Geiger Cars has just unveiled the Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew “The Beast”, an upgraded version of the well-known high-performance pickup truck. Designed especially for the Rally “Baja California”, the Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew comes with a new 2.9-liter screw compressor with intercooler that boosts the 6.2-liter V8 engine to an impressive 572 hp (421 kW) and 712 Nm of torque.
The engine is bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission and has a fuel consumption of 17.1 l/100 km while CO2 emissions are 340 g/km. Still, Geiger Cars didn’t stop here as it also installed a new suspension system that lifts the chassis. As a result, the Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew has a height of 2.20 m.

GeigerCars.de, the aftermarket expert for American cars, has recently revealed the Ford Mustang Shelby GT640 "Golden Snake,” which is priced at 89,000 euros. This vehicle is based on the latest model of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500, which is a force to reckon with even with factory settings. Munich-based GeigerCars.de fitted the 5.4 litre V8 with a big 2.3 litre compressor and Geiger stainless steel sport exhaust system.
With some mandatory software changes, this engine can now send 640 PS (series: 548 PS) to the back wheels. At the highest point of the torque, the mechanically loaded engine is capable of delivering 789 Nm on the crankshaft.
The Mustang is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and it can hit a top speed of 295 km/h. Mustang’s engine block starting from the 2011 model year consists of aluminum. This significantly cuts the load on the front axle and provides the Power Coupe a better position on the road. Check out this new performance package for the Ford GT that's brought to us by GeigerCars. The package is named the Geiger HP 790, which features a larger 4.0-liter compressor (up from the stock 2.3-liter unit), new throttle valves, a sports air filter, improved cooling systems, and revised engine electronics.
With these modifications, the supercharged 5.4-liter V8 is able to generate 790 horsepower and 863 Nm of torque.
The car is then able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.6 seconds, 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 9.6 seconds, and 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) in 22.8 seconds. After confirming in 2017 that its midsize pickup would be coming back to the United States, Ford took the wraps off the 2019 Ranger early last year. It featured an all-new design especially made for the US, and is a bit different from the Rangers sold overseas. Now, Ford is finally commencing the production of the 2019 Ranger at its newly transformed Michigan Assembly Plant in Detroit.
To mark the kickoff of the production of the new Ford Ranger, the carmaker had special celebrations at its Michigan Assembly Plant. The celebrations essentially mark the rebirth of the Ranger, which is slated to return to the US early 2019 following an eight-year hiatus. Likewise, the celebrations mark the rebirth of the plant that has been a witness to the ups and downs of the American auto industry in the past six decades.

When Ford unveiled its new Ford GT nearly four years ago at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the supercar was received very well even through the US carmaker only disclosed a few details. When the company started to produce the Ford GT, one thing was very apparent – the demand for the supercar greatly outstrips the supply. Two years into the supercar’s production, Ford is building more units than previously earmarked.
Even before it started production of the Ford GT, the US carmaker had said only 1,000 units of the supercar will be built. Ford had set the annual production pace for the Ford GT at 250 units every year. This means that supercar would have a production run that would last for around four years.
But when the US carmaker started accepting orders for the Ford GT, the total number of applicants quickly grew to more than 6,500. This number was just for the 2016 iteration of the supercar. In June this year, rival carmakers Ford and Volkswagen inked a memorandum of agreement for a possible strategic alliance. Months after signing the MoU, automotive industry analysts are now floating the ideas of possible merger or an equity swap between the American and German companies. Under the signed MoU, Ford and VW are exploring a number of potential projects in several areas like the development of a range of commercial vehicles together. Ford is giving potential Fiesta customers more reasons to purchase its world-renowned subcompact. Two of these are the introductions of new sporty model based from the ST-Line trim of the Ford Fiesta. New customers can now indulge with the new Ford Fiesta ST-Line Red Edition and the Fiesta ST-Line Black Edition. Ford is now selling the Ford Fiesta ST-Line Red Edition and Fiesta ST-Line Black Edition models in selected markets in Europe.
According to the carmaker, the ST-Line trim accounts for around 20 percent of total Fiesta sales this year. Perhaps the satisfying demand for the ST-Line – which endows the Fiesta a sportier and more dynamic appearance – has led Ford to create two new special editions based on this trim. These new editions – the new Ford Fiesta ST-Line Red Edition and the Fiesta ST-Line Black Edition feature distinctive exterior and interior elements that make them stand out from the rest.
Making full use of Ford Performance-inspired styling, these new Ford Fiesta ST-Line edition models are available in three- and five-door body styles. More and more vehicles are using automatic transmissions to send power from the engine to the wheels. Even supposed sporty cars have been ditching manual transmissions in favor of automatic gearboxes. But the upcoming 2020 Ford Bronco could come fitted with a manual transmission, according to a report by Jalopnik.
Citing a number of sources privy with the plans, Jalopnik reported that Ford is tapping Getrag to develop a new manual gearbox for the 2020 Ford Bronco. The partnership between Ford and Getrag to develop a new manual transmission for the Bronco isn't surprising as the German company is also the one producing the manual gearbox – the MT-82 six-speed unit -- for the Ford Mustang. The new manual transmission for the new Bronco will be named as the MT-88. As per Jalopnik’s sources, this Bronco-bound transmission will be a seven-speed unit that would send power to wheels from Ford’s 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine.
According to Jalopnik, there is a possibility that the new MT-88 manual transmission share components with the MT-82 manual gearbox. Likewise, Ford may also decide to use the new MT-88 manual transmission for the next generation of the Mustang. At the start of the year, Ford announced that it is planning to develop a new electric vehicle that focuses on performance. At the announcement, Ford said that the new performance EV would be named Mach 1. Eventually, the Mach 1 moniker was shelved, but not the performance EV. Now, Ford has released a new teaser that officially previews this upcoming EV.
During the January announcement, Ford said that this performance EV would released in 2020. In March this year, Ford Global Markets President Jim Farley remarked that the performance EV would be like a four-door SUV version of a Ford Mustang. Essentially, this means that the new performance EV would be an electric SUV with the looks or performance of the Mustang, or both.
Now, the recently released teaser image looks like a sketched silhouette of Ford’s new performance EV. It may seem so vague and unclear until a closer inspection reveals that it features the rear end of a Ford Mustang. That basically confirms the relationship of the new performance to Ford’s iconic pony car. Every June or July of every year, motor racing vehicles – especially historic ones -- flock at West Sussex, England to challenge the hillclimb event of the highly prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed. For the first time in the festival’s history, a vehicle will brave the hillclimb without a driver behind its wheels.
So far, the Goodwood Festival of Speed has been graced by conventionally powered and electrified vehicles. However, all of these vehicles completed the 1.86-km (1.16 miles) hillclimb with a driver piloting the steering wheel. This is due to change this July 12, 2018 when an autonomous vehicle created by the collaboration between Siemens and Cranfield University tries to run the course.
People who might want to witness the first autonomous hillclimb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, however, should not expect an all-new self-driving car climbing its way up to the Goodwood House. Instead, they should look out for 1965 Ford Mustang with a distinctive silver wrap. The sides of this 1965 Mustang feature the number “25”, commemorating the 25th anniversary of Goodwood. This autonomous Mustang also features the blue “Siemens” logo and a stripe running on the lower flank with the same color as the logo. The Ford F-150 Raptor is probably one of the coolest offroad vehicles out there, and the great news is that the automaker already has planned upgrades for the 2019 model year, to make the already rugged pickup even more capable. The upgraded truck will be easier to drive even on extremely bumpy roads, and this will be out in dealerships by the end of the year.
The Blue Oval will further improve the Raptor suspension after already fitting larger diameter FOX Racing shocks for the 2017 model year upgrade. The newest version features Live Valve technology that varies compression rates to adjust the damping to the terrain ahead.
This adapts to the terrain in real time to actively maximize handling, comfort and bottom out resistance. Sensors found on the suspension and body can monitor what’s happening while tweaking the setup accordingly. In 2017, actor and wrestling legend John Cena got in trouble when he purchased a brand new Ford GT, and then decided to sell it to another buyer. Because of this, Ford sued Cena for half a million dollars for violating the contract that stipulated that any Ford GT owner must not sell the unit within two years after purchasing it.
Cena decided to countersue Ford and this case is presently winding its way through court. Now, it seems like someone has not gotten the memo, as Motor Authority has noticed that a new Ford GT was put up at the Mercum auction block in Indianapolis this week. Of course, Ford had already begun investigating the situation.
Ford has revealed that they are aware of this and that they are looking into the situation. However, they will not comment on individual customer matters. A few days back, we discussed that Ford’s plan involves retiring most of its compact cars and sedans and replacing them with SUVs. However, there would be two small models that will remain in the lineup -- the Mustang and the Focus Active, at least for the United States. So what is the automaker’s reason for doing so? Well, the answer is as simple as this - money.
To support that statement, Jim Hackett, Ford’s CEO said in his interview with Automotive News that they have decided to just focus on the healthier part of the business, referring to trucks and crossovers. In the first quarter of 2018 alone, the company’s sales of $3 billion all came from this segment. Soon, 90 percent of all sales will come from this.
The CEO added that they will soon deal with the parts of the company that destroy value. He, of course, is speaking of sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, by 2022, they hope to uncover $25.5 billion in savings with the switch to SUVs and trucks. Several years ago, on April 15, 2013, Ford and General Motors signed an agreement to jointly use automatic transmissions that both automakers had developed. This was developed mainly for models like the F-150 and the Mustang. For the former, their part of the deal was to share its own 10 speed gearbox to rear wheel drive cars with GM, and in return, they will be able to use the 9 speed gearbox which they can use in front wheel drive crossovers, for a smoother and more efficient drive.
The gearbox seen in this photo, the Hydra-Matic 9T50, which was originally introduced in Chevy models with the 2017 Malibu, 2017 Cruze Diesel and the 2018 Equinox will not find its way inside a Ford model. Rather, the automaker opted to use an eight speed box for models like the Edge and the MKX that replaces the Lincoln Nautilus.
So what made them change their mind? Well, Ford believes that GM’s transmission is not good enough to handle the extra weight that comes from the new gear. That is not all, because it also argues that it does not justify the increased cost required for it to adapt to the Ford models. Production of the Ford Focus RS is scheduled to end exactly on April 6, but there might not be a long wait for the next one to get on the production line. According to our sources from Autocar, Ford’s hottest hatchback might actually arrive as early as 2020. This also brings back rumours that the new RS could get a hybrid powertrain.
If reports are accurate, the 2020 Ford Focus RS will keep the 2.3 liter turbocharged four cylinder. It might also get additional tuning which might slightly boost its output. Ford have recently been dropping hints about a new Ford Fusion, and what I mean is that they will soon reveal the redesigned sedan for 2020. But even before this, they are already considering a minor upgrade for the mid-sized 2019 model year.
