The Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior is the last concept that will be unveiled at the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari after the Cherokee Dakar Concept, Wrangler Level Red Concept, Wrangler Maximum Performance Concept, Cherokee Adventurer Concept and the Wrangler MOJO Concept.

Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior Concept takes the well-known SUV a step further thanks to a bunch of Jeep Performance Parts and Mopar accessories. The first difference saw by us when looking at the concept was the bigger height as the SUV is equipped with a Quadra-Lift air suspension.

Thanks to the Mojave Sand exterior color, the Satin Black is highlighted on the front grille, hood, lower front fascia, door handles, mirror caps, wheel flares and badging. Moreover, the prototype 20-inch cast aluminum wheels in Satin Black complement the exterior design, while the All-Terrain BFGoodrich tires provide a rugged look.

19 armored Jeep Grand Cherokees become part of Italian Carabinieri’s mobile fleet

Soon enough, some police officers in Italy would be chasing criminal in armored versions of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This comes as the Arma dei Carabinieri, an Italian military force charged with police duties, has ordered a fleet of 19 units of Jeep Grand Cherokee to keep them well-equipped to guard against criminals and catch them.

All-new, each of the newly ordered Jeep Grand Cherokee is dressed up and equipped to help the Carabanieri in their police work, especially in combating terrorism. The exterior of these special Jeep Grand Cherokee are wrapped in the force’s institutional blue livery, with clear and large Carabinieri letterings on the front and on the sides. Likewise, these special Jeep Grand Cherokee models come with all-new blue LED flashers on the tailgate, located beside the license plate.

To make these Jeep Grand Cherokee models capable of helping the Carabinieri, various parts were armored. These armored parts include the windscreen, side window and body, as well as their tires. Likewise, the suspension components of these tactical Jeep Grand Cherokees were reinforced, allowing them to have better on-road handling capabilities. As a result of these modifications, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has been transformed into a tactical vehicle that doesn’t just offer superb mechanical reliability to take on any mission while ensuring that members of the Carabinieri are safe and sound.

There are various challenges attached to creating a vehicle with an output of 707 horsepower. First of all, the vehicle will have to be constantly supplied with a generous stream of fuel. Apparently, that task proved to be too much for one of the suppliers of the components for the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the fuel lines of this Trackhawk could detach. And when that happens, not only will the 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine starve, but it will also start a fire.

Having said that, the FCA has reportedly recalled 1,242 units of these models in the United States to check and repair their fuel lines. The automaker estimates that these models were produced between October 10 during the beginning of the production and December 10, which is when a new quality control process was initiated. Lower versions of the Grand Cherokee are not affected here even if they have been furnished by the same supplier. This is because their fuel lines were made on a separate production line.

Jeep is obviously busy and has been seen all over the globe, from revealing the Grand Commander in China, preparing the Renegade for a facelift, and launching the refreshed Cherokee. But even with all these projects lined up, the automaker has not stopped from adding a new special edition version for its European market. We’re referring of course to the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee S that customers from several countries in Europe can already order.

What makes the range-topping edition of the Grand Cherokee stand out from the rest of its variants would be the fact that it sits on 20-inch wheels and it features blackened lower and upper grilles in the front bumper, tinted windows with black chrome surround, and dual exhausts with black chrome finish. When you enter its cabin, it seems to match the exterior with its blacked out details including the wood finishes and black instrument panel accent stitching. It also gets Anodized Gun Metal accents.

Customers have a wide array of choices when it comes to choosing an exterior colour for the Grand Cherokee S, with 10 different hues. There are also three engines including the entry-level version that is a 3.0 liter diesel that carries out 250 horsepower (186 kilowatts), a 3.6 liter V6 with naturally aspirated gasoline engine, with as much as 286 horsepower (213 kilowatts), and a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 with as much as 352 horsepower (262 kilowatts), which is considered to be the range topping model.

Hennessey will be dishing out another HPE1000 performance package this time exclusively for Jeep’s Grand Cherokee Trackhawk SUV. Think HPE’s 1000hp Exorcist (or something like that) that will amplify the SUV’s powerful performance. To that end, Hennessey will provide the Trackhawk’s already potent 6.2liter Hellcat V8 Hemi engine with an added boost of up to 14 psi coming from its 4.5 liter supercharger.

Not only this. The full-size SUV will also come equipped with a high flow air induction system, an upgraded fuel pump, a high-flow supercharger bypass valve, some upgraded fuel injectors and new stainless steel long tube headers. All of these will come with the necessary gaskets and fluids.

The enhanced ECU will likely increase its power to 1,012 hp at 6,500 rounds per minute and 969 pound feet of torque at 4,200 rpm. The Trackhawk could go from a zero to 60 miles per hour (96km/h) in 2.8 seconds before hitting the quarter mile in about 10.5 seconds or less at 133 miles per hour (214km/h). You will need Shell V-Power 93 octane gasoline to run this machine including Pennzoil Ultra Platinum synthetic oil for maintenance and filter change.

Jeep will open the order books for the new 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk on August 10, 2017 with a starting US Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $85,900. When the $1,095 destination is taken into account, the new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk gets a starting price of $86,995.

Since Jeep introduced the most powerful performance SUV – the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk – not a few were already wondering how much they need to take out from their wallets. This isn’t surprising considering that it would be hard to match the power emanating from its Hellcat V8 engine, pegged at more than 700 hp. With such a selling point, the starting MSRP for the 2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is justified.

Set to be built at Chrysler’s Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan, the new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is a performance monster in the world of sports utility vehicles. Jeep has gifted the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with a 6.2 liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine that could deliver 707 hp (527 kW) of max output and 645 pound-feet (875 Newton-meters) of peak torque. This monstrous power level is more than enough to make the performance SUV – weighing around 5,363 pounds (2,433 kg) – sprint from nil to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.5 seconds and reach a quarter mile in only 11.6 seconds. In terms of top speed, the new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is able to go as fast as 180 mph (290 km/h). It could also tow as much as 7,200 lbs.

Jeep has shown just how powerful the Grand Cherokee SRT truly is. Considered to be one of the brand’s top-performing vehicles, this model managed to beat the Hot Rod Coupe, fitted with the HEMI engine, in a quarter of a mile drag race done at the Santa Pod Raceway in the U.K.

Driven by none other than UK’s very own drag racing champion Stuart Doignie, the Grand Cherokee SRT crossed the line in 13.5 seconds beating the Coupe, with Kelvin Dunn inside, by 0.9 seconds. Not that surprising really since it is powered by the HEMI 6.4-liter engine. With Doignie’s skill, the engine was able to deliver 468 hp with acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds. For the quarter-mile stretch, the Grand Cherokee SRT was able to cover it in under 14 seconds.

Doignie said that he was truly captivated by the Grand Cherokee SRT’s speed and raw power. He added that while he been behind the wheel in a number of dragster vehicles running at the Santa Pod, this is the first time he has been in a model that was made for the road. It is extremely quick off the line, he said further.

For more than a year, Jeep has been preparing to launch the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and it has finally arrived and will be displayed at the 2017 New York Auto Show this week. The model will be in showrooms by the fourth quarter of this year, so you’ll have to wait just a little longer to drive this mean machine.

So what makes this Cherokee so special? Well, it has got a 6.2 liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine that yields 707 horsepower (527 kilowatts) and 645 pound-feet (875 Newton-metres) of torque. This power makes it possible to drive the monster, which weighs 5,363 pounds (2,433 kilograms), to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) in 3.5 seconds, plus it has a top speed of 180 miles per hour (290kph) that can go a quarter mile in just 11.6 seconds. Talk about a supercar in an SUV’s body. In fact, the company did say that the Trackhawk is the quickest and most powerful SUV they have produced ever.

2018 Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is available with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The four-wheel drive can vary the front-rear torque split depending on the drive mode in the Selec-Track system: including 40-60 in Auto, 50-50 in Snow, 30-70 in Track, and a few other modes. The Custom mode can let you adjust it to your personal preference. Each mode controls the transmission, suspension and steering.

Finally, the perfect SUV for the busiest cities! Don’t we all just want to avoid driving when it’s rush hour? Well, Jeep has the perfect answer to your problem with their new Hum Rider. Sadly, the monster truck is not for sale. But trust me, you would not want one anyway.

Why? First of all, it weighs 8,500 pounds, that is probably the heaviest I’ve heard an SUV weigh. Its base frame is a fully customized hydraulic rig that lifts all that weight, and widens the stance so it can drive over smaller vehicles. It is purely hydraulic. In fact, the whole thing, including its movement is controlled by 300 feet of high-pressure lines. The truck does not even have a Jeep’s engine, and is powered by a single Honda generator instead. The only cool thing about this is probably the camera that is attached to the bottom of the truck, giving it a view of what’s underneath it, making sure it doesn’t smash smaller vehicles.

It might look cool for you Transformers fans, with its ability to extend its legs and do jaw-dropping tricks, but imagine the hassle of getting a clearance to drive a vehicle like that. And who are we kidding, American roads are packed with SUVs, and I mean ninety to one. Bear in mind, this car can only go over the tiniest subcompacts (like a Ford Fiesta), and it doesn’t even have that much allowance. To be honest, with its fragile looking legs, it might collapse if a rugged pickup or truck accidentally latches on one of its legs. I hope you’ve changed your mind about wanting to buy the Hum Rider after reading all this.

Grand Cherokee has long been part of the Jeep brand. The company however wanted a model that was a 4x4 and able to offer a higher level of off-road capability through a wide-range of functional features, as well as having a tougher yet unique look.

The result was a Grand Cherokee Concept vehicle that carried the "Trailhawk" name. This concept vehicle was first presented to the public during the 2012 Easter Jeep Safari held in Moab, Utah.

When the 2014 Jeep Cherokee was later introduced, it paved the way for the production of the "Trailhawk" name. At that time, it became its most capable model compared to the Latitude, Limited, and Sport.

Chrysler Group is suspending production of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango at its Jefferson North Assembly plant for three weeks starting December 22 to upgrade its paint shop. The upgrade will allow the shop to create paint vehicles with more complex exterior colors.

Due to the suspension, Chrysler also suspended dealer orders of the Grand Cherokee and Durango in any color other than grayscale -- black, white, silver or gray -- until at least February. The production suspension will be the first time that the Jefferson North Assembly plant will stop operations for such an extended period since the carmaker collapsed into bankruptcy in 2009.

According to Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson, the upgrades at the paint shop will pave way for a new painting process that will enhance the way the Grand Cherokee and Durango are painted, adding that more colors could be created eventually and would slowly become available.

For the coming months, Chrysler dealers will not be able to order Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango in any color – except black, white, silver or gray -- until February as the carmaker upgrades the paint shop at its Jefferson North Assembly plant to pave way for more complex colors. Likewise, Chrysler will suspend auto production at the site for three week starting Dec. 22, 2014 to upgrade the paint shop.

According to Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson, the upgrade at the Jefferson North paint shop will be similar to the upgrades installed earlier at Chrysler’s Warren Truck and Sterling Heights assembly plants in Michigan.

She said that the new painting process will improve the way the Grand Cherokee and Durango are painted, and will allow for more colors. She remarked that once the new paint process is online, more colors will slowly become available.

So far, owners of only around 120,000 vehicles MY1993-MY1998 Grand Cherokees and MY2002-2007 Libertys have responded to Chrysler Group’s recall. As of early November, 96,449 Liberty and 22,943 Grand Cherokee owners had responded to the Chrysler’s recall letters and visited dealerships for service, disclosed spokesman Eric Mayne.

This has prompted the carmaker to further its efforts to reach owners of up to 1.6 million vehicles, who have to respond to Chrysler’s letter in August to bring in their units for inspection and possible installation of a free trailer hitch assembly.

The assembly should protect the gasoline tank in case of low-energy rear collisions. Mayne said that around a fourth of vehicles already brought in had adequate trailer hitch assemblies installed thus needing no additional service.

Hints regarding Chrysler Group’s plans for the SRT versions of the Chrysler 300 and Jeep Grand Cherokee are beginning to surface. For one, Chrysler have told dealers that they can order the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT for MY2015, which means this model would still be built and offered at least for that model year.

Chrysler Group, however, filed in July for a trademark on the name Trackhawk, which according to a source of Automotive News, could be used to dub the new Cherokee SRT as the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk in 2016. No final decision has been made.

The Grand Cherokee SRT -- Jeep's highest-priced base model -- is powered by a 475-hp, 6.4-liter Hemi V-8. To celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2016, Jeep is planning to build special editions of its vehicles.
