Ferrari recently unleashed the stunning J50 Limited for Japan’s 50th anniversary. Its beguiling design nevertheless showed hints of Ferrari’s legendary classics including the targa body, which is basically the Dino 246 and 308 GTS from the seventies and eighties.
What is more interesting is that the F40 and F50’s “side slope mirrors” have somehow made a comeback. Sadly, the Italian manufacturer made only ten units of the Limited edition supercar. But it is also believed that the J50 will be very influential in designing future Ferraris. That is what we concluded when Ferrari referred to the J50 as the start of a “radically futuristic design language.”
Furthermore, it also stated that among the limited edition cars they have unveiled, the J50 obviously has the most updated design and may later serve as the basis for its future lineups.Read the entire article J50’s futuristic styling cues may be Ferrari’s upcoming blueprint
When Ferrari unveiled its new limited series Ferrari J50 for the Japanese market, not a few were mesmerized by how splendid and gorgeous this exclusive super convertible is. The new Ferrari J50 is so impressive and marvelous that it left many wondering how it would look like if this convertible is a coupe. For that, we could turn to automotive designer Remco Meulendijk of RM CarDesign to render a coupe version of the Ferrari J50.
Ferrari launched the J50 super convertible to marks a new milestone – the Italian carmaker has been in Japan for 50 years. This limited series model -- a two-seater, mid-rear-engine roadster with a targa body and a barchetta form -- was presented at Ferrari‘s special 50th anniversary celebration at the National Art Center in Tokyo, Japan. The carmaker plans to produce only 10 examples of the Ferrari J50, each to be built according to the taste and preferences of their respective owners.
As Ferrari said, the limited series J50 supercar -- designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre team and built by the carmaker’s Special Projects department -- is based on the Ferrari 488 Spider. But as we know, the Ferrari 488 Spider is derived from the Ferrari 488 GTB. So, technically and indirectly, the J50 is based on the 488 GTB super coupe. It would be a great delight to see a J50 coupe that is based from a coupe-derived convertible.Read the entire article Car designer renders a coupe version of the Ferrari J50

Ferrari and its beloved V8 engine have a lot of history together. This is the same engine that powers the Ferrari 488 GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta). Now, Ferrari has unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show a new two-seater berlinetta that pays homage to its most powerful V8 mill so far – the new Ferrari F8 Tributo.
As it names clearly indicates, the Ferrari F8 Tributo is a tribute to its award-winning V8 engine. For three years in a row – 2016, 2017 and 2018 – Ferrari’s 3,902-cc V8 engine grabbed the “Best Engine” accolade in the International Engine of the Year awards. It was also named as the best engine of the last two decades in 2018.
In the Ferrari 488 GTB, which was unveiled four years ago at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, this 3,902 cc V8 turbocharged engine delivers an astonishing 670 cv of max output at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm of peak torque in the seventh gear. This amount of power is sent to the rear wheels via a revised seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox derived from 458 Italia. This allows the 488 GTB to sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.3 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 330 km/h or 205 mph.Read the entire article 2019 Geneva Motor Show: Ferrari F8 Tributo pays homage to carmaker’s most powerful V8 engine
German carmaker Volkswagen is now making the latest evolution of the new Volkswagen Golf GTI -- the new Golf GTI TCR. After VIN registrations revealed months ago that Porsche was planning a new 718 Cayman T, new details have surfaced that about the hardcore model. According to a report by Auto Express, the German sports carmaker has almost completed the new lightweight Porsche 718 Cayman T and is now putting the finishing touches on this new hardcore model.
As reported by Auto Express, the new Porsche 718 Cayman T will served as a follow-up to the recently released 911 T as its smaller sibling. The only hybrids that automotive customers can get now from Porsche are its Panamera four-door saloon and its Cayenne sports utility vehicle. While the German sports car maker has confirmed that it would build a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 sports car, that won't happen in the near term. For those who can’t wait for Porsche to offer a 911 hybrid, Vonnen Performance is offering to convert your sports car into one.
Porsche’s main reason for not offering a hybrid version of the 911 is that the German company still doesn’t believe that the current battery technology is on par with its expectations for its venerated sports car. But with the rapid pace that the battery technology is growing, that could happen in the next few years. Porsche chief executive Oliver Blume had said that a 911 hybrid may arrive on the mid-cycle refresh of the 992 generation, which should happen by around 2022 or so.
Because Porsche won't do a 911 hybrid now, Vonnen Performance is offering to do so for 911 models built between 2012 and 2016. This also applies for other Porsche offerings currently not having a hybrid version, like the Boxster and the Cayman. The conversion kit and the entire setup would cost a Porsche owner around $75,000.Read the entire article Vonnen Performance is offering to convert Porsche 911 into a hybrid sports car for $75,000

Mercedes-AMG only came out with the E43 lineup a few years ago, and already, the said model is ready to retire the badge so they could give way for the arrival of the electrified E53 family. It was first revealed at the beginning of the year during the Detroit Auto Show and came in two body styles, a coupe and a cabriolet. These were then followed by the reveal of the sedan and wagon flavours last month.
And according to the automaker, towards the end of the year, Mercedes will be selling the 2019 model year E53 Sedan in the United States, as a replacement of the E43 Sedan, and it will come along with the more upscale two-door E53 models. To make it clear, the name change is just a minor thing.

Ferrari recently revealed their latest project, dubbed the SP38, which is a one-off based on the 488 GTB that uses its chassis and running gear. This model was ordered from them by one of their most dedicated customers. This customer has allegedly already received the keys to the supercar at the Fiorano track, and the car was put through its paces just after its reveal.
Without a surprise, the car’s design comes from the Ferrari Design Center and reflects the vision of the customer, an enthusiast who has a real passion for racing. The result? A gorgeous supercar that expresses all the beauty and innovation inherent in Ferrari’s road cars - the car is equally as good on the road and on the track. As for the design, it gets most of its inspiration from the iconic F40, from which the three layer metallic red paint also draws impulse. This paint job marks a radical departure from the language aesthetic of the donor car. It also has a twin turbo, twin intercooler set-up.
When you give the front end a closer look, you will notice that it has a pair of unusual headlights, which were especially designed for the SP38. The mandatory daytime running lights have also been moved to the front bumper to allow for an extremely thin headlights form. As a result, this adds more character to the car.Read the entire article One-off Ferrari SP38 is a one-off dream inspired by the legendary F40

As usual, the automaker isn’t giving us that much information about the car, but what we do know is that the range topper is going to be given a newly developed inline six engine that they promise to be extremely powerful.
Aside from power, the M40i will feature a great deal of other goodies, including an M sports brake system, new front axle, a lower sports suspension with electronically controlled dampers, as well as a set of M lightweight alloy wheels shod in mixed tires.
