South Korean carmaker Kia has a new version of its Kia Ceed. It performs just like a standard Kia Ceed but it does look similar to the high-performance Kia Ceed GT. Kia believes that this new offering – the all-new Kia Ceed GT Line -- will strengthen the appeal of its new mid-size family car range.
The new Kia Ceed GT Line, which Kia has just unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, can be availed on every version of the new Ceed (Ceed five-door hatchback and Ceed Sportswagon). On the other hand, the ProCeed shooting brake variant comes standard as the Kia ProCeed GT Line.
On the exterior, the new Kia Ceed GT Line is laden with unique GT-inspired design elements a satin chrome and gloss black ‘tiger-nose’ grille surround, newly designed front and rear bumpers similar to that of the Ceed GT and ProCeed GT. Horizontal metallic ‘blades’ are found on the fog lamp surround. Available in any of the 10 available paint finishes, the new Ceed GT Line models rides on 17-inch wheels, on optional 18-inch GT Line alloy rims.Read the entire article 2018 Paris Motor Show: Kia Ceed GT Line borrows styling cues from Ceed GT hot hatch
A new hot hatch is ready to carry the high-performance will of South Korean carmaker Kia Motors. Designed, developed, engineered, and built in Europe, the new 2019 Kia Ceed could be considered as a more practical and more versatile version of the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, having the same engine and same power underneath their hoods.
Kia engineered and developed the new Ceed GT exclusively for European drivers and roads. It underwent six months of additional testing to ensure that the hot hatch is more agile and more engaging to drive.
The new Kia Ceed GT sits 5 mm lower than the standard Ceed and Ceed Sportswagon, allowing it to have a lower center of gravity. To offer a more assured ride without compromising drive comfort, the front and rear springs were made stiffer while the responses to steering inputs have been improved. The new Ceed GT also features softer front and rear anti-roll bars.Read the entire article 2019 Kia Ceed GT is a hot hatch with aggressive looks and 204 PS in power
The outgoing Kia Cee’d nameplate has had a pretty huge success since it was first revealed in 2012, with sales figures of around 640,000 units. However, the segment has become more challenging for the Korean automakers because of how its rivals have improved their offerings, including the Honda Civic, Volkswagen Golf, and the upcoming 2018 Ford Focus. And this is why Kia decided to raise the model’s game as it revealed their all new model ahead of its debut at Geneva next month.
Now, the automaker made a slight change to its name, now turning it into “Ceed”, by taking out the apostrophe. The reason for this is for it to appeal to the worldwide market. Ceed actually stands for “Community of Europe, with European Design”.
Similar to its predecessor, the 2018 Kia Ceed still has the automaker’s signature “Tiger Nose” grille tradition, flanked with ice cube daytime running lights that are pretty standard for them. This model gets more straight lines instead of creases and tapering lines like that of the previous model.Read the entire article More stylish and high-tech 2018 Kia Ceed is unveiled, notice the dropped apostrophe
Kia is introducing a five-door version of the pro_cee’d GT -- the cee’d GT. The five-door performance model carries the pro_cee’d GT’s styling and equipment level. It is available in two versions – the cee’d GT (£20,495), and the cee’d GT Tech (£22,995). Both versions are powered by a turbocharged version of Kia’s 1.6-liter direct-injection petrol engine.
The 1.6-litre ‘Gamma’ engine that powers the GT is the first turbocharged petrol unit offered by Kia in the United Kingdom. It boasts of being 51-percent more powerful than the normal Gamma direct-injection engine.
The T-GDi (Turbocharged Gasoline Direct injection) engine provides 201bhp of output and 265Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from zero to 60mph in just 7.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 143mph.Read the entire article Kia launches 5-door performance model in cee’d GT in the UK
Kia revealed that both the cee’d GT and pro_cee’d GT will be officially debuting during the 83rd Salon International de l’Automobile. Specifically, it will be presented on March 5, 2013, at Geneva. The brand also disclosed that making its world premiere will be its very own new and racy urban concept. To be presented as well will be the new Carens and the improved Optima Hybrid.
According to the brand, both the cee’d GT and the pro_cee’d GT will be joining Europe’s most high-profile segment. Kia added that these two models are slated to become the brand’s most performance-focused production models. The two models were designed in Europe through a team led by none other than President and Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer.
As such, both have that sporty and powerful style. They also have the dual-exhaust pipes, daytime running lights which use LED, attractive brake calipers in red, and the alloy 18-inch wheels. In addition, the cee’d GT will be powered by the GDI 1.6-liter turbocharged engine capable of 204 ps with peak torque of 265 Nm. This is the same engine fitted to the pro_cee’d GT. The power is transmitted to the wheels in the front using the manual six-speed transmission and allow the cee’d GT, as well as the pro_cee’d GT, to go from o to 100 km/h in merely 7.7 seconds.Read the entire article 2013 Kia pro_cee’d GT and cee’d GT make their debut prior to Geneva Motor Show
Kia will release a 200bhp Procee’d three-door hatchback next summer. Many will be watching out for Kia’s entry in the hot hatch segment, especially since it applied the same high-performance running gear to a five-door hatchback. Furthermore, it’s believed that Kia will be giving the go-signal to produce a third, estate car variation on the GT-badged theme soon.
The 1.6-litre turbo petrol GT Procee’d and five-door hatchback models feature bespoke body kits, 18-inch alloy wheels and coloured brake callipers. They have had their chassis tuning on the UK roads and are set to be launched next March at the Geneva motor show. The three-door Procee’d will feature stitched leather Recaro seats as well as other signature cabin details to aid in defining Kia’s first overtly performance model.
According to a senior Kia executive, the company decided on using GT after getting into an internal European debate on how this series will be badged. He said that this is because the company has to practise caution about presenting these new Kia performance models and using RS implies that it would be hardcore. He explained, “It’s better to under-promise than to over-hype.”Read the entire article Kia to release Procee’d GT hatches next year
Kia is rolling out to the public the latest addition to its Kia cee’d family of vehicles, the cee’d Sportswagon. The rollout of the Kia cee’d Sportswagon, which is marketed exclusively in the United Kingdom, comes just three months after its eldest sibling, the Kia cee’d hatchback, made its debut in the public. Replacing the former cee’d SW, the cee’d Sportswagon comes with a new name that gives legacy to its predecessor’s success in the fleet and business market in the United Kingdom.
The new Kia cee’d Sportswagon is described as sporty, modern and even more technologically advanced, leading to improved practicality and value. Kia unveiled the cee’d Sportswagon alongside the cee’d hatchback at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.
Like the cee’d SW, the cee’d Sportswagon was designed and engineered at the carmaker’s Frankfurt design studios and technical centre, and was built at the company’s Žilina plant in Slovakia. The cee’d SW has been one of Kia’s best-sellers in the fleet market, and has even outsold the hatchback among business customers.Read the entire article Kia rolls out Cee’d Sportswagon in the UK
Kia is expected to launch a hot hatch version of its new Cee’d 12-18 months after unveiling the three-door version. The three-door version was recently previewed for the first time in a leaked official design sketch. The Kia Cee’d will be powered by the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that runs the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, which was unveiled at the recent Geneva Motor Show.
The Hyundai Veloster Turbo provides 183bhp of output and 199lb ft of torque, but Kia plans to give Cee’d better figures. An insider told Autocar that the engine for Kia Cee’d can deliver remarkable figures across a very wide band if it is tuned accordingly. The insider revealed that people at Kia are currently discussing whether to give the Cee’d around 200bhp with benefits of improved power delivery, or to provide the three-door with a boosted 220bhp figure.
The insider also disclosed that Kia people are still deciding whether to make the Cee’d an impressive-looking top-end vehicle or a dynamic car that offers a unique driving experience. Meanwhile, Kia Cee’d’s sister car, the Hyundai i30, will soon get a hot hatch version. Hyundai’s European boss Allan Rushforth said during the unveiling of the i30 in February that they are considering hot hatch versions that offer dynamic improvement in both riding and handling.Read the entire article Kia to follow up Cee’d three-door version with hot hatch variant
Kia has revealed fresh styling on the interior and exterior of its new Cee'd compact vehicle, which is showcased at the Geneva Motor Show. The new design language shows that the automaker is being differentiated from its sister brand Hyundai -- a similar strategy of Volkswagen Group when it gave a more youthful image to its Spanish brand Seat to set it apart from the core VW brand.
Kia Europe Chief Operating Officer Paul Philpott disclosed during last year's Geneva auto show that Kia is "fun, dynamic and more youthful" while Hyundai is more about comfort and style, "more upmarket."
In the European region, the Cee'd hatchback will be available for sale in the summer. The automaker has disclosed that the vehicle integrates enhanced prestige and maturity in a sporty package. The more aggressive front design should aid the automaker to position the Cee'd as a sportier option to the Hyundai.Read the entire article Kia reveals new styling on latest Cee’d, differentiates itself from Hyundai
Kia is set to launch an all-new cee'd at Geneva this year, repeating its accomplishment six years ago when the all-European cee'd amazed visitors at that year's Geneva Motor Show. The all-new variant has elegant lines, heralding an even more successful future for the automaker's bed-rock C-segment model.
It merges sophisticated, dynamic styling with prestige and maturity. This five-door hatchback is wider, lower and longer than its predecessor, but with the same long wheelbase. Its elegant yet simple coupe-like proportions are highlighted by a very low belt-line in the front, lengthened side windows and a steeply raked A-pillar.
The front of the new cee'd features the recent interpretation of Kia's trademark 'tiger-nose' grille and aggressive, wraparound headlamp clusters housing signature LED daytime running lights. In profile, the distinct back and front wings highlight the vehicle's solid stance and wide track while above, the taut, strongly sculpted door surfaces, sweeping roofline, integral rear spoiler and the steeply raked A-pillar accent the sporting appeal of the new model's generous glasshouse.Read the entire article Kia set to launch all-new Cee’d at 2012 Geneva Motor Show

After its debut, the new Cee’d will be available across Europe from the second quarter of 2012.

At the Geneva Motor Show, Kia's eco version of the Cee'd hatchback certainly attracted a lot of interest. Kia wants this car to be an ambassador for its "EcoDynamics's" fuel-efficient lineup. Kia based this car on the five-door version of the Cee'd. It boasts a CO2 emissions figure of 98 grams per kilometer.
When compared to the current cleanest model in the Cee'd range (with CO2 emissions figure of 110 grams/kilometer), this "green's" version actually represents an 11% reduction in emissions. Powering the EcoDynamics Cee'd is a 1.6-liter diesel unit, generating 90 hp at 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 235 Nm, available from 1,900 to 2,750 rpm.
The car has been given a bespoke ECU remap and it also now features a different fuel injection management. Kia redesigned its alternator and water pump to improve the efficiency. Furthermore, the engine uses a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) that is coupled to a re-engineered gearbox that shows an increased top gear ratio.
