McLaren has already commenced the production of the McLaren Senna sports car this year. On the other hand, Aston Martin will start building the much-anticipated Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar in 2019. There is no doubt that there is overwhelming interest in these limited-series production cars, and the top honcho of Italian sports car maker Lamborghini won't let such opportunity pass by.
Stefano Domenicali, chief executive of Automobili Lamborghini, has disclosed to Autocar that the Italian sports car maker is seriously considering building an “extreme aero” limited-series production car that would compete against the like of the McLaren Senna and Aston Martin Valkyrie.
According to Domenicali, Lamborghini’s possible new limited-series production car would be “in the vein of Centenario and Veneno,” which are both limited production hypercars that fetched millions of Euros in price. Lamborghini only built 40 examples of the Centenario, of which 20 are coupes and 20 are roadster. The production run for the Lamborghini Veneno was more limited, as only five coupes were built (only three were sold to customers) and only nine roadster versions were produced.Read the entire article Lamborghini CEO mulls a car to rival the McLaren Senna and Aston Martin Valkyrie
McLaren’s most track-focused, road legal car – the McLaren Senna -- might be quick and fast. However, it remains no match for a wall, such as this one near Munich, Germany. This would be an example on how you should not drive a newly delivered Senna.
According to GT Spirit, the owner of this new McLaren Senna just took delivery of the downforce-rich sports car. The owner wasn’t named, but he was identified to be a 43-year old businessman from Grunwald, a suburb of Munich, Germany. A Facebook post by McLaren Munich said the Senna – wrapped in dark blue and black finish -- was just delivered to its new owner on October 20, 2018, a Saturday.
Perhaps too excited to test the performance limits of his 800-PS hypercar, this businessman took the McLaren Senna for a spin on the road. The hypercar didn’t fail its new owner, but its driver did fail this pricey high-performance machine. Based from the tire marks left on the road, the accident was caused by the driver losing control of his new Senna. The rear end of the hypercar might have swung out and its driver seems to completely lost control of the Senna. Then, the front end of the Senna hit the wall, sustaining some damage. The impact was strong enough to activate the airbags of the hypercar.Read the entire article Newly delivered McLaren Senna crashes into a wall near Munich hours after delivery
The new McLaren Senna isn't your ordinary car on the road. It is a supercar that delivers 800 PS (789 hp), pays tribute to legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, and is available in a limited run of 500 examples. Now, one of these 500 examples has arrived in New York City, as delivered to renowned car collector Michael Fux.
Arriving at the garage of Fux is the first McLaren Senna made for North America. Furthermore, this example of the Senna was personalized for its owner by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). By taking a good look at the extensive bespoke content of this Senna example, it is safe to assume that Fux has really made this supercar an extension of his own personality.
Dubbed as the Fux Green McLaren Senna, this example features a Full Visual Carbon Fiber Body, as finished in a custom emerald green dubbed as Fux Green. This full body set has 67 parts, all needing nearly 1,000 hours to produce. The exterior is rounded off by blue-and-red wheel center lock nuts as well as ball-polished wheels.Read the entire article MSO-customized Fux Green McLaren Senna is delivered to owner in New York City
The McLaren Senna is indeed an attractive proposition from the British carmaker. While its £750,000 tag price and limited production run of just 499 examples makes this new Ultimate Series very hard to acquire, it is quite possible to have a Senna displayed in a fan’s house or room. This is by availing of highly detailed McLaren Senna scale models from Amalgam Collection.
At first glance of the image of Amalgam’s McLaren Senna, it would be easy to mistake this as the actual supercar. But once the actual replica is seen, reality strikes that this is just a 1:8 scale model. It is so detailed that the Senna mini replica could easily deceive and stun anyone who looks at it. From the front end, the cabin, the flanks, side mirrors, the wheels to its rear section, rear fascia and massive rear spoiler, the miniature Senna looks very much the same as the original model – except for the size.
As a 1:8 replica, it means that every centimeter (or any unit of scale) of the miniature McLaren Senna corresponds to around 8 cm (or any applicable unit) of the full-scale model. The original Senna has a length of 4,744, while the 1:8 replica measures at 600 mm. To achieve the dimensions and stunning appearance of the replica, Amalgam Collection employed CAD (computer assisted design) data sourced from none other than McLaren Automotive. To ensure that the mini Senna accurately represents the full-scale original supercar, McLaren engineers and designers had the replica completely undergo a full vetting process.Read the entire article Amalgam Collection is offering an accurate mini replica of new McLaren Senna
Fans of McLaren are sure to be excited as the company has revealed it will be presenting a bespoke Senna Carbon Theme during the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. This is one of the five themes that are being developed in partnership with McLaren Special Operations.
As implied by the name, the most striking feature of this model is the complete body kit, all of which is composed of carbon fiber. In addition, the company revealed that this special edition supercar has a total of 67 parts, all of which took an estimated 1,000 hours to make. The Solar Yellow detailing for example took around 250 hours of work.
The black main hue and yellow detailing can be seen on the front active aero blades, the sill exteriors, and the rear wing. This particular color combination on the outside can also be seen on the interior particularly on the Alcantara sports seats in black contrasted by the yellow stitching. Its steering wheel even has a leather centre band in the same yellow hue. While the exterior has the Laurel Green brake calipers, the inside has the doors gas struts in the same color.Read the entire article McLaren unveils Senna Carbon Theme at 2018 Geneva Auto Show
After having recently released teaser images of the new McLaren Senna, the automaker is finally ready to make a proper unveiling. The Senna, which is part of the Ultimate Series, gets its name from legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna de Silva. It will stand as the automaker’s most track-focused, road legal car. The automaker plans to build only 500 examples of this model, with profits going to the Senna Foundation charity. The Senna has a price tag of £750,000 ($1 million), in the UK, and believe it or not, all 500 units have already been accounted for.
Undoubtedly, the Senna has a unique exterior design. It was made to be very sleek to boost its performance. This model follows the “form follows function” principle, and its shape is meant to reduce drag and boost cooling. This car spent hours in the wind tunnel, a fact that’s quite obvious as soon as you take note of its double rear diffuser to the underfloor scoop and the large rear wing.
The Senna has interesting see-through glass door panels. Furthermore, the carbon ceramic brakes it wears together with the Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires took seven months to assemble. The interior has a minimalist design that boasts a generous amount of carbon fiber. The cabin features goodies like an infotainment system, rearview camera, a foldable driver’s display, and a sound system. Each car will come with tailor-made carbon seats too.Read the entire article 2018 McLaren Senna gets official
