Over the years, GMC has offered more sophisticated versions of General Motors pickups and SUVs. At the same time, GMC’s Denali sub brand has turned their vehicles a little more upscale. And now, Chevy has gotten a sub brand that is more focused on the offroading segment.
GMC actually invited everyone a bit early to New York so that we could see the 2019 Sierra AT4, before its debut. This is the off roading variant of the pickup. At the same time, the automaker announced that all models in their lineup will carry the “AT4” badge for two years. They also made it clear that the AT4 line will be aimed at the off road segment.
When looking at the Sierra AT4, it does look like it has some offroad credibility. It even gets a two-inch lift kit with Rancho monotube shocks, and it sits on a set of either 18- or 20-inch wheels. The Sierra AT4 is available in four wheel drive and is standard with a two speed transfer case and a locking rear differential.Read the entire article 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 marks brand’s entry into off-road territory
GMC’s new Terrain and Acadia will be receiving dark suits for the 2019 model year in the Black Edition variant. The new SUVs not only will get a dark exterior trim, but this will be complemented by some glossy black highlights. This unique package will go on sale this summer, but we do not know yet how much it will be priced.
If you were wondering, the Black Edition package will be available on the Terrain’s SLE and SLT grades of the SUV. What comes with this package is a set of 19 inch gloss black wheels with five sets of dual spokes. Up front, the grille gets a dark insert and matching surround.
The exterior is adorned with black trim, from the side mirror caps to the roof rails. If black is not your favourite colour, there is no need to worry as you do not have to get the Black Edition in black, or what GMC refers to as the Ebony Twilight Metallic. Other available colours for the exterior include Summit White, Graphite Gray Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic, and Sedona Metallic.Read the entire article 2019 GMC Acadia and Terrain are now available in Black Editions
The 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD has arrived this week at the snowy mountains in Colorado for its winter long debut. GMC’s tracked Sierra Mountain Concept will be on display at the popular ski destination for the entire season in an effort to provide its audiences a better idea of what the off-roader has in store particularly when having to get through the icy cold mountain.
To get down to the nitty gritty of the concept, GMC has equipped the rig of the Sierra 2500HD with a set of Mattracks 150 Series. The tracks have been painted in GMC red to ensure it will be as attractive as the pickup’s body side graphics and other mountain-themed accessories. When viewing the vehicle at the front, you will notice the All-Mountain Concept is highlighted by the RIGID E-Series 30-inch light bar which is cleverly placed above the winch enough to conceal it. Likewise, a soft rollup tonneu by Advantage is placed at the back to cover the truck’s rear bed.
To conquer the snowy trails, the upgraded Denali 4WD Crew Cab has been equipped with several other accessories -- from Thule snowboard racks down to wheel well and underbody lights in LED. Even its passengers will find comfort with the cabin’s leather upholstery and cozy Bose stereo sound system when stuck in the cold. For sure, GMC has dressed up its pickup truck right for the season.Read the entire article 2018 GMC Sierra All Mountain Concept climbs Vail ski mountain for winter season debut
If you are looking at purchasing a GMC crossover now, the least you will have to spend is about $25,970. That’s the price of the 2018 Terrain model that is known for its controversial shifter. If you’re in the market for something else and you don’t mind waiting a few more years, here’s some good news. Duncan Aldred, Vice President of Buick and GMC, stated in his interview with Automotive News that they are currently evaluating a new entry-level crossover. If this is given the go signal, then expect to spend less on a smaller crossover in the coming years.
Aldred believes that it would be logical to add a smaller CUV to the family as a way to expand the company’s lineup. In doing so, the brand also provides a more affordable option compared to the 2018 Terrain. In another interview, he was also asked regarding models that would directly rival the upcoming Jeep Wrangler, and he said that the entry-level crossover would not compete with the Jeep as it is positioned in another segment. But he did say that there may be an opportunity for them in that segment, if the model gets the stamp of approval. The company actually admitted that they should have been the first to lead the small crossover segment.
The reason why the company is considering a model slotted under the Terrain might actually be because of the Encore’s success - this is the Opel Mokka’s North American sibling. The Encore had been the top-selling model of Buick since 2015. If GMC pushes through with their plan to come up with a smaller crossover, they will definitely attract the younger market, as this will cost thousands of dollars less than the Terrain’s starting price. Furthermore, GMC will have more opportunities to rival Jeep models, with the Renegade starting at $17,995 and the Compass at $20,995. Those two are already lower-priced options compared to the GMC Terrain.Read the entire article GMC hopes to reel in younger buyers with small crossover
American automaker General Motors is looking forward in regards to the Buick's new luxury sub brand future performance, if it will be at par with the success of GMC's line-up of Denali badged vehicles.
GMC'S Denali line-up, with its mixed chromed-up exteriors and French-stitched leather bolstered seat has worked wonders and is considered as the second U.S. luxury trademark for General Motors. The reported sales of the Denali was in the same level as the Acura and Cadillac the previous month and generated a higher transaction costs than Lexus and Audi.
Now GM is hopeful that the Avenir can replicate the GMC's Denali's success. The new luxury sub brand made its debut with its 2018 Enclave crossover at the New York Auto Show. GM will also apply the same formula utilized at Buick to the Avenir, hoping to add a dauntless grille, flashier wheels and a more comfy interior that will be cleansed by cabin-air ionizer.Read the entire article Can Buick Avenir follow in the footsteps of GMC Denali?
The upscale version of the GMC Yukon body-on-frame sport utility vehicle – the GMC Yukon Denali – has been refreshed for the 2018 model year. It now sports a new grille for a more expressive front end, a new interior trim for more depth, as well as a new 10-speed transmission for a more refined performance.
Although this is a refresh of the GMC Yukon Denali, it is enticing enough to attract new and even returning customers. First off, the 2018 iteration of the GMC Yukon Denali has a new grille that is flanked by HID headlamps and LED Signature Lighting. This is an evolved version of the iconic Denali grille, featuring a more sculpted and layered appearance.
Matt Noone, director for Global GMC Exterior Design, remarked that the new grille advances the design legacy that was set by original Yukon Denali in 1999. He noted that while the new grille features a more exciting and sophisticated design, it allows the Yukon Denali to be immediately recognizable as a member of the GMC Denali family.Read the entire article 2018 GMC Yukon Denali gets new grille, interior trim and 10-speed automatic transmission
General Motors crossover retail sales grew an impressive 20% last month, and recorded a 15% hike for the first 4 months of this year thanks to the performance of today's GMC line-up. Its sales are anticipated to further increase around summer with the launching of the brand new 2018 GMC Terrain. Now the American automaker has officially announced the pricing details of its upcoming crossover.
After 9 years on the market, GMC has finally decided to revamp its two-row Terrain, considered to be a slightly swankier variant of the Chevrolet's Equinox. The given price tag will get you the base SL model, which boasts of features such as proximity key with push button start, a leather covered steering wheel, LED taillights and daytime running lights. The next-gen Terrain will have a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $25,970, which includes the $975 destination charge. Terrain SL is equipped with a turbocharged 1.5 L 4-cylinder engine that will produce around 170 hp delivered to the front wheels by a 9 speed automatic transmission.
Those who prefer all-wheel drive will have to dish out $28,795 for the special luxury edition (SLE) trim. This option will require an additional $1,750 to the standard price. By choosing the SLE, buyers get the turbo-diesel 1.6 L engine that is paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission. Its 137 hp diesel inline 4 forces a solid 240 lb-ft of torque, a hugely impressive feat. However, it costs an extra $3,770 to get the SLE. The price rises to $34,315 if buyers opt for the AWD unit.Read the entire article Pricing starts at $25,970 for 2018 GMC Terrain
We’re not at all surprised after GMC introduced an all-new 2018 Terrain at this year’s Detroit Auto Show. To start with, the compact crossover is considered to be one of the brand’s best sellers. Since it has been ages since it was initially launched, there could never be a much better time for a change. Yes, finally, after eight long years, the crossover had its much needed facelift. GMC added not just one but three new turbocharged engines on the line-up. The interior has also been redesigned to match the new look of the exterior.
It’s very different from its sibling (the Chevrolet Equinox) even if the two are currently sharing the same platform. What GMC brought to the North American International Auto Show is a stunning compact crossover with swept back design, floating pillar and sloping roofline. By all means, the 2018 Terrain is a much sleeker version than the current model we have at the moment.
If we have to compare the latest with the current version, the length of GMC’s 2018 Terrain is shorter by 3.2 inches while its wheelbase is also shorter by 5.2 inches. As a result, the cargo space has decreased a little bit. But since the rear seats have been elevated while the back seats have been lowered, the total storage space has somehow increased from 29.6 to 63.3 cubic feet.Read the entire article 2017 NAIAS: GMC introduces 2018 Terrain with fresh new design and more engine options
After introducing the Sierra 1500 and Canyon All Terrain X pickups, GMC has decided to give the Sierra 4x4 2500 HD a variety of upgrades. And for that, we can expect GMC’s crew cab to have the new underbody plate, off-road suspension kit, leather seats, heated steering wheel, park assist among many others. The 2017 SLT Crew cab will be offered in All-Terrain X and four wheel drive. Seeing how it goes with the Sierra 1500, the strong-featured X package can give the 2500 HD pickup the same rugged appeal.
The exterior modifications and hardware enhancements will significantly improve the crew cab’s overall looks and off-road performance. Aside from the black accents, GMC added a bespoke grille surround in either Summer White or Black Onyx body paint. All these features are considered to easily distinguish the Sierra 2500 limited edition from its inferior counterparts.
Moreover, the 2018 Sierra HD All Terrain X features an 18-inch black set of wheels. The tyres, which come from Goodyear, are the heavy duty LT275/65R18. Other standard equipment that comes with the package consists of Eaton automatic locking rear differential and Z71’s off-road suspension system.Read the entire article GMC unleashed wilder Sierra 2500 HD All Terrain X with 910 lb-ft of torque

The current Sierra All Terrain truck is impressive enough but for the 2016 model-year, GMC has seen it fit to unveil a special edition of the Sierra called the Sierra All Terrain X. The X model takes all that the Sierra has been popular for, and adds in its own flavor to achieve incredible off-road performance as well as breathtaking visuals.
The All Terrain X is a reflection of customer preference, particularly a taste for personalization that’s now prevalent among drivers of off-road vehicles. GMC simply took those preferences, and applied them to the All Terrain X in the manner that it executed the old Sierra Denali.
The result – a limited edition model with the latest in driving and infotainment technology combined with an impressive monochromatic exterior finish. The Sierra All Terrain X’s capabilities are made possible by a set of mechanics and technologies, including an Eaton 4-wheel-drive locking rear differential as well as a Z71 Off-Road suspension package. General Motors is intending to reduce its powertrain warranty on MY2016 Chevrolet and GMC vehicles, saying that its current offer of 100,000-mile coverage wasn't a strong enough selling point. This means that the five-year/100,000-mile powertrain coverage will be trimmed to five years/60,000 miles for 2016 models.
Chevrolet and GMC, however, will still offer courtesy transportation and roadside assistance during the coverage period. The new warranty would be similar to those offered by GM's largest rivals like Ford, Toyota and Honda. South Korean carmaker’s Hyundai and Kia offer a 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain coverage.
Additionally, GM will trim its offer of two years of free maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations, on most new Chevrolet, GMC and Buick vehicles. Starting with MY2016 models, these brands will only allow two free service visits. GM started offering the current powertrain warranty for MY2007 vehicles, as announced by then-CEO Wagoner in September 2006.Read the entire article Powertrain warranty on MY2016 Chevy and GMC to be trimmed
