It appears that the Ferrari 458 Speciale what was unveiled back in September at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show made quite an impression and the news that the production of this vehicle is already sold out for this year convinced other carmakers to follow the same strategy. As a result, McLaren will offer an enhanced version of the MP4-12C that will deliver better on-road performance, exceeding that of the Ferrari 458 Speciale.
According to Autocar, McLaren declined to make any comment on this story, but an unknown source told the British magazine that the new vehicle will be based on the same carbonfibre Monocell as the 12C while the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine will be tuned to about 650 hp.
As expected, the new McLaren will have a slightly different design than the standard 12C and will take more styling influences from the range-topping McLaren P1 hybrid hypercar. Moreover, the interior will also be upgraded. Regarding the Ferrari 458 Speciale, this model is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 engine rated at 605 hp and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque.Read the entire article McLaren plans on a hardcore version of the 12C to take on Ferrari 458 Speciale
The richest of the rich is not just like any rich people you know, as these guys can multiply their money in a very short amount of period. You are probably wondering how they do this because you want to do it for yourself, but it isn’t that easy because you really have to be loaded. What they do is they invest their money in a super rare supercar, like the Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta. After some, they’re able to sell it for double or even triple its MSRP.
The Speciale, similar to the 360 Stradale and F430 Scuderia, was meant to become an even more hardcore version of Maranello’s mid-engine supercar. Surely, it’s an excellent piece of work with its naturally aspirated 4.5 liter V8 that carried out no less than 605 PS (597 horsepower) and 540 Nm (398 pound-feet) of torque, plus the number of modifications it has got.
With this engine, it is capable of accelerating from zero to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in only 3 seconds flat, before continuing to its maximum speed of 325 kilometers per hour (202 miles per hour). The car is very easy to handle and has a really sexy roar.Read the entire article 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta with 57 miles on odo is on sale for 3X its original price

At an auction held this weekend during Ferrari’s 60th anniversary celebrations in Beverly Hills, the first 458 Speciale Aperta was sold for a staggering $900,000. According to Ferrari, the money went to Daybreak, a charity that focuses on cures for rare genetic diseases. Although the official pricing for the 458 Speciale A (Aperta) was not released, we do know that in Europe the vehicle will start at around 216,000 euros before taxes, which means around $275,000.
This means that the first production 458 Speciale Aperta will definitely be the most expensive one sold by Ferrari. For those who don’t know, the Ferrari 458 Speciale A was introduced at the 2014 Paris Motor Show but 4WheelsNews was the only website to announce it back in June.
The spider version of the 458 Speciale uses the same 4.5-liter V8 engine as the coupe, delivering 605 hp (445 kW) at 9,000 rpm an 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine pushed the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, to 200 km/h (62 mph) in 9.5 seconds, while top speed is in excess of 200 mph or 320 km/h.Read the entire article Ferrari auctions first 458 Speciale A for a staggering $900,000
Ferrari’s new 458 Speciale Aperta a.k.a. the spider version of the 458 Speciale arrived today at the 2014 Paris Motor Show as company’s most powerful spider in its history. Just like the coupe version, the 458 Speciale Aperta is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 mid-rear engine that generates 605 hp (445 kW) at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) at 6,000 rpm.
The new model zooms from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.5 seconds, while top speed is 320 km/h or 200 mph. In addition, the 458 Speciale A (A as in Aperta) runs the quarter mile in 10.8 seconds and posted a Fiorano best lap time of 1’23”5.
The design is not new as the vehicle is identical to the coupe but what’s new is the innovative retractable hard top (RHT) that transforms the vehicle into a stylish spider in just 14 seconds. Compared to other convertibles, the retracted roof takes up to 100 liters of space rather than the usual 150-200 liters required on other models.Read the entire article 2014 Paris Motor Show: Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta is the vehicle we wanted to see [Live Photos]

The McLaren 12C (formerly known as the MP4-12C) has been on the market for a while now, as it was unveiled in September 2009 and went on sale in mid-2011. Back in March, McLaren launched the 650S Coupe and Spider, a vehicle that featured a front end inspired by the awesome P1 hypercar, while the rear end was “borrowed” from the 12C.
And the inevitable happened as McLaren announced the existing owners of the 12C that the company will cease production of 12C in light of the success of the 650S. Still, this isn’t the end o the 12C because Mclaren is offering the current owners a free Technology Upgrade program. Available from June, this program will offer a new Active Aero software for the Airbrake that will make it ‘sense’ different driving scenarios.
According to McLaren, the software will improve stability when lifting off the throttle or cresting a hill. Moreover, the program will include a DRS (Drag Reduction System) mode which lowers the wing when driving at high speeds in a straight line, in order to improve aerodynamics.Read the entire article McLaren ceases 12C production but offers free Technology Upgrade program
