2018 Kia Rio GT Line shows up ahead of Geneva Motor Show

Immediately after the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, automakers are now shifting their focus to the next major event, and that is the 2018 Geneva Motor Show that will be taking place in March. One of the first companies that have teased us with what’s soon to come would be Land Rover, with their fancy new Range Rover SV Coupe. Now, it is Kia’s turn as they are ready to reveal the sporty GT Line specification for its Rio supermini.

To give you a refresher, some models that are members of the GT Line family include the Picanto, Sportage, Optima and Sorento, and this new Rio GT Line is simply a visual pack that will give the B-segment hatchback a sportier exterior appearance. Up front, there will be a set of four-point “ice cube” LED fog lights, as it sits on a set of 17 inch alloy wheels that you can only get in this version. Kia has also added a few glossy black accents all over the model, contrasted with a chrome window trim and twin exhaust tips.

As for the interior, there aren’t a lot of things to discuss because the Rio GT will have the same interior as the standard Rio models. In fact, the only interior upgrade it gets is that it is now covered in a black synthetic leather and cloth upholstery with grey stitching, metallic accents, and carbon fiber look for the dashboard. It also gets a new flat bottomed steering wheel that gets a “GT Line” badge.

2013 Kia pro_cee’d GT and cee’d GT make their debut prior to Geneva Motor Show

Kia revealed that both the cee’d GT and pro_cee’d GT will be officially debuting during the 83rd Salon International de l’Automobile. Specifically, it will be presented on March 5, 2013, at Geneva. The brand also disclosed that making its world premiere will be its very own new and racy urban concept. To be presented as well will be the new Carens and the improved Optima Hybrid.

According to the brand, both the cee’d GT and the pro_cee’d GT will be joining Europe’s most high-profile segment. Kia added that these two models are slated to become the brand’s most performance-focused production models. The two models were designed in Europe through a team led by none other than President and Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer.

As such, both have that sporty and powerful style. They also have the dual-exhaust pipes, daytime running lights which use LED, attractive brake calipers in red, and the alloy 18-inch wheels. In addition, the cee’d GT will be powered by the GDI 1.6-liter turbocharged engine capable of 204 ps with peak torque of 265 Nm. This is the same engine fitted to the pro_cee’d GT. The power is transmitted to the wheels in the front using the manual six-speed transmission and allow the cee’d GT, as well as the pro_cee’d GT, to go from o to 100 km/h in merely 7.7 seconds.

2013 Geneva Motor Show: Mansory Sanguis based on Bentley Continental GT

For those who are not satisfied by the looks of their Bentley Continental GT, Mansory proposes the Sanguis. Set to make its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the Sanguis program offers a new body kit for the Continental GT consisting of a newly designed front apron, with proprietary daytime driving lights and an extra-light carbon fiber bonnet, carbon fiber front wings, carbon fiber rear widening components, a new set of side sills, a rear apron which delivers additional downthrust and a new exhaust system.

Moreover, the coupe was widened by 50 millimetres at the front axle and 60 millimetres at the rear axle. Under the hood, we find the same 6.0-liter W12 engine delivering 676 hp (494 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 780 Nm at 1,700 rpm. With these numbers, the Mansory Sanguis can sprint from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 322 km/h or 201 mph.

A new set of wheels 22-inch wheels with 10-double spokes is also available. The interior was not forgotten and Mansory offers the finest materials. Anything you want can be used at the interior. Furthermore, the interior also features aluminum pedals, door entry sills and Makassar ebony wood elements.

2013 BMW 3-Series GT to debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show

Spy cameras have captured what is believed to be the new BMW 3 Series GT, spiking speculations that company’s newest addition is coming out soon to join the saloon, Coupe and Touring estate. Just a prototype some time ago, it seems the 3 Series GT will have a production model built later.

The 3 Series GT features a higher ride height than its siblings, a raised driving position, shorter overhangs and muscular wheel arches.

With these features, the 3 Series GT is expected to provide more legroom than any other 3 Series.  The 3 Series GT also features a two-piece tailgate to allow small items to be loaded without the opening the entire cargo area.

A new hot hatch is ready to carry the high-performance will of South Korean carmaker Kia Motors. Designed, developed, engineered, and built in Europe, the new 2019 Kia Ceed could be considered as a more practical and more versatile version of the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, having the same engine and same power underneath their hoods.

Kia engineered and developed the new Ceed GT exclusively for European drivers and roads. It underwent six months of additional testing to ensure that the hot hatch is more agile and more engaging to drive.

The new Kia Ceed GT sits 5 mm lower than the standard Ceed and Ceed Sportswagon, allowing it to have a lower center of gravity. To offer a more assured ride without compromising drive comfort, the front and rear springs were made stiffer while the responses to steering inputs have been improved. The new Ceed GT also features softer front and rear anti-roll bars.

Lanzante Motosport is taking advantage of the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed to showcase its latest conversion project – the McLaren P1 GT By Lanzante. Allegedly commissioned by a rich client from the Middle East, the McLaren P1 GT By Lanzante is essentially a McLaren P1 GTR converted into a Longtail, easily capturing the attention of visitors at Goodwood.

Doing a project based from a McLaren P1 GTR isn't something new to Lanzante. After all, the British racing had been converting the track-only P1 GTR for use on the road. Lanzante also had six P1 GTR units converted to become road-legal P1 LM versions. Five of these P1 LM units were sold while the sixth example was retained as the XP1 LM to be used for development and testing. Interestingly, the XP1 LM managed to set the fastest ever time for a road car on the Goodwood hillclimb of the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, completing the 1.86-km course at just 47.07 seconds.

Now, another P1 GTR is making waves at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, but this time it has been converted into a longtail – the McLaren P1 GT By Lanzante. Prior to the event, Lanzante had been teasing us with the P1 GT conversion. The teases proved to be worth paying attention to, as the P1 GT revealed at Goodwood is spectacularly impressive.

Fans of McLaren are sure to be excited as the company has revealed it will be presenting a bespoke Senna Carbon Theme during the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. This is one of the five themes that are being developed in partnership with McLaren Special Operations.

As implied by the name, the most striking feature of this model is the complete body kit, all of which is composed of carbon fiber. In addition, the company revealed that this special edition supercar has a total of 67 parts, all of which took an estimated 1,000 hours to make. The Solar Yellow detailing for example took around 250 hours of work.

The black main hue and yellow detailing can be seen on the front active aero blades, the sill exteriors, and the rear wing. This particular color combination on the outside can also be seen on the interior particularly on the Alcantara sports seats in black contrasted by the yellow stitching. Its steering wheel even has a leather centre band in the same yellow hue. While the exterior has the Laurel Green brake calipers, the inside has the doors gas struts in the same color.

Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil the new X350d 4Matic X-Class at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It was back in July 2017 when the brand first premiered its pickup which utilizes the chassis, as well as certain body panels, of the Nissan Navara. However this version is set out to be the most expensive one yet.

This new model has a six-cylinder engine and the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive. Exactly one year ago on March 6th, Lamborghini decided to finally reveal the Huracan Performance at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This year, the automaker decided to get rid of the coupe’s roof for the same event that is held yearly in Switzerland. The Spyder pretty much has everything you would want in the fixed roof model, but only this model can pull off this type of body style, with the open top.

Even with the company’s same Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), the soft top Spyder has not been hampered in any way. The reason for the ALA is for it to create the sleekest body possible and consequently boost performance. The droptop Huracan also borrowed the coupe’s revised four-wheel drive system, along with an upgraded suspension and the optimized stability control.

Aside from that, Lamborghini’s engineers gave the droptop a lot of forged carbon fiber bits to cut down a total of 35 kilograms (77 pounds) over the standard Huracan Spyder, while also fiddling with its steering. The model now weighs 1,507 kilograms (3,322 pounds) when dry - distributed 43:57 front/rear. The fabric roof can then be lowered at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour (50 kilometers per hour).

The ever growing compact luxury crossover segment has something new for us again, as Lexus revealed the production ready UX at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Physically, it may not be as flamboyant as its namesake from 2016, but it will definitely still stand out in a crowd of compact crossovers.

Lexus UX has a huge corporate spindle grille that will truly catch one’s attention on the road. It also features full width taillights that make it look unique. In fact, this has been fitted by at least 120 individual LEDs. It sits on a set of either 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels that were specially made for the crossover. This has also been tweaked in the wind tunnel to improve airflow.

The UX isn’t just about its good looks. Instead, it rides on the company’s newest GA-C platform, which makes handling much easier. As for the car’s dimensions, it is 177 inches (about 4.5 metres) long, with a 103.9 inch (2.63 metre) wheelbase. The company also boasts a segment-leading turning circle of 34 feet (10.3 meters).

Likewise, Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept marks the return of the Supra name, around 16 years after it was last used on a vehicle. The Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept is being displayed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.

The GR Supra Racing Concept is a compact, two-door car with a pure front-engine/rear-wheel drive configuration. A concept created by Toyota Gazoo Racing – the international umbrella organization for Toyota's global sporting program -- GR Supra Racing Concept is packaged in a body that measures 4,574 mm in length, 2,048 mm in width, 1,230 mm in height as well as 2,470 mm in wheelbase.

It extensively employs strong yet lightweight composite material for the wide front and rear bumpers as well as front splitter and rear diffuser. As its name indicates, the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 boasts of 800 PS (789 hp or 588 kW) of max output from the heavily upgraded AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. The peak torque level has already been boosted from 900 Nm to 1,000 Nm (737 lb.-ft.) as available at just 3,600 rpm. An untouched AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is already powerful enough to send the AMG S 63 – both sedan and coupe versions -- sprinting from nil to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and achieving a top speed of 250 km/h.

But the upgraded eight-cylinder mill with its boosted power allows the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 to dash from true zero to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds quicker than their regular counterparts. As for the top speed of the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63, these tuned units could go as fast as 300 km/h (186 mph). For those seeking a faster unit, Brabus is currently working hard to create some tweaks to allow the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 to go a lot faster.

Nicko McBrain isn’t just famous for being the drummer of the already legendary British heavy metal band Iron Maiden as he is also known for his utter love of Jaguar cars. At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Jaguar Classic is presenting a McBrain-commissioned custom-built 1984 Jaguar XJ6 dubbed as the ‘Greatest Hits.’

The unveiling of the Greatest Hits XJ6 practically kicked off the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Jaguar XJ this year. The XJ is now 50 years old, and the bespoke Jaguar Classic commission is a great example of how this full-size luxury saloon has been able to stand the test of time. McBrain now considers the Greatest Hits as his ultimate dream XJ.

Expert engineers and skilled craftsmen at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works spent over 3,500 man hours to recreate the 1984 XJ6 into the Greatest Hits XJ6. The project also involved more than 4000 replaced, redesigned or refinished parts. Tesla surprised the automotive world in November 2017 when it unveiled a new electric car that could go from zero to 60 mph in an astonishing 1.9 seconds. Now, Rimac Automobili is pulling off a better surprise by unveiling a new electric car that could achieve the sprint in an awe-inspiring 1.85 seconds. Let us all welcome the new Rimac C_Two hypercar.

Rimac unveiled this new electric hypercar creation at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, implicitly announcing itself as true challenger to Tesla. The carmaker essentially created some noise when it introduced the Rimac Concept One coupe. As per Rimac’s Web site, the Concept One boasts of 1,224 hp (918 kW) of max output and 1,600 Nm of instant torque. This power allows the Concept One to sprint from nil to 62 mph in just 2 seconds. Compared to the Tesla Roadster, the Rimac Concept One is a slow machine, but the Croatian carmaker was just getting started.

The new C_Two could be considered as the next stage of evolution for Rimac in terms of electric car development. It is superior compared to the Concept One in many aspects, including power and performance. Just like the Concept One, the C-Two makes use of four electric motors. However, the power output and torque levels of the motors in the C-Two are much higher, at 1,914 hp (1,408 kW) and 2,300 Nm, as backed by a 120-kWh capacity battery pack with 6,960 cells.

Mercedes-AMG GT fans and enthusiasts got really excited when the carmaker unveiled the AMG GT Concept a year ago in Geneva. This four-door coupe concept was meant to preview a production version that blends a coupe design with sedan practicality. A year later at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the performance brand has taken the wraps off that production model – the new 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe.

The excitement buildup before the big reveal was real, and the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe didn’t disappoint. It was the model that people had been expecting but it managed to go beyond expectations. For instance, the new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe looks nearly the same as the AMG GT Concept. There are some differences in styling, of course, but in the end, the resemblance isn't surprising, as both models follow the design philosophy of Sensual Purity.

AMG reinterpreted the striking proportions and muscular body, as well as the sensuous shapes and convex surfaces of AMG GT Coupe to a stunning effect fitting for a four-door version of the high-performance car. Just like other members of the AMG GT family, the AMG 4-Door Coupe features an AMG-specific grille, Shark Nose, slim Multibeam LED headlamps and a front bumper with a Jet Wing. It also borrows an element from AMG GT R – the Airpanel, which is basically composed of radiator shutters in front of the center cooling air inlet. The racetrack-bred Zenvo TSR has been so awe-inspiring that some drivers are aching to take it to the streets. But they couldn’t, as the TSR isn't designed to be legally driven on the streets. However, Zenvo Automotive is unveiling a new version of the TSR that could be legally driven on the streets – the all-new Zenvo TSR-S.

Zenvo intended the new TSR-S as a street legal version of the TSR, which is why it bears the ’S’ in its model name. It is the third model in Zenvo’s TS (Twin Supercharged) model lineup and is basically a crossover between the TS1 GT car and the TSR, marrying remarkable on-road capabilities and utmost exclusivity. After all, Zenvo is planning just to build five examples of the TSR-S a year – a testament to its exclusive nature. The Danish high-performance carmaker has already commenced production of the new TSR-S.

In terms of design, the new TSR-S looks very similar to its two TS siblings. Its overall appearance is more aggressive than the TS1; yet, it is less menacing than the TSR. Just like the TS1 and the TSR, the new TSR-R features an advanced aerodynamic design. However, its development was focused on delivering unmatched levels of driving dynamics.

According to the French carmaker, the new EZ-GO is an electric, autonomous robo-vehicle and ride-hailing concept that features an iconic design that allows it to integrate into the environment while maximizing new ways of urban mobility.

With operations undertaken by either private or public companies, EZ-GO allows people to hail a ride either from a pre-determined or a mobile location. Renault believes that mobility solutions and smart cities of the future could achieve success by integrating vehicle-service to city infrastructure, as this enables them to leverage sensors, data analytics and connected services as well as multimodal systems.
