The record was set by Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu at the Volkswagen Group’s Ehra-Lessien proving grounds. Bugatti partnered with French artist Bernar Venet to create the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport art car. Venet is known for art pieces that have been displayed at the biggest and best modern art museums in the world like the Guggenheim and Museum of Modern Art in New York City, Paris Centre Pompidou, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.
French dignitaries and politicians like Jacques Chirac and Nicolas Sarkozy have inaugurated and commissioned his work. He is actually one of just five modern artists to have been featured at the celebrated Chateau de Versailles in France. But what’s different with his latest work with Bugatti is that this project can transport itself unlike his sculptures and canvasses.
Venet took a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, the convertible version of Bugatti Veyron, which is already an impressive model with its 1000hp output from a quad-turbocharged, 8.0-liter W-16 engine, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and all-wheel drive. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse unveiled during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show last month has been making headlines. Why not? It is one of the few cars in the world that surpass a thousand horsepower. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is powered by an 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine that could provide up to 1,200 hp of output and 1,500 Nm of torque.
Other supercars pale in comparison with the Grand Sport Vitesse, even its standard Grand Sport elder sibling. The Grand Sport is powered by an engine that delivers around 1,000 hp of output and 1,250 of torque – already so superbly powerful, but is definitely no match for the Grand Sport Vitesse.
According to Bugatti, they were able to squeeze almost 200 hp more from the same engine by installing four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers. To handle the tremendous power brought forth by the engine, Bugatti modified the chassis of the Grand Sport Vitesse.Read the entire article Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse shows up in official video
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport was a huge success thanks to its powerful 7.9-liter W16 engine that could provide an astounding 1,200 hp (882 kW) of output and a massive amount of torque. Now that this same engine is being fitted to the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse, it is no wonder that this targa-topped model would easily attract customers.

He noted that Bugatti eventually managed to fit this W16 engine to the Grand Sport while factoring in all vehicle dynamics and aerodynamic parameters. And this 1,200 hp Grand Sport Vitesse is being unveiled to the world at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show as the fastest roadster ever.

When released through seven-speed DSG transmission to all four wheels, the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse could sprint from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds and reach a max speed 410 km/h (255 mph).Read the entire article Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is the open-top version of the Super Sport
At the 2012 Qatar Motor Show, Bugatti unveiled an exclusive and uniquely coloured Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport a.k.a. world’s fastest and most powerful open top car.
