2018 Mercedes-Benz V-Class Night Edition model gets AMG upgrades

Mercedes-Benz has been working on refreshing its people-hauling V-Class, which has racked up more than 100,000 deliveries since 2014. But before the new model finally goes on sale sometime next year, the German automaker is giving the current model one last special edition to keep customers interested.

It is called the V-Class Night Edition and it comes with a handful of improvements care of the AMG department. But don’t get too excited because they aren’t doing any improvements to the engine. Power comes from the automaker’s familiar 2.1 liter turbodiesel engine with 190 horsepower (140 kilowatts) and 325 pound-feet (440 Newton metres) of torque. According to Mercedes, the average fuel consumption is between 6.8 and 7.5 liters per 100 kilometers, or 34.6-31.4 miles per gallon with CO2 emissions of 179-199 grams per kilometer.

As for the exterior upgrades, there’s the new AMG front and rear aprons, new radiator grille with two louvres in high gloss black, black AMG sourced 19 inch alloy wheels with seven twin spoke design, Edition badges on the front wings, and tinted rear windows.

Carlex Design shows off tuned Mercedes Benz V-Class and Vito vans

These days, car modifications are no longer mere extensions of the owner’s status or personality. Evidently the new set-up includes a new set of alloy wheels with five twin spoke design and a visibly clear white body paint with green accoutrements both on the side sills and on the bumpers.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class by Mansory is a game changer

Remember the first time someone put a television screen inside their car? People got crazy over that, and almost everyone wanted one for themselves. The V-Class MPV by Mercedes-Benz will be presented at the upcoming International Motor Show in Frankfurt. The automaker is widening its target customers by adding more highlights to this model. This model can be given the AMG Line equipment package starting in the end of 2015.

Its interior also receives the AMG treatment. It has air vents in silver chrome, carbon-fibre look trim, a sports pedal cluster in brushed aluminium, and a black headlining.

This marks the first time for an AMG Line to be available for MPVs from Mercedes-Benz Vans. This AMG Line is offered for all engine variants and body lengths of the V-Class and V-Class AVANTGARDE. These new features improve the V-Class’s already high level of practicality and comfort.

Mercedes-Benz officially introduced today the 2014 V-Class, the youngest and largest member of its automobile family. At its market launch, the 2014 V-Class will be available with the cutting-edge 2.1-liter turbodiesel engine offered in three output ratings: 100 kW (136 hp) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque for the V200 CDI, 120 kW (163 hp) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque for the V220 CDI, and 140 kW (190 hp) and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft) of torque for the V250 BlueTec.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the 2014 V-Class can be ordered with a short or a longwheelbase (3,200 mm and 3,430 mm) and will be available in three different lengths ranging from 4,895 mm and 5,370 mm. As expected, the 2014 V-Class comes with new features such as the Crosswind Assist and ATTENTION ASSIST as standard.

Furthermore, the V-Class features optional systems such as a 360-degree camera, active parking assistance and the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission. Inside, we find the new touchpad for operating all of the telematics functions in the vehicle.

Mercedes-Benz may roll out its new V-class minivan and Vito commercial vehicle in the United States in 2015, company insiders told Automotive News. The new minivan and commercial vehicle are set to go on sale in spring in Europe. When it arrives in the US, the V class minivan would be targeted against the Chrysler Town & Country, Honda Odyssey, Nissan Quest and Toyota Sienna.

The V-class would be the only rear-wheel-drive offering in the minivan segment and would be a bit larger than its US rivals.  The Vito commercial van, meanwhile, would be targeted against the Ford Transit and the Chevrolet City Express/Nissan NV 200 sibling models. Both the V class and the Vito are underpinned by the same rwd platform, with all-wheel drive available.

The vehicles will be powered by either a four-cylinder engine or a six-cylinder powerplant. The V class will be carlike and have a more upscale interior than the Viano van it is replacing. It will boast of wood decor, ambient lighting and many electronic features.

The first photos of the new Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV interior emerged today on the web. For those who don’t know, the new V-Class will replace the current Mercedes-Benz Viano but also the R-Class and it is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2014, after its debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.

Codenamed W447, the new V-Class will be offered for those who have large families or for shuttle services. Regarding the design of its interior, we can see a new touchpad that comes, the well-known Mercedes-Benz COMAND infotainment system, leather steering wheel, wood inserts, brown leather upholstery and new metallic accents. Moreover, the V-Class will feature new safety systems found on the new E-Class or the S-Class flagship sedan.

The Mercedes V-Class essentially redefines the MPV segment. Thanks to its design and an array of innovations, the new V-Class is setting new standards in the segment. It could comfortably accommodate up to eight occupants while offering high levels of functionality and safety. Furthermore, the V-Class boasts of a high-class appeal.
