Anyone willing to get a Lamborghini Murcielago for just $16,850?

Remember that Lamborghini Huracan that was being sold for five dollars? Yup, the one that caught a lot of people’s attention. First, because it was so affordable; and second, because it was burned down to ashes and was still up for grabs.

Well, now we have another one with a similar case. But this time, it costs much more. But still affordable, just imagine buying a brand new entry-level Toyota, but you’ll get a Lamborghini Murcielago instead. But you’re probably thinking now that there’s a catch to this price drop.

What’s the first thing that comes into mind when you see an eBay seller whose username is “lamborghinidismantler”? Ok, you’re probably thinking he’s selling bits and pieces, or Lambo car parts. Well, he is selling parts that originate from Sant’Agata Bolognese, but besides that, he is also selling an original frame of a 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Coupe. But if you go and check out the listing, it doesn’t look like it is in its best condition. Yup, the item looks like it has been torched down, though it definitely is in a better condition compared to the $5 Huracan. At least this one has still got its shape.

Lamborghini Murcielago brutally destroyed by Taiwanese authorities [w/video]

What could possibly go wrong if you put the wrong license plate on your prized possession? Well, better keep an eye on the law enforcers. A Lamborghini Murcielago was crushed by the authorities due to improper registration of the owner. This must be really heart-breaking. The fateful event was video recorded as if the owner committed a social crime. Is this what you get for owning a $350,000 Murcielago? Not really. But there is a deeper story behind it and we should learn the lessons well.

The matte black Murcielago was confiscated from the owner who allegedly imported the supercar without proper supporting documents. They could’ve at least sent out a warning. But some countries have strictly implemented their laws and there’s nothing we can do about it. This perhaps is a reminder that no one is above the law. It is unclear if the real owner was the one driving the Murcielago that time.

Other reports claim that the Lamborghini was impounded 3 years ago after it was seen without a valid license plate. The plate number was apparently borrowed from a Ford sedan. It was back in 2013 when the officers called him out and the 3-year legal battle began afterwards. According to reports, the owner works as a pilot at a commercial airline and he even submitted an administrative appeal due to the incident. Sadly, the authorities dismissed his request. Instead of getting fined for the crime, the Taiwanese government have decided to destroy his very expensive supercar.

As the lifecycle of the Murcielago supercar by Lamborghini draws to an end, designers plan to make public a lightened variant that comes with even more potency compared to the Reventon's 641hp (478 kW). Anticipated to put on the legendary 'SV' title, employed for the Diablo previously, the new version will weigh lighter than the stock version by up to 220lb (100kg).

The most current reports from insiders, hint that the car's development may point to a debut as early as in March's Geneva Motor Show. There are no fresh information on the SV with the current time frame, though there is new talks that the vehicle could be named SL (superleggera) rather than SV (super veloce).

The label "superleggera" has been employed on the Gallardo lately, even though the SV tag has also been used in both the Diablo and the Miura beforehand.
