The foreign authorities have seized at least eight million dollars worth of supercars recently. According to reports, the Lamborghini Veneno roadster and the Koenigsegg One:1 held by the government was from the Equatorial Guinea’s Vice President. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue is the Vice President of the oil-rich Equatorial Guinea, who also happens to be the son of Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, an African President and dictator.
How the police authorities seized the exotic supercars has not been disclosed but pictures of the cars lifted by a truck have already surfaced. SwissSupercars, an Instagram account from Switzerland, was able to upload a short video of the incident. We don’t know what’s the real reason behind all these, but the notorious playboy has allegedly used the government funds to maintain his lavish lifestyle.
The Swedish authorities confiscated the Veneno and the Koenigsegg One:1 including a Veyron. There are only 7 Koenigsegg One:1 models and 9 Lamborghini Veneno Roadster supercars in the world. Mangue’s Lamborghini Roadster comes in Avorio & Bianco Isis colour combo, the Koenigsegg in blue carbon fibre finish, while the Bugatti Veyron in bright blue. It was only last year when Mangue’s super exotics arrived in Geneva.Read the entire article Equatorial Guinea’s VP in hot water: Koenigsegg One:1 and Lamborghini Veneno seized in Switzerland
Lamborghini officially unveiled the Veneno Roadster today, after few leaked photos emerged on the web on Friday. If the Veneno Coupe was produced in a very limited edition of just three units, the Veneno Roadster will see a production run of 9 units, each priced at 3.3 million Euros (excl. tax). Under the hood, we find the same 6.5-liter V12 engine used also by the Aventador Coupe and Roadster, developing 750 hp (552 kW).
As a result, the Veneno Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 355 km/h or 220 mph. Power is delivered to the road via the extremely fast-shifting ISR transmission with five modes, permanent all-wheel drive and a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units.
We can’t tell you much about the design as it is the same seen on the coupe version. The only difference: there is no roof, just a strong rollover bar for optimum safety. According to the official press release, the front end of the car acts as a large aerodynamic wing. The adjustable rear wing ensures optimum airflow and interacts with the rear air diffuser.Read the entire article Official: Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is absolutely insane
If the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster was just a rumor yesterday, today it became official as CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed the new car in an interview with Car and Driver. The Lamborghini Veneno Coupe will see a limited production of just three units, but the Italian manufacturer is planning to triple that number and build 9 Veneno Roadsters.
Each roadster will cost $3.3 million, 10 percent more than the coupe version. Just like the coupe, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster will be powered by the same 6.5-liter V12 engine developing 750 hp. The new car is expected to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph or 350 km/h.
The engine is bolted to the fast-shifting 7-speed ISR transmission with 5 driving modes and permanent all-wheel drive. Regarding the design, we don’t expect a radical change, just a removable carbon-fiber roof, just like the one seen on the Aventador Roadster.Read the entire article Lamborghini Veneno Roadster confirmed by CEO Stephan Winkelmann

For those who don’t know, the Lamborghini Veneno is powered by the same 6.5-liter V12 engine found on the Aventador and capable to deliver 750 hp.
With these numbers, the Veneno is able to zoom from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 355 km/h or 220 mph.
