It has been nearly eight years since Toyota entered a new era of sports cars when it officially unveiled the production version of the Toyota 86 – also known as Toyota FT86 or Toyota GT86 – at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. The Toyota 86 was regarded as a knight in shining armor as it arrived in the market.
There has been a rumor that the Japanese carmaker is planning to follow up the current generation of Toyota 86 – already old as of present – with an all-new model. But the arrival of the Supra means that Toyota won't bother itself with next-gen 86, at least not in the new few years or until 2021. But as to make the car remain relevant, the carmaker is offering a special edition of the sports coupe – the Toyota 86 GT British Green Limited.
The recent big reveal of the open-secret Toyota Supra remains a source of discussion among automotive fans and enthusiasts, especially those of Toyota’s. For these people, the launch of the next-generation Supra was like the arrival of the Messiah. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean the Toyota 86 would fail to impress, especially if a special edition donning an exclusive suit is currently at offer.Read the entire article Toyota 86 GT British Green Limited is a Japan-only special edition
Just a few days after Toyota released the 86 860 Special Edition (in the US) that didn’t quite live up to the crowd’s expectations, the company again introduced another “limited edition” car. I hope this one will be more of a crowd pleaser.
Now, let us talk about the GT86 Tiger and see what makes this one special. First off, the company mentioned that they will only be producing 30 cars in total, and will be exclusively sold in Germany. If you’re a serious car collector, you will want to get your hands on this extremely rare model. But first, let us tell you what you will be getting.
The exterior of the car can easily be spotted without a doubt. If being seen is your goal, this is for you. The car represents a fierce Bengal tiger - as it will come in a bold “Tiger Orange” paint with black stripes and some more black accents on the pillars, side mirror caps, and the rear wing, giving it a nice contrast with the bright orange base. Completing the overall look with a set of anthracite 17-inch alloy wheels, with Sachs sports dampers. The wheels are the only upgrade this limited model has over the standard one.Read the entire article Meet Toyota's super-limited GT86 Tiger
Since the Toyota GT86 was launched last year, it has restored Toyota’s image for making cars that are about the pleasure of driving. The sports coupe, which is on the shortlist for both the European and World Car of the Year awards, raises its appeal with the launch of the new GT86 TRD. Only 250 units will be built.
These will come with genuine design and performance features from TRD (Toyota Racing Development), which is among the most skilful and highly acclaimed market engineering businesses in the world.
GT86 is the first Toyota model in the UK for which official TRD parts have been used to build a particular production model grade. The GT86 TRD, which starts selling on March 1, will make a new halo model for the 2+2 coupe range. Six-speed manual and automatic versions will be both available.Read the entire article Toyota launches limited edition GT86 TRD in the UK
They easily look like the modern reincarnationa of the 1948 Ferrari 166 MM, the Ferrari 750 Monza and the Ferrari 860 Monza. After all, the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 that were recently introduced by Ferrari take inspirations from legendary Ferrari Sports cars of the past in terms of both design and engineering.
The new Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 are the first models in a new concept of limited-edition special series dubbed as ‘Icona,’ as inspired by the carmaker’s iconic and legendary cars. The Monza SP1 and SP2 essentially blend the evocative design of Ferrari cars in the 1950s and the most advanced technology found in modern sports cars. The 1948 Ferrari 166 MM, the Ferrari 750 Monza and 860 Monza were credited for creating Ferrari’s legend in the 1950s through unprecedented wins in the World Sports Car Championship.
In terms of looks, the Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 are essentially twins. However, the Monza SP1 is single-seat road car that can only accommodate the driver on the right side. On the other hand, the Monza SP2 is a two-seater that allows the driver to bring along a front passenger to the ride. In the Monza SP2, the tonneau cover has been removed, while a second protective screen and a second roll-bar are added. The front passenger sits in a cockpit that replicates that of the driver, sans the steering wheel and a number of controls.Read the entire article Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 are limited edition models inspired by iconic 1950s sports cars
If you do get a chance to get your hands on the Range Rover SV Coupe, we would suggest for you to get one because this will remain limited and is likely not going make it into full production.
Earlier this month during the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the SV Coupe was revealed as a limited edition model, and also the most expensive Range Rover with a price tag of $295,995. But recently, we learned that Land Rover has no plans to make production go beyond the 999 units that had been set.
Wayne Darley, senior product marketing manager, stated that to keep the model exclusive, then the best thing they could do is to limit production of the model. By doing so, you are protecting the exclusivity of the model and therefore, these investments are secured. This began with the Project 7 that was inspired by the 250 run Jaguar F-Type which got its roots from the 1950s D Type. That car was once sold for £130,000 (or $183,800), and is now available for over £200,000 (approximately $282,700).Read the entire article Range Rover SV Coupe will remain as a limited model
Not a lot may have heard of Lee Iacocca, but we are pretty sure that you all know of his creation - and that would be none other than the Ford Mustang. Iacocca was the former Ford executive that turned the former concept into a reality. Not only did he turn the Mustang into production, but he also groomed it into the icon that we know it today.
To celebrate this, Ford and Galpin decided to come up with a special Mustang to celebrate the nameplate’s 45th anniversary. They named the unique version the Iacocca Silver Edition Mustang, and guess what? It will be sold off this April.
The rear wheel drive sports car will be put up for auction at the Barrett Jackson Palm Beach 2018 sale. It will be a rare treat for collectors as this is one of only 45 examples ever built and it comes with a number of unique design and performance elements to boot. This includes a special plaque in the engine bay to signify its rarity.Read the entire article Limited edition Ford Mustang Iacocca is up for grabs at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach 2018 sale
Lotus has been developing a new generation of sports cars, but these cars will probably not be available until 2020. So for customers who don’t want to wait too long, the automaker decided that they will sell one last special version of the immortal 3-Eleven 430, or the “most extreme machine” it has ever built.
This will also be highly exclusive as they only have plans of assembling 20 examples, each one carrying a price of £102,000 or approximately $142,000 at current exchange rates.
This 3-Eleven 430 has been equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 engine under its hood, producing as much as 430 horsepower (321 kilowatts) and 324 pound feet (440 Newton metres) of torque. The automaker boasts that in just 3.2 seconds, this model can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour), before it continues to its top speed of 180 miles per hour (290 kilometers per hour).Read the entire article Lotus launches fastest, most extreme machine yet – the 3-Eleven 430
Congested city traffic is a stark contrast to the freedom of marine navigation. But for those who want to experience lavishness in a small urban mobility package like the smart fortwo cabrio, German tuning company Brabus and luxury yacht-maker Sunseeker London Group has an enticing proposition – the new Brabus Smart ForTwo Ultimate Sunseeker Limited Edition “One of Ten.”

It was back in October 2015 when we first saw the Performance version. It served as the ultimate expression of the RS6 Avant that produced as much as 597 horsepower (445 kilowatts) that it got from its biturbo 4.0 liter V8. Now, it is 2018 and there is a new king, thanks to the collaboration between Audi and ABT Sportsline - the Nogaro Edition. There are only 150 examples of this special edition high performance wagon by Ingolstadt.
This special edition model pays tribute to the iconic RS2 model, which was launched in 1994. It is actually considered as the automaker’s first ever RS model. Now, the RS6 Avant Nogaro Edition is finished in Nogaro blue paint (and that is actually where it got its name). To give the body a little bit of a contrast, it also gets some black accents all over its body.
This is finished off with a new set of 21 inch wheels with thick 285/30 tires and of course, we can’t forget the RS titanium exhaust system it has been equipped with to make the most out of the V8 powerhouse.Read the entire article 2018 Audi RS6 Avant Performance Nogaro Edition has impressive specs
The McLaren F1 is considered to be one of the most difficult models to get your hands on and it’s even more elusive now especially since its prices have gone up in excess of $10 million when being auctioned.
So instead of letting customers cry over the F1, McLaren Newport Beach decided that they would work with their special division, McLaren Special Operations to give 10 of their customers the next best thing: custom MSO X examples of the 570S Coupe with exterior inspiration from the competition livery of an F1 GTR race car.
When looking at the MSO X 570S from the outside, it is apparent that the model gets inspiration from the 570S GT4 race car, except that they are road legal. The sides of the bumpers now get dive plates, while the competition inspired hood features additional intakes.Read the entire article McLaren Special Operations unveils MSO X: 10 road-legal 570S Coupes inspired by GT4
There are so many aftermarket tuners out there that have been turning out pretty amazing Land Rover Defenders. It’s their popularity perhaps that has urged the automaker itself to join the throng. In fact, Jaguar Land Rover’s Classic division has built 150 old-style Defenders right in the outskirts of Coventry.
The special edition Defender was made to celebrate 70 years of the iconic off-roader in 2018, before an all new version of the vehicle makes its debut. It’s said to look very different from the current version.
Under the hood of the Defender Works V8 is a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8. This carries out as much as 405 horsepower and 515 Newton-metres (380 pound-feet) of torque. This makes it the most powerful officially sanctioned Defender to hit the road. In just 5.6 seconds, it will reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) from a standstill, and is capable of hitting a maximum limited top speed of 106 miles per hour (170 kilometers per hour).Read the entire article Check out this 70th anniversary limited edition V8 Land Rover Defender
In Europe, Toyota’s rear-wheel drive purist sports car is called the Toyota GT86, while in North America, this vehicle is offered as the Toyota 86. Now, here is good news for Toyota’s North America customers wanting to get behind the wheel of the 2018 Toyota 86 – the Japanese carmaker is bringing the GT designation to the latest iteration of its sports car in the guise of a new trim level.
When the Toyota 86 was first offered in North America, it lacked a number of equipment and features, especially those that enhanced comfort. This could be because Toyota created the 86 as a purist sports car that offers simple and affordable motoring fun. The same is true for the identical twin of the 86 that is branded as Subaru with a BRZ badge.
However, the Subaru BRZ is available with a number of features not offered on the Toyota 86. The range-topping Limited trim for the Subaru BRZ offers push-button start, heated leather seats and dual-zone climate control, as well as a number of extra elements. Actually, these elements were already featured in the Toyota 86, but only on the Toyota 86 860 Special Edition.Read the entire article 2018 Toyota 86 GT debuts in the US, price starts at $30,000 for AT
It’s Star Wars fever once again, and the second installation of the trilogy sequel -- “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” -- is finally hitting theaters. Avid fans of the franchise would love to know that a limited edition Renault Zoe will soon arrive with Star Wars special touches. In partnership with Star Wars, Renault is unleashing the force with the new 2018 Renault Zoe Star Wars Limited Edition electric vehicle.
Just like Anakin Skywalker and Ben Solo becoming Darth Vader and Kylo Ren, respectively, the best-selling EV in Europe has transformed into the Renault Zoe Star Wars special edition. Interestingly, the Zoe Star Wars isn't the first vehicle from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance to use the force. Just last year, Nissan’s mid-size crossover merged into the world of the Jedi by becoming the Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars limited edition. That marked the first time that a carmaker officially partnered with the Star Wars franchise. The partnership now continues, but with Nissan’s alliance partner Renault.
To enter the world of the Jedi, the Renault Zoe Star Wars features an exterior covered with a number of decals related to the franchise. For instance, the bonnet, roof and boot of the Renault Zoe Star Wars sport decals starring Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon star ship. Specific Star Wars badging can be found on the front fenders just below the A-pillar, as well as on the door sills.Read the entire article Renault now accepts pre-orders for Zoe Star Wars Limited Edition
After having recently released teaser images of the new McLaren Senna, the automaker is finally ready to make a proper unveiling. The Senna, which is part of the Ultimate Series, gets its name from legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna de Silva. It will stand as the automaker’s most track-focused, road legal car. The automaker plans to build only 500 examples of this model, with profits going to the Senna Foundation charity. The Senna has a price tag of £750,000 ($1 million), in the UK, and believe it or not, all 500 units have already been accounted for.
Undoubtedly, the Senna has a unique exterior design. It was made to be very sleek to boost its performance. This model follows the “form follows function” principle, and its shape is meant to reduce drag and boost cooling. This car spent hours in the wind tunnel, a fact that’s quite obvious as soon as you take note of its double rear diffuser to the underfloor scoop and the large rear wing.
The Senna has interesting see-through glass door panels. Furthermore, the carbon ceramic brakes it wears together with the Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires took seven months to assemble. The interior has a minimalist design that boasts a generous amount of carbon fiber. The cabin features goodies like an infotainment system, rearview camera, a foldable driver’s display, and a sound system. Each car will come with tailor-made carbon seats too.Read the entire article 2018 McLaren Senna gets official
For those of you who are aware of Spyker, you must have heard of the C8 Aileron. The said model has been around for about eight years now and the Dutch automaker has finally decided to give an end to its life. And to give it a proper goodbye, Spyker will produce the final three examples in the racing inspired LM85 spec, together with matching motorsport-inspired liveries.
To achieve this look, the automaker will make use of exposed rivets to attach the LM85’s body panels to the C8 Aileron. It will be given wider fenders as well. The billet aluminum intakes give the exterior a bright flourish. And since the automaker is only going to build three examples of the vehicle, each one of them will be getting a unique paint job.
One of them will be finished in a Jet Black finish with Crimson Red S accents that decorate the body, while the other one is a reverse of the first one, getting a Crimson Red with Jet Black S accents. The third model will be dressed in Jet Black with a Gold S. All three examples will be getting a two-tone leather inside, paired with an aluminum dashboard, accented with Chronoswiss gauges.Read the entire article Spyker ends reign of the C8 Aileron with final 3 units in LM85 specs/liveries
Lamborghini recently introduced the Aventador S Roadster just over a month ago at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. And already, the V12 powered convertible is going to receive a special edition treatment. The 400 GT model was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the raging bulls, and it will only be limited to five cars. Each one of the Japan edition models will be one-offs since the Ad Personam department and the Cento Stile both gave them unique looks that take inspiration from the five natural elements of Japanese culture: earth, wind, fire, water and sky.
The one you can see in the photos, from its official unveiling in Japan, is the “water” edition. On the same day, the Italian marque also came up with the second edition of the Lamborghini Day Concours d’Elegance Tokyo. In this event, Lamborghini displayed a total of 50 cars. A few of the notable models included here are the gorgeous Miura, the Diablo and Countach. Alongside these were vehicles like the restored Miura SV and a 1976 Countach LP. And guess who won the “Best of Show” award? Well, it was the Countach LP. During the event, the automaker also presented scale models of the other four cars based on the remaining elements that will soon be produced.
Let us not veer away from talking about the gorgeous Aventador S Roadster. The exterior livery was finished by a team of ten specialists by around 170 hours. The paint turns out with a nice finish that contrasts with the exposed carbon fiber that is used for the hardtop and the windscreen frame. There is also a ‘50 Japan’ badge near the vehicle’s rear fender.Read the entire article Special edition Japan-exclusive Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster 50th Anniversary unveiled
For those of you who just placed an order for a new BMW M5 (F90), you might like to pair it with a matching bicycle. The BMW M Bike Limited Carbon Edition is finished in Marina Bay Blue Metallic paint, exactly like that of the sports sedan.
However, if you want this bike, you have to act quickly. That is because it will be limited to 500 units only, each of which will be priced at 1,400 euros (around $1,674). The bicycles are made with hydro-formed aluminum frame, while the fork, the seat posts and spacers are all made of carbon fiber to reduce overall weight. For easier braking, it gets a set of hydraulic Shimano disk brakes.
As we all know, the BMW M5 comes equipped with a 4.4 liter biturbo engine that enables it to give out 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) and 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-metres) of torque. The M5 is more powerful than its predecessor, which has an output of 575 horsepower (428 kilowatts) and 500 pound-feet (677 Newton meters) of torque.Read the entire article BMW reveals M Bike Limited Carbon Edition inspired by Marina Bay Blue M5 (F90)
In an exclusive speaking engagement with Car Advice during the ongoing 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, Lamborghini’s Maurizio Reggiani hints at introducing what he calls as the new version of a one-off supercar, even adding that this one-off could be completely sold prior to its revelation. This is comparable to the case of Centenario, which they had introduced with rear wheel steering and which was later on adapted into the Aventador S when it came into production. The director for research and development also said that the company is set to announce some new technologies to go with Lamborghini’s new design. The imminent announcement, he said, is what Lamborghini’s loyal patrons have actually been waiting for.
It can be recalled that Lamborghini had done this previously with the Sesto Elemento, the Veneno Roadster, the Concept J as well as for both the Reventon and the Reventon Roadster. As they did with the Centenario, the soon-to-be-revealed one-off will take the lead in introducing Lamborghini’s future design and technologies. Inevitably, it should give us a first look at the Aventador replacement that is due for release in 3 years.
No concrete details have been confirmed during the talks but Car Advice knew that the Lamborghini Urus will be revealed sometime this December. In the same way, it is likely the new one-off (which is currently without a name yet) will be introduced later within the year while the official public debut will probably have to wait until 2018. At the most, we should be expecting Lamborghini’s one-off supercar at next year’s Geneva Motor Show together with the new Urus.Read the entire article Lamborghini to introduce new limited-edition supercar, new techs coming very soon
Donkervoort, the Dutch sports car manufacturer, is making the most of a limited run of the sold out D8 GTO RS, at only 40 units. But this time, an even rarer model will be made with only 15 examples - that is the Naked Edition of the said model. As of today, the company has already sent out 20 units of the standard model to their respective owners, as well as the very first example of the Naked Edition D8 GTO RS. It was delivered to its new owner located somewhere in Germany.
Naturally, the Naked Edition will stand out due to its eccentric design, but even more so with its striking Monte Carlo Blue Carbon finish. The carbon fiber body was then given a transparent paint that was developed by both Donkervoort and BASF’s upscale brand R-M. What makes this finish so cool is that you could still see the carbon fiber through it. Ninety-five percent of the bodywork is made out of the lightweight material, including the roll-bar trim, the headlight housing and the ignition cylinder housing.
To cut down some more weight, Donkervoort used some spray on carbon components on some areas instead of painting them, which really helped with the diet. By doing all this, one would expect the D8 GTO RS to be extremely light, and true enough, the special edition only weighs a total of 695 kilograms (1,532 pounds) - that is quite an impressive weight for a sports car.Read the entire article First Donkervoort Naked Edition D8 GTO RS has been delivered
If you are a fan of matte-finished cars, you are going to love these new Toyotas. For years now, tuning companies have offered the matte look to their clients - and you would see the most common cars, to the rarest ones with this finish. This trend began when BMW offered the Frozen Black M3 to its customers back in 2013. Many other automakers then followed, and now, Toyota is on it too.
As you could see in the photos, the new C-HR and GT86 sports car both got their own matte finishes. Toyota Europe now offers the “Style Selection” option for the C-HR where customers could choose from four exclusive shades including: Metalstream Gray Metallic, Titanium Blue Metallic, Nova White Metallic, and Marlingrau Metallic. For an extra $2,122 (€1,850), customers can get these shades with two unique matte finishes.
Another option customers could add on top of the package would be contrasting onyx black lacquered A and C pillars, side mirrors, roof, and rear spoiler. All these for an extra $160 (€140).Read the entire article European customers can now get their Toyota C-HR and GT86 in matte finishes
