2014 Dodge Durango rated by EPA at 25 mpg highway

Major upgrades were given to the 2014 Dodge Durango, which is on sale now. All models get a new eight-speed automatic. Because of this new transmission, the 2014 Durango is able to offer considerably improved EPA mileage ratings, enabling the rear-wheel-drive, six-cylinder 2014 Dodge Durango models to accomplish ratings as high as 18/25/20 mpg city/highway/combined.

Compared to the equivalent 2013 Dodge Durango, the new Durango has a higher rating by up to two mpg city and highway. The 2013 Durango had a rating of 16/23/19 mpg city/highway/combined when powered by the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine and rear-wheel-drive. On the other hand, the 2014 all-wheel-drive Durango V-6 models are better than last year’s models with a 17/24/19 mpg rating.

A 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 partnered to the eight-speed transmission is also offered on the 2014 Dodge Durango. Better fuel economy is offered on the 2014 Durango V-8 models on the highway, with rear-wheel-drive models getting ratings of 14/23/17 mpg and all-wheel-drive models getting 14/22/16. In comparison, the 2013 lineup recorded a highway rating of 20 mpg for both rear- and four-wheel-drive V-8 models.
