Honoring the brand’s bestsellers, Mercedes-Benz has just come up with an “AMG-fied” package both for the GLA and the CLA models. Since the GLA class had its makeover very recently, there are no major upgrades except for the AMG Performance Studio Package. It has been three years since Toyota’s luxury division, Lexus, unveiled the LC Coupe at the 2016 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), which is also known as the Detroit Auto Show. The 2019 Detroit Auto Show – formally known as the North American International Auto Show – is standing witness to the debut of the refreshed iteration of the Lexus RC F coupe. However, making it debut alongside the RC F coupe is a version designed to live on the tracks. We are talking about the new Lexus RC F Track Edition.
Essentially, the Lexus RC F Track Edition is a more hardcore version of the RC F. The RC F, in turn, is the sportier edition of Lexus’ entry level RC coupe that was unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. That makes the RC F Track Edition the sportiest and most hardcore evolution of the RC coupe.

Ford surprised visitors at the 2019 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Michigan when it introduced the all-new 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which it touts as the most powerful street-legal Ford so far. The Mustang Shelby GT500 will arrive in Fall 2019, with prices to be announced close to launch date.
Basically a Mustang without a pony logo but with a cobra badge, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will be powered by a 5.2-liter V8 engine with Eaton 2.65-liter Supercharger. This mill is mated to a segment-first dual-clutch transmission, a Tremec 7-speed dual clutch transmission that is capable of shifts in under 100 milliseconds.
Ford didn’t disclose the exact output numbers for the 5.2-liter V8 engine, but said that this mill is capable of deliver more than 700 of whooping horsepower. The 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit marks the start of a new era at Toyota. Every January of every year, auto companies, automotive fans and enthusiasts as well as potential customers flock to Detroit to attend the highly prestigious North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). It turns out that this NAIAS won’t be happening in January anymore by the end of the decade or 2020, as the event’s organizers have decided to shift its schedule to another time of the year, according to a report from The Detroit News. While the Detroit Auto Dealers Association – organizer of the NAIAS – has already made up its mind about the change in schedule, it has yet to announce when the auto show would be held.
Previously, the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) had considered moving the NAIAS to October or June. Rod Alberts, executive director of the DADA, had told The Detroit News that October was being flaunted as a nice time to hold the NAIAS. Man Muncey, North American International Auto Show PR Manager, did respond to one inquiry saying that they have not heard from Mercedes-Benz regarding this matter just yet. The first time we heard about this was when Automotive News cited a senior executive at Mercedes. Apparently, he said that the automaker will have to decide whether the North American International Show fits with the cadence of their launch calendar and if perhaps, there is a more effective format for its needs. Infiniti finally decides to share with us its Q Inspiration Concept at the recent 2018 North American International Auto Show. And whether you like the design of it or not, you better get used to it because this will be the look of next generation Infiniti vehicles.
For us, we actually find the Q Inspiration’s design quite fascinating. The grille alone is a head turner, considering the fact that it features a weird but interesting design of the company’s current double arch, filling it tightly with louvres. The air intakes on the lower fascia and the wheels give it a sporty aesthetic too. The shape of the headlights looks like cuts, which are complemented by similar lines on the hood.
Moving on to the rear, the design transitions into a sleeker look. The rear is like a fastback, and this flows from a smooth roof with thin pillars. The rounded tail is slightly understated with integrated exhausts. After releasing images of the new 2019 Jeep Cherokee, the American brand has finally unveiled in metal the world-renowned mid-size sports utility vehicle at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
Serving as an update or a refresh of the fifth generation of the Jeep Cherokee (KL generation), the 2019 iteration of the vehicle features a new, authentic and more premium design that remains faithful to the iconic Jeep styling. The current Lexus LX has been around for quite some time now. That means that it will have to be given a major upgrade if it is to continue to keep up with its rivals. The answer to this dilemma appears to be the recently unveiled LF-1 Limitless Concept. Though it may just be a concept for now, this could actually be a preview of the all new LX. After all, Lexus did say in an interview that their next concept could likely shape the future of a flagship luxury crossover.
To design the Lexus LF-1 Limitless, the automaker partnered with CALTY Design Research in California. The collaboration came up with a concept that has a bold exterior design, which was created by the same team that helped in the FT-1 project that acts as a preview to the new Supra. Similar to some concepts out there, it sits on a set of large 22 inch wheels, while adopting a sharp appearance in line with the company’s recent models.
To be more specific, the LF-1 Limitless’ dimensions are: 5014 mm (197.4 inches) long, 1986 mm (78.2 inches) wide, and 1605 mm (63.2 inches) in height. The concept is just a little bit longer and wider than the LX, and also sits closer to the ground. For those of you who are looking to get a new pickup truck, you might want to consider the 2019 Ram 1500, as the facelifted model not only has been made lighter, but is also powerful, safer, and more capable.
First of all, it is now 225 pounds lighter than its predecessor, because the tailgate is now made of aluminum, while the frame is now made of high strength steel. Unlike the Ford F-Series, the Ram is not getting an all aluminum body just yet. That is because steel is still needed for areas that need long term durability, says head of Ram, Jim Morrison.
Another area that has been greatly improved would be the truck’s aerodynamics. Its overall drag coefficient has decreased by nine percent to 0.357. This is the result of the standard active grille shutters, higher bed side rails, and of course, a lower suspension. It even comes with an electrically deployable aero spoiler that extends down from the bumper when the car hits 30-35 miles per hour. If in case the spoiler hits something on the road, there is no need to worry as it has the one-way clutch linkage. If you had plans to head to the 2018 Detroit Auto Show this month to see cars like the BMW Concept X7 iPerformance, we have got some bad news for you. The concept car is currently not on display because it got into an accident on its way there.
The very first time we saw this concept was at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It was then followed by another public appearance in the United States, just six weeks ago. The concept’s next schedule was then supposed to already be at Detroit, unfortunately, it is not meant to be.
In their statement to Autonews, the automaker just said that the X7 Concept got damaged while being transported to Detroit by delivery truck, though they did not share any more details regarding the accident or how it happened. Last year, Ford confirmed that the Ranger will finally return to the United States market. And here they are now, pulling the wraps off the 2019 midsized pickup. It has an all-new design that was made specially for the US. Having said that, it is slightly different from the Rangers we have been seeing overseas.
One can easily recognize the 2019 Ranger as a Ford even in a pool of midsize pickups. This is because of the horizontal bar grille and its unique vents on the front fenders. The flared fenders give the truck its toughness, while the angled windshield is meant to reduce drag and wind noise. A Ranger logo can also be found on the tailgate. The truck has short overhangs which are meant to improve off-road approach and departure angles. Two variations of this will be available, a SuperCab (half rear doors) and a SuperCrew with four doors.

Hyundai believes that the Veloster is doing a good job, and so it is taking the sports coupe and its Turbo version for another ride as new, second generation models for the 2019 model year. In fact, the all-new 2019 Hyundai Veloster and Veloster Turbo have just been unwrapped at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show.
While Hyundai is saying that the second generation of the Veloster has been comprehensively redesigned, the exterior of the newest iteration seemed similar to its predecessor. However, there is truth to this claim, as much of the redesign was derived from the sports coupe’s enhanced proportions and volume. Compared to its predecessor, the new Veloster is longer by around 0.8 inches and wider by 0.4 inches.
While the 2019 Veloster is as tall as the previous model, its rear headroom has grown by 0.6 inches. Retaining an asymmetrical two-plus-one configuration, the new Veloster features a more muscular stance with more voluminous fenders and wheel arches. Hyundai moved both the cowl point and A-pillar rearward to link the hood line and belt line. Its coupe-like presence is made possible by its lowered roofline and coupe-inspired fender line. Hyundai’s new N high-performance brand is announcing its entry into the United States with the unveiling of the 2019 Veloster N, its first N model for the US market, at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
Developed at Hyundai’s global R&D center in Namyang, South Korea, and refined at its Nurburgring-based testing site in Germany, the new Veloster N boasts of a number of design details that differentiate it from the Hyudai Veloster line. As a high-performance iteration of the Veloster, it is served by a more powerful engine matched by an electronically-controlled suspension. According to the South Korean carmaker, the Veloster N was developed to deliver thrilling cornering ability, everyday sports car drivability as well as race track capability.
Hyundai worked hard to differentiate the Veloster N from the Veloster Turbo and R-Spec models, and achieved this through an array of exterior, interior and mechanical elements. It seems like it is now the year of pickup trucks. This was made possible with the new mixed-material construction, combining both aluminum and steel throughout the truck’s body. Aluminum control arms in the suspension also save weight while improving rigidity.
Mark Reuss, GM’s boss, boasts about the Silverado’s bed, calling it the most functional bed of any full size pickup. That is because it will be offered in different lengths and is now seven inches wider than before. There will also be as much as seven cubic feet of lockable storage space over the wheel wells. The 2019 Kia Forte may not be as great as its bigger brother, the Stinger, in term of performance. However, the third generation sedan gets some of the Stinger’s design elements, like the more aggressive lower fascia as well as the new set of sweptback headlights. The next-generation Toyota Avalon has been refreshed but it still sticks to its purpose of offering generous space, while being stylish and functional. In fact, the Avalon offers quite a bit more than the Camry. The best part is that the 2019 model year will have more horsepower and improved fuel efficiency.
The 2019 Avalon has changed in terms of size; it is now longer, wider, and lower. The wheelbase has increased by 2.0 inches, while its length grew by 0.7 inch. Height has been lowered by an inch, while width increased by 0.8. This instantly gives the passenger cabin more space. Also, the model is now based on the TNGA platform, similar to the Prius and Camry.
Though the Avalon may remind you of a Camry, it still looks more aggressive, with running LED headlights, and LED taillights with sequential activation design. The XSE and the Touring models get cooler touches like a piano black trim, a trunk spoiler, quad exhaust tips, among other elements.
