Dwayne Johnson, better known as "The Rock", is currently filming for his upcoming movie, Rampage. Alongside the star will be the Ford Bronco who will also star in the movie.
Rampage is based on the iconic video game that was first released in 1986. The plot focuses on giant monsters destroying cities leaving them as a pile of rubble. The movie premiere is scheduled to be in April 2018.
A movie of this genre definitely calls for a rugged vehicle that is suitable for some action-packed scenes, and this is where the Ford Bronco concept from 2005 enters frame. So naturally, it will be The Rock who will be driving the 4x4 two-door SUV, joined by his co-star Naomie Harris.Read the entire article Ford Bronco makes a return in Rampage movie, alongside Dwayne Johnson
More and more vehicles are using automatic transmissions to send power from the engine to the wheels. Even supposed sporty cars have been ditching manual transmissions in favor of automatic gearboxes. But the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco could come fitted with a manual transmission, according to a report by Jalopnik.
Citing a number of sources privy with the plans, Jalopnik reported that Ford is tapping Getrag to develop a new manual gearbox for the 2020 Ford Bronco. The partnership between Ford and Getrag to develop a new manual transmission for the Bronco isn't surprising as the German company is also the one producing the manual gearbox – the MT-82 six-speed unit -- for the Ford Mustang. The new manual transmission for the new Bronco will be named as the MT-88. As per Jalopnik’s sources, this Bronco-bound transmission will be a seven-speed unit that would send power to wheels from Ford’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
According to Jalopnik, there is a possibility that the new MT-88 manual transmission share components with the MT-82 manual gearbox. Likewise, Ford may also decide to use the new MT-88 manual transmission for the next generation of the Mustang. Nonetheless, while the current plan has the new MT-88 manual transmission being fitted in the Bronco, the fact that the vehicle is still being developed means things may change as Ford gets closer to the official unveiling of the Bronco.Read the entire article 2020 Ford Bronco may come with a six- or seven-speed manual transmission from Getrag
Fast & Furious fans will have to wait longer than anticipated before catching their favorite stars come together again in one big screen. Curiously, there were some murmurs awhile back when Michelle Rodriguez said that she will leave the franchise if the next movie fails to “show some love” for women.
But the latest update comes from the official Twitter account for the blockbuster film. It announced the new release date for the upcoming Fast & Furious. It turns out that the release date has been pushed back for yet another year. Fast and Furious 9 was initially set to hit the theaters on April 19, 2019 with the final instalment supposedly scheduled for release on April 02, 2021. However, that may no longer be the case after the recent announcement.
The reason is unclear as to why Universal/Comcast Corporation has delayed the ninth instalment but a spin-off will likely fill the gap if the new release date will no longer be reversed. If rumors are true, this spin-off will be featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham. The main cast consisting of Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Chris Bridges and Tyrese Gibson are all expected to return for the ninth instalment. Ludacris may also be part of the cast but no announcement about the final casting has been made yet.Read the entire article Fast & Furious 9 gets delayed, will arrive at cinemas on April 10, 2020
Just like any other Batman, Marvel or Star Wars movie, a lot of us are quite stoked to see the new Justice League movie by Warner Brothers. The movie is scheduled to make its premiere next month, and will be packed with superheroes, action scenes, and even supercars. Watch out for at least two of Mercedes-Benz’s amazing cars. We expect to see vehicles like the E-Class, G-Class and the AMG Vision Gran Turismo in cinemas next month.
Dr. Jens Thiemer, Vice President of Marketing at Mercedes-Benz, said that Justice League is the perfect movie not only to highlight their vehicles but also to communicate the fascination of their brand. For instance, they believe that Wonder Woman would be the perfect character to drive a Mercedes Benz E-Class Cabriolet.
As mentioned earlier, the movie will be packed with superheroes, and some of these characters would be driving certain vehicles by Mercedes Benz. Like Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) with the E-Class Cabriolet, and Bruce Wayne (Batman) with the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo concept. Apart from the two, we will also see Victor Stone (Cyborg) as well as Barry Allen (The Flash).Read the entire article Upcoming Justice League movie features exclusive supercars from Mercedes-Benz
Many of you video gamers must be excited for the Forza Motorsport 7 that is set to arrive on October 3. And just a few days before its official release, the video game company previewed a new car pack that will be available in the game, and is inspired by The Fate of the Furious.
For an additional $9.99, gamers will be able to enjoy this pack that is included in both the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of the video game. The original classic Ford Bronco has become more relevant lately, thanks to the upcoming release of the all new version of it. The classic 1966 Bronco will make its way to this year’s 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas to be displayed before it heads to an auction later in the year.
In collaboration with WD-40, Vaccar built this custom first-generation Bronco to mimic the many uses of the brand. It had been designed with a unique blue and yellow livery on the exterior, accented with a single black horizontal line that runs through the sides, as well as the mirror caps and blacked out roof. The front fascia gets a bright yellow frame that matches the same shade of yellow around the wheels. There is also a WD-40 logo that is etched on the front fender.
From the looks of it, the Ford Bronco had also been raised up a little and has got a larger set of wheels wrapped in off-road tires. Though not everybody may be fond of the design of the WD-40 themed Bronco, with the blue finish and bright yellow accents - just like that of Ikea. Take note that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.Read the entire article WD-40 themed Ford Boosted Bronco by Aaron Vaccar prepares for 2017 SEMA Show
Did you know that Spectre, the 24th movie instalment based on Ian Fleming’s novel, had ten Land Rover Defenders to use back in 2015? Well, that is because the producers asked Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations to build ten heavily customized crew cab 110s especially for James Bond’s villains.
All ten vehicles were then taken to Bowler, Land Rover’s British racing partner for a wide range of upgrades including an uprated 180hp over the standard 120hp engine output. Included in the upgrades as well were Recaro racing bucket seats, harnesses, a full- roll cage, a new set of 37-inch tyres plus a warn winch with rope at the front. For complete control during an action-packed sequence, Bowler had also equipped the entire fleet with Bilstein rally shock absorbers.
But since some of the vehicles got ruined while filming the movie, only a few have remained intact to this day. One of them is the Land Rover Defender SVX Concept that was sold to a private client immediately after the minor footages have been completed. This particular vehicle had only been used for drive-by scenes and it was unscathed throughout the movie. The owner has now consigned the massive off-roader to RM Sotheby’s for the annual London event this coming September 6. The auction house will offer the vehicle to registered bidders. The bidding will run for approximately four to five hours.Read the entire article Prepare to bid for Land Rover Defender SVX Concept from 007 movie at RM Sotheby’s auction
The Fast and Furious franchise is known to spark various car themed action movies, and one movie is geared to follow in the footsteps of the highly-successful American film franchise. The movie in question is the French action thriller Overdrive that will feature the Hollywood star Scott Eastwood that works alongside cool BMW vehicles on set. Fans had the chance to see an early screening of Overdrive at exclusive movie houses in Paris and Berlin that will be attended by Eastwood and BMW, as the German marque continues to broaden its partnership with the film industry.
A lot of BMW releases have been seen during the movie, including the M3 in a major opening sequence, the 6 Series Gran Coupe as a getaway car, the upgraded 4 Series convertible, the i8, a vintage BMW 327 and the R nineT bike. Eastwood revealed that shooting alongside the BMW vehicles is always “incredible.” He went on to describe the BMW 327 as a truly gorgeous vintage unit that always impresses everyone.
He further commented that riding the M3's hood was another beast and by this you can distinctly experience the car's dynamism, akin to the new BMW 5 Series he worked on. The German marque has previously worked alongside the notable actor on the international Business Athlete campaign that featured the latest 5 Series. Uwe Dreher, BMW head of brand communications, said that reuniting Eastwood with various BMW models in the south of France was an awesome method of showing a genuine story for the BMW Brand.Read the entire article BMW’s marvelous collection of vehicles is featured in 'Overdrive' movie
Even if you’re not a horror fan, you’ve probably heard of director George A. Romero before. Some of his films include the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead. It is blatantly obvious that Romero has built a strong cult following by creating zombie apocalypse classics. And this year, another movie by the legendary director will hit cinemas near you. It doesn’t come as a surprise then that the movie’s cast will still consist of zombies, but this time, it isn’t like any of the other zombie movies out there. In fact, even Romero himself finds his latest film a little odd.
To enlighten you guys, the movie is entitled George A. Romero Presents: Road of the Dead. The movie is set on a private island, post zombie apocalypse, and zombie prisoners are forced to race post-apocalyptic vehicles in a modern day Roman coliseum to keep the elite entertained.
The script, co-written by Romero and Matt Birman, was pitched about a decade ago. If you are not aware, Birman is known for his movies like The Expanse, American Psycho, and the X-Men series. Birman himself said that this film can be described as Road Warrior meets Rollerball at a NASCAR race, with significant inspiration taken from Ben-Hur, and some of Romero’s films of course. So now, you can probably imagine why this film is quite out of the norm.Read the entire article Zombies to race apocalyptic cars in George Romero’s 'Road of the Dead' movie
Nothing’s more exciting than when stories about aliens and “moon travel” finally hit the mainstream news. While “full disclosure” may still be far off, Audi fans will at least have something to be thrilled about come May 18th.
The news? Audi’s Lunar Quattro Rover has landed a role in Ridley Scott’s much awaited sci-fi film. For more than a year now, images of Audi’s 3-D printed moon rover are in fact seen throughout the Internet. So yes, the same Audi Lunar Quattro Rover will be hitting the big screen in the upcoming “Alien: Covenant”!
The new movie is actually the sequel to 2012’s Prometheus, a film in which Scott is also the director. This year’s cast now includes Michael Fassbender, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup and Katherine Waterson. Interestingly, Alien Covenant is also the prequel to the Alien movie series' first episode. Currently on its 8th instalment, the Alien fantasy thriller came out with its first story in 1979.Read the entire article Alien Covenant to feature Audi Lunar Quattro Rover
What would you do if you found an abandoned car, in the middle of nowhere? Report it, sell it, or just leave it where you have found it?
Well, in the case of Hugo Sanchez, I would say that he’s one lucky guy! Sanchez had recently discovered an abandoned car in the Baja California Sur. It was a white Bullitt Mustang, in poor condition. So, just like any other person, he brought it to a repair shop, supposedly to have it restored and repainted to turn it into a replica of the ‘Eleanor’ from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. But to his surprise, he had actually brought in the real thing. To many people, especially car aficionados, this car is considered a “treasure.”
How can an abandoned Mustang be that valuable? Well, if it is rare and was once used by an iconic person, then its value will be off the charts. Apparently, the car he had found was one of the two cars Steve McQueen used in his 1968 film. Yup, as in 49 years ago! This was the legendary Bullitt Mustang that fans once believed have been missing for the longest time!Read the entire article Steve McQueen’s Bullitt Mustang found abandoned in the California desert after 49 years
He is best known as Wolverine. And after almost two decades (17 years to be exact) and nine movies portraying a vicious, emotionless mutant, Hugh Jackman has announced that Logan will be his last movie in the Marvel series. Sad news for all the Marvel fans. But that doesn’t mean he’s ending his acting career.
So what’s in store for him next?
Well, there have been reports that the Australian actor will be playing a totally different character in an upcoming biopic, as he takes on the role of Enzo Ferrari - an Italian motor racing driver, and the founder of Scuderia Ferrari Grand Prix. I guess there won’t be any slashing of heads and gruesome scenes for Jackman this time.Read the entire article Upcoming biopic stars Hugh Jackman as Enzo Ferrari
The Fate of the Furious has released a new international trailer and just like the ones before it, it is full of cars and explosions. This eight installment of the highly successful Fast and Furious franchise had already released trailers in the past which slowly showed the plot to its many fans. This latest trailer though appears to reveal more as to what is really happening behind the scenes.
As seen from the new trailer, the main plot appears to be a Cipher (played by Charlize Theron) seducing Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto back into the criminal world. The crew therefore must set out not only to stop a villain from spreading chaos across the world but to also take back the person responsible for making them a family.
Much like the trailers that came before it, this new one has the explosions and fast cars to satisfy any action fan. It also puts in the idea of family. The trailer itself begins with Dom racing against Letty (played by the wonderful Michelle Rodriguez) using classic cars on Cuban streets. In addition to the usual classic cars, the Dodge Challenger Demon will make its first on-screen appearance. There are also a couple of exotic cars, a tank, and while it may sound ridiculous, a submarine.Read the entire article Fate of the Furious reveals more in new international trailer
Off-road driving with an open air vehicle provides another kind of experience for many off-road enthusiasts and fans. For this sake, Ford is planning to offer a version of the next generation Ford Bronco SUV which has a roof that could be removed.
Yes, the Ford Bronco will be returning back to life in 2020 and the American carmaker is reportedly intent on creating a version that allows its owners to remove and reattach the roof as they desire (removable roof). This was divulged by The Truth About Cars (TTAC), whose people managed to tell two well-placed sources within Ford that it will have a special feature called Air Roof that could transform the 2020 Ford Bronco from a full-closed SUV into an open air off-road specialist.
TTAC reported that the Air Roof system will be made up of several panels – up to six maybe – that can be removed when desired, with storage set within the Bronco. It remains unknown whether the panels will be made from glass, carbon fiber, metal or composite plastic. Most likely, the 2020 Ford Bronco will feature fixed roof rails. This means that only the roof panels could be removed but not the rails.Read the entire article Ford Bronco set to make a comeback in 2020, rumored to have removable roof
We hope we got it wrong. Dominic Toretto or “Dom” has turned into a bad guy judging from the latest trailer of Fast and the Furious. Furious fans know that Vin Diesel’s role has always been the good guy. But as his fate has it, he’s apparently turned his back on his family in the movie. That certainly doesn’t look good.
Interestingly, the 8th instalment from the blockbuster film franchise has been named “The Fate of the Furious”. So there must be a lot of twists happening here and there as there is also a submarine. Since “family” has been mentioned more than once, we can expect the story to pick up from there.
From the looks of it, there’s obviously an element of “betrayal”. The poster says it all. It even comes with a statement saying “Family no more” with Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel turning away from each other. Dom’s “family” as we all know are also his friends/crew in the movie.Read the entire article The Fate of the Furious trailer shows Dom as the villain [w/video]
The last time we saw Lightning McQueen in the second installment of CG-animated film Cars, he was racing with Francesco and Mater at the Radiator Springs Grand Prix. That was years ago, and at that time, he was at the peak of his game with no one seemingly able to best him in the circuit, having won the Piston Cups several times already.
Now, McQueen is back, and wrecked! Yes, Pixar has just released a short trailer – and the first official teaser -- for the third installment of Cars. It shows McQueen back in the United States and competing in the speedway. While he still has some strong showing – at one point he was leading the pack – the trailer reveals that his days of Piston Cup dominance could be over. At another point, a seemingly aggressive new challenger is making his way through the throngs of racers (could be Jackson Storm, a rookie who has trounced McQueen).
According to Pixar, a new generation of car racers has made their way onto the circuit and is simply making McQueen more irrelevant. At the end of the trailer, McQueen suffers another blown-out tire – or possibly mechanical issues – and ends up crashing in the mid of the speedway.Read the entire article Lightning McQueen suffers big crash in new Cars 3 trailer
Lexus travels into space in probably the much-awaited sci-fi movie this 2017. The film, “Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets” is Luc Besson’s adaptation of a French comic book series. The European motion picture is set in a highly unusual intergalactic world known as the Alpha city. Thus, a high-tech space vehicle is an inevitable choice. Luc Besson’s sci-fi tale will be featuring Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke and Rihanna while Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHann will be playing the major role as space agents.
Interestingly, the single-seat space craft designed by Europacorp and Lexus bears a close resemblance to Lexus’ upcoming model. The SkyJet’s triangular headlamps and spindle nose grille are obviously inspired by the new LC500 Coupe. We couldn’t help but wonder if Lexus will be building real space ships in the next 700 years. The SkyJet as we know is only a fictional flying machine since it is envisioned for the 28th century. Though we won’t be there when it happens, at least we can get a hold of Lexus’ latest LC500 Coupe.
Designing the SkyJet has required Besson and his team to consult Takeaki Kato, Lexus’ Chief Engineer for advise. Europacorp is a film and television studio where Luc Besson (the director) is also the founder. Besson fondly shared his thoughts about their partnership with Lexus. He admired the brand for centering its technology and innovation towards the future. Their teamwork has nevertheless brought the most futuristic design for a spacecraft that would fit the story’s 28th century setting. The modern design cues very much represent the “Valerian era”, which is projected 700 years ahead of our time.Read the entire article Futuristic Lexus Skyjet to appear in Luc Besson’s Valerian Sci-fi action film
The James Bond series is probably the longest running spy series that started way back in 1963 with the first movie Dr. No. There have been more than twenty instalments released since the first movie, each one possessing the same spy-induced excitement as the rest of the movies.
The thrill and excitement in every series attract the audience but it cannot be denied that the different types of vehicles driven by Agent 007 draws in the crowds too. The James Bond series is probably one of the movies that are popularly watched especially because of the variety of vehicles featured.
Even when most of the luxury cars featured in the movies would probably meet an unfortunate end (like fall off a cliff or explode in one of 007’s race against time adventures), people like the thrill of seeing an Aston Martin or a Ford Mustang sprint in full speed on a race against one of 007’s rivals.Read the entire article Aston Martin DB5 tops ‘Favorite Bond Car’ survey in the UK
Almost a decade ago, Director Michael Bay first set off the journey into the world of robots through the Transformers franchise. Since 2007, there have been four instalments of the said film, drawing fans and critics alike.
Admit it or not, we have been drawn to some of its characters and it didn’t matter if they were Autobots or Decepticons because they all looked cool. Most of them were pretty damn cool. Why wouldn’t they be, right? It’s not everyday that we’d run into a red Ferrari 458 Italia that would transform into a bad guy busting machine or an AM General Humvee that’s actually an Autobot medic. Yeah, those things don’t happen everyday so that’s why there are some people who are hooked on this movie. But the character that has captured the hearts of many is the gentle but vicious Bumblebee.
Who wouldn’t recognize this yellow Autobot, right? Aside from his charismatic demeanor (and the fact that he’s one of Optimus Prime’s most trusted comrades), Bumblebee has always been easy to spot because of his color – yellow. Well if it isn’t obvious enough, the character sports a yellow paint scheme that is inspired by a certain genus of bees which makes his character all the more prominent in the movie. His alternative vehicle mode has been in the form of either a Pontiac Firebird or the most well-known of them all, a Chevrolet Camaro.Read the entire article 'Transformers: The Last Knight Sneak Peek': All-New Bumblebee Camaro
With comic book franchises and video games moving up to the big screen, it’s not a surprise that Activision Blizzard has decided to join the fray. The company, which is behind several successful franchises that include World of Warcraft, Starcraft, and the Call of Duty series, is set to develop film adaptations of its most successful titles through its very own Skylanders Academy.
The Academy’s first tasks? Develop a TV adaptation of Skylanders! The project is already ongoing, with Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale, Jonathan Banks and Norm Macdonald already on board to provide their vocal talents for the TV series.
The upcoming Skylanders’ TV show is executively produced by Eric Rogers. If you didn’t know, Rogers used to be a writer for Futurama. That’s not the only project to come from Skylanders Academy however.Read the entire article Activision Blizzard plans 'Call of Duty' movie, 'Skylanders' TV series
