2017 Frankfurt Preview: Brabus Rocket 900 Cabrio based on 2017 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet

The 2017 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet is no doubt a powerful car, with a 621 horsepower engine under its hood. Despite its power, Brabus still decided that they'd push the S65's V12 engine even further. By doing so, they were able to extract an additional 267 horsepower, giving it a total of 888 horsepower (662 kilowatts) available from 5,500 rpm. Naturally, torque is also increased to 1,106 pound-feet (1,500 Nm) at 4,200 rpm from only 738 pound-feet (1,000 Newton metres). To preserve reliability, it had to be electronically capped to 885 pound feet (1,200 Nm).

With that much power hike, Brabus didn't just have to do some software revision, but they also had to increase engine displacement from 6.0 to 6.3 liters and enlarge the cylinder bores. Exhaust manifolds and larger turbochargers had to be installed too. The new control system takes care of cooling and stabilizing the car, making it work in the most efficient way while ensuring you get a smooth V12 cabriolet.

Brabus modified a seven-speed automatic transmission that works with the immense power of the V12, giving power to the rear wheels. It has been given a custom limited-slip differential, new intake manifold, bigger down pipes, and a high-performance exhaust that completes the hardware upgrades.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is entering an all-generation in the 2019 model year. Renowned German tuner Brabus is giving the current generation 2018 G-Class a fitting goodbye with the new Brabus 700 4x4² "one of ten" Final Edition. Safe to say, it is the final boss for the current G-Class with lots of power within.

Based on the Mercedes-Benz G 63 of the W 463 model series, the Brabus 700 4x4² "one of ten" Final Edition preaches it monstrous capability with a number of exclusive features. For instance, the exterior of the new super SUV is marked by the carbon BRABUS roof spoiler above the windshield. By all means, the Mercedes-AMG G63 is already a high-performance luxury sports utility vehicle. It essentially takes luxury to the off-road with a superb performance potential. Nonetheless, German tuner Brabus still thinks the AMG G 63 can still offer more. Thus, the German company created the new Brabus 700 Widestar.

Unveiled to the global public for the first time at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show, the Brabus 700 Widestar isn't just more powerful but is also more menacing than the AMG G 63, thanks to a number of modifications.

In terms of looks, the Brabus 700 Widestar appears more distinctive than a typical AMG G 63. This is thanks to a new Widestar variant made just for the new G-Class, transforming the AMG G 63 into a widebody version. The body of the 700 Widestar has become wider by 10 cm thanks to muscular sculpted wheel arch flares as well as Brabus fender attachments both at the front and rear axle.

For those of you who are not aware, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class is exactly the same model as the Nissan Navara, except it is dressed in fancier clothes while featuring some additional technology too. Also, the X-Class has been offering a more powerful six cylinder diesel engine since March.

Since there isn’t much of a difference between the two, there are some customers who are not willing to spend quite a bit more on the Mercedes-Benz X-Class. Instead, they opt for the more mainstream version. Nonetheless, the world’s largest aftermarket tuner, Brabus, has created a tuning package for this truck that might convince them to reconsider.

Brabus has developed a full-on exterior and interior kit for the X Class, giving it a sportier look while improving on its practicality. Among the add-ons are new LED markers built into the front bumper and another lighting module with twelve diodes on the roof, which is activated with the high beam. The revised fascia then gets a new grille design, and in the back is a set of chrome tailpipes.

The Mercedes-AMG S63 – both in its sedan and coupe guises -- is a high-performance luxurious ride that offers 612 PS (603 hp or 450 kW) of max output and 900 Nm of peak torque. These massive numbers are already considered as the higher levels of performance, but people at Brabus believe more can be done to further increase these figures. Turning belief to reality, the well-known German tuning company created the new Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe as based on the AMG S 63 4Matic+.

As its name indicates, the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 boasts of 800 PS (789 hp or 588 kW) of max output from the heavily upgraded AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine. The peak torque level has already been boosted from 900 Nm to 1,000 Nm (737 lb.-ft.) as available at just 3,600 rpm. An untouched AMG 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine is already powerful enough to send the AMG S 63 – both sedan and coupe versions -- sprinting from nil to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and achieving a top speed of 250 km/h.

But the upgraded eight-cylinder mill with its boosted power allows the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 to dash from true zero to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds quicker than their regular counterparts. As for the top speed of the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63, these tuned units could go as fast as 300 km/h (186 mph). For those seeking a faster unit, Brabus is currently working hard to create some tweaks to allow the Brabus 800 Sedan and Coupe based on the AMG S 63 to go a lot faster.

A lot of people question why there is even a 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65, firstly because it costs a lot more than the S63 sedan ($82,500 more) and yet, it is 0.7 second slower when sprinting from zero to 60 miles per hour. Both cars not only have similar top speeds, but they both offer the same options and features. In other words, we do not clearly see why the S65 should cost a lot more than the S63. We don’t see it both on paper, and when looking at it. Therefore, paying for so much more is quite irrational. But I guess that’s why its customers would want this model.

Nick Martin, AMG Product Manager at Mercedes-Benz, says that there will always be someone who prefers a 12-cylinder, and that they will buy the ultimate in performance because that’s their character.

The S65 is one of the few models out there that are still offered with a V12 engine, hence making it very exclusive. And of all Mercedes models, this is the only one with the S-Class powertrain that has been unchanged for the 2018 model year. Martin continues to say that the S65 has a niche market, and these people buy it not for logical reasons but because it is considered the best model in the dealership, saying that “the S65 exists because there is no S75”.

The current generation of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class that has been in existence since 1990 (W463) is set to hit the end of the road soon. But it remains to be a favorite base among a number of tuners, including Brabus. In fact, Brabus has teamed up with footwear designer Jon Buscemi to create an exclusive version of the G-Class -- the new Brabus 850 Buscemi Edition -- as unveiled to the global public at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show.

As the name of this all-terrain creation indicates, it comes with a massive 850 hp (625 kW or 838 bhp) of output at 5,400 rpm. This comes courtesy of a Brabus 850 6.0 twin-turbo V8 engine which had its stock displacement of 5,461 cc increased to 5,912 cc (333 cubic inches to 361 cubic inches).

This engine, also tuned to deliver a whopping 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb.-ft.) of peak torque available between 2,500 and 4,500 rpm, had its two production turbochargers replaced with turbochargers featuring modified exhaust manifolds and a larger compressor unit.

Have you been waiting for the most powerful twelve-cylinder off-roader? If that’s the case, you might want to look into this Brabus G65 with as much as 888 horsepower.

When looking at it from the outside, the Brabus G65 has a boxy design with a go-anywhere appeal, and capability of course. The German tuner first came out with the most powerful four-seat cabrio (based on the S65), following a E63 S sedan with as much as 700 horsepower, and now, they are on to the G65, or the legendary G-Class in its highest specification. Brabus only plans to build 10 examples of the Brabus G65, and each one will have a whopping price tag of €666,000 ($800,000), and the same 6.3-liter V12 biturbo engine (instead of the original one with 6.0 liters).

Speaking of the engine power and performance, the Brabus G65 will be armed with 888 horsepower (662 kilowatts) and 1,106 pound-feet (1,500 Newton-metres) of torque. The Bottrop-based tuner says that the ten Brabus G65 examples will be the most powerful off road vehicle in the world with a twelve-cylinder engine. However, one will not be able to enjoy the full mountain-moving torque as it will be electronically limited to 885 pound-feet (1,200 Newton-metres).

Brabus has a new tuning program for the 2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S and that is the additional 88 horsepower (65 kilowatts) it can give the E63 S. After countless test drives on racetracks and streets, the company has developed a plug-and-play auxiliary control unit that upgrades the electronic engine control unit with new mapping for ignition and injection, thus boosting pressure.

With Brabus’ new upgrade, the 4.0 liter biturbo V8 engine can now produce a total of 700 horsepower (515 kilowatts) and now 701 pound-feet (900 Newton-metres) of torque, from only 627 pound feet (850 Newton-metres) before. It comes with a nine-speed automatic gearbox and 4Matic system that channels power to all four wheels. After the upgrade, the E63 sedan can now accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in only 3.2 seconds, while the heavier station wagon can do it in 3.3 seconds.

The Brabus 700 is the perfect solution for those who thought that the 603 horsepower E63 S is underpowered.

Mercedes-Benz is not the company you expect to produce slow poke vehicles, and if you want more power boost then they got you covered with an AMG option. The team of tuners at Brabus takes these Mercedes-Benz releases and turns them into bolder, madder creations. Now the notable tuner has revealed its latest creation named the Brabus E-Class Wagon which is based on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate.

Clients who are searching for an even edgier style can opt for new wheel designs that measure between 18 and 21 in diameter. The larger ones measure 9 inches in front and 10.5 inches at the back.

These wheels were safety-certified for the S 213 model series by independent German Technical Inspection Association TUV. Drivers can also opt to make the big wheels look more attractive by choosing Brabus' suspension turning alternative.

Celebrated golfer Tiger Woods is once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. On Memorial Day, various news reports disclosed that Woods was arrested under suspicion for driving under the influence. Specifically, police found him sleeping on the steering wheel and was arrested for the DUI.

While this may once again dent Woods' reputation, it comes as a relief that nothing worse happened. His 2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG is altogether a different story. Though rather sketchy, the photos revealed that there were flat tires with the sidewalls torn. There were even some significant tweaks that can be seen on the wheels, which themselves clearly look dirty.

According to a report by the Police Department of Jupiter, Florida, the driver side also showed some damage. Looking at the photos though, the rather obvious damages look to be the loosened fender liner on the model's front wheel well. In addition, it appears that the front fascia has been dislodged. Given the fact that the driver side's front and rear wheels reveal some damage, one explanation could be that Woods may possibly have clipped something.
