Lorinser, the tuning arm of the German carmaker Mercedes-Benz, has announced that it has brought back the 450 SEL 6.9. The super sedan, launched in 1975, was based on the W116 model series. Back then, it was the range-topper as it was said to exemplify luxury, fame and power.
Its 6.9-liter V8 engine was borrowed from the State 600 limousine. Maximum torque was rated at 550Nm while its peak power was 286hp (210kW). Lorinser installed wide square plastic aprons in place of the old slim chrome bumpers. In the rear, the same was done.
