Luckily for German law enforcement officers, Mercedes-Benz is presenting them with more ways to catch criminals as it launches the X-Class truck for cops at the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference 2018 in Frankfurt. Aside from the truck, the automaker will also reveal other models that are part of its range of Polizei-ready models, including some really efficient options.
Here is the thing, MercedesBenz does not offer many details about the changes for its police focused vehicles. But we are assuming that if these tweaks are similar to those like law enforcement models in the United States, these will likely include radio systems, on-board computers for officers, and a lot of storage space to keep all of the cops’ equipment.
For the X-Class in its police spec, the model is based on an all wheel drive to make it perform even better off road. The Polizei livery, however, makes the truck look really cool.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz has new police-ready packages for X-Class, Sprinter, E-Class, GLC
Carlex Design isn't a beginner with regards to tuning the Mercedes-Benz X-Class. In fact, it has even created a version with Maybach-like appearance and features. It has also created Off-Road-focused and Urban-tailored versions. Now, Carlex Design seems to be not contented with how far it has gone with the X-Class and is now presenting a new concept design for the luxury SUV from Mercedes.
Indeed, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class represents the luxury side of pickup trucks. While offering a drive that is comparable to a sports utility vehicle, the X-Class also delivers a smooth, comfortable ride that is expected of luxurious vehicles. Furthermore, it is laden with features usually found in premium cars. But at Carlex Design, the X-Class can be turned into luxurious 6x6 beast off the road. This can be well seen on the new X-Class Exy 6x6 Concept by Carlex Design.
The X-Class Exy 6x6 Concept is essentially the X-Class evolved into a whole new luxurious beast. It is much different from Carlex Design’s previous re-imaginations of Mercedes’ luxury pickup. The concept pickup has six wheels – two wheels more than a standard X-Class and previous Carlex Design X-Class creations. This also meant an extra axle on the rear section of this X-Class 6x6. The addition of two wheels naturally resulted to an extended bed, allowing this conversion of the X-Class to load and carry a greater volume of cargo.Read the entire article Carlex Design transforms the Mercedes-Benz X-Class into the beastly Exy 6x6 Concept
When the Mercedes-Benz X-Class was unveiled in 2017, it was no doubt a representation of luxury among pickup trucks. While Maybach represents the ultra-luxurious side of Mercedes-Benz, the X-Class isn't one. However, a Polish company that goes by the name of Carlex Design is offering to convert the new X-Class into a Maybach-like pickup in terms of looks and features.
Carlex Design noted that the Mercedes-Benz X-Class deserves to be called as a luxury pickup. Not only that the pickup offers a drive comparable to a sports utility vehicle, it also delivers a smooth comfortable ride. In addition, the new X-Class, in its standard guise, isn't just coz and comfortable, but is also equipped with features found in premium cars. Thus, Carlex Design made the X-Class a subject of a new conversion program that could be availed for as low as EUR105,000. To prove its point, the Polish specialist created an example.
At a glance, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class by Carlex Design is undeniably an X-Class but with a twist. The typical grille of the X-Class has been replaced by that of a Maybach. In particular, this conversion employs a grille from the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz X-Class by Carlex Design offers Maybach looks and interior
For those of you who are not aware, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class is exactly the same model as the Nissan Navara, except it is dressed in fancier clothes while featuring some additional technology too. Also, the X-Class has been offering a more powerful six cylinder diesel engine since March.
Since there isn’t much of a difference between the two, there are some customers who are not willing to spend quite a bit more on the Mercedes-Benz X-Class. Instead, they opt for the more mainstream version. Nonetheless, the world’s largest aftermarket tuner, Brabus, has created a tuning package for this truck that might convince them to reconsider.
Brabus has developed a full-on exterior and interior kit for the X Class, giving it a sportier look while improving on its practicality. Among the add-ons are new LED markers built into the front bumper and another lighting module with twelve diodes on the roof, which is activated with the high beam. The revised fascia then gets a new grille design, and in the back is a set of chrome tailpipes.Read the entire article Brabus tunes the Mercedes-Benz X-Class truck to be sportier, more practical!
Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil the new X350d 4Matic X-Class at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. It was back in July 2017 when the brand first premiered its pickup which utilizes the chassis, as well as certain body panels, of the Nissan Navara. However this version is set out to be the most expensive one yet.
This new model has a six-cylinder engine and the 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive. Specifically, the new X-Class is fitted with the turbodiesel 3.0-liter V6 engine that benefits from the common-rail direct injection. With this, it can deliver an output of 258 hp (190 kW) with top torque measured to be 406 lb.-ft. (550 Nm) and available at 1,4000 rpm and up to 3,200 rpm.
As a comparison, the highest specification of the biturbodiesel V6 engine fitted in the Volkswagen Amarok is only able to deliver 224 hp (165 kW). In addition, while the amount of torque is similar, it is available beginning 1,5000 rpm. Paired to this engine is the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission having steering wheel shift paddles as well as the ECO start/stop function. This transmission has been modified to allow it to transmit 60% of the available torque to the vehicle's rear wheels to result in a rear-based configuration, highly suitable especially for a pickup truck.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz unveils X350d 4Matic X-Class at 2018 Geneva Motor Show
We know that in June this year, the third generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will be available in dealerships in Europe. Finally, the automaker has shared real details on what we can expect from the new commercial van.
Aside from that, interested buyers in Germany can already place their orders on one of these for a base price of 19,990 euros before tax ($24,530 at current exchange rates). Deliveries for this electrified eSprinter are set to start in 2019.
Though the current version of the Sprinter is available in a rear wheel drive and an all wheel drive option, customers will now be offered in a front wheel drive version of the van.Read the entire article 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter can be configured for any type of job
Mercedes-Benz is building on the success of the Marco Polo travel vans by offering more diversity with their newest offering -- the camper van conversion, catering to the more adventurous crowd. This new package does not directly come from Mercedes. Instead, it is the product of Tischer, a German company that specializes in converting pickups into recreational vehicles.
If you check out the German tuner’s page online, you would see a number of similar conversions for different brands and models such as the Land Rover Defender, the Volkswagen Amarok, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Isuzu D-Max, Ford Ranger, and to the Dodge Ram. As you know, Mercedes’ X-Class is somewhat based on the Navara, much like the Renault Alaskan. And that is why it should not come as a surprise that Tischer is adding the X-Class to its lineup.
The cabin is designed like a cove and the inside area measures 1.5 meters wide with nearly two meters of headroom. It offers plenty of space and includes a kitchen with a three-burner gas stove for cooking while on the road. It has enough space for three seats, which can easily be transformed into an extra bed when needed. The best part is that the entire cabin is demountable.Read the entire article Tischer converts Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup truck into a posh camper van
That there’s bad blood between Mercedes-Benz and BMW doesn’t surprise anyone. The fierce competition between the two brands may have stemmed from the fact that they both have German roots, and have been in the automotive industry for a very long time. Nevertheless, it’s quite unusual for either automaker to bash the other in public.
During the Frankfurt Motor Show, Motoring witnessed Hendrik von Kunheim, BMW Senior Vice President for Asia and South Africa, criticize Mercedes’ new X-Class pickup calling it “appalling”, while being interviewed by the Australian media.
Furthermore, von Kunheim said that he was very disappointed when he saw the pickup at Geneva a couple of months ago, adding that “they can do better”. Though he did say that Mercedes-Benz builds fantastic cars, he said that this particular one was a “disappointment.”Read the entire article BMW executive describes the Mercedes-Benz X-Class as a disappointment
Hey hottie, care for a ride? Well, unfortunately (or fortunately for you) this low slung pickup truck is just a product of a person’s creative imagination. WinningDesigns, an artist based in Brisbane, Queensland Australia had thought about dressing up the Mercedes-Benz X-Class with a new outfit. Out of all the many choices, instead, he chose a “low-rider look” and so goes the self-styled “Slammed Mercedes-Benz X-Class”.
Let’s see…Is there a new bumper in place? Check. How about a new grille? Check. Side skirts? Check. Bigger wheels? Check. Roof bars? Nah.
The thing is, a low-riding pickup with the star emblem doesn’t appeal to everyone. Despite it being technically a Nissan Navarra bearing the Mercedes symbol. Any vehicle class with the classy Mercedes logo in our opinion should be better off left in its stock form. But we’d allow a few exceptions among the AMG-wearing coupes and cabriolets. But as they say, to each his own, so there it is, a Slammed Mercedes-Benz X-Class. What a rare sight to behold indeed.Read the entire article Hot or Not: Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup is rendered much lower, customized
Have you seen anything like this yet? Or the better question would be, do you want to see something like this made? With this rendering, a Behance designer amps up the ante of the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class following a Maybach digital transformation. Russian digital artist Nikita Akysonov equipped Mercedes Benz’s pickup truck with massive air intakes, a new bumper plus a new grille with horizontal chrome design and flashy new LED headlights. At the back end of the pickup, a handful of new equipment certainly won’t go unnoticed too such as the new bumper, new tailgate and redesigned taillights in LED.
As standard, the Mercedes-Benz X-Class has been built as a tough performance pickup truck characterized by efficient handling and drivability These are achieved using Mercedes’ comfort suspension with coil springs on both axles, front independent wheel suspension, a multi link suspension at the rear and a ladder type frame. With its advanced design, the new pickup attains both being rugged and stylish.
The thing is, Daimler considers the X-Class to be the first pickup that provides superb performance both on road and off-road. In fact, Mercedes-Benz already has extensive knowledge in developing some of the toughest off-roaders and commercial vehicles like the G-Class and Unimog. Taking this into account, we can consider the new Volkswagen Amarok with V6 TDI engine to be its closest market rival. This is true at least for medium sized pickups with extreme off-road capabilities.Read the entire article Is this Mercedes-Maybach X-Class too over-the-top?
Would you have ever imagined a Mercedes-Benz developing an upscale pickup? We first saw this last October as a concept car and now, the production model of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class has been revealed. The pickup comes with a number of engine options, proven chassis and has a subtler look than the concept car.
It shares the same platform as the Nissan Navara and Renault Alaskan, and it is said to be a part of Mercedes-Benz and Nissan's joint development program. The former promises that this will have a lot more improvements compared to the more mainstream models.
2018 Mercedes-Benz X-Class should be in German dealerships in November, and will be shipped out to Australia and South Africa next year, followed by South America in 2019. It will have a starting price of €37,294 including VAT. The company has no plans on bringing the upscale pickup to the United States just yet.Read the entire article 2018 Mercedes-Benz X-Class makes its official debut
Mercedes-Benz Vans has yet to officially unveil the production version of its X-Class luxury pickup truck, but quite a number of interested customers are asking the German carmaker whether it would be possible to place an order. But if you are living in the United Kingdom, you could now reserve a new X-Class pickup premium truck from Mercedes-Benz.
Mercedes-Benz Vans UK has now opened the reservations book for the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class, thanks to the “phenomenally early demand” for the premium pickup truck. This means that potential UK customers would just need to shell out some cash to have their names listed on the reservation list for the UK-spec Mercedes X-Class. Mercedes Vans UK has pegged the reservation fee at around £1,000 (more or less $1,248 or €1,162). When Mercedes finally and officially launches the sale of the X-Class, those who have their names on the list will be first to order the premium pickup truck.
However, since this is just a reservation list for the X-Class, UK customers who think that the premium pickup truck isn’t worth their money could back out from the roll. Of course, they wouldn’t have to worry about their reservation money since Mercedes Vans UK is prepared to refund the entire amount should they decide to withdraw from owning the UK-spec plush pickup truck.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz Vans UK now accepting reservations for the new X-Class premium pickup truck
Sorry folks, the AMG-fied Mercedes-Benz X-Class will remain in the fantasy world. According to some news, the AMG big boss has finally spoken up about why an AMG X-Class is not going to happen. So those who have been wishing to get more out of the 3L turbo diesel V6 engine need to wake up from this delusion.
Okay, so the recently unveiled Mercedes-Benz X-Class Concept will not have the AMG treatment. But, there must be a good reason behind this. Mercedes –AMG’s Tobias Moers clarified that the production-ready pickup truck will not be equipped with high-performance upgrades for three main reasons.
The obvious and most important one of all is the market. Slated to go on sale next year, the new pickup has yet to establish its own footprint. But since the X-Class will be marketed in Australia, maybe then we can see how it goes from there? Still, Moers believes that the demand for an AMG upgrade should come from other places as well. And as far as they can tell, it’s not going to happen.Read the entire article Confirmed: There will be no AMG-fied Mercedes-Benz X-Class
Every time Mercedes-Benz comes out with a new model, it is expected that AMG is likely to come up to with a high-performance version of it. For example, with the unveiling of the Concept X-Class and the fact that a production version of this model is expected to be released by the end of 2017, it did not take the Affalterbach-based company very long to have a version that showed more muscle. However, it now appears that it is not only Motor1 who is looking into this possibility as X-Tomi Design has also come out with its own rendition of the X63 AMG.
For those not familiar, Mercedes-Benz’s Concept X-Class was a truck that had the luxury legacy of the company combined with the standard truck utility. What this meant is that it was a truck that displayed style and can be used on the job but at the same time function as family transport. As a result, the design of the Concept X-Class had the qualities of the luxury models as well as those of its standard pickups.
Now while Mercedes-Benz revealed that the X-Class will be powered with the V6 diesel engine, the X-Tomi version is imagined to have the biturbo 4.0-liter V8 engine from AMG. Though this particular engine can be offered with different tuning, the version in the AMG GT R is likely the best option for this considering the 577 horsepower (430 kW) output.Read the entire article Hard-core rendering of Mercedes-Benz X63 AMG is inspiring
Many have been anticipating Mercedes-Benz Vans’ newest luxury pickup truck, the X-Class. While Mercedes-Benz has yet to reveal the official production version of the X-Class, it was kind enough to provide a good glimpse of the new pickup with the Concept X-Class in Stockholm.
The new X-Class pickup should allow Mercedes-Benz Vans to expand its lineup with a fourth model series and become the first premium carmaker to enter the mid-size pickup segment when it is launched into the market in late 2017.
By the time of the launch, Daimler AG plans to invest high nine figures (in Euro) in the new model series. Mercedes-Benz Vans plans to introduce the new midsize pickup in key markets, like Argentina, Australia Brazil, Europe, New Zealand and South Africa.Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz unveils two versions of Concept X-Class in Stockholm
The first thing one notices about the heavy-duty Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cab Chassis is its impressive size. At 95 inches tall and 20 feet in length, it simply towers over other lesser vehicles and its powerful presence alone dominates everything in sight.
Its imposing hulk correctly suggests the incredible power it possesses with a payload capacity of 6,400 lbs. and a towing capacity of almost 4 tons. Indeed, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Cab Chassis is a capable machine and can be depended on to handle even the toughest task.
Imagine what an expert customizer such as RENNtech can do to this already overpowered base model. According to Bernie Glaser, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Vans in the USA, Mercedes-Benz’s collaboration with RENNtech to create the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Extreme resulted to a “super-strength, unlimited hard-working capability and an aggressive design.”Read the entire article Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Extreme Concept gets an upgrade from RENNtech
Daimler announced that production of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van will be done in North America, as it tries to improve competitiveness by shifting output from its home turf Germany. Daimler ships Sprinter kits from Germany to Ladson, South Carolina, where the van will be assembled.
Volker Mornhinweg, head of the Mercedes' vans division, said in a statement, that the company can cater better to the growing demand for large vans in North America economically only if it builds them locally in the NAFTA region. He remarked that Daimler will decide on the exact site for the Sprinter’s production in the NAFTA region in the next few months.
Due to high import tariffs, Daimler has been building US-bound Sprinters in Duesseldorf and Ludwigsfelde, both in Germany. The vans are partially disassembled in Germany and then reassembled in Ladson – a time-consuming process.Read the entire article Next-gen Mercedes Sprinter to be produced in North America
Mercedes-Benz is introducing the latest model of its widely acclaimed large van – the new Sprinter. The Sprinter has been the face of innovations in its segment, setting new standards. The latest model aims to continue what has been started, as it features five new safety systems, engines that comply with future Euro VI emissions standard, and a very impressive appearance.
New Sprinter is so far the most efficient vehicle in its segment, as it only consumes 6.3 liters of fuel per 100 km. Euro VI drastically cuts the emission limits for nitrogen oxides (NOx), total hydrocarbons (THC), and particulate mass, and the new Sprinter is the first van in the world to comply with standard in all of its engine variants.
The van achieved this feat through the help of its BlueTEC engine and SCR technology that injects AdBlue into the exhaust gas. This technology has been tried and tested in over 100,000 commercial vehicles from Mercedes-Benz. This achievement was made without sacrificing the performance of the diesel engines -- four- and six-cylinder of which still provide outputs ranging from 70 kW (95 hp) to 140 kW (190 hp).Read the entire article 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter continues innovation and tradition
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter plans to dominate in the large van segment by making it offer several product improvements in spring 2012. It was subjected to the tough, practical testing that highlights the primary requirements of safety, economy and comfort. The Sprinter is the first van in the world to come with a seven-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
It is equipped with a BlueEFFICIENCY package and a higher axle ratio that enhances fuel efficiency even further. The functionality of the standard-fit ESP has been enhanced. Just like all new parts of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, these new features are required to be able to endure extreme testing in the harsh conditions near the Arctic Circle. The safety standard of the Sprinter was raised by Mercedes-Benz to a higher level.
Since the start of 2012, the van has been fitted with a new range of ADAPTIVE ESP with added functions. The Brake Disk Wipe is one of its new features. When driving on a wet surface, this system creates a low level of brake pressure on a cyclical basis.Read the entire article 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter receives minor updates
