Official: McLaren 12C Spider to be revealed next week

If yesterday it was just a rumor, McLaren officially announced today its second model, the open roofed 12C Spider. As expected, the car is powered by the same twin-turbo V8 found on the coupe version, delivering 625 PS, as well as same super stiff carbon fibre MonoCell chassis.

McLaren also released an official image of the car and the first man to drive the car (at least in photos) is Jenson Button. Just like the Ferrari 458 Spider, the McLaren 12C Spider will use a folding hard roof.

Moreover, McLaren released also a video and announced that the open top 12C Spider will be officially revealed on July 3rd, next week. “One man used to excitement behind the wheel is Jenson Button.
