Hyundai revealed that it is offering customers more options to drive the Ioniq EV. Back in November, the brand revealed that it was offering a subscription plan and now it has disclosed just how much this will cost.
The lowest appears to be a monthly fee of $275 plus tax for a total of 36 months. However, it does require you to put in a down payment amounting to $2,500. But if you happen to buy the Ioniq EV in California, the state offers a rebate totaling $2,500. This makes sense considering that Hyundai will only be making this subscription plan available in California. Take note though that it will not cover the entire state as for now it will only include three counties: Riverside, Orange, and Los Angeles. The brand did say that later this year this subscription will be offered in San Diego and Northern California.
There will be three trims offered. The base model is the Electric trim. The other two are Limited, which costs $305 plus tax, and the Limited with the Ultimate Package, offered at $365 plus tax. Assuming that all trims will have the “zero-money” down initiation fee plus the fact that customers will be required to get a three-year subscription, this means that Electric trim can go as high as $9,900. Back in January of this year, Chevrolet revealed the details of the Bolt electric vehicle. At around this time, the brand also disclosed that the Bolt would come with a $30,000 base price, after considering the federal tax credit of $7,500. Thus, for an electric vehicle that delivers a range of at least 200 miles, this price can be seen as affordable. However, there remains to be interested customers that will either not have the $30,000 easily on hand, hesitant to spend such amount even if they have it, or will not spend it in payments.
That’s why Chevrolet has come up with a program that will allow customers the chance to drive such a vehicle. According to Electrek, GM Financial has started a leasing program specifically for the Bolt with no cash down and a minimum amount of $309 per month after incentives.
That said, it is obvious that should a customer opt to lease a Bolt instead of purchase one, that same customer will not be able to take advantage of the federal tax credit. What General Motors will do is to pass this to the customer resulting in a lower monthly payment. Toyota Motor Corp. is so confident in a future for fuel-cell vehicles that it plans to start selling its Mirai fuel-cell sedan in late next year. Mirai, which means “future” in Japanese, expresses Toyota’s confidence that hydrogen would be accepted by consumers in the United States as a clean fuel alternative in the next five years.
Toyota is planning to sell nearly 200 Mirai sedans when commences sale in California in late 2015 and 3,000 units by the end of 2017, with the increase in number coming from expanded marketing in Northeast US. Toyota Chairman Takeshi Uchiyamada said the Toyota targets around 700 sales of the Mirai globally in 2015 and “tens of thousands by 2020.”
Toyota plans to offer lease terms similar to Hyundai’s -- payments of $499 over 36 months, with an initial payment of $3,649 at signing. More than a year after introducing the widely acclaimed ATS GT prototype at the at the luxurious Salon Privé exhibit, Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) has finally presented the final and production version of the supercar – the new ATS GT Launch Edition -- at the prestigious 2018 Monterey Car Week at The Quail.
The ATS GT Launch Edition takes inspiration from the 1964 ATS 2500 GT, a small coupe designed by Franco Scaglione, developed by ATS co-founders Giotto Bizzarrini and Carlo Chiti, and built more than 50 years ago. Back then, ATS only built 12 examples of the 2500 GT. As it seeks to honor the original model, ATS is also building 12 examples of the new GT Launch Edition.
Designed by ATS chief designer Emanuele Bomboi, the new ATS GT Launch Edition boasts of an aerodynamic bodywork -- made of carbon fiber – that reinterprets the original design of the 2500 GT. It features unique side-blades and seemingly floating rear lights. These rear lights are designed to extract the hot air from the engine bay. The only hybrids that automotive customers can get now from Porsche are its Panamera four-door saloon and its Cayenne sports utility vehicle. While the German sports car maker has confirmed that it would build a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 sports car, that won't happen in the near term. For those who can’t wait for Porsche to offer a 911 hybrid, Vonnen Performance is offering to convert your sports car into one.
Porsche’s main reason for not offering a hybrid version of the 911 is that the German company still doesn’t believe that the current battery technology is on par with its expectations for its venerated sports car. But with the rapid pace that the battery technology is growing, that could happen in the next few years. Porsche chief executive Oliver Blume had said that a 911 hybrid may arrive on the mid-cycle refresh of the 992 generation, which should happen by around 2022 or so.
Because Porsche won't do a 911 hybrid now, Vonnen Performance is offering to do so for 911 models built between 2012 and 2016. This also applies for other Porsche offerings currently not having a hybrid version, like the Boxster and the Cayman. Both the AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ coupe, the all-new AMG GT 43 4MATIC+ are powered by a dynamic core: a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine with EQ Boost that serves as a starter and an alternator. Nonetheless, the six-cylinder in-line engine sitting under the hood of the entry-level AMG GT 43 4MATIC+ is less powerful than the mill in the AMG GT 53 4MATIC+.
The 3.0-liter 6-cylinder in-line engine serving the AMG GT 43 4MATIC+ is tuned to deliver up to 270 kW (367 hp) of output and up to 500 Nm of torque available between 1,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm. When the seventh-generation 2019 Lexus ES was unveiled in China in April, the all-new premium sedan managed to draw attention from customers around the world. Acura is rolling out this month the latest iteration of its mid-size three-row luxury sports utility vehicle – the 2019 Acura MDX. The sixth installment of Acura’s third-generation luxury SUV, the 2019 MDX boasts of enhancements in drivability and interior fitment as well as availability of new premium exterior colors and an A-Spec sport appearance package.
For the 2019 model year, the Acura MDX is still powered by a 3.5-liter i-VTEC V6 engine that delivers 290 hp of max output and 267 lb.-ft. of peak torque. As standard, the MDX comes as a front-wheel drive unit, although it could also be availed in SH-AWD (Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive) configuration. The 2018 Fiat 500 has arrived. The latest model will be getting a slight price hike. Of course, this comes with an updated look, some added tech, and a new turbocharged engine. The petite hatchback first made an appearance at the Chicago Auto Show, and this will go on sale later in the year. It will come with a new price tag of $16,245, which is $1,250 more than its price the year before.
The $16,245 MSRP is for the most affordable Pop trim, which comes with a manual (the automatic option with an extra $995). For the sake of comparison, the 2017 Fiat 500 Pop started at just $14,995. The Fiat 500 not only gets an increased range, but the entry level pricing has gone up as well. Also, there is a more expensive destination charge, now at $1,245.

Slowly, bits and pieces about the much anticipated 2019 Supra have come out. Gerald Killmann, Vice President of Research & Development recently spoke about the much awaited revival of the sports car during his interview with AutoRAI, covering a number of topics about the Supra. One thing they learned is that the new Toyota Supra has been developed mostly in Japan, and that Toyota’s European R&D team had a minor contribution. He then said that the Supra will be sharing the same platform as the BMW Z4, though with a different interior and exterior design. Audi opened the order books for the Audi R8 V10 RWS ((Rear Wheel Series) in fall 2017 in Europe, with the model already arriving in dealership earlier this year. At the time it was unveiled, it was still unsure whether Audi is bring the new R8 V10 RWS to the United States. Now, the premium carmaker is indeed bringing the R8 V10 RWS, at a hefty starting price of $139,950 each, Motor Trend says citing its own source.
At this pricing, the Audi R8 V10 RWS – the carmaker’s first-ever production and street-legal rear-wheel-drive R8 model – is around $26,000 cheaper than the Quattro model. However, those who are interested in acquiring this edition of the R8 should remain always alert as to when it would arrive in the US, because only 320 examples are allocated for this market. While Audi didn’t give an official date for the arrival of the R8 V10 RWS in the US, it is expected that this would occur in the last quarter of the year.
The German carmaker only needed to get rid of the Quattro all-wheel-drive system to pave way to the RWD layout, thereby giving birth to the R8 V10 RWS. However, its powerful naturally aspirated V10 remains the same. We are all aware that the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta will hit dealerships by the end of this year. But that is not the only thing that we are excited about as it will also be cheaper than its predecessor. The company just announced that the MQB based sedan will have a price tag of $18,545 when it goes on sale later this year - excluding handling and destination. This still makes it $100 less than the outgoing model which starts at $18,645.
The VW Jetta comes in a number of different trims, and the most standard one will be the S trim that is equipped with a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine that makes 147 horsepower (109 kilowatts) and 184 pound feet (249 Newton metres) of torque. It seems like the Hyundai Tucson will be expanding its range because the automaker is said to give the SUV a new Sport trim that will be equipped with a 2.4 liter four cylinder with 181 horsepower (135 kilowatts) and 175 pound feet (237 Newton metres) of torque that starts at 4,000 rpm, together with a six speed automatic. This powertrain will be available in either a front wheel- or an all wheel-drive layout.
