Young apprentices create the MINI Paceman Adventure compact pickup

Although it sounds a little bit crazy, a group of young apprentices and their instructors created the MINI Paceman Adventure a.k.a. a MINI pick-up based on the Cooper S Paceman. The car was transformed from a coupe into a two seater with a pickup style cargo area. As you can see from the photos, the passenger compartment ends behind the front seats, while on the top there is a solid roof rack that accommodates a spare wheel.

Compared with the standard Paceman, the Paceman Adventure comes with an extended ground clearance and much higher front and rear clearance ramps. In addition, new lights were mounted on the front cross member of the roof rack, while a new set of special off-road tyres with wide and deep treads complete the looks.

The new MINI Paceman Adventure comes with the exclusive Jungle Green metallic paintwork, introduced for the first time on the 2015 MINI Paceman Facelift.

2015 MINI Paceman Facelift arrives at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show

At the 2014 New York Auto Show, MINI introduced the 2015 Countryman Facelift, but today at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show the British company owned by the BMW Group brought the 2015 Paceman Facelift. Just like its four-door brother, the 2015 Paceman receives a number of minor exterior styling updates such as a redesigned grille, new alloy wheels, as well as optional headlamps with LED function for the daytime running lamps and fog lamps.

Two exterior paint finishes were added for the 2015MY: Jungle Green Metallic and Midnight Grey Metallic. The interior was also improved with new anthracite coloured instruments and chrome applications, as well as newly designed chrome applications for the ventilation controls. The MINI all-wheel drive system ALL4 will be available in the MINI Cooper Countryman and the MINI Cooper Paceman starting July 2013. This brings the total number of MINI models equipped with ALL4 all-wheel drive system to ten. Coming as standard for the MINI Cooper Countryman ALL4 and the MINI Cooper Paceman ALL4 is a 6-speed manual transmission, with a 6-speed automatic gearbox coming as an option.

ALL4 all-wheel drive system promises improved traction, enhanced grip and better driving stability and ability for MINI drivers, helping them remain in control of their vehicles even when cruising through snow or slippery surfaces. Based on an electromagnetic center differential, the MINI ALL4 distributes drive force at continuously variable levels between the front and rear axle.

ALL4’s electronic control system is integrated directly in the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) control unit, allowing it to direct drive torque quickly and precisely to where it can be effectively transformed into forward thrust.

MINI has donated one of its vehicle models to the Life Ball charity event for the 13th straight year. For this year, the carmaker donated a MINI Paceman styled by internationally renowned designer Roberto Cavalli. The world-renowned Italian fashion designer and his wife unveiled the Cavalli-styled MINI Paceman a few hours before the AIDS charity event on May 25, 2013 at the official Life Ball Press Conference.

The Life Ball MINI 2013 was placed on the hammer as part of the AIDS Solidarity Gala in Vienna’s Hofburg Palace. Proceeds of the auction will go to projects committed to fighting AIDS.

The Life Ball MINI 2013 indeed carries Cavalli’s unique designing style. Cavalli enhanced the exterior of the MINI Paceman with an exclusive color – which goes between black and brown depending on lighting -- that could only be found in his own fleet of vehicles.

MINI is donating a Paceman, the youngest and seventh model in the MINI family, to the Vienna Life Ball. The proceeds will go to projects that prevent HIV and AIDS. This will be the 13th year in a row that the automaker has supported the auction. But before the Paceman is sold off, it will be given an overhaul by international fashion designer Roberto Cavalli.

The MINI Paceman joins the likes of global labels like DSQUARED², Diesel and Missoni that have converted a lineup of MINI models into amazing one-offs. To date, the Life Ball MINI auctions have raised more than half a million Euros in total proceeds. Cavalli is taking on the first stylish, urban Sports Activity Coupé with the MINI Paceman.

It has a sporty design and stunning coupé silhouette but it’s targeted at individuals who want to make a statement with the car they’re driving. The unusual style of Cavalli is an ideal match to that of the Life Ball MINI. His creative exterior design features iridescent paintwork that glistens from black to brown depending on the amount of light.

It’s expected that when an all-new Mini model is presented, a John Cooper Works (JCW) version will follow. So it comes as no surprise that the Paceman, which made its debut at the Paris Motor Show last September, has been followed in Detroit by a Paceman JCW.

At Mini’s revised stand, there is one parallel to the floor while there’s another one perpendicular to it, linked to an asphalt road that rises up above the Mini stand.

The two are done in chili red and black, chili red roofs and mirror caps which are exclusive to JCW models. A Mini executive said during the press conference for the Paceman JCW that it offers on “the promise of a high-octane race feeling, even on the streets of the urban jungle.” It can deliver 208 hp and could go from zero to 60mph in 6.5 seconds.

If you are not satisfied by the new MINI Paceman, you should take a look as this version, as you will change your opinion about this new vehicle: ladies and gentlemen, this is the MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Paceman.

As expected, the car uses the same engine found on the MINI John Cooper Works (JCW) Countryman and we are talking about a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine delivering 218 hp and 280 Nm of torque (207 lb-ft) between 1,900 and 5,000 rpm (this can be increased to 300 Nm of toque (221 lb-ft) for short periods between 2,100 and 4,500 rpm using the overboost function).

With these numbers the Paceman JCW sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 226 km/h or 140 mph for the manual version and 224 km/h (239 mph) for the automatic version.

The Mini Paceman has a price tag of $23,900 (which includes destination costs), making it $1200 more expensive than the Countryman. The Mini Paceman is basically the two-door version of the Countryman. The price was revealed at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show where Mini had on display the Clubvan, the latest member of the Mini portfolio.

Paceman becomes a part of the Mini lineup shortly after its bigger sibling, which entered the family for the 2012 model year. A 121-hp 1.8-liter I-4 powers the base model but it can be raised to 181 hp if the customers opt for the racy Paceman Cooper S, which is priced $3600 higher. For just $1700 more, consumers can get all-wheel drive for the S model to create the $29,200 Paceman S ALL4.

Mini claims that the Paceman will keep its go-kart-like handling but it loses some of its distinctive Mini features as certain center controls have been transferred to the door panels.

The Paceman name or design is not new to MINI fans as the British manufacturer now owned by Bmw revealed it in a concept form back in 2010. So, what is the new MINI Paceman? It is a three-door coupe version of the Countryman! So, the design is not new and as a result we will talk about what’s under the hood.

According to the official info, the MINI Paceman will offer a choice of two petrol engines and two diesel engines. The 1.6-liter petrol engines found on the MINI Cooper S Pacemand and the MINI Cooper Paceman are based on Bmw’s Valvetronic technology, capable to optimise both the engine’s responses and its efficiency.

The 1.6-liter engine found on the MINI Cooper S Paceman delivers 184 hp and a maximum torque of 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) and is capable to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h / 62 mph in 7.5 seconds (automatic: 7.8 seconds) on the way to a top speed of 217 km/h / 135 mph (212 km/h / 132 mph).

In an official announcement, Mini confirmed that the two-door Mini Countryman crossover will be named the Paceman. Mini executives unveiled the name at the beginning of the “Mini Takes the States” event, a coast-to-coast road rally from New York City to Los Angeles. The Paceman is the seventh Mini to enter the lineup.

At this point, the details are very scarce but it’s expected that the Paceman would originally be offered in Cooper and Cooper S forms with a 121-hp 1.6-liter I-4 making 114 lb-ft of torque, or a turbocharged 181-hp 1.6-liter I-4 with 177 lb-ft of torque. It’s probable that a more powerful John Cooper Works edition will enter the range a year or two later.

Similar to the Countryman, the Paceman will be offered with front- or all-wheel drive, and provide six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Magna Steyr will build the new MINI Paceman, the coupe version of the well-known MINI Countryman, at least according to German newspaper Kleine Zeitung. Magna Steyr builds the MINI Countryman in Graz and it appears that it has won the contract to build the two-door "sports activity coupe,", said BMW development head Klaus Draeger quoted by Kleine Zeitung newspaper. "Yes, we will have the Paceman built in Graz too," he told the paper.

"As the auto is technically based on the Countryman it makes sense to go to Graz for this as well." According to the same sources, the new MINI Paceman production will start by the end of 2012, which means that the sales will start in early 2013.

As you remember, Bmw officially confirmed the production of the Paceman Concept earlier this month at the 2011 Detroit Auto Show.

The MINI brand stages its relaunch in North America by revealing the Paceman Concept, which seeks to create a new category of cars, by combining a sporty, masculine look, some versatility and coupe styling, with the dimensions of the four-door MINI Countryman. At a glance, the Paceman Concept appears to be a rival to the 2012 Land Rover Evoque.

MINI said that the concept is the first Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) in the small car segment that mixes lifestyle elements with premium quality.

These photos prove that the car has the familiar MINI family front end; however, it has new headlights with chrome surrounds that extend far into the front wings. In addition, the Paceman Concept features a new front grille design inspired by the Cooper S Countryman.

He said that this vehicle will come after sales of the Countryman coupe begin later this year and after the Roadster, which will start selling in 2012. The Paceman is built on the Countryman platform.

Robertson said that the Paceman will soon enter the engineering phase and that in the next few months, the company will be able to determine how soon it could be launched.

It appears that car manufacturers can’t wait to reveal their new concepts for the 2011 Detroit Auto Show and some of them decided that it is time. After GM showed the Sierra All Terain HD Concept, Bmw’s MINI brand revealed the Paceman Concept, a new vehicle that marks the relaunch of MINI brand in North America.

The new MINI Paceman Concept promises to create a new category of car (although it seems to be a rival to the 2012 Land Rover Evoque), combining a sporty, masculine appearance, versatility and coupe looks with the dimensions of the four-door MINI Countryman.

According to the manufacturer, the concept is the first Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) in the small car segment that blends lifestyle elements with premium quality. As you can see from the photos, the car carries the familiar MINI family front end, but features new headlights with chrome surrounds that extend far into the front wings.
