Infiniti will commence sales of the new 2019 Infiniti QX50 in the spring, with a starting price of $36,550. But before the big launch, Infiniti has introduced a new reservation program that will allow customers to rack up luxurious rewards. But this pre-launch reservation rewards program isn't just about making customers happy, but also about increasing the hype and sales of the new 2019 Infiniti QX50.
Designed to rack up more reservations, the pre-launch reservation rewards program for the 2019 QX50 is divided into three tiers. Once a tier is unlocked by reaching a certain number of reservations, it opens up certain luxury rewards for customers. Unlocking the second tier and the third tier means upgraded luxury gifts for customers.
The first tier unlocks when the luxury carmaker receives more than 4,000 reservations. This was easily reached, and according to Infiniti USA’s Web site, the luxury carmaker has already taken 8,032 reservations (as of this writing). This meant that the second tier of luxury rewards has already been unlocked at 8,000 reservations. For the third tier to be unlocked, the total reservations received by Infiniti for the 2019 QX50 need to reach 12,000.Read the entire article Infiniti introduces 3-tier reservation rewards program, US price for 2019 QX50
Chinese brand Byton officially unveiled the production version of its Byton Concept during the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas. With this, the brand hopes to soon enter the U.S. market.
For those unfamiliar with the company, Byton was launched as a new brand of China-based Future Mobility Corp. last year. Its current CEO is Carsten Breitfeld, who was previously the i vehicle program lead of BMW.
The production version presented during the 2018 CES shows an exterior that has been styled with subtle design cues that give one the impression of being inspired by Land Rover and Nissan. The interior however is a different story. While most standard models have an infotainment and instrument cluster, Byton’s offering instead has a single-pane that goes through the whole length of its dashboard. Mounted on the center of the steering is an 8-inch tablet. Meanwhile, the seats have the ability to rotate as much as 12 degrees inward.Read the entire article Byton shows preview of production EV at 2018 CES
Volkswagen recently launched a teaser video of what they will be launching in the next 12 months. And one of the models they featured was the T-Cross. This confirms that the production version of the model will finally be able to join us later this year as the automaker’s smallest crossover to date.
Here is the thing, the video is merely a brief teaser of each of their upcoming cars and that they did not provide specific details about when or where the T-Cross could make an official debut. However, based on the latest speculations, it might come out sometime earlier in the year. We might actually be able to see it debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March. If you remember, it was back in 2016 that VW first premiered the T-Cross Breeze concept as a preview for their smallest crossover.
However, unlike the concept that we saw two years ago, the production version will not be a droptop. And from the spy shots we saw earlier, the road-going variant has been going through tests in the snow. The vehicle looks like a smaller version of the Tiguan, the automaker’s existing SUV. While it does share the same MQB platform as the polo, it is a shorter version of it.Read the entire article Expect VW T-Cross to arrive in Europe dealerships in 2018 and in the US by 2019
The Audi Q3, also known as the smallest crossover option in the United States, is getting a new upgrade, with an overall sportier look. This is because the automaker will introduce a new Sport trim to the lineup next year. Though it is a “Sport” trim, do not expect it to perform better because the sporty upgrades are only limited to the exterior. Having said that, it focuses more on convenience features and styling.
For those who are interested, the 2018 Audi Q3 Sport Premium can be had for $34,875 (including $975 destination fee). That makes it $1,000 more expensive than the standard Q3. You are probably wondering what upgrades you will get with the additional $1000. Well, this trim includes new exterior treatments like 19-inch 10-spoke wheels and brushed matte aluminum inlays. This goes with a power tailgate, mirrors that automatically dim, and proximity key with the $1,350 Convenience Package equipped.
The higher trim, which is the Sport Premium Plus, on the other hand, costs a little more at $36,775 for 2018. If you will include the optional technology package, that will cost you an extra $1,200. This trim features a Bose audio system and other fancy things. And for those who would like to go for the sporty luxury option, there is the range-topping S Line Competition Package that comes loaded with features as well as blacked out design touches. But naturally, this costs a little more too.Read the entire article 2018 Audi Q3 will receive Competition Package, Sport trim in the United States
Ever since BMW unveiled the first-ever BMW X2 sports activity coupe, the German premium carmaker has already gained the interest of luxury customers in the United States willing to wait until spring 2018 before they could get behind its wheel.
While BMW said that it would announce the pricing of the 2018 X2 near its market launch, order guides gathered by CarsDirect, showed that the sharply styled SAV would have a price that starts at just below $40,000 – or $39,395 including the $995 destination charge. This price applies to base model of this SAV, the 2018 X2 xDrive28i and represents a premium of $2,500 over the X1 xDrive28i at $36,895.
At a few hundred dollars below $40,000, the X2 xDrive28i is powered by the latest generation 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine with a twin-tailpipe design. Employing TwinScroll turbocharger, High Precision Direct Injection, Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing and VALVETRONIC fully variable valve lift, this engine is able to 228 hp of max output between 5,000 rpm and 6,000 rpm and 258 lb.-ft. of peak torque available between 1,450 rpm and 4,500 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via an eight -speed Steptronic automatic transmission, with distribution managed by the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. The X2 xDrive28i is estimated to be able to accelerate from nil to 60 mph in just 6.3 seconds.Read the entire article 2018 BMW X2 xDrive28i will arrive in the US next spring with base price of $39,395
As part of its new electrification strategy, German carmaker Volkswagen is working to finalize the production version of the Volkswagen I.D. Crozz SUV concept and introduce the new vehicle to the United States in 2020. This goal was further confirmed when the Volkswagen I.D. Crozz – along with the I.D. Buzz concept -- made its North American debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Volkswagen first unveiled the I.D. Crozz Concept at the 2017 Auto Shanghai in China. The carmaker then updated the concept and took the wraps off it at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. As revealed, the I.D. Crozz features a size similar to the 2018 Tiguan but with the shape of a four-door coupe. The updated I.D. impresses both masculinity and dynamism thanks to its wide bonnet, cleanly contoured wings as well as a roof with a high-gloss black exterior finish.
Its LED headlights generate an unmistakable light graphic and give the I.D. Crozz its own identity both day and night. The concept features an unusual door layout in which the front doors hinge and the rear ones slide back. The B-pillar has been removed to allow the doors to open wide and make it easier for passengers to access the cabin.Read the entire article VW reaffirms plans to offer I.D. Crozz-based electric crossover in the US by 2020
Have you been thinking of getting your hands on a Grandland X crossover, but you hesitate because it isn’t powerful enough for you? Well, you always have the option to head to an aftermarket tuner to have it modified or you can opt for Opel’s new solution. You could get the flagship 2.0 liter diesel in the model’s engine lineup, paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic gearbox for a price of €37,320.
Let us get into its major details. First of all, the new trim is able to generate 177 horsepower (130 kilowatts) at 3,750 rpm, as well as a peak torque of 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-metres) at low 2,000 rpm. So far, it acts as the automaker’s most powerful engine available for the Grandland X. For the sake of comparison, it has 47 horsepower (35 kilowatts) more than the current Grandland X with the 1.2 liter turbo gasoline unit that carries out 130 horsepower (96 kilowatts) and 169 pound-feet (230 Newton metres) of torque. That should be enough power to give the freedom-loving crossover all the power it needs.
If you are a speed lover, like many of us are, this upgrade should keep you satisfied. It can do the 0-62 mile per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) sprint in 9.1 seconds. But as an SUV owner, what you would really prioritize is the maximum trailer load, and this model can carry up to two tons. When it comes to efficiency, the NEDC measured that the vehicles need about 4.8 to 4.9 liters for every 100 kilometers (48-49 miles per gallon) on average, combined with corresponding CO2 emissions of 126-128 grams CO2 per kilometer.Read the entire article 2018 Opel Grandland X now gets a new range-topping diesel model, Ultimate trim
Infiniti said it will be unveiling its most advanced and most compelling vehicle so far at the upcoming 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. While the premium carmaker didn’t say that this will be the final production version of its 2019 Infiniti QX50, there has been belief and it is highly likely that this reveal pertains to this particular mid-size sports utility vehicle.
Even before Infiniti reveals the 2019 QX50 – if it would really be the QX50 – the premium carmaker has already leaked a number of details about the next-generation of its mid-size SUV. Most of these details were made known through the Infiniti QX50 Concept that was unveiled at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
As Infiniti revealed, the new 2019 QX50 will be powered by the VC-Turbo engine, which is the first production-ready variable compassion ratio unit. VC-Turbo technology amazingly combines the power of a high-performance 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with the torque levels and efficiency of a diesel mill. Already production-ready, the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine offers an alternative to diesel mill, as it could adapt its compression ratio to driving conditions; thereby deliver optimized levels of performance and efficiency. Depending on driving conditions, the engine’s compression ratio could be between 8:1 (for high performance) and 14:1 (for high efficiency).Read the entire article 2019 Infiniti QX50 arrives with new VC-Turbo engine, new platform and Nissan’s ProPilot assist system
Lincoln has some good news for fans and enthusiasts of its Lincoln MKC – the premium brand’s small sports utility is getting a refresh for the 2019 model year. Among the updates are some new styling elements, increased connectivity, and more driver-focused technologies.
The premium carmaker introduced the MKC in 2014 (as a 2015 model), and since then the small SUV has been successful in bringing in new customers from other brands. Lincoln noted that nearly half of its new customers are conquest sales.
With the current looks of the MKC making waves in the small SUV segment and attracting new customers, Lincoln perhaps has decided to keep most of the present formula and implement a few styling updates while adding new innovations to further gain more sales.Read the entire article Lincoln refreshes MKC small SUV for 2019 with some restyling and new tech
While the Volvo XC40 isn’t new anymore to European buyers, it’s only now that the Swedish brand’s smallest SUV will be brought to the United States. The Volvo XC40 SUV will make its American debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show, together with what the company refers to as a new “subscription-based” car buying experience.
To enlighten you guys, the program called “Care by Volvo” is a car-buying service that will make purchasing a car as simple as owning a cell phone. Hakan Samuelson (Volvo CEO) and Anders Gustafsson (Volvo President) are both scheduled to talk about this new system on November 29 in the city of angels, so people would have a clearer understanding of it. Of course, they will show off the subscription service together with the new XC40 for the first time in North America.
In a recent interview with Gustafsson, he said that California is the place where technology cultures and transportation meet. He then added that the Los Angeles Auto Show will be the ideal place for them to introduce something like this, where both worlds are involved. The president also gave us a tidbit about the purpose of this new service, explaining that Care by Volvo, alongside the new SUV, will make life less complicated for their customers.Read the entire article Volvo XC40 will make its debut in the United States at 2017 LA Auto Show
Audi Sport, a division of Audi, has long made it known that it will be expanding its lineup in the coming years. The main focus though would be on releasing new SUVs with the RS Q5 leading the way and revealed to be already in the pipeline.
Those who are familiar with this luxurious crossover know that the first generation was never given the entire RS treatment. The company disclosed that the latest model will likely be different with the RS Q5 expected to be released sometime in 2018. The problem however is that some customers, even loyal ones, may not be willing to wait that long. This is where ABT enters the picture.

Finally, BMW’s crossover lineup has been completed after the sixth member, the all new X2, rolls off the production line. According to its name, the X2 sits between the entry level X1 and the slightly larger X3 in the hierarchy. Surprisingly, it is actually slightly smaller in size compared to the X1. The Bavarian automaker’s newest sport utility vehicle is three inches shorter in length and is three inches lower in height.
The X2 was made with the intention to focus more on style than practicality. A lot of its mechanical features were based on the X1, as well as the MINI Countryman. This already includes the platform it is based on, that is the UKL2 - a chassis that restricts the car to a four-cylinder engine.
For the United States market, customers could get the BMW X2 in a TwinPower 2.0 liter four-cylinder that produces 228 horsepower (170 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (349 Newton-metres) of torque. This engine is then paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox that channels the cars power to all four wheels. We are not expecting to see an M version of the X2 as of now, and maybe not anytime soon.Read the entire article X-Tomi wastes no time in creating rendering of BMW X2 M shortly after release
Many are wondering if BMW has an X2, as the German premium carmaker already offers the X1 and the X3 sports activity vehicles. The answer is both yes and no. Yes, BMW is now introducing the newest member of its X family, the X2 sports activity coupe. It is also a no, since the new BMW X2 won't be available to the public until spring of 2018.
The new BMW X2 combines the fast-moving forms and low-slung proportions of a coupe and the robust volumes of a BMW X model. Its looks and proportions are defined by its short overhangs, a stretched, coupe-style roofline as well as slim window graphic. Furthermore, the new X2 features a muscular look, as made possible by the fact that although it is shorter (by 3.2 inches) and lower (by 2.8 inches) than the BMW X1, it has the same wheelbase.
New X2 could also be availed in a sportier flavor, in the guise of the BMW X2 M Sport X. This version of the X2 combines design elements from BMW M and the BMW X family, as inspired by rally cars. To distinguish the BMW X2 M Sport X from the X2, the rally-inspired version offers optional 20-inch wheel, a lower ride height (by a half-inch), stiffer springs and damper tuning as well as distinct bumper styling.Read the entire article BMW introduces the X2 sports activity coupe
Suzuki will be introducing a range of new concepts for the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show and one of them is the Xbee (or Crossbi as how you’re supposed to say it) that bears similarities with Toyota’s FJ Cruiser. From the outside, the tiny Xbee (or Suzuki’s own mini version of the FJ Cruiser) seems to have drawn its design inspiration from the Hustler minivan J Style II concept from 2015.
For this year, Suzuki’s Spacia tall minivans will be joining the Xbee on stage at 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. The Xbee will be arriving there in black Street Adventure trim along with Xbee’s beige colored Outdoor Adventure. There’s also one variant that’s yellow with a black colored roof.
According to the Japanese car manufacturer, the crossover is designed primarily for different people with different lifestyles. The Xbee is perfect for those who love driving close to nature or around the city. The small crossover wagon features SUV-like bumpers with plastic protectors to further enhance the adventurous image it wants to convey. With its ample space, the Xbee not only functions like an SUV but is also fun and easy to drive.Read the entire article Suzuki will bring three Xbee concepts at 2017 Tokyo Motor Show
Suzuki will once again drive us far ahead into the future at the upcoming 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Collectively known as the future of the compact sport utility truck, the e-Survivor Concept will be featuring a two-seat open cockpit with hints of Jimny and Vitara’s styling cues. While the truck-like ladder body frame is quite similar to a Jeep Wrangler at first impression, the e-Survivor also has some very unique designs by incorporating glowing wheels and clear view side doors into the concept.
The images released ahead of the premiere show us what appears to be an off-road capable SUV with highly sufficient ground clearance and wheels that extend more than the actual width of the vehicle. Think of the old X-90 and Samurai if there are no other ways to describe it. Sitting on a small wheelbase of 2300mm, it is said to come with measurements of 3460mm long, 1645mm wide and 1655 tall. There isn’t a lot to say yet except it does have an integrated electric propulsion and all-wheel drive system with individual hub motors on each wheel. It is likely to employ lightweight materials and show some excellent approach and departure angles.
Since Suzuki’s latest off-road concept should also have the most futuristic cabin design, the e-Survivor is equipped with a full-width digital display that sits just below the windshield. If you think that’s enough, there is one more at the dashboard facing the passenger side, another one at the steering wheel and a couple more could be found between the seats along the center. Both the entertainment and navigation system use a spherical display which is located on top of the center console. The built-in climate control vents instead are mounted on the seats. All said, the specs of the battery and power output up to now remain a mystery.Read the entire article Suzuki e-Survivor Concept to debut at 2017 Tokyo Motor Show
The Infiniti QX50 compact crossover has been in the market since 2014, and has not been given a facelift since then. After being in the market for almost four years, the SUV will be needing some updates to keep up with its competitors, though the company did say that the update will come in 2019, and that they will completely skip the 2018 model year.
This statement was confirmed by Infiniti on Tuesday when they said that they are not considering a 2018 model year QX50, but will focus on a better version of the vehicle for the 2019 model year, says Motor Authority. Engineers and designers will make sure that the new SUV will resemble the QX50 Concept we saw earlier this year at Detroit.
Right now, you are probably wondering what to expect from the 2019 model year. Well, sources say that it will come powered by Infiniti’s new Variable Compression-Turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine that they refer to as VC-Turbo - this was first previewed last August. For improved performance and fuel economy, the technology changes the cylinder compression ratio. As for performance, the first production unit is unfortunately less powerful than the 3.7-liter V6 found on the outgoing QX50 with 325 horsepower (242 kilowatts). That being said, it has 268 horsepower (200 kilowatts) and 288 pound-feet (390 Newton-metres) of torque.Read the entire article Infiniti halts production of QX60 hybrid, skips 2018 QX50 for new 2019 model
The BMW X2 will be the company’s next entry-level compact crossover to join the lineup. And because of that, it needs to up its game so it makes sense for the automaker to make it look more stylish, while giving it some hype. This is why the prototype will be dressed in digital camouflage when it makes an appearance at the Milan Fashion Week. Though we cannot completely see the design of the headlights and tail lights, the X2’s shape is pretty much what we should expect in the production specification.
Unlike the usual camouflage that most companies use, this is the second time the German automaker dressed the X2 in digital camouflage - combining a mix of yellow, gray, black, and blue in random shapes, instead of the orange and black camouflage. What makes this unique camouflage cool is that it unusually highlights the sporty and stylish qualities of the model more than hiding it.
Many say that the production version of the X2 is not as physically sleek as the earlier concept, and that the new design makes it resemble the X1 family more. We can see that it features angled-in headlights with inner LED piping, wide dual kidney grilles, paired with fog lights mounted high in the fascia.Read the entire article Check out the BMW X2 in its digital camo suit on the streets of Milan
With the introduction of the new Volvo XC40, the carmaker is now able to cover three size sections of the global SUV market, which is considered as the fastest growing segment. Volvo is hoping that the new XC40 would allow it to take advantage of the ever-growing demand for SUVs around the world, enabling it to rake in more sales and become more profitable.
At launch, the new Volvo XC40 will be available in various trim levels, like the Momentum and R-Design. The entry-level trim and range-topping Inscription versions are due to be introduced later after the launch. XC40 models with the Momentum trim are provided, as standard, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a nine-inch touch screen infotainment system with navigation.
Also standard are LED headlights, Sensus Connect Internet, dual-zone climate control and rear parking assist as well as leather heated front seats and 18-inch alloy wheels. When the R-Design trim is availed, twin exhaust tips and a lowered sport suspension is provided. The R-Design trim also includes leather and aluminum trim in the cabin with black highlights on the exterior.Read the entire article 2018 Volvo XC40 small premium SUV makes its official debut
At the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen revealed the all-electric I.D. Crozz II Concept as a way to tell the audience that they are pushing through with electrification in 2020. At first glance, the design of this concept will remind you of the earlier I.D. Crozz. The compact crossover picks up design cues from it, but is more stylish and eye-catching with its two-tone colour scheme. The one we are seeing live is finished in a Hibiscus Red Metallic paint and a silver roof.
Herbert Diess, Volkswagen CEO said in his statement that their company focuses on making technology more accessible to people. He also said that the Golf of the future must still be the people’s car.
Better than the first concept, the Crozz II aesthetically looks better with its new and cleaner headlights, getting rid of the louver-like strips of LED lights. The contrast that the two-tone paint gives really helped with the vehicle’s design, especially from the rear three-quarters perspective. There is a nice balance between the silver roof and the red body, making it really stand out from the crowd.Read the entire article VW I.D. Crozz II Concept looks more stylish than the previous electric crossover concept
If you are looking at purchasing a GMC crossover now, the least you will have to spend is about $25,970. That’s the price of the 2018 Terrain model that is known for its controversial shifter. If you’re in the market for something else and you don’t mind waiting a few more years, here’s some good news. Duncan Aldred, Vice President of Buick and GMC, stated in his interview with Automotive News that they are currently evaluating a new entry-level crossover. If this is given the go signal, then expect to spend less on a smaller crossover in the coming years.
Aldred believes that it would be logical to add a smaller CUV to the family as a way to expand the company’s lineup. In doing so, the brand also provides a more affordable option compared to the 2018 Terrain. In another interview, he was also asked regarding models that would directly rival the upcoming Jeep Wrangler, and he said that the entry-level crossover would not compete with the Jeep as it is positioned in another segment. But he did say that there may be an opportunity for them in that segment, if the model gets the stamp of approval. The company actually admitted that they should have been the first to lead the small crossover segment.
The reason why the company is considering a model slotted under the Terrain might actually be because of the Encore’s success - this is the Opel Mokka’s North American sibling. The Encore had been the top-selling model of Buick since 2015. If GMC pushes through with their plan to come up with a smaller crossover, they will definitely attract the younger market, as this will cost thousands of dollars less than the Terrain’s starting price. Furthermore, GMC will have more opportunities to rival Jeep models, with the Renegade starting at $17,995 and the Compass at $20,995. Those two are already lower-priced options compared to the GMC Terrain.Read the entire article GMC hopes to reel in younger buyers with small crossover
