To catch a fleeing criminal, one must be well-equipped with wheels that can catch up, if not, outrun them. We’ve watched too many action movies with the police force arriving after the hero/heroine gets the job done. But in real life, calling 911 or the police force does the trick. And yes, they’ve got to have the wheels to do the trick.
In the United States for example, the police force has the necessary gear to catch criminals and delinquents as well as maintain peace and order in their respective state; and such equipment includes police cars or police mobiles that are capable of great speeds to corner fleeing criminals. Companies like Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge are known to supply the American police force with the necessary power to chase criminals.
The Michigan State Police has in fact listed the best patrol cars issued to them by the government for the year 2017. Recently, each of their patrol cars had been put to the test on the tracks of the Gingerman raceway in South Haven, Michigan and in a straight line. Here is a list of Michigan’s fastest police cars for 2017.Read the entire article Fastest police cars for 2017, according to Michigan State Police force
Ford is targeting the Chinese market as it launches a new premium sedan – the new Ford Taurus – in Shanghai. This marks the first time that the Taurus nameplate will be available in China. The Taurus was conceptualized by Ford’s global design and development resources.
During the early phases of the design process, engineers and designers around the globe worked hard to have a better understanding of the Chinese market and the major cultural aspects that affect their vehicle preferences.
The outstanding new vehicle is the product of the in-depth study of the target buyers -- the successful professionals who are well-respected in their industry. The research aided to fine-tune design and engineering targets. Ford designers built the Taurus to have an exterior that expresses confidence, harmony, and balance.Read the entire article Ford unveils new 2016 Taurus sedan targeted at Chinese market
Hennessey has just the thing for you if you have the need for speed but are on a limited budget. Hennessey is now offering more options for you aside from the Vipers, CTS-Vs and Raptors, and the Venom GT. Hennessey has given additional power to the Ford Taurus SHO. Not a lot can be done about the weight, except for a jettisoning of the back seat much like Car Craft, some door panels and other “unnecessary” ballast.
However, turbocharged engines can be easily tuned so Hennessey worked on the Ford Taurus SHO and gave it a boost from 365 to 445, while its torque rose from 350 to 405 in its MaxBoost 445 transformation. As a result, its performance improved from good to excellent, placing the MaxBoost Taurus in the same level as the contemporary BMW 550i.
It’s also faster than iconic models like the 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo, 1990 Lamborghini Diablo, and the 1996 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. Hennessey has released a video that shows off its previous work done on a Lincoln MKS.Read the entire article Hennessey Performance unveils the Ford Taurus SHO MaxBoost 445
The US Environmental Protection Agency has certified the 2013 Ford Taurus, powered by Ford Motor Co.'s 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, of having a highway driving rating of 32 mpg and city driving rating of 22 mpg, for a combined city-highway rating of 26 mpg. The EPA certification allows Ford to claim mpg leadership in the mid-sized and luxury sedan segment, topping rivals like the 2012 versions of the Chevrolet Impala, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Mercedes-Benz E350 BlueTEC, Porsche Panamera S Hybrid and Toyota Avalon.
Aside from the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, buyers could also choose from two other powerhouse choices. A 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that provides 365 hp of output and 350 pounds-feet of torque comes with the top-of-the-line Taurus SHO, receiving a highway driving rating of 25 mpg and a city driving rating 17 mpg.
The base Taurus, meanwhile is fitted with a normally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 that gets a highway driving rating of 29 mpg and a city driving rating of 19 mpg. Ford will roll out the base Taurus this summer with a starting price of $28,390, including shipping. The other two models are already available on the market.Read the entire article 2013 Ford Taurus gets 26 mpg combined city-highway rating from EPA
Ford will try to revive the glory of its Taurus model by having the SHO (Super High Output) version of the car as the centrepiece of its marketing campaign. Ford plans to use the Taurus SHO to uplift the image of its Taurus nameplate as well as boost sales for the refreshed 2013 Taurus. The sporty SHO was first unveiled as a niche version of the Taurus specially made for enthusiasts who admire its high-performing Yamaha engine and manual transmission.
According to Amy Marentic, group marketing manager for cars and utilities, Ford will use the SHO in its advertising as a halo car for the Taurus nameplate. Part of the 2013 Taurus advertising strategy is to highlight the sporty Taurus SHO on TV commercials. The SHO commercials will feature Ford engineers and customers. But the main feature of the commercials will be NASCAR driver Carl Edwards.
Taurus will still advertise other versions of the Taurus, the SEL and base SE, in print and online. Marentic disclosed that Ford was pleasantly surprised by a research saying that the No. 1 car cross-shopped by SHO customers is the BMW 5 series.Read the entire article Ford hopes to reignite consumer’s interest in Taurus with SHO version
A preliminary investigation has been opened by U.S. safety regulators over a problem with the throttle of Ford Taurus sedans getting stuck in an open position. This probe by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration covers about 360,000 Ford Taurus sedans from model years 2005 and 2006. The agency had received 14 consumer complaints based on incidents of a stuck throttle as the result of a cruise control cable detachment.
If the agency finds that a safety issue has to be addressed then this may lead to a recall. Ford Motor Co. is cooperating with the agency, according to a company spokesman. Documents filed with the NHTSA indicate that these complaints claim that the engine has been going as fast as around 4,000 revolutions per minute after shifting the car into park or neutral.
Some say that when this happened, it became hard to slow down the car with the service brakes. One report said that when the car eventually halted, it had gone through a red light and was partially in an intersection. Several drivers said that to stop the car, they needed to turn off the engine or shift into neutral.Read the entire article U.S. safety regulators open investigation into Ford Taurus throttle issue

This is the story of how one person's automotive artistry led him to big breaks beyond his wildest imagination. At the recently held Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) automotive aftermarket trade show at Las Vegas, Tommy Zondervan of Hudsonville displayed his Superlux version of the 2010 Ford Taurus.
In his early 20s, Zondervan began creating exterior paint designs and personalized interiors for friends who were building hot rods and custom cars and trucks.
This is how Tommy Z Design started. Initially, it had shops in Troy and Western Michigan but it has now consolidated into a 4,000-square-foot facility in Hudsonville. Even with no formal automotive design education, Zondervan got his big break in 2004 when he made sketches of how he'd tweak the styling and showed them to several Chrysler dealers.Read the entire article Superlux Ford Taurus on its way to hit the dealerships
