Pricing starts at $25,970 for 2018 GMC Terrain

General Motors crossover retail sales grew an impressive 20% last month, and recorded a 15% hike for the first 4 months of this year thanks to the performance of today's GMC line-up. Its sales are anticipated to further increase around summer with the launching of the brand new 2018 GMC Terrain. Now the American automaker has officially announced the pricing details of its upcoming crossover.

After 9 years on the market, GMC has finally decided to revamp its two-row Terrain, considered to be a slightly swankier variant of the Chevrolet's Equinox. The given price tag will get you the base SL model, which boasts of features such as proximity key with push button start, a leather covered steering wheel, LED taillights and daytime running lights. The next-gen Terrain will have a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $25,970, which includes the $975 destination charge. Terrain SL is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5 L 4-cylinder engine that will produce around 170 hp delivered to the front wheels by a 9 speed automatic transmission.

Those who prefer all-wheel drive will have to dish out $28,795 for the special luxury edition (SLE) trim. This option will require an additional $1,750 to the standard price. By choosing the SLE, buyers get the turbo-diesel 1.6 L engine that is paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission. Its 137 hp diesel inline 4 forces a solid 240 lb-ft of torque, a hugely impressive feat. However, it costs an extra $3,770 to get the SLE. The price rises to $34,315 if buyers opt for the AWD unit.

A more powerful 3.6-liter V6 engine is available for $1,500. The cost of the V-6 also includes an upgrade from 18- to 19-inch chrome-clad wheels. 2013 GMC Terrain crossover gets Denali trim level, bigger V-6 engine

General Motors has revealed that the 2013 GMC Terrain crossover, which will be available for sale this fall, will have an upscale Denali trim level as well as a more powerful and bigger V-6 engine. The move is part of GMC's plan to expand the Denali to all the automobiles in its range. The new engine displaces 3.6 liters. It is rated at 301 hp and 272 lb-ft of torque.

This engine replaces the 2012 Terrain's 3.0-liter V-6, which is rated at 264 hp and 222 lb-ft of torque. The new V6 will still be matched with GM's 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission. The automaker explained that even with the larger engine, the 2013 GMC Terrain will have a fuel economy of 16 mpg city /23 mpg highway for the all-wheel-drive version and 17/24 mpg for the front-drive variant. This is the same fuel economy as the 2012 V-6 model.

For the base versions of the Terrain, the automaker will continue to utilize the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. GMC dealers have revealed that they cannot meet the customer demand for the Terrains with the four-cylinder engine. In the last two months, the automaker has limited dealer orders for the four-cylinder variants of the Terrain as well as the mechanically similar Chevrolet Equinox, according to the report of Automotive News.

GMC to unveil the Terrain Denali this year as a 2013 model

General Motors’ Denali line of upscale GMC trucks is being expanded to accommodate the Terrain crossover, which is its most in-demand vehicle at present. Sources say that GM wants to release a Denali version of the Terrain this year as a 2013 model. Last year, terrain sales increased by 37% to 83,179 --the largest gain among the seven nameplates of GMC.

A GM spokesman opted not to comment if GM intends to add a Denali-trim version for the Terrain or other GMC models. GM is undertaking this move to even reap more success from the top-trim Denali line. In fact, GM global marketing chief Joel Ewanick considers this lineup to be such a thriving one that he calls it “a brand within a brand.” For several years, the Denali badge was only offered for the GMC Yukon SUV, Sierra 1500 light-duty pickup and the Envoy SUV, which was discontinued in 2009.

GM’s 2011 model lineup was expanded with a Denali version of the GMC Acadia full-sized crossover and Sierra heavy-duty pickups (the 2500 and 3500). These added versions aided in boosting sales of Denali-badged vehicles by 79% last year. They also contributed to GMC's overall sales going up by 19%.

GMC’s new Terrain and Acadia will be receiving dark suits for the 2019 model year in the Black Edition variant. The new SUVs not only will get a dark exterior trim, but this will be complemented by some glossy black highlights. This unique package will go on sale this summer, but we do not know yet how much it will be priced.

If you were wondering, the Black Edition package will be available on the Terrain’s SLE and SLT grades of the SUV. What comes with this package is a set of 19 inch gloss black wheels with five sets of dual spokes. Up front, the grille gets a dark insert and matching surround.

The exterior is adorned with black trim, from the side mirror caps to the roof rails. If black is not your favourite colour, there is no need to worry as you do not have to get the Black Edition in black, or what GMC refers to as the Ebony Twilight Metallic. Other available colours for the exterior include Summit White, Graphite Gray Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic, and Sedona Metallic.

American automaker General Motors is looking forward in regards to the Buick's new luxury sub brand future performance, if it will be at par with the success of GMC's line-up of Denali badged vehicles.

GMC'S Denali line-up, with its mixed chromed-up exteriors and French-stitched leather bolstered seat has worked wonders and is considered as the second U.S. luxury trademark for General Motors. The reported sales of the Denali was in the same level as the Acura and Cadillac the previous month and generated a higher transaction costs than Lexus and Audi.

Now GM is hopeful that the Avenir can replicate the GMC's Denali's success. The new luxury sub brand made its debut with its 2018 Enclave crossover at the New York Auto Show. GM will also apply the same formula utilized at Buick to the Avenir, hoping to add a dauntless grille, flashier wheels and a more comfy interior that will be cleansed by cabin-air ionizer.

The upscale version of the GMC Yukon body-on-frame sport utility vehicle – the GMC Yukon Denali – has been refreshed for the 2018 model year. It now sports a new grille for a more expressive front end, a new interior trim for more depth, as well as a new 10-speed transmission for a more refined performance.

Although this is a refresh of the GMC Yukon Denali, it is enticing enough to attract new and even returning customers. First off, the 2018 iteration of the GMC Yukon Denali has a new grille that is flanked by HID headlamps and LED Signature Lighting. This is an evolved version of the iconic Denali grille, featuring a more sculpted and layered appearance.

Matt Noone, director for Global GMC Exterior Design, remarked that the new grille advances the design legacy that was set by original Yukon Denali in 1999. He noted that while the new grille features a more exciting and sophisticated design, it allows the Yukon Denali to be immediately recognizable as a member of the GMC Denali family.

We’re not at all surprised after GMC introduced an all-new 2018 Terrain at this year’s Detroit Auto Show. To start with, the compact crossover is considered to be one of the brand’s best sellers. Since it has been ages since it was initially launched, there could never be a much better time for a change. Yes, finally, after eight long years, the crossover had its much needed facelift. GMC added not just one but three new turbocharged engines on the line-up. The interior has also been redesigned to match the new look of the exterior.

It’s very different from its sibling (the Chevrolet Equinox) even if the two are currently sharing the same platform. What GMC brought to the North American International Auto Show is a stunning compact crossover with swept back design, floating pillar and sloping roofline. By all means, the 2018 Terrain is a much sleeker version than the current model we have at the moment.

If we have to compare the latest with the current version, the length of GMC’s 2018 Terrain is shorter by 3.2 inches while its wheelbase is also shorter by 5.2 inches. As a result, the cargo space has decreased a little bit. But since the rear seats have been elevated while the back seats have been lowered, the total storage space has somehow increased from 29.6 to 63.3 cubic feet.

The 2017 GMC Canyon Denali made its public debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show. Set to start selling in late 2016, the 2017 Canyon Denali demonstrates how GMC is able to give the Canyon midsize truck the Denali treatment. In case you don’t know, Denali is what GMC refers to as its best expression of its styling, performance, and luxury.

This moniker is a reference to Mount Denali, the topmost peak in the North American region. According to Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing, the Canyon is the “first and only” premium midsize truck in its segment that delivers unrivalled capability and fuel economy as well as optimum refinement and handling.

Aldred also said that the 2017 Canyon Denali represents an improvement over the long line of vehicles that have had the Denali nameplate since it was launched almost 17 years ago. With the addition of a new 8-speed automatic transmission, the updated 2015 Yukon XL Denali and Yukon Denali from GMC now lead the market in terms of fuel economy, horsepower and torque. The 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V-8 engines of the Yukon XL Denali and Yukon Denali are now paired with the Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission. This addition makes the Denali more fuel-efficient than the 6-speed automatic.

The two-wheel drive Yukon Denali has an estimated EPA highway mileage of 22 mpg whereas the four-wheel drive now has an EPA city mileage estimate of 15 mpg. Within its category in the market, the Yukon Denali is unrivaled in delivering efficiency and power .The engine gives a peak of 420 horsepower with 460 lb-ft of maximum torque. This results in a highway fuel economy that is at par or even better than the 6-cylinder or 8-cylinder engines of its competitors.

The Yukon Denali’s new 8L90 transmission has smaller steps between its gears making the engine more efficiently leverage the peak power bands. With a wide gearing, this allows the use of a lower rear axle ratio of 3.23:1, reducing both fuel consumption and engine speed while cruising on the highway. The improvement in fuel economy has not compromised in any way the capability and comfort expected from a Yukon.

The 2015 GMC Canyon is already hitting the dealerships as deliveries started this month and looking at the numbers we must admit that it will be a hit, just like the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. According to Aldred, engineers and designers are already working on that. Although there are no details, we expect the GMC Canyon Denali to arrive with the same enhancements seen on the other Denali models including a bolder grille and aluminum interior trim.

If you don’t already know, the 2015 GMC Canyon is currently priced from $21,880, including the $925 destination charges.

A GMC dealer in Shanghai is offering five tons of free gas as an incentive for buying the new GMC Sierra Denali. While other dealerships typically offer cash rebates or low interest loans, this dealer wanted to entice customers who are feeling the pinch of rising fuel prices in China. Its government has loosened its restrictions, which had kept fuel prices down.

he fuel prices in Beijing and China are approaching the levels in the U.S. This actually isn’t the first time that free gas has been used to raise sales. In the U.S., Chrysler and a few other automakers have made this offer in the past. The Sierra Denali costs about $134,000 so the average worker can’t afford it.

John McElroy, of Autoline Detroit, believes that this is because even the wealthy people are becoming more concerned as well about the increasing fuel costs. What the Shanghai dealer is offering is equivalent to slightly lower than 2,000 gallons of gasoline. There are 2,200 pounds in a metric ton and a gallon of gas is about six pounds.

Due to increasing popularity of the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain crossovers with four-cylinder engines, General Motors is having problems keeping up the supplies with the high demand. For two months, GM has been forced to restrict dealer orders for 2.4-liter four-cylinder vehicles, which account for a majority of Equinox and Terrain sales.

The restriction has prompted several dealers to order more 3.0-liter V-6 models than they would have preferred amid the surging fuel prices. Jim Cain, GM spokesman, confirmed that the company has placed "temporary order limits" on four-banger versions of the Equinox and Terrain.

"It's a function of a strong industry, a hot vehicle and very robust demand for the four-cylinder model," Cain said, adding that the company is working with its suppliers to increase deliveries of key components to meet demand. GM already informed its dealers that the shortage is temporary, although it did not specify when it expects the problem to be solved.

General Motors has announced the recall of over 36,000 units of the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain small crossovers around the world. GM is tasked to fix the tire pressure monitoring system in these cars. The automaker said that due to this defect, the driver may not be informed when the tire pressure drops below federal standards. In a statement, GM said that underinflated tires can lead to overloading and overheating, which could result to a blowout and possible crash.

When tires are prematurely worn out, it could result to poor handling and fuel economy. Almost 34,000 of the vehicles covered in this recall are in the U.S. The remaining cars are spread out in Canada, Mexico and six countries located in the Middle East. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the vehicles were made between July 18 and Sept. 6 of 2011.

A warning light is supposed to show when the tire pressure is 25% lower than the recommended levels for cold tire pressure. In these vehicles being recalled, the warning light only turns on when the tire pressure has fallen more than 25% below recommended levels.
