Jeep had recently teased the refreshed 2019 Jeep Cherokee mid-size sports utility vehicle that will be unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The refresh included a new front end with a tweaked nose and headlight design. While the Jeep Renegade isn't getting a major refresh yet, recently leaked images show that the brand’s compact SUV is getting some subtle changes to its styling for the 2019 model year.
An Instagram user who goes by the name “Renegade Jeeps” has posted two images of the upcoming 2019 Jeep Renegade. One of the images shows the front end of the Renegade, while the other picture reveals the center stack inside the compact crossover. The Instagram user described the enhancements made on the front end of the Jeep Renegade as a facelift, although these visual tweaks weren’t major ones. For instance, the front end of the new 2019 Jeep Renegade features more angular elements than before. The headlights have also been revised, and they now sport new rectangular sections in the middle section. Furthermore, cutouts that border the circular headlights are now given a square-like shape.
Likewise, the new 2019 Jeep Renegade now comes with light-colored element around each rim. On the other hand, the overall trim of the grille in the 2019 Renegade has been made lighter than other parts of the body, resulting to a two-tone character up front. In addition, the edges of each of the seven slots on the iconic grille are now sharper than those on the current Renegade. Furthermore, the distance between the fog lights seems to have been reduced.Read the entire article Spy images show tweaks on front grille and infotaiment screen of 2019 Jeep Renegade
No thanks to malfunctioning brakes, the rear wheel of the Jeep Renegade SUV could be lifted off the ground during hard breaking. This was the discovery made by Spanish automotive journalist Pablo Gonzalez while test driving it.
It is pretty easy to under that under heavy braking, the weight of the vehicle is usually thrown forward. When this happens on a motorcycle, its rear wheel could lift off the ground. However, even if the weight of a car is thrown forward, its rear wheels aren’t usually lifted off the ground. But it could happen in a Jeep Renegade.
In 2015, Gonzalez was in the midst of testing a 1.6-liter Jeep Renegade when he decided to do an emergency braking test from around 84 mph (135 km/h). He narrated that he was already expecting the body of the front-wheel-drive diesel-powered Jeep Renegade to lean forward during emergency braking. However, the SUV continued to lean forward and then he was seeing all asphalt on his front instead of the sky on his horizon.Read the entire article Faulty brakes could cause rear wheels of Jeep Renegade to lift off the ground [w/video]

Because of software problems, several new Jeep Renegade subcompact crossovers have not been given to dealers, according to Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne. He admitted that the Jeep Cherokee, which made its debut in 2013, also had a similar problem.
Marchionne made these statements last Tuesday after having been awarded by the SAE Foundation as the industry leader of the year. The launch of the Cherokee had to be put off for several months due to the software that controlled its nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system.
The same nine-speed automatic is used on the Renegade but it uses a different all-wheel-drive system. He said that he is “having a very bad engineering day” and that his life has become “horrible” because of this vehicle’s set of attributes. Sales of the Renegade started in the middle of March.Read the entire article Software issues delay release of Jeep Renegade

Mike Manley, Jeep brand boss, is confident that fans will be not discouraged from buying the Jeep Renegade even if it is made in Italy. The Renegade is the brand new entry model and will be the first Jeep produced outside of the United States. According to Manley, he has heard "nothing so far" from Jeep fans complaining that one of the brand’s models is being built in Italy, noting that Jeep customers are more concerned about off road performance.
"We needed to be able to trail-rate it," Manley told Automotive News at the Geneva auto show. "So the launch of the Trailhawk is very important," he said. Jeep unveiled the Renegade Tuesday in Geneva. The Renegade is underpinned by a platform that will also underpin the upcoming Fiat 500X. Both models will be produced in Fiat’s Melfi site in Italy.
