Earlier this year, we had the chance to test the Mercedes-AMG GLE43. That time, the GLE43 had a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine that was capable of producing an impressive 362 horsepower. We were quite impressed with the six-cylinder mill considering that the car weighed almost 5,000 pounds. Now, the company decided they would give the 2018 model year an extra push of 23 horsepower, now giving it a maximum of 385 horsepower for the “43” model.
The sporty model will still be equipped with the same nine-speed automatic transmission that gives power to the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. But the other GLE models will only be getting a seven-speed gear box. As for performance, we have not heard from Mercedes USA just yet, but we do know that the previous year model could sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in just 5.6 seconds, while continuing to a top speed of 130 miles per hour (209 kph).
With this performance upgrade, we would naturally expect a price increase as well. The 2018 model year GLE43 now starts at $67,750 MSRP - that is $600 more than its predecessor. If the GLE43 is not fast enough for you, then you can opt for the more powerful GLE63 model that will cost you almost double at $102,550. The “63” model can give out 550 horsepower, or you can even go all out with the 577 horsepower GLE63, which starts at $109,700. These models can now be had with additional wood trims as part of the 2018 upgrade.Read the entire article Mercedes-AMG GLE43 gets power upgrade for the 2018 model year
Mercedes-AMG won't be so silent about its performance aspirations as the high-performance arm of Mercedes-Benz unveiled another hardcore model at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This time around, the performance division is giving more oomph to the new generation of the Mercedes GLE by taking the veil off the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+.
Even at the first look, the AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ is easily identifiable as an AMG offering thanks to a number of elements that only its performance vehicles don. The most glaring of these elements is the AMG-specific radiator grille, which comes with 15 vertical chromed strips. Centrally located on the dynamic-looking Panamericana grille is the Mercedes star in the double ring.
Furthermore, the new AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ features narrow headlamps, the A-Wing with silver-like trim as well as silver chrome-plated. On the rear end, the new GLE 53 4MATIC+ features a horizontal chromed diffuser strip in the rear apron and a special exhaust system with two chromed twin tailpipes. , As standard, the AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ rides on 20-inch light alloy wheels with AMG lettering. Customers can choose from seven wheel options, at sizes ranging from 20 inches to 22 inches.Read the entire article Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC+ brought thrills at 2019 Geneva Motor Show
The new Audi TT RS – yes, the top version of the German carmaker’s facelifted TT model series – is now officially here. If you could remember, the range-topping TT RS Coupe and Roadster were visually absent when Audi unveiled the facelifted TT model series in July 2018. That got some worried, so Audi is allaying those worries.
As introduced by the brand with the Four Rings, the latest iteration of the Audi TT RS Coupe and Roadster boasts of completely redrawn front end. However, most of us won't be able to distinguish the newest TT RS models from their predecessors right away. It would take discerning eyes – especially those of Audi TT RS fans and enthusiasts – to know how the latest iterations differ visually from the previous model.
For instance, the lateral air intakes on the front bumper are now larger, each divided by vertical strips. In addition, the quattro logo -- in matt titanium-look – is located in the lower part of the gloss black grille that is surrounded by matt black Singleframe. The grille is flanked by LED headlights as standard, or by optional matrix LED units.Read the entire article Facelifted Audi TT RS Coupe and Roadster now available to order

After revealing the coupe version of the 2019 BMW 8 Series, the German premium carmaker is introducing its convertible version. The only hybrids that automotive customers can get now from Porsche are its Panamera four-door saloon and its Cayenne sports utility vehicle. While the German sports car maker has confirmed that it would build a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 sports car, that won't happen in the near term. For those who can’t wait for Porsche to offer a 911 hybrid, Vonnen Performance is offering to convert your sports car into one.
Porsche’s main reason for not offering a hybrid version of the 911 is that the German company still doesn’t believe that the current battery technology is on par with its expectations for its venerated sports car. But with the rapid pace that the battery technology is growing, that could happen in the next few years. Porsche chief executive Oliver Blume had said that a 911 hybrid may arrive on the mid-cycle refresh of the 992 generation, which should happen by around 2022 or so.
Because Porsche won't do a 911 hybrid now, Vonnen Performance is offering to do so for 911 models built between 2012 and 2016. This also applies for other Porsche offerings currently not having a hybrid version, like the Boxster and the Cayman. The conversion kit and the entire setup would cost a Porsche owner around $75,000.Read the entire article Vonnen Performance is offering to convert Porsche 911 into a hybrid sports car for $75,000
