Making its global debut at the Goodwood Hill during the press launch day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the new Jaguar XFR-S, prototype version of carmaker’s fastest sports saloon. Finished in Italian Racing Red, the Jaguar XFR-S was driven in front of the press at Goodwood by Andy Wallace, victor of the 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours.
Joining the Jaguar XFR-S at press day of Goodwood Festival of Speed are some of the carmaker’s winning sports vehicles. Among them is a 1962 Jaguar Mk. II prepared by Jaguar Heritage Racing and a 1954 ‘short nose’ Jaguar D-Type that is also a development prototype. The vehicles were displayed by the Jaguar Heritage Trust in front of Goodwood House.
The new Jaguar XFR-S, first unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2012, could accelerate from rest to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 186mph (300km/h). The XFR-S builds on the performance of the much-praised Jaguar XFR to become a more focused sports car.Read the entire article Jaguar XFR-S is launched on Goodwood Festival of Speed press day
Jaguar unveiled its fastest sedan ever -- the XFR-S – at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The top-of-the-line model veers away from its traditional conservative look and instead, it offers a much bolder style. Jaguar gave it a modified front fascia with bigger air intakes while its wider side sills, special badging and a carbon rear spoiler are very prominent.
But the XFR-S is actually not so much a new car as a model filled with some of the brand’s favorite features. Similar to what the XKR-S coupe received, the exterior of the XFR-S also receives some spicy details. These cars are powered by the same revised version of Jaguar’s 5.0-liter supercharged V8, which delivers 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque.
Using an eight-speed transmission and the Jaguar Quickshift technology (developed for thee F-Type), the new XFR-S accelerates from naught to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds (100 km/g in 4.6 seconds) and has a top speed electronically limited to 186 mph or 300 km/h.Read the entire article LA Auto Show: 2013 Jaguar XFR-S priced at $99,000
After one teaser, the all-new Jaguar XFR-S was finally unveiled today at the 2012 LA Auto Show. The new car will be powered by the same engine found on the XKR-S, which means a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine capable to pump 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. With these numbers, the XFR-S will hit 100 km/h (62) mph in 4.5 seconds and will have a top speed electronically limited to 186 mph or 300 km/h.
In terms of design, the XFR-S comes with a new aggressive body kit consisting of a new front bumper with larger air intakes, new side sills, a big rear wing and a new rear bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system. Moreover, the new Jaguar XFR-S will be available in 5 special colors: French Racing Blue, Ultimate Black, Stratus Gray, Italia Racing Red and Polaris White.
What’s more interesting about this car is that its eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF will adapt to your driving style, which means if you have an aggressive style of driving the transmission will automatically make the gear changes at higher revs. Still, this doesn’t mean that when you stop at a traffic light, the standard Start/Stop system won’t shut down your engine.Read the entire article 2013 Jaguar XFR-S unveiled at the LA Auto Show
It was not a secret that Jaguar will unveil the new XFR-S sports sedan at the 2012 LA Auto Show but today, the British manufacturer now owned by Tata Motors revealed the first teaser with the car. Although there are no details, we do know that the new XFR-S will be powered by a supercharged V8 engine capable to deliver 550 hp, the same engine found on the XKR-S.
This engine will make the XKR-S the fastest and most powerful sedan the company has ever produced. This is the second model in the ultra-high performance R-S range and builds on the already acclaimed XFR. Beside the XFR-S, Jaguar will also bring the Jaguar F-Type and for the first time it will be shown in Black Pack performance trim.

Jaguar has been spied while testing its near-production-ready XF prototype in the Midlands last week. It’s believed that this is the company’s new XFR-S saloon. Jaguar officials said that the company is currently developing this car, which is likely to be powered by the supercharged 542bhp V8 engine, the same one used on the hardcore XKR-S.
Fans expect this car to be introduced this November at the Los Angeles Motor Show, according to Autocar. This prototype is in a more advanced phase than those previously spotted near the Nürburgring. It comes with several aerodynamic features that appear to be headed for the production version. There is a small lip spoiler at the front while there’s another fixed spoiler on the bootlid at the rear.
This new model offers Jaguar with a stronger competitor to the 552bhp BMW M5 and 549bhp Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Insiders say that the standard 503bhp XFR has been beaten by its modern rivals when it comes to its features.Read the entire article Jaguar XFR-S to make its debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show
