brand ambassadors for the company’s image. For instance, they will include tennis superstar Serena Williams to represent exclusive online content, and finally, President Abraham Lincoln appears in its newest ad.
This is not the first time that Williams has driven a Lincoln. In fact, the first-ever car she purchased was a Lincoln Navigator that she named Ginger. After owning it for eight years, she then decided to pass the car on to her niece.
Williams said that when she first got her car, she thought the car looked great and she also felt safe in the luxury car she bought. She then said that when the opportunity came to work with the Lincoln Navigator, she felt excited and jumped at the chance as this reminded her of numerous amazing moments she had with her car. She added that partnering with a brand like the Lincoln Navigator comes from a genuine place.Read the entire article Lincoln’s new ad features iconic namesake, Serena Williams also named brand ambassador
Lincoln has some good news for fans and enthusiasts of its Lincoln MKC – the premium brand’s small sports utility is getting a refresh for the 2019 model year. Among the updates are some new styling elements, increased connectivity, and more driver-focused technologies.
The premium carmaker introduced the MKC in 2014 (as a 2015 model), and since then the small SUV has been successful in bringing in new customers from other brands. Lincoln noted that nearly half of its new customers are conquest sales.
With the current looks of the MKC making waves in the small SUV segment and attracting new customers, Lincoln perhaps has decided to keep most of the present formula and implement a few styling updates while adding new innovations to further gain more sales.Read the entire article Lincoln refreshes MKC small SUV for 2019 with some restyling and new tech
The battle for dominance in the market for large, luxurious body-on-frame sports utility vehicles is already heating up even before Ford commences sales of its new Lincoln Navigator SUV. This comes as GM decided to offer a trade-in deal that sees $5,000 off a new Cadillac Escalade.
Ford is all set to begin sales of the new Navigator SUV sometime next week. It is a massive improvement over the current iteration. There is also a massive step-up in price, with the new Lincoln Navigator having a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $72,055. As a new generation vehicle that boasts of being a far cry from the current version, the Lincoln Navigator is attracting a lot of attention, and that could potentially translate to huge sales.
On the other hand, GM is offering the Cadillac Escalade for the 2018 model year. While it is not an outgoing model, the 2018 Cadillac Escalade hasn’t received major enhancements since the 2015 model year. Although the Cadillac Escalade is expected to remain a dominant force in its segment, its sales superiority is being challenged heavily by the new Lincoln Navigator. In short, GM will be having its hands full defending its position in the luxury SUV segment until it rolls out a new generation -- or even a major update -- of the Cadillac Escalade.Read the entire article $5,000 discount is offered for trade-ins of Lincoln Navigator for 2018 Cadillac Escalade
In the last 20 years, Lincoln had not built coupes, nor has it made convertibles. Now the question is, what should one do when he wants a two-door coupe that looks like a Lincoln? If that ever came across your mind, you were not alone. We actually have a concrete image of how it will look, because someone built one. Unfortunately, we aren’t a big fan of how it looks.
This photo was found on Reddit, and it is of a late-model Mustang Convertible that looks a bit off. That is because it had been given an additional rear bumper, and a Lincoln Continental-style spare tire carrier. Even without a photo, you could probably already imagine how it looks, and you are probably thinking - who in their right mind would do that?
But surprisingly, this is not the first time we have seen a Mustang with the parts or the body of a Lincoln. Having said that, Lincoln’s own Mark VIII once shared its platform with the Ford Thunderbird in the mid-1990s. Similarly, its predecessor from the 1980s, the Mark VII, was based on the same Fox platform as the Mustang.Read the entire article Lincoln-bodied Mustang seen on Reddit looks absolutely dreadful
A lot of people would consider the 2018 Lincoln Navigator an SUV large enough to fit seven passengers comfortably, and still having a lot of cargo space. But not everybody has the same standards, and some may still find it small for some odd reason. Well, if you are one of those people, then worry no more. Ford's luxury marque just announced that they have prepared what they call an "extended" version of the luxury SUV.
To be more specific, the Extended-lenght Lincoln Navigator will be almost one foot longer than the regular version. That’s 30 centimeters longer, meaning that there will be even more space for the passengers.
The extended Navigator offers a segment-leading cargo volume behind the second row seats, which the company is indeed proud of. An additional 15 cubic feet of cargo has been added behind the third row seats. And as I have mentioned earlier, the longer the vehicle, the more legroom there will be for the passengers. That’s because of its wheelbase that has been extended by almost 10 inches (25.4 centimeters) more than the standard version. But the good news doesn't end there, this version also has elongated rear doors which makes getting in and out of the car easier.Read the entire article Lincoln reveals the extended-lenght version of the Navigator
Very few modified vehicles could be considered as icons of their generation; however, the 1939 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe is a remarkable exception and has since became a notable vehicle ever since it was made. Now the modified automobile even has its unique moniker, the "Scrape".
The 1939 legendary Lincoln Zephyr is highly regarded by most car enthusiasts and is seen as a classic aesthetic automobile, and this modified version took its awesomeness to a whole new level. If you are wondering why the Zephyr Scrape is considered an icon, then the following story will give you a glimpse of how it got its fame. The said vehicle is the creation of former Hot Rod magazine editor Terry Cook, who spent a lot of years coming up with the rare design.
It was made to combine the finest features of the Zephyr: its cowl-back appearance stemming from the 1938-'39 models and the appealing snout of its '40-'41 unit years. The former editor then hooked them up to come up with the Scrape creation. A lot of custom builders sacrificed their precious times just to utilize it for the vehicle's body construction, and finally a design was chosen: a low riding, chop-top Lincoln.Read the entire article RM Sotheby’s will offer Batman-inspired Lincoln Zephyr hot rod at auction on June 24-25
For the past few months, several spy photos of Lincoln’s flagship SUV – the all-new 2018 Lincoln Navigator – have been surfacing, showing its basic shape and a couple of modifications including the removal of its coverings. Shape-wise, the 2018 Navigator has a striking similarity with the Navigator Concept’s gullwing (showcased during last year’s New York Auto Show).
Unfortunately for the said gullwing, it never made it to production, which isn’t really surprising since most enthusiasts have always known of its fate. The various spoilers that have surfaced before the 2018 Navigator’s debut has, quite frankly, subdued the excitement and hype for the updated SUV.
Now, for those who are still eager to learn more about Lincoln’s freshly revamped flagship SUV, sit back and relax as we give to you a quick run-through of what’s in store for you.Read the entire article 2018 Lincoln Navigator officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show
The interior of the new Lincoln Continental just got more stylish with the availability of a new theme – the Rhapsody. Of course, there is a reason why Lincoln chose to indulge the luxurious Continental with this new color theme.
Rhapsody will be the third theme that is available as part of the Black Label packages for the Lincoln Continental. It serves as the third option from Thoroughbred interior theme (black and brown) and the Chalet interior theme (cashmere and espresso). The premium brand calls the Rhapsody as a unique monochromatic interior with rich, layered tones of blue.
According to Lincoln, the Rhapsody Blue interior theme is founded in the world of music, sound and style. It was named after the famous classical (jazz) piece by American composer George Gershwin – Rhapsody in Blue – to which the designers of the Continental were listening to while working on this theme. Lincoln adds that the deep hues of Rhapsody interior emulate the velvet sky of twilight as evening transitions into darkness. Marcia Salzberg, senior designer for color and materials, remarked that the Rhapsody interior theme simply captured the tempo of life for the Lincoln client.Read the entire article Music and nature inspire Lincoln Continental’s new Black Label Rhapsody interior theme
Only a few people would have the guts and the money to ask for all of the customization options for a vehicle. And Dr. Dre is one of them. Dr. Dre recently received the delivery of a 2016 Cadillac Escalade ESV. This is not your ordinary Escalade, which is Cadillac’s flagship SUV. This is the ESV. This is the longer version of the Cadillac full-size SUV.
Typically, the Cadillac Escalade ESV fetches a price that does not even reach hundreds of thousands of dollars – standard trim starts at $73, 965 (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) excluding tax, title, license and dealer fees -- even when equipped with the top and latest specs and features.
However, the fully customized Cadillac Escalade – a work of custom luxury tuner Becker Automotive Design – reportedly stripped around $200,000 off Dr. Dre’s pockets. That amount would be just a penny for the man, considered that he is thought to have a net worth of around $700 million.Read the entire article Dr. Dre’s new maxed out Cadillac Escalade ESV cost him around $200,000
Lincoln Navigator Concept was a show-stopper at the 2016 New York Auto Show. It is the latest re-imagination of the first Navigator, which had jumpstarted the creation of the large luxury SUV segment in 1997.
However, this concept provides a glimpse of what Lincoln could offer for its SUV clients -- more space, better performance and better refinement.

Signifying the importance of the Chinese auto market, some companies have recently introduced models that were specifically designed to meet Chinese preferences. One such car is the reborn Lincoln Continental. The new car is designed to be chauffeur-driven, with its long wheelbase and spacious rear seats, a fact that would be appreciated by the high-end Chinese customer this car is obviously designed for.
This premium treatment for the rear seat passenger is shown in the feel of the leather seats as well as a "chauffeur" button. Lincoln China deputy general manager of marketing Pei-Wen Hsu explains that Chinese customers have very high demands specifically in the areas of craftsmanship, fit and finish.

Lincoln proved to be growing the most in the United States in 2014, outpacing its larger rivals. Lincoln grew 16 percent last year – faster than BMW, Lexus and Audi – thanks to its newly launched MKC crossover. In fact, the MKC has not been in the market for a year, but it was the largest reason for Lincoln’s feat of achieving a fifth consecutive year of growth.
Sale of MKC sales accounted for 102 percent of Lincoln's total sales increase for 2014 -- 13,077 MKCs were sold while the brand's overall sales jumped 12,780 vehicles. The brand will try to continue the MKC momentum by launching this fall a redesigned MKX, which was unveiled at the Detroit auto show in January.

Ford and Lincoln will be among the carmakers deciding to pass on advertising during the broadcast of the Super Bowl. So far, only six brands -- BMW, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota -- are expected to advertise during the big game while others have yet to confirm or declare plans. Eleven auto brands ran spots in the 2014 edition of the Super Bowl.
That year, Ford aired a pre-game commercial to push the Ford Fusion hybrid. On the other hand, Lincoln’s last spot in the big game was in 2013, when it allowed the Twitter community to “steer the script” through suggestions of how the ad should play out.
Matt VanDyke, director of global Lincoln, told Automotive News in November 2014 that the American luxury carmaker will not advertise in the 2015 Super Bowl, even though it has launched several high-profile campaigns in recent years.Read the entire article Ford and Lincoln confirm absence in 2015 Super Bowl
Strong demand for the Cadillac Escalade SUV amid has prompted the carmaker to increase its output. According to Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen, production of Escalades at GM’s Arlington, Texas, assembly site will be expanded to bring over 2,000 more SUVs – which means the luxury brand has an annual supply of 32,000 trucks.
In 2013, Cadillac managed to sell 30,469 MY2014-2015 Escalade and Escalade ESV models. Supply for the Escalade has been tight since its launch last year, with dealers saying that customers who purchased the SUV had to wait for a month or more before receiving their units since the vehicles were being held at the plant for quality inspections and last-minute fixes.
GM product chief Mark Reuss remarked that the carmaker has taken extra time to get the SUV’s hand-stitched interior right. “We’re learning how to make that at rate with high quality,” Reuss said.Read the entire article Cadillac hikes output of Escalade SUV over strong demand
