Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the delivery of over 1 million B-Class since the sports tourer was launched in 2005. The B-Class has been logging a good performance in Germany and is currently considered the market leader in the compact MPV sector. Mercedes considered Germany as the largest market for the B-Class, followed by China.
According to Ola Källenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for Marketing & Sales, the B-Class is the perfect combination of “sporty design, impressive driving dynamics and incomparable driving comfort,” making it popular with customers. Källenius noted that the current B-Class model is allowing Mercedes to penetrate the most diverse customer groups, “from families with children to active seniors.”
B-Class also proved popular with fleet customers, being voted Corporate Car of the Year in 2013. Likewise, the most popular engines for the B-Class are the B 180 petrol and diesel engines, each accounting for around 30 percent of sales. Around 50 percent of B-Class vehicles sold come with a navigation and infotainment system.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz celebrates delivery of over 1 million B-Class units
Ford GT deliveries in Europe finally started, Scandinavian customer is one of the first to get the keys
In today’s world, there are a lot of pros and cons that this highly digital world has brought to us. We’ve become so used to instant gratification that having to wait for something we really want can be excruciating. When most things can arrive in what seems to be a blink of an eye, a wait of nearly two years to get your hands on the Ford GT must feel terrible. That is indeed a serious type of punishment.
This is the experience of about 6,500 car enthusiasts from all over the world who applied to purchase one of the first 500 Ford GT supercars. Yes, this model has been available in the United States for quite some time now. That’s why it’s a big deal when you’re one of the first persons in Europe to get the keys to the GT.
The lucky customer who is the first to receive this GT in Scandinavia is Jason Watt. He used to be a racing driver in Denmark. Back in 1999, he got into a major motorcycle accident, which resulted to his body being paralyzed from the chest down.Read the entire article Ford GT deliveries in Europe finally started, Scandinavian customer is one of the first to get the keys
French high-performance car maker Bugatti Automobiles commenced deliveries of its 1,500-hp Bugatti Chiron super sports car in March 2017. While the demand for the Chiron hypercar is high, its production nature limits the number of examples assembled and delivered each year. Good news though as the company was able to reach its delivery target for 2017 – 70 examples of the Bugatti Chiron were sent to customers around the world.
Ordering and purchasing a new Bugatti Chiron is one thing, while getting to drive it is another. Wolfgang Durheimer, President of Bugatti Automobiles, remarked that the French carmaker is aiming to keep the waiting times for the customers as short as possible. So far, only 70 customers who ordered the Chiron have received their supercars.
When Bugatti commenced delivery of the Chiron in March 2017, the carmaker has already taken more than 200 orders. As of December 2017, the orders have ballooned to more than 300 examples. Bugatti revealed that 43 percent of orders were from customers in Europe while 26 percent were from North America, which includes the United States and Canada. Around 23 percent of the orders were from the Middle East while the remaining 8 percent were from the Asia-Pacific region.Read the entire article Bugatti achieves goal of delivering 70 examples of Chiron hypercar in 2017
While Tesla Motors continues to struggle with regards to the assembly of its much awaited Tesla Model 3, investment firm Oppenheimer & Co. is confident that its previous production estimates of the mid-size all-electric sedan would still be reached by the end of 2017.
There is no denying that Tesla is still ramping up production of the new Model 3, but previous reports had indicated that production woes have been bugging the electric carmaker. In its previous estimates, Oppenheimer said Tesla would be able to produce 3,005 units of the Model 3 in 2017. Considering reports that Tesla managed to deliver more than 200 units of the Model 3 sedan in the third quarter, the company would have to deliver around 2,800 examples of its newest offering in the current quarter covering October, November and December 2017.
While Tesla hasn’t updated its delivery guidance, Oppenheimer is expecting the carmaker to deliver 100,056 vehicles in 2017 – encompassing all its offerings like the Model S, Model X and Model 3. Tesla is aiming to produce around 5,000 vehicles per week in December.Read the entire article Tesla is expected to deliver 3,005 Model 3 units by end of 2017
Donkervoort, the Dutch sports car manufacturer, is making the most of a limited run of the sold out D8 GTO RS, at only 40 units. But this time, an even rarer model will be made with only 15 examples - that is the Naked Edition of the said model. As of today, the company has already sent out 20 units of the standard model to their respective owners, as well as the very first example of the Naked Edition D8 GTO RS. It was delivered to its new owner located somewhere in Germany.
Naturally, the Naked Edition will stand out due to its eccentric design, but even more so with its striking Monte Carlo Blue Carbon finish. The carbon fiber body was then given a transparent paint that was developed by both Donkervoort and BASF’s upscale brand R-M. What makes this finish so cool is that you could still see the carbon fiber through it. Ninety-five percent of the bodywork is made out of the lightweight material, including the roll-bar trim, the headlight housing and the ignition cylinder housing.
To cut down some more weight, Donkervoort used some spray on carbon components on some areas instead of painting them, which really helped with the diet. By doing all this, one would expect the D8 GTO RS to be extremely light, and true enough, the special edition only weighs a total of 695 kilograms (1,532 pounds) - that is quite an impressive weight for a sports car.Read the entire article First Donkervoort Naked Edition D8 GTO RS has been delivered
Cars Direct earlier reported that Chevrolet is currently putting orders on hold for the new Corvette. Despite recently announcing a series of updates, it is unfortunate that the 2018 models may not arrive until this December.
Reports say the postponement was due to the temporary shutdown of the Bowling Green facility in Kentucky. This is to give way to the plant’s ongoing construction that will last for about three months. As spokesperson Ron Klinon said, the upgrade will commence in August to let them complete the construction of GM’s state of the art paint facility. Because of this, the production has been rescheduled to November which means the 2018 Corvette may not be found at the dealerships until December.
As for Chevrolet’s inventory, we learned that it currently has about 14,700 Corvettes in total. This is equivalent to a 146-day supply which isn’t so bad at all considering Chevy also needs to empty out its inventory especially of the existing year models. That said, the figures released by the Automotive News Data Center may benefit General Motors but the consumers may be put at a disadvantage with the diminishing supply of Corvettes--- especially when it comes to the decreasing number of incentives available.Read the entire article Chevrolet delays orders for 2018 Corvette, deliveries may start in December
From the latest interview with Mercedes-Benz USA spokesman Rob Moran by Automotive News, we learned that the company is letting go of its zero-emissions hatchback a.k.a. the B-Class Electric Drive effective on the third quarter of this year. It hasn’t even been three years yet since it started selling in the market in December 2013. The reason behind its departure isn’t only caused by the EV’s obvious poor sales performance, but also because Mercedes-Benz will soon to renovate its manufacturing facility in Restatt, Germany.
Details about replacing this model have not been revealed yet but the factory will be converted mainly for Mercedes Benz’s upcoming compact model range. By 2018, the German car manufacturer is looking to launch an all-new A-Class hatchback along with other compact vehicle models. While the traditionally powered B-Class maintains its production course, Mercedes sees to it that its newly developed EQ sub brand will find the new range of EVs ready for take-off. More than ten vehicles with no combustion engines are being prepared for launch all the way until 2025. All these come with an investment amounting to $11.7 Billion.
It seems Mercedes finally knows what to expect as far as electrification is involved especially after setting out the Concept EQ last 2016 in Paris. Though the concept model is actually a crossover, talks about another EQ concept are strong and it seems to be heading its way to this year’s Frankfurt Motorshow. If so, Mercedes is looking to unveil a production hatchback EV that will probably rival the BMW i3, if not exceed it. Rumors also suggest that it is set to arrive as a road-going model by 2020.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive will be discontinued
Earlier this year, Ford had already begun deliveries of the Ford GT. However, the company has been experiencing some delays at their facility in Canada. This means that the next few GT supercars may take a little longer to get to their respective owners. The reason for the delay is due to supplier constraints and issues related to homologation testing
But Ford has already sent out letters to customers who will be receiving their Ford GTs later than the original schedule. According to Automotive News, Ford stated in the letter that “the craftsmanship required to build these vehicles for global markets has required that we adjust our original timing projections”. These letters were even signed by Global Marketing Manager Henry Ford III and Ford Performance boss Dave Pericak.
Having said that, the company did not mention when the Ford GTs will be delivered specifically. Instead, they will update the customers within the week providing them with a three-month delivery window. It is said that they have also nearly completed the ramp up process, and when it has been completed, they will be able to build one Ford GT a day. From now to 2020, there will only be 250 examples of the Ford GT to be built.Read the entire article Ford GT customers will have to wait a little longer due to supply constraints
Last July 3rd, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors announced on Twitter that the first 30 Tesla Model 3s will be delivered earlier to customers earlier than they have expected. He even added that the first ever model will be ready on Friday, July 7th.
We did not get an update over the weekend whether it was finished or not, but now, the company has confirmed that the first Tesla Model 3 has been built, and is just going through a final checkout.
Unsurprisingly, the new owner of the #0001 is the CEO himself. He did explain that to get the rights to have the first model, you have to be the first person to make a full deposit. He also told the Brad Sams, the guy that asked who the lucky owner of the Model 3 is, that it was Ira Ehrenpreis who had the rights as he was the very first person who paid the full deposit. But Ehrenpreis gave the rights to Musk as his 46th birthday present. The number one Tesla Model 3 is dressed up in a black exterior finish, as seen on Musk’s post.Read the entire article First Tesla Model 3 goes to Elon Musk as a birthday gift

Last month, the Lamborghini Centenario made its way to the Transformers: The Last Knight premiere where it got the attention of many. Following that event, three Lamborghini Centenario coupes landed on the US soil. One of them made its way to Lamborghini Newport Beach, while the two went straight to Beverly Hills and New Jersey, respectively. And this week, another Centenario arrives, but as a drop top.
We are aware that only a total of 40 units of the Centenario will be produced - 20 roadsters and 20 coupes. Last week, Lamborghini Beverly Hills took one of the 20 Centenario Roadsters. Similar to the coupe, the limited-edition roadster has a V12 engine that produces 759 horsepower (565 kilowatts). The most common colour scheme for the roadster would be the one on the photo, a bare carbon fiber finish with yellow accents, paired with silver wheels and black brake calipers.
To complement the exterior finish, the roadster's interior has been finished with Black Nero Ade leather and Alcantara throughout, accented with yellow piping and stitching on the seats. The steering wheel and the dashboard also get yellow embroidery. As standard with all Lamborghini vehicles, the company's logo is stitched on the headrests.Read the entire article First Lamborghini Centenario Roadster heads to the United States
The wait is finally over for Dodge enthusiasts; the company will be taking orders for the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon this Wednesday, 21 June. The model will have an asking price of $86,090, including gas tax and destination. For those who take orders this week, expect to get your car this fall.
Dodge said in the press announcement that the company has developed a unique ordering process for the Demon, hoping to prevent speculators from selling the model for much higher prices. Examples of the muscle car that will be sold at or below the MSRP, will receive a lower serial number and also get priority scheduling. Meanwhile, those Demons that will be sold higher than the MSRP will have to wait until after the priority production has been completed.
As you all know, the Dodge SRT Challenger Demon is limited to only 3,000 units in the United States, plus an additional 300 units for the Canadian market. Each one of the Demons will have a serial number that indicates its place in the production order. So far, the company has only planned to build a single model year for it.Read the entire article Dodge changes ordering method for 2018 Challenger SRT Demon to deter opportunists
Enthusiasts know that in the automotive world, beauty (and power) always comes with a price – a very big price, at that. The Lamborghini Centenario is an example. Considering its beauty and power, the Centenario has a right for an expensive price tag. It gets more expensive when you factor in its exclusivity as only 40 examples will be available worldwide. Twenty units of this exclusive hypercar come as coupes, while the other twenty are convertibles. Come to think of it, with its price and a limited number of units available [worldwide], it will be quite rare to spot any one of these in just any ordinary neighborhood.
Last May, we’ve learned of the whereabouts of one Centenario, which is apparently flaunting its stunning bare carbon fiber exterior featuring blue accents in California – and our first time to spot the car not in is usual carbon fiber and yellow finish. Now, just a few weeks from this first sighting, two more examples have been spotted in the stateside. Photos of the said vehicles have already circulated online, leaving us jaw-slacked by its beauty.
The first of the latest two examples comes in Nuovo Giallo Orion yellow finish with carbon fiber accents – yet again, forgoing its usual carbon fiber body. The said majestic creation landed into U.S. soil just a few months after the first sighting, and it was delivered fresh to Lamborghini Beverly Hills to await its owner.Read the entire article Two new Lamborghini Centenarios have landed on US soil
A few months ago, Lamborghini introduced the Centenario supercar. Since then, only eight units of the model were brought out by the company. And if you remember, we’ve already seen three of those examples: where the first one wore a combination of orange and black finish, the second one wearing a classic yellow and carbon fiber finish, and the third had a carbon fiber body though Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program, finished with blue accents - this one was a U.S. example.
This supercar, based on the Aventador, has been eagerly anticipated. To make everybody aware, the Centenario celebrates Lamborghini founder, Ferriccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday. Having only 40 models built worldwide, 20 of those will be coupes, and the other 20 will be roadsters.
Each and every unit of the Centenario does have its own character, but we would say that the eighth one is the most unique of them all. Leading luxury dealer group, H.R. Owen has welcomed the supercar at its most famous Lamborghini London dealership on Saturday 27 May. What makes this Centenario unique from its other counterparts is that it wears a bare carbon fiber exterior combined with orange accents all over the body. This is currently the only example with this exclusive finish, and is the first of its kind in the U.K., making it a truly unique piece.Read the entire article Lamborghini Centenario is put on display at London dealership, set for delivery to HR Owen
The Italian sports car Lamborghini revealed the first ever magnificent Centenario around the year 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show. And even though the Lamborghini Aventador SV and Centenario have a brooding similarity when it comes to performance, the Centenario was pretty much still a hit to loyal Lamborghini fans and car enthusiasts worldwide. Now a Lamborghini Centenario has arrived in the U.S., particularly at Newport Beach located in Costa Mesa, California. While it is the first ever Centenario to step on American land, it won’t be the last.
Largely based on the Lamborghini Aventador SV, the dashing Centenario utilizes the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 that will produce around 759hP (565 kW) and pure 508 lb-ft (688 Newton Meters) of torque, allowing the sports car to reach around 60 miles per hour (96 km per hours) needing only 2.8 seconds to do the job. Nevertheless, the top speed of the Centenario is limited to around 217 mph (349 kmh). The said horsepower is only 20hp more powerful than its predecessor, but the Centenario is considered a tad lighter due to its carbon fiber body. The Centenario weighs at an estimated 3,350 lbs (1,519 kg).
The Italian automaker claimed that performance-wise, the Centenario is more dominant compared to SV but not on a large scale. Only 40 units of the Lamborghini Centenario worth around $1.9 million each will be manufactured and sold globally. Specifically, there will be 20 coupes and 20 convertibles produced to celebrate the 100th birthday of founder Ferrucio Lamborghini, who was born on April 28, 1916. The swanky sports car that was delivered in the US flaunted its awesome bare carbon fiber exterior paired with blue accents to contrast its dark paint.Read the entire article First Lamborghini Centenario has landed on U.S. shores
BMW’s European delivery program is considered as one of the best ways to receive a new vehicle within the automotive business. Consumers can choose to pick up their newly bought vehicle fresh from the factory; in return, they have to plan a European road trip and drop by at the BMW's Welt operations in Germany. The German automaker powerhouse BMW has been offering this delivery program since 2007 but it didn’t have an electric vehicle on the list until now.
BWM has broadened its European Delivery Program by adding the BMW i8 to the list at the Welt, an offer that was then limited to only standard petrol units. Buyers that will be personally picking up their automobiles at Welt operations are given the one of a kind experience of waiting for the vehicle surrounded by glass walled hall, with the unit lifted up from lower levels via an elevator platforms, and while they're at it, they must check out the BMW HQ and museum. Moreover, the buyer can save around 5% off the base manufacturer's suggested retail price at the same time. But if you were hoping to get the beloved BMW i3; unfortunately, it’s not yet included in the European Delivery Program.
According to BMWBLOG, the hidden gem in BMW's purchasing process is undoubtedly the European Delivery Program. A lot of consumers don’t know that this delivery program exists. We think that if more consumers know about it, more people will patronize it. Part of the awesomeness of this program is that it allows the purchaser to get a substantial discount on the chosen vehicle and the trip to Germany and maybe other European countries just sounds so tempting. European consumers have to pay up an additional fee of €500 for this one of a kind experience, unlike American customers.Read the entire article Pick up your BMW i8 in grand style at Welt center via its European delivery program
The long-awaited Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 is coming your way! The company had just announced that the first batch of its off-road pickup truck had just left the Wentzville, Missouri factory, and the first few people who ordered will get them as early as this month.
We first saw this monster truck during last November’s Los Angeles Auto Show. And we all know that this one isn’t like any other trucks out there. This is hardcore. During the auto show, the truck showed us what it is capable of - tackling the toughest real life off-road scenarios. In fact, its whole body has been developed for circumstances like this.
The midsize truck has a whole new level of suspension, with its body being lifted by two inches. It has a new set of cast-iron control arms, increasing the truck’s track width by 3.5 inches. The new front and rear bumpers give more space, allowing the truck to fit a set of 31-inch Goodyear Duratrac tires on the 17x8-inch wheels.Read the entire article Deliveries begin for the first batch of the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
This can be a pivotal year for the Elon Musk-led company as the iconic American automaker made headlines as it reportedly delivered over 25,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2017, a new record for the electric car maker. This report from Tesla is surprising, considering that the firm has previously encountered a series of production delays and missed deliver targets.
Analysts had estimated that its deliveries for the quarter will be about 23,000 to 24,500, but Tesla proved them wrong. The powerhouse company marked a quarterly record with a 69% increase compared to last year's first quarter deliveries figure which indicates that business is booming for the folks in Tesla. The Model S leads the way for its deliveries as 13,450 S units were delivered while Tesla Model X is trailing behind by a narrow margin with 11,500 deliveries made. Around 4,650 automobiles were still in the process of being delivered, thus they will be counted as second quarter deliveries, Tesla remarked.
It is an incredible feat for Tesla to be able to do all these, especially as the Tesla Fremont plant was set offline a lot in the last few months. Tesla said that the numerous times that the plant’s operations were interrupted were necessary amid company plans to spearhead the production of the initial batch of the new Model 3s. Tesla's CEO Elon Musk raised more than $1.2 billion in a stock and debt sale the previous month to assist in the fund costs for the Model 3.Read the entire article Tesla breaks quarterly delivery record with 25,000 units sold in Q1-2017
Aston Martin first introduced this in the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and after a long wait, the track-only Vulcan is finally on its way. To be specific, there are actually five of them. The company released images of the hypercar covered up as they prepared for their journey, though they did not mention where these cars will be delivered.
These five cars are worth $11.5 million as each of them has a price tag of $2.5 million. The 800 horsepower (569 kilowatt) vehicle is equipped with a 7.0 liter V12 under its hood. That means that these five cars add up to a total 4,000 horsepower (2,982 kW).
The whole exterior of the car is built with carbon fiber. The Vulcan comes with a full carbon fiber chassis, a super lightweight but at the same time rigid structure that provides a strong foundation for the vehicle. The exhaust system is also made of almost weightless materials such as Inconel and Titanium. The Torque Tube stays the same as all Aston Martins but this time is made with Magnesium so it cuts 30% of the weight. Moreover, the front and side screens are 250 times stronger than glass and is shatter resistant, being made from hard-coated Polycarbonate, which also has anti-UV coating.Read the entire article 5 Aston Martin Vulcans are on their way to the track
