2011 Mercedes-Benz CL550 4Matic, CL63 AMG and S63 AMG pricing announced

In an official statement, Mercedes-Benz USA announced that the restyled 2011 CL550 4MATIC will be priced from $114,025. For those who don’t know, the new car is powered by a new 4.6-liter V8 engine has 20 percent smaller displacement than its predecessor but generates more power and torque.

The new engine delivers 429 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque, which means 12 percent more horsepower and 32 percent more torque than the engine it replaces.

Still, the fuel economy is improved by almost 10%. The second model from the CL-Class, receiving a new engine, is the 2011 CL63 AMG, which comes with a new 5.5-liter AMG V8 engine delivering 536 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

Brabus transforms Mercedes-AMG S 63 into menacing 800 Sedan and Coupe

The Mercedes-AMG S63 – both in its sedan and coupe guises -- is a high-performance luxurious ride that offers 612 PS (603 hp or 450 kW) of max output and 900 Nm of peak torque. These massive numbers are already considered as the higher levels of performance, but people at Brabus believe more can be done to further increase these figures. Turning belief to reality, the well-known German tuning company created the new Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe as based on the AMG S 63 4Matic+.

As its name indicates, the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 boasts of 800 PS (789 hp or 588 kW) of max output from the heavily upgraded AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. The peak torque level has already been boosted from 900 Nm to 1,000 Nm (737 lb.-ft.) as available at just 3,600 rpm. An untouched AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is already powerful enough to send the AMG S 63 – both sedan and coupe versions -- sprinting from nil to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and achieving a top speed of 250 km/h.

But the upgraded eight-cylinder mill with its boosted power allows the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 to dash from true zero to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds quicker than their regular counterparts. As for the top speed of the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63, these tuned units could go as fast as 300 km/h (186 mph). For those seeking a faster unit, Brabus is currently working hard to create some tweaks to allow the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 to go a lot faster.

2017 Mercedes-AMG Coupe 4Matic+ Yellow Night Edition costs $237,688

Last month at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, we witnessed the debut of the refreshed S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet. And finally, Mercedes-Benz has begun taking orders of these models in Europe, and deliveries will begin in January next year. But apart from that, we got another surprise from Mercedes-AMG as they revealed a limited S63 Coupe 4Matic+ Yellow Night Edition. And this unique model will only be available for six months, with a starting price of 202,121.50 euros ($237,688).

The automaker did not just come up with random names for these models, and the reason why it has the word “night” in its name is because customers can get the version of the S63 Coupe finished in either Selenite Grey Magno or Night Black Magno. The “yellow” in its name, on the other hand, refers to the yellow trims it will get on the mirror housings and the brake calipers. The S63 Coupe then gets a set of seven set double-spoke black wheels.

Obviously, this is more than just the paint job. The Yellow Night Edition was designed with the Aerodynamics Package that comes with a larger front splitter and lip spoiler on the trunk. The aerodynamic parts are finished in high-gloss black, but customers can get the Carbon Fiber Package if they prefer these parts to be made of carbon fiber. The coupe also gets a set of stripes that stretch along the lower edges on both sides of the car.

The introduction of the updated S-Class Cabriolet was well-expected after Mercedes took the wraps off the face-lifted S-Class Sedan or Saloon earlier this year. The mapping system gets activated and builds a new surge of power to the engine around this time. However, it won’t fully activate when the coolant goes beyond its normal maximum temperature. The module only becomes active again when a certain level of oil temperature is specified. So this is why the Bi-Tronik Plug & Play module really makes a lot of sense.

The 2015 Geneva Motor Show will see the world’s fastest and most powerful all-wheel drive coupe as Brabus will bring its impressive 850 6.0 Biturbo Coupe based on the Mercedes-Benz S63 Coupe. The 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine found on the standard vehicle received a special Brabus crankshaft with longer stroke plus an enlarged cylinder bore as well as larger forged pistons.

As a result, the displacement increased from 5,461 cc to 5,912 cc and the engine delivers an astonishing 850 hp (625 kW) at 5,400 rpm and 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) of torque between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm. Still, you won’t get all that force as Brabus limited the maximum Nm of torque to 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft) in order to protect the entire powertrain.

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG had its official introduction, after it has been teased and later leaked. The new model, which is set to have its public unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show, has the usual AMG modifications when it comes to styling. It features bolder bumpers, thicker side sills, bigger 19-inch alloy wheels and a quad exhaust setup that make the car appear more menacing.

But then, others claim that it should still seem meaner. It is powered by an updated Euro 6-compliant twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine, producing 585 bhp (436 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft). The direct-injected gasoline engine includes Piezo injectors and an all-aluminum crankcase that comes with four valves per cylinder (with camshaft adjustment).

The mill features an air-to-water intercooler and an ECO start/stop function. It gets a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT sports transmission that comes in three modes: "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport) and "M" (Manual). In comparison to the former model, the new S63 AMG is lighter by as much as 220 lbs (100 kg) due to its use of AMG forged alloys, a lightweight lithium-ion battery (-20 kg / 44 lbs) and a two-piece braking system that weighs less.

As expected, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG is powered by the 5.5-liter V8 engine developing an impressive 585 hp (430 kW) and 900 Nm of torque.

With these numbers, the car hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h or 155 mph. The 2014 S63 AMG is available in three versions: Short wheelbase, Long wheelbase (only available as right-hand drive) and 4Matic Long wheelbase. If the S63 AMG Long wheelbase hits 100 km/h (in 62 mph) 4.4 seconds, the S63 AMG 4Matic Long wheelbase is even quicker and zooms to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.0 seconds, all the way to a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

All the S63 AMG models use the same AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sports transmission which offers three driving modes – C (Controlled Efficiency), S (Sport) and M (Manual). In the “C” mode the ECO start/stop is active and as expected it shuts off the eight-cylinder engine when the car is at a standstill. In the “S” and “M” transmission modes the ECO start/stop function is deactivated.

Mercedes-Benz is releasing the CL‑Class Grand Edition in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the S-Class Coupé. The Grand Edition features exclusive designo paintwork, high-quality designo leather appointments as well as sporty 20-inch wheels. The Grand Edition also features AMG bodystyling elements, which gave it a unique sporty touch, and a special badge that signifies the exclusive nature of this anniversary edition of the S-Class luxury coupé.

The vehicle is based on the newest Mercedes CL 600 BRABUS. The CL 600's 12-cylinder engine is intensively reengineered in the BRABUS engine-building shop equipped with innovative machine equipment.

Just in time for the upcoming winter season, Brabus has prepared a modification package for the all-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz CL and S500 models. Aside from the custom exterior package, the power is boosted and the standard speed limiter is removed. Brabus will unveil these two cars at the Essen Motor Show, comparable to the SEMA of Germany.

The 435-hp, 4.7-liter V8 is used as standard on the CL and the S500. Furthermore, the Brabus B50-490 engine tuning makes use of the PowerXtra module, which remaps the ignition and the electronic boost-pressure control. Its output has been increased to 490 hp while its peak torque rises to 575 lb-ft.

These features are also present on the B50-520 package but the output is 520 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque. Upon integration with the B50-520 kit, the Brabus Vmax unit could reach a speed of 186 mph after the speed limiter that sets the speed at 155 mph is removed. This means that a Brabus speedometer with a 220-mph dial would have to be installed.

A heavily disguised version of the upcoming Mercedes Benz S63 AMG based on the new W222 platform was spotted recently while testing. The carmaker has been keeping itself busy with preparing a new S-Klasse for the global market. What the carmaker will display at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show is highly anticipated. Fans expect the AMG to offer the latest in technology as well as a high dose of power and speed.

The spy photos fail to show even an inch of the body of the AMG; however, it’s likely that the German engineers were just testing if the chassis will be able to meet the demands of performance driving. This test mule is expected to have parts that won’t be used in the production car.

When it comes to exhausts, it’s likely that it hasn’t yet finalized work on the entire powertrain. Obvious from these shots are the bigger break discs and more open front air intakes.

Fans are sure to marvel at how the company has dressed it up like the famous 300SEL 6.8 AMG endurance racer that had participated in the 24 Hours of Spa. In 1971, the 300SEL 6.8 AMG competed at the track of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium in that year’s 24 Hours of Spa.

The 300SEL 6.8 AMG raced against Ford Capri RS, BMW 2800 CS, Chevrolet Camaro, Opel Commodore, and Alfa Romeo GTA. It came in second after completing 308 laps, behind a Capri and ahead of a Camaro. The vehicle needed to refuel frequently but it had few mechanical problems.

After its second-place finish, the red 300SEL became known internationally, especially in its home country of Germany. In 2006, Mercedes made 300 replicas. In recognition of its success in 1971, Mercedes placed matching sponsor decals all over its new 2011 S63 AMG, hoping to channel the spirit of the old AMG-prepped 300SEL.
