It was August 2018 when Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the V12-powered Lamborghini Aventador SVJ in Pebble Beach, California. A week after, speculations suddenly appeared that a roadster version would be coming after the California Air Resources Board (CARB) issued an executive order that certified four Lamborghini Aventador models: S Coupe, S Roadster, SVJ Coupe, and SVJ Roadster. McLaren has already commenced the production of the McLaren Senna sports car this year. On the other hand, Aston Martin will start building the much-anticipated Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar in 2019. Stefano Domenicali, chief executive of Automobili Lamborghini, has disclosed to Autocar that the Italian sports car maker is seriously considering building an “extreme aero” limited-series production car that would compete against the like of the McLaren Senna and Aston Martin Valkyrie.
According to Domenicali, Lamborghini’s possible new limited-series production car would be “in the vein of Centenario and Veneno,” which are both limited production hypercars that fetched millions of Euros in price. Lamborghini only built 40 examples of the Centenario, of which 20 are coupes and 20 are roadster. Many automakers have been ditching the idea of attending motor shows, probably because they realised that they will reach more people while spending less money on just organising their own events, or by publishing their news on social media. So, are automotive shows dying or evolving? Well, even if Lamborghini will not be joining the 2018 Paris Motor Show this October, just like its parent company Volkswagen, these shows will still continue.
This year is not the first time Lamborghini skipped Paris - a biennial auto show that alternates with Frankfurt. Back in 2016, both Lamborghini and Bentley did not attend the Paris show, as well as Aston Martin, Ford, Volvo, and Rolls-Royce. Lately, automakers have been reassessing the value of auto shows. Exactly one year ago on March 6th, Lamborghini decided to finally reveal the Huracan Performance at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. This year, the automaker decided to get rid of the coupe’s roof for the same event that is held yearly in Switzerland. The Spyder pretty much has everything you would want in the fixed roof model, but only this model can pull off this type of body style, with the open top.
Even with the company’s same Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA), the soft top Spyder has not been hampered in any way. The reason for the ALA is for it to create the sleekest body possible and consequently boost performance. The droptop Huracan also borrowed the coupe’s revised four-wheel drive system, along with an upgraded suspension and the optimized stability control.
Aside from that, Lamborghini’s engineers gave the droptop a lot of forged carbon fiber bits to cut down a total of 35 kilograms (77 pounds) over the standard Huracan Spyder, while also fiddling with its steering. Lamborghini has made it a point for its future vehicles to have the same renowned exhaust note. That is why the automaker has put the focus on hybrids instead of going full throttle on building fully electric vehicles. In an interview between CarAdvice and Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini’s Chief Technical Officer, we learned that the automaker looks at hybrid machines as the answer to carbon dioxide requirements. Not long after Lamborghini unveiled the new Urus super sports utility vehicle, an automotive graphic artist made a rendering of a coupe-styled version of the SUV. It simply re-imagined the Urus four-door as a two-door coupe SUV, and the resulting rendered image is spectacular. Now, the same graphic artist has rendered the new Lamborghini Urus, not as a super SUV, but as double-cab pickup truck.
While it would be very hard to imagine Lamborghini creating a pickup truck, the newest rendering of the Urus as a full-size pickup truck is as equally tantalizing to the eyes as the coupe-style version. After all, both renderings were made by the designer who went by the professional moniker of X-Tomi Design.
In creating his pickup truck rendition of the Urus, X-Tomi employed an image showing the original super SUV in its profile. Upon closer inspection, X-Tomi didn’t touch the design of the Urus from the front end to the A-pillar – everything remains the same at this section. On the whole section starting from the A-pillar to the B-pillar, there aren’t so many design changes, except for the front window now larger on the pickup version. This is because the rearward slope of the slanting roof has been made less steep. In addition to revealing the first images, ARES Design also released new information on its upcoming supercar dubbed as “Project Panther.” The company is aiming for this new model to be a more contemporary version of the De Tomaso Pantera.
De Tomaso Pantera was a mid-engined sports model released between 1971 and 1992. The name comes from the Italian word for “Panther” and was the most popular model of Italy’s De Tomaso company. At least 7,000 units have been released over its 20-year run.

On December 4, Lamborghini is scheduled to release the very much awaited Urus SUV, and a few days after that, an LM002 by the Italian automaker will be put up for auction by RM Sotheby’s at the New York Icons. The automaker says that the model will be sold by almost double the amount of the Urus, at $400,000 to $500,000.
Between 1986 and 1993, Lamborghini only produced 301 units of the LM002 production model, and only 48 of those were specifically made for the United States with the LM/American spec. This particular unit that will be auctioned off is actually one of them. Originally, it came with a price tag of $158,000, and it features a red interior and a black exterior.
Apart from this being a rare model, the LM002 also recently went through a restoration that lasted for five years - the whole package cost $325,000. One of the few things included in the package would be the new Pirelli Scorpion tires that are the same as those on the original SUVs. It had been installed with a modern Alpine stereo with Bluetooth as well. This resulted into an all-new concept car they call the Terzo Millennio, which translates to “Third Millennium” in English. The machine has the design and engineering of a Lamborghini.
