Everybody gets animated when they hear that a second-hand Lamborghini or a Ferrari will be auctioned. But what makes people even more excited is when the car is a limited edition, or better yet, a one-off production ready concept car. In this case, a 2006 Lamborghini Concept S. A lot of you might think that you have seen this car somewhere, and that is because it is a roofless Gallardo. No, it is not a Spyder if that is what you are thinking, because Spyders have a retractable roof and a windshield.
We first witnessed the 2006 Lamborghini Concept S back in 2005 as a design study. This was done to pay homage to the vintage single-seat, open cockpit race cars during the time Lamborghini was better known for its tractors. But unlike others that had individual cockpits for the driver and the passenger, the Concept S added an extra air inlet for the V10 engine. Both the front and the rear had aerodynamic tweaks that would give the car better downforce.
Initially, it did not matter since the concept did not have an engine, but then Lamborghini built an actual example with an engine. One hundred examples of the Concept S were supposed to be build, and these were supposed to be offered to loyal Lamborghini customers. However, when production finally began, they realized that the cost and time were much more than they have expected, so after the first car was completed, production had been cancelled, making this 2006 model the one and only example.Read the entire article One-off 2006 Lamborghini Concept S is up for grabs at RM Sotheby’s auction

Few days ago we told you that the Lamborghini Gallardo successor will be less complicated than the current model but in the meantime we found out something more interesting. Lamborghini is going to launch one more special edition model so if you want to be sure you will have a special Gallardo you should check your bank account.
Although there are no details regarding the new edition, Car and Driver says that the new version might not receive just a new paint job, it should be a special model. Lamborghini launched several special editions of the Gallardo, such as the LP570-4 Blancpain, LP550-2 Hong Kong 20th Anniversary, Singapore Limited, LP560-4 Bicolore, LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale, LP550-2 Valentino Balboni or the LP570-4 Spyder Performante.
The passion that is present in every Lamborghini is owed to three factors which are performance, extemporaneous action, and precision. However, its greatest strength will always be its elegance. A good way then to describe a Lamborghini is that it is a highly efficient athlete and will always be considered as such. Not surprising given that the development of the brand’s design language never stops. This is seen with every new model that the Centro Stile releases. Take for example the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. The design utilizes a minimalist motif but makes it unique through the clean surfaces and the precise lines.Read the entire article Lamborghini to launch a new final edition of the Gallardo
The Lamborghini Gallardo’s successor will have its launch in 2014 but then it will be offered with a more simplified list of variations. It’s notable that the Gallardo comes in numerous model iterations. Lamborghini America COO Michael Lock said that the range of the Gallardo’s successor will be more streamlined, not only because of financial purposes but mostly to make it simple for the customer.
Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options will be available to go along with the coupe and convertible variants. Furthermore, customers can choose a lighter-weight model but not necessarily in a specific configuration.
For instance, it’s likely that there won’t be an all-wheel drive, lighter-weight convertible. Lamborghini also clarified that the Gallardo successor won’t be available with a manual transmission option. Sales of the manual-equipped Gallardos have been low. This is why the successor will only be featured with a dual-clutch gearbox.Read the entire article Lamborghini Gallardo successor will be less “complicated”
