The latest Evora by Lotus has added another award to its already burgeoning number of trophies, this time for iMotor Magazine's "Overall Winner - Most Rated Car of 2008."

Lotus Evora takes the ‘Performance Car of the Year 2009’ award

The Lotus Evora beat 29 other cars to be named as Performance Car of the Year 2009 by Car Magazine. It faced intense competition from very popular marques such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche.

A champion from Le Mans Series, Darren Turner, put the car through test drive on different roads in Britain. Objective testing was conducted at the Rockingham Motor Speedway, where the cars displayed their maximum performance qualities.

Lotus Evora is a mid-engined 2+2 seater sports coupe. A 3.5-liter V6 powers the car, developing 280ps and 342Nm of torque. With a car weight of only 1382kg, the Evora delivers an astonishing performance and what Turner claims is a unique experience behind the steering wheel.

Evora GT430 Sport is now the lightest and fastest Lotus high-performance sports car

The latest iteration of the Lotus Evora – the Evora GT430 – has been described by the carmaker as its most potent road-going model so far. It is the lightest and most powerful Evora. But Evora is introducing a version of the Evora GT430 that is as powerful, but is lighter and faster. Welcome the new Lotus Evora GT430 Sport, which is available to order now.

Still powering the new Lotus Evora GT430 Sport is a 3.5-liter supercharged and charge-cooled V6 engine that is tuned to provide 430 hp (436 PS) of max output at 7,000 rpm as well as 440 Nm (325 lb.-ft.) of peak torque available at 4,500 rpm. This allows the new Lotus Evora GT430 Sport to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, as quick as the new Lotus Evora GT430.

The V6 engine sends power to the wheels of the Evora GT430 Sport through a six-speed manual transmission with a low-inertia, single-mass flywheel or – starting January 2018 – a six-speed automatic transmission that employs an optimized gearbox ECU for ultra-fast changes and lightweight aluminum paddles mounted to the steering wheel. The six-speed automatic gearbox will also be offered on the Evora GT430 starting January 2018.

Lotus launches most powerful and lightest Evora so far - the GT430

The Lotus Evora Sport 410 astonished the world after arriving as the more powerful and lighter edition of the already impressive Evora 400. Now, Lotus Cars is throwing in another amazing version of the Evora that is more powerful and ever lighter than the Sport 410 – the new Lotus Evora GT430.

Lotus described its latest creation as it most potent road-going model ever. The carmaker also called the Evora GT430 as a beautiful and pure combination of elegance and power. Of course, the secret to this is not just the distinctive design and unique body work of the new Evora GT430. Aside from employing a more powerful development of its 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine, Lotus has made full advantage of its prowess and expertise in the field of lightweight engineering. Moreover, the carmaker made sure that the new Evora GT430 comes with advanced aerodynamics, providing the vehicle with a lot of downforce to match its superior firepower.

Installed at the core of the new Evora GT430 is a 3.5-liter supercharged and charge-cooled V6 engine that is also found in the Evora Sport 410. However, this mill is now tuned to deliver more output to 430 hp (436 PS) at 7,000 rpm as well as more torque 440 Nm (325 lbft) available at 4,500 rpm. Lotus was able to squeeze more torque from the engine by employing an air-to-liquid gearbox cooler. Interestingly, the new Evora GT430 comes with a titanium exhaust, which is around 10 kg lighter than in the Evora Sport 410. The V6 engine sends power to the wheels of the Evora GT430 through a standard six-speed manual transmission with a low-inertia, single-mass flywheel. The new Evora GT430 also employs a Torsen-type limited slip differential (LSD) for better traction and faster exit speeds during cornering.

From 1972 to 1986, Team Lotus’ Formula One cars were wrapped in its now famous black and gold livery. Now, Lotus is honoring this iconic livery and the race cars that wore it by making it available with the latest version of its United States-bound sports car.

Dubbed as the Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition, this exclusive version of the Lotus Evora Sport 410 celebrates the successful return of Lotus to North America. This 2017, the committee noticed Bugatti’s “efficient design”, “details” and “quality of workmanship” to be very convincing ---despite having only one vehicle for the entire duration of the two-week event. It also indicates how the rather small-sized show area proved to be so much more impressive for the jurors than those which had a bigger floor area for their exhibit.

For the past fourteen years, the Club de publicité et de communication de Genève has been giving out the same award in Switzerland’s yearly car event. The jurors consist of communications and publicity specialists who are members of the CPG committee.

Bugatti’s show stand stood out at the exhibit hall for its unique design. In this case, the stand consists of a curved roof that looks highly “convincing”. The judges had noticed it primarily for its arrangement-- wherein the curves were positioned exactly where the beaming light shines towards the show model. Aside from the curved structure, Bugatti’s creativity in turning a small area into one spectacular edifice not just won the judges’ approval but also appealed to the hearts of the many audiences who attended the 87th Geneva Motor Show.

After making its debut at the Paris Motor Show last year as a concept car, the Trezor by Renault managed to bring home the 2016 Concept Car Design Of The Year award. Winning against other great concepts such as the Mercedes-Maybach 6 Concept, Volkswagen’s ID concept, and the Citroen CXperience concept. The all electric coupe presented an overall futuristic design with an impressive automated one-piece clamshell roof.

The Renault Trezor must offer something incredible as it has won over the approval of no less than twenty renowned car designers who stood as the panel of judges. Some of the judges were Peter Schreyer of Hyundai-Kia, Gordon Wagener of Daimler, Ralph Gilles of FCA and Mamoru Aoki of Nissan. They were also joined by the Nio and Lynk & Co design directors. Each of them had to choose their top three favourites amongst 12 concept cars that were shortlisted by the staff of Car Design News. And the decision was made after totaling all the votes. The award was given out to Anthony Lo, the Vice President of Exterior Design, along with Stephane Janin, Concept Car Director, at the fairly recent 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

Showcasing itself with its diamond logo and a muscular body, with voluptuous front and rear fenders, the Trezor isn’t just about how it looks. At 4.7 meters long, and with a 2.7 meter wheelbase, its entire body is made out of carbon fiber, keeping it lightweight. Its shape was well thought of - as a result of extensive aerodynamic tweaks to minimize drag to only 0.22, for a much improved performance and efficiency. Combined with a power output of 350 horsepower and 280 pound-feet torque. It can definitely fire up to 62 miles per hour (100 kph) in four seconds flat. And as you can see in the debut video, the car glides very smoothly against the ground at a very fast rate. So smooth, it almost looks like it is floating off the ground.

And the best car brand for this year goes again to Audi! If there’s anything we can count on to tell us which among the automotive brands makes the best cars, it’s Consumer Reports. For two years in a row, Audi claimed the highest spot in the annual ranking of car brands. Audi is trailed closely by Porsche, BMW and Lexus. Audi has the highest overall score of 81 against Porsche with 78 and both BMW and Lexus getting 77.

The fifth spot went to Subaru with the score of 74 while the remaining six out of ten spots went to Kia Mazda, Tesla and Buick. Luckily for Porsche and BMW, the two were able to show significant improvement in their ratings as compared to last year. The overall scores are basically a combination of several factors such as safety, predicted reliability, road tests and owner satisfaction rating. So while Audi got the highest total score in the overall ranking, Porsche got a higher score in the road test with 88 points while both Audi and BMW got 86 in the same category.

The top five car brands from last year are actually the same group this year. Only the rankings changed. Subaru has lost two spots this year. Porsche and BMW went up by two slots while Lexus has moved down by one. Meanwhile, Tesla takes the lead when it comes to the highest US automotive brand this year after having earned the 8th position with a road test score of 88 points and overall score of 73 points.

Fuel economy is now an everyday term we hear and read in the automotive world. Just recently, some car manufacturers got into serious trouble for claiming false statements with regard to fuel consumption. As it turns out, they have a different way of computing the miles per gallon returned by the vehicle.

Cars are easier to sell once the customers know it’s more fuel-efficient. After all, the cars you use daily should be light on the budget. Then it has to be environment friendly. In fact, the CO2 emission standards set by some government have since promoted diesel over petroleum. We have to admit that because of this, we kind of looked at petroleum as the bad guy.

Some vehicles designed for city driving basically lacks on performance but at least there’s more mileage. Most of the time, fuel-efficiency is only featured on entry levels. These economy cars have smaller engines and are more appropriate for everyday use. That means, you can rarely find a top of the line vehicle with big engine that offer fuel savings. But did you know that Ford’s EcoBoost technology makes it all possible?

Lotus Cars always has something up its sleeve. This time, they decided to improve the already spectacular Evora, putting in more power and lessening the weight, to come up with an even more sensational Lotus Evora Sport 410. This comes even as car enthusiasts are still reeling from the recently announced new models Elise Cup 250 and the Exige Sport 350.

Engineers at the famous Lotus Lightweight Laboratory must have had put enormously effort in successfully pulling off an seemingly impossible feat – taking off a massive 70kg from the Evora model to come up with the new Lotus Evora Sport 410.

In the lighter car, high performance carbon fibre components had to be standard. When combined with the 410 HP supercharged engine with the track-bred 3-Eleven, the Lotus Evora Sport 410 eats up the road faster than its predecessor, a mere 3.9 seconds to reach 0-60 mph and an amazing 186 mph top speed.

The Citroën C4 Picasso has once again managed to get the “Best MPV” during the 2015 Fleet World Honours held in London. Citroën had previously won this award in 2014. The new award in fact named the C4 Picasso as joint winner with Grand C4 Picasso. Fleet World Honours judge Steve Moody commented that Citroën had been manufacturing excellent MPVs and it is the C4 Picasso that takes advantage of this fact.

The 5-seater C4 Picasso is both stylish and distinctive but remains practical. Moody adds that what made the Grand C4 Picasso win is that it does not stop in setting the standard of the class and is the only 7-seater MPV than has less than 100g/km of CO2 emission despite not having a hybrid technology.

Both the C4 Picasso and Grand C4 Picasso give buyers a wide range of equipment choices like an active radar-guided cruise control, dual-zone air conditioning, 7-inch Touch Drive interface with a 12-inch panoramic HD central display, and panoramic windscreen.
