Honda has long held a strong position when it comes to the three-row SUV segment. With the new 2017 Pilot, Honda hopes that this will strengthen its position even further. The model will become available for purchase on November 7, 2016, and it will have a functionality that customers are sure to love. Specifically, it will be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In addition, the choices for color on the interior have been increased. Installed inside is a touchscreen that’s fingerprint-resistant.
That the 2017 Pilot has this functionality should not be a surprise as Honda is the first to have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto installed to their models. This was first observed with the 2016 Civic and even the 2016 Accord. The functionality mentioned is integrated to the all-new Display Audio 8-inch touchscreen. To ensure that the risk of fingerprints appearing on the screen is minimized, the touchscreen has a new coating applied to it. This also allows the touchscreen to continue having a high glare resistance. However, the Android and Apple adaptability are only available for trims starting with Pilot EX and higher.
According to Jeff Conrad, who is the General Manager and Senior Vice-President of Honda Division, as a third generation of the Pilot, this new model has been a success with many SUV customers. For the 2017 model, the brand made sure that the Pilot would have the technology and the choices that many customers want, he added. Indeed, under the 2017 Pilot, Honda improved the customization even further by making available on all trims the black interior. White Diamond Pearl paint for the exterior will be offered as an option, something that was only made available for the Elite in the past.Read the entire article Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now integrated to 2017 Honda Pilot

Honda Motor Co. has issued the recall of nearly 347,000 Pilot sport utility vehicles throughout the globe for a possible problem with the front seat belts. Honda said that the recall, which covers vehicles produced in Lincoln, Ala., for model years 2009-2011, is due to the risk of injury from the driver or front passenger seat belts getting disconnected from the anchor webbing in an accident. Honda said that the problem has not resulted to any injuries or fatalities.
Honda said that the recall resulted from a manufacturing defect on a small group of front seat belts. The stitching that connects the lap section of the belt to the outboard anchor webbing could be incomplete or may even be missing.
Honda will start to give written notification to the Pilot owners in early October. Honda divulged that nearly 311,000 of the Pilot SUVs were located in the U.S. Another 10,000 are located in Canada while there are over 8,000 in Mexico and the rest are in other countriesRead the entire article Honda recalls 347,000 Pilot sport utility vehicles due to front seat belts problem
For 2012, the Honda Pilot eight-passenger SUV is offered with a wide variety of modifications with a sleeker front-end design, improved interior features and an EPA highway fuel economy rating of 25 mpg on two-wheel-drive models. This reflects a boost of 2 mpg over the 2011 models. The new styling for the front fascia, with its three-bar chrome-style grille, leads to a crossover SUV look that’s more sophisticated.
The styling changes in its interior are focused on instrument panel refinement and a more intuitive button layout. The audio system improvements on Pilot EX and EX-L models consist of a 2 GB CD-Library (CD-L) and Bluetooth Audio Streaming and the use of Bluetooth HandsFreeLink for these trim levels too.
The Pilot EX-L’s upgrades include the use of a full-color 8-inch intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) for audio and vehicle information. The models that are equipped with the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System for 2012 get subscription-free FM Traffic, 15 GB audio hard disk drive memory (HDD), and a higher-resolution display. The fuel economy gains for 2012 stem from the upgrades to the powertrain, chassis and vehicle aerodynamics.Read the entire article 2012 Honda Pilot: official details, photos, specs and price
The official details and images of the 2012 Honda Pilot have been released recently. At first glance, there doesn’t appear to be anything exceptional about this vehicle. But then, what consumers will love about this reliable family car is that can carry up to eight people and their luggage. The changes on the new car’s exterior are plainer compared to those on the older model.
The 2012 Honda Pilot got a new redesigned fascia that’s very different from the previous model’s eye-catching sci-fi inspired version. Honda is recalling about 10,800 Accord and Pilot models produced as part of the late 2010 and 2011 model years. Honda said that the problem is related to potential front suspension failure.
Honda says the defect stems from the assembly lines of the models, where the machinery didn’t properly accomplish its task of tightening the spindle nuts on the front axles of both vehicles, as well as the damper attachment bracket bolts for the Pilot. It wasn’t Honda that detected the problem.
Instead, the flaw was discovered by its Honda Manufacturing of Alabama plant where the models are manufactured. They found a flaw in the software which operates the machine.Read the entire article Honda recalls 2010-2011 Accord, Pilot cars over suspension-failure risk
