The much-awaited car event this season will showcase Citroen Racing’s C3 WRC Concept. We have to say; we’re also just as excited to see it compete in the upcoming Monte-Carlo Rally next year. Citroen’s return to the FIA World Rally Championship definitely opens new challenges both for the French car manufacturer and the racing team.
Citroen has already won three world championship titles in the previous years. The brand is also set to take home its 3rd manufacturer’s title with its very own C-Elysée. Currently, Citroen has 96 record wins and 8 manufacturer’s titles under its belt. This only proves how Citroen is bent on winning another major title with the new C3 model. Good thing, the racing team is already preparing for the FIA WRC and is more daring than ever.
Although Citroen is bringing the new C3 in this year’s motor show in Paris, we just found out they have yet to finalise other details for the racecar version. Still, the world will see it up close for the first time and that would be enough to give everyone an impression of what to expect after the final touches.Read the entire article Citroen introduces 2017 C3 WRC with highly promising concept

PSA/Peugeot-Citroen is intending to shift production of its next C3 subcompact from France to Trnava, Slovakia, sources privy with the carmaker told Reuters. PSA is shifting production of low-margin small cars away from western Europe, where output costs are deemed too high.
The carmaker is currently building the C3 at its Poissy plant near Paris. The subcompact is Citroen's No. 1 model in Europe, selling 48,614 units in the first four months of 2014 and accounting for over 20 percent of the brand’s sales in the continent, according to JATO Dynamics.
One of the sources told Reuters that PSA is commencing technical operations on the Citroen C3 in the coming weeks in Trnava, Slovakia. Two other sources confirmed that PSA has already determined to produce the new C3 in Trnava, Slovakia.Read the entire article PSA to shift output of next Citroen C3 from France to Trnava, Slovakia
PSA/Peugeot-Citroen will end production of its Citroen C3 subcompact at its Aulnay plant near Paris in early November, much earlier than the carmaker had initially intended. Some parts production, however, will continue on the Aulnay site beyond the planned closure date. PSA had initially intended shut down production at its Aulnay site in 2014.
According to spokeswoman for the carmaker, the production line is being shut down early since around half of Aulnay's 2,800 workers have already been transferred to other sites, including Poissy. She remarked that "soon there will not be enough staff left to sustain vehicle assembly."
PSA's Poissy site, which produces the Peugeot 208 subcompact, will build the Citroen C3, which is the brand's best-selling car in Europe in the first seven months. PSA sold 62,829 Citroen C3s in the first seven months of 2013, compared to 102,823 in the same period in 2012.Read the entire article PSA to end production of Citroen C3 at Aulnay in November

A recall has been issued for over 20,000 units of Citroen C3 Picasso cars in the U.K. for an unusual problem leading to sudden and unexpected braking. BBC News said that the brakes of the right-hand-drive models of the C3 Picasso can be applied if the front seat passengers push against the floor.
The original design of the C3 Picasso was for it to be a left-hand-drive car for mainland Europe. However, the controls were transferred to the right side for U.K. sale.
The problem stems from the fact that the right-hand brake pedal is connected via a cable to a vestigial brake pedal mechanism positioned in the passenger-side footwell. The C3 Picasso has started selling in the U.K. two years ago but this problem has only recently been discovered.Read the entire article Citroen C3 recalled for…passenger brake
Just days before the start of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, French manufacturer Citroen released the first images of the newest version of the C3, dubbed Red Block. Citroen meant for the Red Block to be a “rebel version of the city car.” It has been fitted with special features that make it different from its rivals.
Citroen has yet to reveal what is powering the C3; however, on Facebook, the C3 was shown to have lowered suspension, red 17 inch wheels, mat Thorium tint and 3D Bulldog carved dashboard.
It’s obvious that this special version is aimed at the young segment of the market as it has been given a makeover that gives it a distinct look compared to the regular production version of the model. So far, this is all that Citroen has revealed. Further details will be released through Citroen’s Facebook page.Read the entire article Citroen releases photos of C3 Red Block, opens order book for DS4
