2018 Jaguar F-Pace, XE and XF to be fitted with three new Ingenium powertrains

Jaguar is placing three new Ingenium engines on the F-Pace crossover, XF saloon and XE sedan for the 2018 model year. According to Jaguar’s recent announcement, the updates will also be including new equipment and advanced technology.

As stated, there will be a 236 hp 2.0-liter twin turbo four-cylinder diesel engine for the 2018 F-Pace, XF and XE. This is the first time for a Jaguar Land Rover engine to be equipped with twin turbochargers along with newly updated fuel injectors, crankshaft and pistons to boot.

In line with this, Jaguar also offers two 2.0-liter petrol powertrains with either 197 hp or 246 hp engine performance. The 197 hp 2.0 liter petrol by all means is more practical for the compact XE range as compared with the much bigger XF saloon model. Except for the F-Pace, both XF and XE will be offered with a 197 hp 2.0-liter new engine.

Jaguar sees surge in sales in 2016 on back of F-Pace and XE

After seeing its sales in the United States drop 7 percent to 15,773 vehicles in 2014, Jaguar is looking forward to surge next year when it is already offering its two upcoming products – the F-Pace crossover and XE compact sedan. Porsche unveiled the F-Pace – its first crossover -- at the Detroit auto show and will commence sales later this year.

The crossover will be pitted against the likes of the BMW X3 and X5, the Porsche Macan and the Audi Q3, according to Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover's global sales director. He noted that Jaguar Land Rover is investing $5.3 billion in new products this year.

Goss remarked that the F-Pace is one of Jaguar’s most important as the compact crossover segment is seen to surge 40 percent globally in the next half decade. He added that the F-Pace and the XE compact luxury sedan will boost the Jaguar brand since they appeal to a wider and younger cross-section in volume segments.

2019 Jaguar XE 300 Sport sets new production saloon record at original Circuit de Charade

Unveiled in April this year, the 2019 Jaguar XE 300 Sport special edition is out to prove that it is potent enough to set new records. It just did so after breaking the decades-old record at the original track of the Circuit de Charade in France.

Located in Saint-Genes-Champanelle, France, the modern Circuit de Charade is a technical circuit with a total distance of 3.975 km (2.470 mi) and a total of 18 turns. A challenging circuit for many drivers, the current circuit is not how it used to look around 30 years ago. After all, the modern Circuit de Charade just came into existence in 1989. It was built using the southern portion of the original Circuit de Charade.

The original Circuit de Charade is considered as an iconic circuit in France, having hosted the French Grand Prix four times (1965, 1969-1970, 1972) and the French motorcycle Grand Prix ten times (1959-1964, 1966-1967, 1972, 1974). It was constructed in 1957 and opened in 1968, and was built using pre-existing roads around the Puy de Dome volcano.

For quite some time now, we have been seeing the Jaguar F-Pace SVR being tested on the roads. We last saw it near the Nurburgring but this prototype was in a camouflaged suit even as it showed off its new performance credentials. Nevertheless, we will not have to wait too long until we see the prototype stripped off of its camouflage, and in person. Jaguar has officially announced the F-Pace SVR’s debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show.

If asked about the model, the automaker will say that the Jaguar F Pace SVR is currently the fastest and most powerful of its kind. This is because it had been equipped with a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine that works with a 10 speed automatic transmission.

This engine, when in the F-Pace SUV, is slightly detuned. But this can also be found in the F-Type SVR and carries out 567 horsepower (422 kilowatts) and 516 pound feet (700 Newton metres) of torque. Suspension and brakes will get an upgrade, and we also expect a similar raucous exhaust note like that of the F-Type to be carried over as well.

The 2018 Jaguar XEL with its stretched-out wheelbase and longer doors is the newest addition to the growing list of premium sedans in China---joining the ranks of Mercedes-Benz C-Class L, BMW 3Li and Audi A4L in the long wheelbase category.

Given the increased wheelbase measurement, the XEL is basically an upsized XE variant. But to further differentiate between the regular XE and the elongated sedan, the XEL’s side sills and door handles have been specially painted in chrome in addition to the special XEL badges placed across the windows.

The wheelbase now has an overall measurement of 2,935mm (or 115.5 inches) after Jaguar has extended the distance between the two axles by 3.9 inches (100mm). In contrast, the standard XF’s wheelbase is longer by an inch or 25mm. With this additional measurement, the new XEL offers more legroom than the XE with at least an extra 4.4 inches (112mm) as well as an additional knee space of 3.9 inches (100mm) on the rear seats.

Customers can choose from the three power upgrades that are available starting with the 20d that gives the base model an extra 35 hp or equivalent to 26kW, providing the SUV a total output of 215hp (160kW) over the standard 180hp (134kW).

Jaguar has just released the first official image of its newest offering, the new Jaguar XEL. Essentially the long-wheelbase version of the Jaguar XE compact sedan, the new Jaguar XEL is designed to offer a more spacious interior and is targeted only towards the large auto market in China.

Customers in China are known to prefer premium vehicles, especially ones that offer a spacious rear cabin. This is primarily because more Chinese customers like to be chauffeured, instead of being behind the steering. Because of this, vehicles offering more than ample legroom in the rear cabin are heavily desired by Chinese customers. To this end, carmakers are incessant in offering lengthy vehicles or long-wheelbase versions of their current models. Jaguar has already joined the long list of carmakers trying to get a chunk of the humongous auto market in China. Just last year, Jaguar launched the long-wheelbase version of the XF – the XFL – in the country. Now, the British carmaker officially revealed the looks of the new Jaguar XEL.

Overall, the Jaguar XEL basically looks like the Jaguar XE, except for some tweaks on the dimensions of a number of its parts to accommodate the longer wheelbase. Underpinned supposedly by the new JLR modular vehicle architecture that also underpins the Jaguar XE and XF, the new Jaguar XEL also features a coupe-like profile and a dynamic cab-rearward stance. It has the same dynamic sculpted hood and signature J-Blade daytime running lights as the XE.

It has not been kept a secret that the Jaguar XE will be arriving soon. Well, the day has come for the 2018 Jaguar XE SV Project 8, with a number of new upgrades and power courtesy of the manufacturer’s Special Vehicle Operations crew. Under the hood comes a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing up to 592 horsepower with 516 pound feet or torque. This upgrade makes the Project 8 the most powerful road car ever by Jaguar.

Land Rover Special Operations Managing Director John Edwards, said that “SVO’s raison d’être” is to release halo vehicles that push the limits when it comes to “luxury, performance and all-terrain capability.” He also described Project 8 as a “great example” of a venture that came about as a result of designers, engineers and manufacturing specialists who were given the chance to develop extreme performance sports car “without compromise.”

A lot of carbon fiber pieces have been used to build the Project 8, from the front and rear bumpers to the vented hood. The model looks more masculine thanks to its new bodywork, that also makes enough space for 20-inch forged alloy wheels. An all-wheel drive is standard for the Project 8.

German tuning shop AC Schnitzer is all well-known for tweaking aftermarket vehicles made by BMW and Mini as well as, to some extent, Land Rover. However, that doesn’t mean that this famed German tuner is limited to tuning such vehicle makes. As proof, it recently churned a vehicle from Land Rover’s sister brand, Jaguar.

However, AC Schnitzer’s latest creation is somewhat subdued when compared to its previous works. We are referring to a tweaked version of the Jaguar F-Pace, courtesy, of course, of AC Schnitzer. Nonetheless, the tweaks made on the Jaguar F-Pace are visually enticing as well as performance enhancing. After all the works were done, this F-Pace became the very first Jaguar that AC Schnitzer has tuned.

Up front, the most apparent changes include the installation of a new front fascia with a carbon fiber diffuser – a new aerodynamic component that could be availed on the "R-Sport," "S," "Pure," "Prestige," or "Portfolio" trims of the Jaguar F-Pace. This aerodynamic element on the front is matched on the rear with the addition of a new rear roof wing, thereby allowing the tweaked F-Pace to generate more downforce than its regular counterpart.

In 2014, Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations revealed the F-Type Project 7. At that time, it was said to be the fastest accelerating road car carrying a 5.0-liter Supercharged V8 engine, producing 567 horsepower, reaching 62 miles in 3.9 seconds, and maxing out at 186 miles per hour.

Years have passed and Jaguar SVO is back at it again, now with an XE SV Project 8 - that’s quite a mouthful. The company is raising the compact sedan to another level with regards to its aerodynamics and performance. In other words, they are building a supercar that’s disguised as a sedan. Jaguar promised that the XE will be having a 5.0-liter V8 engine under its hood, enabling it to produce 600 horsepower. Therefore, living up to their promise, and this will soon be the most powerful road-legal Jaguar.

The company aims at well-heeled collectors, and to keep the model exclusive and limited, only 300 units of the super-saloon will be produced. And each one of them will be hand-assembled by SVO in Coventry, UK, where their Technical Center is located.

There is no denying that the performance versions of the Jaguar F-Type and the Land Rover Range Rover are definitely hot – both in terms of looks and road dynamics. These are all thanks to the hard work put up by the skilled people of Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division. Because of their unique set of skills, these people from SVO could make hot vehicles like the F-Type and the Ranger Rover even much hotter.

SVO, however, might have another surprise for us on the pipeline. That is, if the report from AutoExpress is credible enough to be true.

It hasn’t been very long since Jaguar launched its newest revolutionary model – the XE sedan. When it was launched in 2015, the Jaguar XE did thrill and excite quite a number customers not only in the United Kingdom but also around the world. With nearly two years since its sales commenced in 2015, perhaps it is now high time to release an update this model – into something that would be much better and hotter than the Jaguar XE we know. That is where SVO comes in.

Jaguar sure knows how to announce its offerings. In fact, the British carmaker shocked and awed the motor world by having its all-new Jaguar F-PACE perform a gravity-defying stunt on the eve of the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.

We already knew that Jaguar was working hard on crossover and today, the new vehicle also received a name: it will be called the F-Pace. Clearly inspired by the C-X17 sports crossover concept, the new Jaguar F-Pace will take on vehicles such as the Audi Q5, Porsche Macan and the BMW X3.

As you can see, the F-Pace will face a tough segment, but we expect to see an interesting vehicle because Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum says that it will be company’s family sports car. In addition, Jaguar Land Rover global sales director Andy Goss said that the F-Pace will become one of the most innovative Jaguars they have ever developed.

According to the British manufacturer, the F-Pace will be introduced later this year, but not too many details were shared.
