Ford is having a good harvest so far this year for its Focus ST in the United Kingdom, especially after the carmaker introduced new petrol and diesel powertrains. In fact, Ford has already sold nearly 6,700 diesel and petrol versions of the Focus ST in the UK so far this year, a far cry from the 2,460 units sold in the entire duration of last year.
The new 185PS diesel Focus ST accounts for around 45 percent of demand in the UK while the 250PS EcoBoost petrol model generated 55 percent of sales in the country. Ford has now sold over 50,000 units of the Focus ST since 2002, when it introduced the ST170 in the market.
For the next model year, the diesel version of the Focus ST will be available with a six-speed dual-clutch PowerShift transmission, the deliveries of which are scheduled in early 2016. With this new transmission, the diesel Focus ST can now be driven either in full automatic mode or in the manual mode through the paddle mounted behind the steering wheel.Read the entire article 2015 Ford Focus ST overachieves in the UK as diesel-powered models arrive
Engine tuning expert Mountune is offering a performance upgrade for those who own a Ford Focus ST in the UK. With this kit, there is an increase in the power output of the Ford Focus ST’s 2.0 EcoBoost engine from 250 to 275 PS.
But don’t worry about the warranty because it won’t be voided if a Ford dealer adds this upgrade. Included in Mountune’s upgrade package are a large capacity alloy intercooler, high-flow dual-entry air filter, low-loss cast crossover duct with silicone hose, and performance-map calibration that was specifically developed for the model.
This kit improves the power output by 10% to 5,500rpm as well as boosts the torque from 345Nm to 400Nm at 2,750rpm. Ford of Britain sales director Kevin Griffin said that this modification kit on the 2015 Ford Focus ST 275PS is the newest addition to Ford dealers’ offering of parts and accessories.Read the entire article Mountune offers performance kit to new Ford Focus ST, boosts engine to 275 PS

As the Ford ST performance brand and the Focus ST are about to celebrate one year since their launch, it becomes apparent that Focus ST has been successful at attracting wealthier, younger customers into Ford showrooms. Since the launch through October, Ford has sold just under 12,000 units of the Focus ST in the U.S.
The states with the highest demand are Detroit, Los Angeles, Houston and Orlando. Of these customers, about 65% traded in a non-Ford vehicle to purchase their car.
This is the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid vehicle compared to all other Ford cars and trucks. The brands that were most traded are Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. It’s also notable that 32% of Focus ST buyers are under 35 years old, compared with 22% of non-ST Focus owners.Read the entire article Ford gets new and younger buyers thanks to the new Focus ST
Hertz and Ford have quite a history with unique rental cars as their partnership started back in 1918, when the rental company was founded. In 1918, Hertz leased plenty of Ford T models and in 1966 the exclusive GT350H Mustang. The history continues with the 2008 Mustang Shelby GT-H. The Hertz Mustang black with gold stripes and personally signed by Carol Shelby were also very popular.
The latest vehicle to arrive at Hertz is the Ford Focus ST-H, a black hot hatch with gold stripes and wheels. The new Focus ST-H will be available in the Netherlands.
Due to great success Hertz now adds a third copy to the fleet. As expected, the Ford Focus ST-H is powered by the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine developing 250 hp (184 kW), can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 248 km/h or 154 mph.Read the entire article Hertz adds another Ford Focus ST-H to its fleet as its popularity grows
Hennessey Performance Engineering has presented a tuning package for the 2013 Ford Focus ST that it has dubbed as the HPE300. Two months ago, HPE president John Hennessey bought a 2013 Ford Focus ST for his everyday driving needs. He recently subjected it to some modifications that he has decided to unveil to the public.
HPE300 package features a cold air intake that raises its output by around 14hp and 7 pound-feet of torque. It has also been given an ECU reflash that boosts output further by 36 hp and 44 lb-ft of torque. The package also includes an optional Magnaflow cat-back exhaust that adds 7 or 8hp to the hot hatch.
With all these changes, the 2013 Ford Focus ST can now deliver 310 hp and 320 lb-ft from the stock output of 252 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Only 300 units of this package are available.Read the entire article Hennessey HPE300 based on 2013 Ford Focus ST
Tuning group fifteen52 introduced the TrackSTer, a performance concept based on the Ford Focus ST, at the Chicago Auto Show. The TrackSTer is included in the team-up between Ford, Los Angeles-based fifteen52, and racer Ken Block named Project ST. Two other tuned Focuses will debut this year as part of Project ST.
The TrackSTer is meant to add track-ready performance while still being laid-back enough to be used on the streets. It features a short-throw shifter and performance exhaust from Ford Racing.
It also gets a more powerful clutch, bigger brakes, and Quaife limited-slip differential that are all developed for the Focus ST-R race car program. Aside from that, fifteen52 enhanced the Focus ST with forged internal components, a reflashed engine computer, and a bigger intercooler from Monotune.Read the entire article Fifteen52 introduces the Focus ST TrackSTer
Shelby has introduced a front wheel drive Shelby Focus ST. This driver-focused performance masterpiece was extensively tested at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Shelby had a budget in mind when it made this project. The car is lowered by the new Ford Racing suspension pieces. Meanwhile, the wheels and tires enhance the grip and traction. Its braking power is improved with the bigger Shelby spec brakes with drilled rotors.
When combined with the sound of the Shelby/Borla exhaust, it becomes distinctively Shelby. The interior is totally customized with a Shelby shifter and it also comes with the unique Shelby CSM badge. The exterior can be quickly recognized due to its functional hood vents, hydro-carbon front and rear grille inserts, Shelby lettering and rear Hydro-carbon spoiler.
Shelby offers three visual graphics packages, which range from “traditional” Shelby stripes to more edgy Shelby checkered flag splash or competition graphics.Read the entire article 2013 NAIAS: Shelby upgrades the Ford Focus ST
Ford is offering the 2013 Focus ST Wagon as an excellent pursuit vehicle to police fleets in the UK. But in other countries around the world, Ford is busy selling the Taurus-based Police Interceptor and the Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility. The hot white Focus ST wagon features your typical police plaid livery but it is a one-off car that’s believed to be a legitimate demonstrator.
Ford’s Special Vehicle Preparations group in Essex prepared the ST police wagon to be displayed at a recent trade show. It supposedly complies with all English NPIA standards for “fast response vehicles.” Aside from the LED lighting and checkerboard paint scheme, the police-spec Focus ST isn’t really very different from the regular variety.
A drawer system and divider is built in the cargo hold. In addition, a police computer system and lighting controller were carefully integrated into the dash space formerly used to accommodate the MyFord Touch infotainment system. The Focus ST is powered by the 252-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4, which enables the wagon to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about 6.2 seconds.Read the entire article Ford Focus ST Wagon becomes police patrol vehicle in the UK
Ford Motor Co. is planning to put the spotlight on its latest cars at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. Ford has given us a preview of the five versions of the 2013 Ford Focus ST that will be seen at SEMA. These cars are all powered by Focus ST’S 252-hp, 2.0-liter turbo-four engine and six-speed manual transmission as a base but then many of the tuning companies raised the performance of the EcoBoost powertrain even higher.
Similar to the revised Ford Fusions previewed in the past, majority of the Focuses intended for SEMA have loud new visual parts. Tanner Foust Racing, which is led by the famous rally drive and X-Games champion, added a new air intake and a Magnaflow exhaust to achieve a higher horsepower, mated with adjustable suspension for better handling. It described the modified 2013 Ford Focus ST, which was given a new front splitter and rear spoiler, as a “competent weekend track warrior” that could function as a daily commuter vehicle too.
Bojix Design chose not to add a straight-line performance to their 2013 Ford Focus ST but it still put in bigger brakes and coil-over suspension parts. The car completes its transformation with a bold body kit with low side skirts, black wheels with orange accents, and a bold orange-and-black paint scheme.Read the entire article Ford shows five customized 2013 Focus ST models ahead of SEMA Show
The big-screen adaptation of the 1970’s cop show ‘The Sweeney’ premiered tonight in London, marking the silver screen debut of Ford's first global performance car, the Ford Focus ST hatchback. If you are wondering how a Ford Focus feels like if it is fitted with afterburners, why not try driving the new Ford Focus ST. The Ford Focus ST is powered by a four-cylinder, direct-injected turbocharged engine installed with an "overboost" system that extends peak torque from 3,000 rpm to 4,500 rpm for up to 15 seconds at a time.
This is unlike other EcoBoost engines that begin to drop off at higher engine speeds after hitting the peak torque. The powerhouse that sits on the Ford Focus ST is the first overboosted Ford EcoBoost engine sold in North America. The overclocked EcoBoost 2.0-liter engine is also fitted with a very robust cooling system.
Lisa Schoder, marketing manager for Focus ST, said that the engine turbo is developed for sustained, high-output performance. She added that the company’s engineers programmed the vehicle’s computer to allow the engine to rev past 3,000 rpm.Read the entire article 2013 Ford Focus ST will offer overboost function aimed at performance-hungry drivers

When the new Ford Focus ST accelerates, it’s nowhere near as noisy as expected due largely to the device called the “active sound symposer.” Automakers always aim find the balance between sound and sight, just like what the Ford Focus ST has achieved. The symposer has the appearance of a sound tube that was formerly used on cars like the Mustang.
It’s more advanced but it works the same way of pumping sound from the engine to the interior. It is directly attached to the intake manifold and pipes in a particular frequency range (200 to 450 Hz) into the cabin. The symposer comes with an electronically-controlled valve that opens and closes according to several factors such as the engine speed, throttle position, and gear selection.
The valve is intended to be more aggressive in lower gears and more passive in higher gears for quieter freeway cruising, which means that it celebrates the best of both worlds. The Focus ST has a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo-four, which produces 252 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque.Read the entire article 2013 Ford Focus ST comes with Active Sound Symposer

You don’t have to wait until the movie, The Sweeney, is released this September to view Ford’s first global performance car as it will be previewed this summer at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The black Ford Focus ST, which will be driven by stunt drivers instead of the movie’s Flying Squad detectives Jack Regan and George Carter, will race against a Jaguar XFR in going up the Goodwood hillclimb.
Since the start of the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 1993, Ford has always served as a major sponsor and this year is no different. Ford will still be in full support of this event over the weekend of June 29 to July 1, 2012. The Festival of Speed is the premier historic motor sporting event in Europe, combining a hillclimb, rally stage, garden party, and motor show.
These activities will take place in the grounds of Goodwood House, the ancestral home of the Earl of March in West Sussex. After last year’s concept version, Ford unveiled today the production version of the 2012 Focus ST. This doesn’t come as a surprise and we must admit that the design of the all-new 2012 Ford Focus ST doesn’t come as a surprise due to the fact that it looks almost just like the concept. Still, the Focus ST Wagon is a big surprise, but this model will only be offered on the European market.
Under the hood, we find the all-new four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine delivering 250 PS and 360 Nm of torque. The new engine is a step forward comparing it with the five-cylinder 2.5-liter engine found on the previous-generation Focus ST and according to Ford it needs with 20 percent less fuel while delivering better performances.
Ford says that a better fuel economy is obtained by using high pressure direct injection, low-inertia turbocharging and Twin-independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT). The design of the car is rounded by a new set of y-shaped 18-inch alloy wheels. Moreover, a ‘Performance Pack’ is available and offers wheels painted in black with a high contrast red finish on the performance brake calipers.Read the entire article 2012 Ford Focus ST/ST Wagon: details, photos and specs
