Updates on Gran Turismo Sport will add 15 new free cars, 35 more cars to arrive in 1Q-2018.

A couple of weeks ago, the Gran Turismo Sport was launched on Sony’s PlayStation 4 console. In the game, players get to choose from 162 cars. But that’s almost nothing compared to the new Forza Motorsport 7 that offers over 700 vehicles. This is why Polyphony Digital, the racing game developer, is working on improving this issue by adding more vehicles in the near future.

Having said that, Gran Turismo will be releasing a live update on November 27, and the so called Update 1.06 will include three free cars namely the IsoRivolta Zagato Vision Gran Turismo, the Audi R18, and the Shelby Cobra 427. Furthermore, the award winning video game franchise will receive a more substantial update 1.07, which adds 12 more vehicles, free of charge. Here is the list of the 12 cars that we should expect.

That’s not all Polyphony Digital has to offer, because they also promised to roll out an additional of 35 vehicles up until March 2018. Apart from a number of new vehicles, they will also be adding the number of tracks as well, though they did not specify how many will be added. Right now, there are 17 tracks that gamers can choose from.

One lucky gamer from Taiwan gets the chance to ultimately experience Gran Turismo Sport with the exclusive special edition that is priced at 1.398 Taiwanese dollars ($46,300). Why pay that much, you wonder? Well, the bundle comes with a lot of other toys, like an actual 2018 Mazda MX-5 Miata that the owner can drive after having mastered driving on the video game.

But that is not all. In fact, it comes with everything you will need to play the video game. The bundle includes a PS4 Pro, Playstation VR Goggles, a 12-month subscription to the PS Plus online service, and believe it or not, a 65-inch Sony Bravia 4K OLED television, a Thrustmaster T-GT steering wheel and pedals that are mounted onto an Apiga API racing seat simulator for the ultimate gaming experience.

Judge for yourself: Is X-Tomi’s M6 GT rendering better than the BMW 6-Series GT?

After the 2018 BMW 6 Series GT’s reveal, we felt as though the Bavarian company received comments that they did not expect to hear from readers and fans. It seems like the latest liftback model did not appeal to many, and so far, the new model has not got a lot of fans. So, X-Tomi Design did a rendering of the 6 Series with an M6 guise, giving it some subtle changes, to make it look more appealing.

First of all, X-Tomi Design gave the M6 GT larger intakes and deeper side sills up in the front fascia. The grille has been given a black trim instead of the silver which makes it appear larger too. There have been several details that have been added such as the carbon fiber roof that make for a sportier design. It also comes with chrome side mirror covers instead of camouflaging it with the rest of the body. The front spoiler and side skirts have been made to look more aggressive, while the suspension has been lowered as well. To finish off the design, the wheels have been made bigger and were blacked out. The darker trims definitely made the 6 Series look more aggressive, and look less of a family car.

Well, I would say that the rendering did give the current model more appeal. With the high contrasts of the blacks and the whites, it definitely got more character as opposed to the original 6 series.

2018 BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo receives sporty M Performance Parts

At BMW, there’s an obvious pattern. The German marque first releases the standard model to various markets and after a few weeks its sportier brother fitted with M Performance Parts will join the line-up. Others commented that the BMW 6 Series GT doesn't deserve the athletic kit, but even the 2 Series Active Tourer was given an M Sport Package, so at this point it is not that impossible that the 6 Series GT will follow suit.

The M Performance Package for the 6 Series was made possible thanks to the German marque's GmbH division that is solely responsible for producing the parts tailored to the recent model. One of the parts is the sporty exhaust system which promises to give a truly significant acoustic and visual dimension, in which the German marque claims that the sportier sound is still appropriate for cruising on the roads.

These words are heavily grounded, so we will have to hear it ourselves to consider it in the first place. The brand new system is paired with a stainless steel silencer and has round tips or trapezoid in chrome ,depending on the driver's chosen model, and these are made available for the 630i and 640i xDrive models. The models that have round designs are given an engraved "M" logo and the others are gifted with "M Performance" etching.

There are already rumors suggesting that the next generation BMW 5-Series GT is expected to be joining the 6-Series range. The latest reports instead tell us that that 3-Series GT will also be transitioning to the next level. Are any of these true?

Autocar reported earlier that this is actually what BMW has in store for the upcoming 3-Series GT. It should be noted though that the current 3-Series line has had its mid-cycle refresh only recently. In that case, the 4-Series GT or what is believed to be its new successor may be way too far ahead.

If ever, the new member of the 4-Series family should arrive sometime in 2019 as a 2020 year model. According to the insider, BMW by that time should come out with better-performing EVs and it only makes sense if they will be offering an electric version of this as well. At the very least, BMW is expected to come out with an electric X3 within the next three years.

It seems like BMW will be implementing a major overhaul of its strategy, which should result to the arrival of electrified versions of its three current models. One of these models would be an electric variant of the upcoming BMW 4 Series GT, according to a report by Autocar.

Citing people privy with BMW’s plans, Autocar reported that the new 4 Series GT is planned to directly replace the current BMW 3 Series GT and indirectly supplant the 4 Series Gran Coupé, which has been experiencing low demand since its inception. This strategy would be similar to a plan involving the BMW 6 Series GT, which is set to replace the BMW 5 Series GT in the lineup this year. BMW is planning to launch an electric version of the 6 Series GT in 2018.

Meanwhile, for the new 4 Series GT, the German premium carmaker will introduce the conventionally powered versions in 2019, to be followed by electric and plug-in hybrid variants. To be underpinned by newly developed platform for the eighth-generation 3 Series, the electric version of the 4 Series GT – set to compete against the Tesla Model 3 -- could be up for sale as early as 2020 in the United Kingdom. According to the report, the performance level of the electrically powered 4 Series GT would be more or less similar to the top-performing version of the current 3 Series GT – the BMW 335d GT, which offers the 317 bhp of max output and 630 Nm of peak torque. This means that the electric motor system for the battery-powered 4 Series GT should have a total system output of around 350 bhp to match the performance of the top BMW 335d GT.

We’re all excited as the year comes to an end especially as there are several things we’ve highly anticipated. Like always, the car industry has something new to offer; that’s why we’re looking forward to annual car events from different parts of the world. It’s a never-ending cycle. Behind all these, the car manufacturers feel all the pressure.

Not everyone was impressed when BMW released the not-so-good-looking 5 Series GT. From what we see, it’s going to take years before BMW will come up with a much better version. That is, if you will consider the typical product cycle for each model. The situation would have been totally different if only the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo looked otherwise.

Oh, and speaking of which, X-Tomi Design rendered a much-beautiful version of the 5 Series GT and we think it’s awesome. X-Tomi Design takes its inspirations from the new 5 Series. We hope this is where BMW’s future design would be going as well. We’re also bidding for a 6 Series GT from the M division, but that’s wishful thinking. But in case the current 5 Series look this good, we wouldn’t have to think twice.

The Frankfurt Motor Show is known to many as the event where automakers often introduce the new concept cars. For 2015, Hyundai took a different step and introduced to the world what it expects in terms of performance characteristics for its future offerings.
