Honda is showcasing the retro-inspired EV concept in Germany’s 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show which will last until September 24. The retro styled city car, which is also the Japanese car brand’s first production EV for the European market, is featuring a funky design with two rounded headlights akin to the hatchbacks from the seventies and eighties.
Beyond the wide-eyed front fascia and small dimensions comes a deep muscular stance that not only provides the Urban EV with sporty driving capability but also make it more stable for its size. If compared with the Honda Jazz supermini, the Urban concept will come out 100m shorter with its current length of 3,895mm.
Inside, the cabin features a wind screen with some thin A-pillars for better visibility and a couple of bench seats to make room for up to four occupants. There is also a large dashboard with wood veneer as well as a screen that wraps around the dash that goes throughout the hatchback’s two main doors. The main display provides specific information about the EV’s energy consumption, battery life and range status while the wrap around screen on both side of the doors work as the vehicle’s side mirrors with the help of the digital camera.Read the entire article 2017 IAA: Honda goes retro with its enchanting Urban EV concept
During the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, Land Rover presented something that no other automaker has before - an off-road stroller for parents to use when transporting their toddlers. In other words, Land Rover came up with a baby carriage that is perfect for babies who would like to go off roading but are not capable of walking yet.
Land Rover was able to make this possible by entering a partnership with iCandy and creating an all-terrain stroller dubbed as the iCandy Peach All-Terrain Special Edition push chair. With these capabilities, no one expects this stroller to be easily affordable. In fact, it comes with a $2,000 price tag.
We're letting you guys decide whether or not this stroller is worth your money for what it is. In fact, one might get an actual off-roader vehicle that's probably been worn out for the same price. Furthermore, your kid might already have learned how to walk even before you finish paying for this stroller.Read the entire article Would you pay for a $2,000 offroad-ready Land Rover baby stroller?
Around two weeks after Porsche unveiled the third generation of the Porsche Cayenne in Stuttgart, Germany, the sports car maker has taken the wraps off the turbo version of the sporty mid-sized SUV around 140 miles to the north in Frankfurt – the new 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo.
Simply speaking, the new generation of the Cayenne Turbo is Porsche’s mid-sized SUV on steroids. Compared to the next-gen Cayenne and Cayenne that were recently unveiled, the Cayenne Turbo represents a big boost in power. The 2019 Cayenne is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine delivering 340 horsepower of max output and 332 pound-feet of torque, allowing the base Porsche mid-size SUV to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
The Cayenne S, meanwhile, employs a bi-turbo 2.9-liter V6 mill delivering up to 440 hp of output and up to 406 lb.-ft. of torque – good for a 0-100 km/h dash of 4.9 seconds. Top speeds for the next-gen Cayenne and Cayenne S are at 152 mph and 165 mph, respectively.Read the entire article 2019 Porsche Cayenne Turbo offers more power, active aerodynamics and better brakes
A pickup truck that is soon celebrating its 50th birthday has the right to be invincible, especially if it has conquered various terrains and weather conditions not only in one part of the globe, but around the world – including the North Pole and the slopes of Icelandic volcanoes. Building on this, the Toyota Hilux celebrates its half-a-century of existence in the global pickup truck market with the unveiling of a special edition model at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Dubbed as the Toyota Hilux Invincible 50, this special edition show car marks 50 years of the pickup truck’s dominance in the global market. Toyota Hilux Invincible 50 marks the iconic status of the pickup truck around the world.
Toyota first released the Hilux in 1968, and commenced its sales in Europe a year after in 1969. After eight generations and nearly 50 years, more than 18 million units have found their way into customers’ hands, not just in a few markets, but in more than 180 countries and regions around the world. This is why the Toyota Hilux can be seen on the roads and even the off-roads of Europe, North and South Americas, Africa and Asia. In fact, the iconic pickup truck has already conquered a number of challenging places and events, like in Antarctica, the Dakar Rally and the Top Gear program of TV channel BBC.Read the entire article Toyota spices up 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show display with new Hilux Invincible 50 special model
Clearly, Renault is way ahead of many automakers with their all new Symbioz Concept. The concept isn’t intended for this year or the next as it’s targeted to be ready by 2030.
As seen at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, it is a five-door hatchback that can be converted into a space that functions like a living room. While presenting it to the audience, Renault showed how you can drive this all-electric into a house, park it, and turn it into an extra modular room. This appears to be the French automaker's interpretation of a mobile home.
The Symbioz is the next concept that Renault has come up with after the Trezor from last year's Paris Motor Show. It’s different in its own way. It has a low and flat roof design, a large greenhouse, and C shaped LED headlights and tail lights. When talking about the design, Renault argues that the Symbioz' appearance is suitable for the year 2030, when everyone will be driving nothing but electric cars.Read the entire article Renault Symbioz Concept can double as a mobile living room
It has been five years since the second generation of the Toyota Auris was launched in Europe, and the compact vehicle managed to steadily receive the attention of C-segment customers in this part of the world. Now, Toyota intends to ignite anew the interest for the Auris in the 2018 model year by launching a limited edition model based on its Touring Sports wagon version.
The new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle Edition is simply a reinterpreted version of the Auris Touring Sports wagon. The Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition features a number of smart urban styling cues that help set it apart from a typical Auris Touring Sports wagon. For instance, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition is provided with a black front grille, rear privacy glass as well as door mirror covers in bright silver. Its wheel arch covers and side skirts are also finished in black while its front and rear underbody protections are wrapped in an aluminum finish. Further distinguishing styling cues include a set of five double-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels with a black and machined silver finish.
Interestingly, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition won’t be offered in a single specific powertrain package. Instead, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition will be made available in various powertrain options, including the conventional petrol and diesel engines as well as a hybrid drive. In terms of utility, the new Auris Touring Sports Freestyle edition offers up to 1,685 liters of cargo capacity when the rear seats are folded down.Read the entire article Toyota seeks to widen appeal of Auris compact with new Touring Sports Freestyle special edition

Mercedes-Benz has been planning on extending their full lineup of electric cars, and this time, it is the new EQ A Concept that they have just unveiled for a futuristic three-door hatchback. As seen at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the EQ A is even smaller than the Vision EQ ForTwo Concept that is great for future car-sharing fleets.
Similar to other Mercedes-Benz EQ concepts, the EQ A has a smooth, rounded shape. It is slightly different with its round nose with short overhangs that lead to a steeply raked windshield and flowing roof that goes over the hatch. Overall, it definitely looks like it has come from the future.
New upgrades had been added to the EQ A such as high-tech bits and pieces. For instance, it was designed with an adaptive grille instead of the conventional ones we often see, and this even reflects the car's driving modes. For instance, when on Sport mode, the grille draws a horizontal blue line to indicate this. On Sport Plus mode, the image on the Panamericana grille switches to vertical red slats instead. How cool is that?Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz EQ A Concept has quite the futuristic design

The long-awaited 2018 Renault Megane RS has finally made its way to the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, after having been the subject of several spy photos and leaks. The Megane RS is definitely among the most-liked C-segment hot hatches as it comes with a number of technologies – including a turbo gasoline engine with two new transmission options.
It comes equipped with a 1.8-liter turbocharged gas motor with direct injection, like the one in the Alpine A110 sports car, instead of the older 2.0-liter turbo. This engine works with either a six-speed manual or a dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission that includes paddle shifter and launch control, giving power to the front wheels. All this enables the Megane RS to carry out as much as 280 horsepower (205 kilowatts). It will also come with standard 355mm front discs with Brembo calipers that customers can swap for optional bi-material cast iron and aluminum discs.
But that’s not all that it can do, as customers can opt for the Megane RS Trophy version that should be out before 2019. This variant will have a little more power, giving out 300 horsepower (224 kilowatts). It is too early to provide numbers for the acceleration and top speed of both the regular and the Trophy variant, but stay tuned as we will probably find out by December this year.Read the entire article 2018 Renault Megane RS now has more power and tech

BMW is presenting at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show a new concept that allows the public to see a more immediate future of electric mobility, as interpreted by the German premium carmaker. This new concept – the BMW i Vision Dynamics – intends to show that the future of electric mobility has already arrived at the BMW Group, according to Harald Kruger, Chairman of the Board of Management at BMW AG.
While BMW’s NEXT 100 vehicles presented in 2016 dwell more into the far future of mobility, the BMW i Vision Dynamics looks into what will arrive a few years from now. As intended, the new BMW i Vision Dynamics is a dynamic and progressive, four-door Gran Coupe that envisions future electric mobility between the BMW i3 and BMW i8. Kruger noted that the BMW i Vision Dynamics concept envisages how the carmaker partly plans to carry out its NUMBER ONE > NEXT strategy, which in part entails offering 25 electrified models – 12 of which will be all-electric – by 2025.
Even though the i Vision Dynamics concept is a vehicle from the future, it is still easily identifiable as a BMW, thanks to a number of familiar design cues up front. For instance, the new BMW i Vision Dynamics still features the already iconic BMW kidney. But as expected, the design of the BMW kidney on the BMW i Vision Dynamics concept has been reinterpreted to mold the past and the future of the brand. The kidneys are now prominent and enclosed. Featuring no large grille openings, the kidneys now function as an intelligent surface where the sensors of the concept are embedded.Read the entire article BMW previews near-future of its electric mobility with i Vision Dynamics at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show
While Mercedes-Benz, through its AMG unit, is toying with its Project One hypercar, it has unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show the newest and cleaner addition to its S-Class model range – the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S560e next-generation plug-in hybrid.
Meant to replace the S500e plug-in hybrid of the pre-Facelift S-Class, the new Mercedes S560e boasts of having more power and being able to travel longer distances. These capabilities are centered on the S560e’s more dynamic hybrid drive system that employs a more powerful V6 engine and electric motor as well as a higher capacity lithium-ion battery.
The hybrid system that propels the new Mercedes S560e makes use of a 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers 270 kW (367 hp) of max output and 500 Nm (369 lb.-ft) of peak torque. For other vehicles, this amount of power is already enough, but Mercedes has adjudged that this conventional mill wasn’t enough to make the S560e not just powerful, but also efficient. As a plug-in hybrid, the new S560e also makes use of an electric motor – developed in collaboration with Bosch -- that generates up to 90 kW of output and 440 Nm of instant torque.Read the entire article 2018 Mercedes-Benz S560e Plug-in Hybrid is a more powerful and more efficient successor to S500e
Porsche is boosting the appeal of its new Porsche 911 GT3 sports car by unveiling a Touring Package at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). The new 911 GT3 with Touring Package is simply the adoption and modernization of a concept that dates back to the touring variant 1973 911 Carrera RS. Now, the 911 GT3 with Touring Package is targeted towards the customer who places a great value on classic driving enjoyment with understated looks.
Compared to the standard 911 GT3, the version with the Touring Package features a body that is basically the same, saved for the rear end where the fixed rear wing has been replaced by a variable rear spoiler like on the 911 Carrera. This variable rear spoiler features an additional aerodynamic tear-off edge – also known as Gurney flap – in body color. The “GT3 touring” logo could be found on the rear lid grille. The rear end of the new 911 GT3 with Touring Package also reveals sports exhaust system tailpipes, silver-colored side window strips, headlight washer system covers and the Porsche logo.
Nevertheless, the 911 GT3 with Touring Package remains a high-performance sports car. The front end still features the large air intakes while luggage compartment lid is marked by an air outlet in front. In addition, both the front and rear lights of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package are the same as those on its standard sibling, although the ones on the new variant don’t feature dark tints. Black-tinted front and rear lights are specified in the “Black Exterior Touring Package” equipment option, which transforms a number of elements to have a black finish.Read the entire article Porsche introduces 911 GT3 with Touring Package at 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show

At the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen revealed the all-electric I.D. Crozz II Concept as a way to tell the audience that they are pushing through with electrification in 2020. At first glance, the design of this concept will remind you of the earlier I.D. Crozz. The compact crossover picks up design cues from it, but is more stylish and eye-catching with its two-tone colour scheme. The one we are seeing live is finished in a Hibiscus Red Metallic paint and a silver roof.
Herbert Diess, Volkswagen CEO said in his statement that their company focuses on making technology more accessible to people. He also said that the Golf of the future must still be the people’s car.
Better than the first concept, the Crozz II aesthetically looks better with its new and cleaner headlights, getting rid of the louver-like strips of LED lights. The contrast that the two-tone paint gives really helped with the vehicle’s design, especially from the rear three-quarters perspective. There is a nice balance between the silver roof and the red body, making it really stand out from the crowd.Read the entire article VW I.D. Crozz II Concept looks more stylish than the previous electric crossover concept
Finally, Audi Sport takes the cover off the R8 V10 RWS at the dawn of 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The long awaited rear-wheel drive R8 is here, and as the newest addition to the supercar's range, the automaker decided to only produce 999 units of the Coupe and the Spyder trims.
For the R8 V10 RWS, Audi had to get rid of the Quattro system to give way to the RWD layout, though the naturally aspirated V10 remains intact. Now, without the Quattro, the R8 loses as much as 50 kilograms (110 pounds) for the fixed roof model, while the droptop only loses 40 kilos (88 pounds). The 5.2 FSI V10 engine is mounted on the middle, where it produces the same 540 horsepower (397 kilowatts) and 540 Newton-metres (398 pound-feet) of torque as the all-wheel drive version of the R8. This is why the RWD version lacks the rear wing of the more powerful Plus model. The R8 is better known for an extreme track day more than just cruising around Beverly Hills.
In terms of performance, the Coupe version can accelerate from a standstill to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in only 3.7 seconds - that makes it two tenths of a second faster than the R8 with the Quattro system. The Spyder, on the other hand, can finish the task in 3.8 seconds, considering that it is slightly heavier. It is still 0.2 seconds faster than its AWD sibling. The R8 Coupe version can still go off to a maximum of 198.8 miles per hour (320 kilometers per hour), while the Spyder does it in 197.6 miles per hour (318 kph), same as its Quattro counterpart.Read the entire article The rear-wheel drive 2018 Audi R8 V10 RWS is finally here, with less weight too
