2009 Mini Cabrio John Cooper Works (JCW): details and pricing revealed

Details of a Mini Cabrio John Cooper Works (JCW) have been made available in anticipation of the Geneva motor Show next month. It is patterned after the latest Mark II Mini Cabrio, but the JCW version puts in more style and performances.
The Mini Cabrio JCW comes with 211 hp (157 kW) of max motive power, which makes it comparable with other models in the range and about 40 hp (30 kW) more than the Mini Cooper S, which comes with a peak output of 172 hp (128 kW).

Maximum torque for the Mini Cabrio JCW is 192 lb-ft (260 Nm), which is attained at between 1,850 rpm and 5,500 rpm. Moreover, an additional 15 lb-ft (20 Nm) of torque can be achieved through an over-boost function. The increase in horsepower is attributed to a twin-scroll turbocharger and a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder powerplant.

The new Mini Cabrio JCW comes with a ceiling speed of 146 mph and an acceleration rate of 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds. The Mini Cabrio JCW JCW is equipped with a lightweight but stronger powerplant with a bigger air intake and an exhaust that was exclusively developed for the JCW vehicles.
