The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid wasn’t the only vehicle unveiled at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show as the South Korean manufacturer also brought the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. This model uses a downsized 2.0-liter Nu GDI four-cylinder engine that delivers 154 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque, bolted to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Moreover, the vehicle carries an electric motor that produces 38 kW (51 hp) and 151 lb-ft of torque, as well as a lithium-polymer battery pack with a capacity of 1.62 kWh, which is located under the trunk floor.

The C450 AMG Sport wasn’t the only model unveiled by Mercedes-Benz at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) as the German brand also brought the 2016 C350 Plug-In Hybrid. This new model uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 211 hp (155 kW) and 350 Nm of torque. In addition, there is an electric motor with an output of 60 kW and 340 Nm of torque.
The total output delivered by the hybrid system is 279 hp (205 kW) and 600 Nm of torque. Bolted to a 7-speed automatic transmission (7G Tronic Plus), the hybrid module pushes the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds (estate model in 6.2 seconds), while top speed is limited at 250 km/h or 155 mph (246 km/h or 152 mph for the estate model).

The 2015 Detroit Auto Show was the place chosen by Hyundai to launch its first plug-in hybrid model, the 2016 Sonata Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). This new model uses a 2.0-liter Nu four-cylinder GDI engine producing 154 hp and 140 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a 50kW electric motor. The total output delivered by the system is 202 hp at 6,000 rpm.
Moreover, the Sonata Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) uses a six-speed automatic transmission with Hyundai’s Transmission-Mounted Electrical Device (TMED) as well as a 9.8 kWh lithium polymer battery pack. According to Hyundai, the battery can store enough energy to offer an all-electric range of up to 22 miles.
Sonata PHEV is expected to deliver 93 MPGe combined in EV mode, 38 mpg in the city, 43 mpg on the highway and 40 mpg combined. Besides the all-new 911 (991) Targa 4 GTS, Porsche also revealed at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) the new Cayenne Turbo S, the top model of the sporty SUV model series. The new Cayenne Turbo S uses a 4.8-liter V8 biturbo engine that delivers 570 hp (419 kW) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque.
As a result, it is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds, 0.4 seconds faster than the previous model, while top speed is 280 km/h (176 mph). As you may know already, the Cayenne Turbo S is offered with plenty of standard equipment and the latest version follows the same recipe and offers standard Porsche Composite Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) with 420 mm front brake discs and, for the first time, 10-piston calipers.
The rear brakes have 370 mm discs and four-piston calipers. The highly anticipated 2016 Acura NSX supercar arrived today at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and as expected, the new vehicle looks absolutely amazing. Clearly inspired by the NSX concepts that we’ve seen, the new 2016 Acura NSX is powered by an all-new mid-mounted, 75-degrees, DOHC V6 engine with twin turbochargers bolted to an Acura-developed 9-speed DCT transmission.
In addition, there is a rear direct-drive electric motor located between the engine and transmission, which supports acceleration, braking and transmission shifting performance. Furthermore, the NSX’s front wheels are driven by twin independent high-output electric motors, which provide an instantaneous “zero delay” launch performance and handling response.
Handling is also enhanced by the Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) system. We already knew that Jaguar was working hard on crossover and today, the new vehicle also received a name: it will be called the F-Pace. Clearly inspired by the C-X17 sports crossover concept, the new Jaguar F-Pace will take on vehicles such as the Audi Q5, Porsche Macan and the BMW X3.
As you can see, the F-Pace will face a tough segment, but we expect to see an interesting vehicle because Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum says that it will be company’s family sports car. In addition, Jaguar Land Rover global sales director Andy Goss said that the F-Pace will become one of the most innovative Jaguars they have ever developed.
According to the British manufacturer, the F-Pace will be introduced later this year, but not too many details were shared. This is it folks, Lexus has just unveiled the all-new 2016 GS F high-performance sedan and promised us that it will bring it to the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). Just like the RC F, the new 2016 Lexus GS F is powered by the naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine that generates 467 hp at 7,100 rpm and 389 lb-ft (527 Nm) of torque at 4,800-5,600 rpm.
As expected, the engine is bolted to an 8-speed automatic transmission. As standard, the GS F will arrive with Lexus’ innovative Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD), featuring three operating modes: Standard, which provides a balance of agility and firmness; Slalom, emphasizing nimble steering response and agility; Track, which emphasizes control during high-speed circuit driving.
There are no details regarding the performances of the new vehicle, but we do expect it to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 5.0 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 250 km/h or 155 mph. The 2015 Audi A3 US-spec made its debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, looking ready to join the Q5 and Q7 on the US market. Available this fall, the 2015 Audi Q3 will be offered as standard with the 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine rated at 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque.
The engine will be mated to the standard six-speed Tiptronic transmission which will transfer the power to the front wheels or to the optional Audi Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. As an option, the company will offer the Audi drive select system, which will allow drivers to adjust handling and response at the touch of a button. Three drive modes will be available: Comfort, Dynamic and Auto.

The 2015 Lexus RC F Coupe made its debut in the Motor City at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and as expected, the vehicle looks even better in the flesh. According to Lexus, the RC F Coupe uses a 5.0-liter 32-valve V8 engine that provides increased maximum power at higher engine rpm than previously possible.
For the first time, the RC F Coupe uses the Atkinson cycle at cruising speeds for better fuel economy and switches to Otto cycle at higher rpm. The 5.0-liter V8 generates more than 450 hp and more than 383 lb-ft of torque. Using an eight-speed Sports Direct Shift (SPDS) transmission, the 2015 Lexus RC F Coupe promises to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) faster than the IS F (4.6 seconds), while the top speed will be electronically limited at 168 mph or 270 km/h.
The RC F uses a Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD), which is a first for Lexus, in order to increase driving performance. The TVD has three operating modes: standard, for a balance between performance and stability; slalom, for emphasis on nimble steering wheel; track, for helping with consistent stability. As you may know already, Cadillac unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show the 2015 ATS Coupe, a vehicle that will take on cars such as the BMW 4-Series Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. The new Cadillac ATS Coupe will hit the dealerships in the United States by summer and will be the first production vehicle that will get the revised Cadillac emblem featuring a wider and more intricate crest.
Two powertrain options will be available, same used by the sedan: a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 272 hp and 205 lb-ft of torque and the bigger 3.6-liter V6 that generates 321 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque.

BMW launched the 2014 M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show and as expected it made quite a buzz. For those who still don’t know, both vehicle are powered by a high-revving six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology that generates a maximum output of 431 hp and peak torque of 550 Nm (406 lb-ft).
With the new engine, the 2014 BMW M3 Sedan and the M4 Coupe hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.1 seconds with the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission. According to BMW, one of the primary objectives in the development of the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe was to ensure that the new sports cars will offer impressive race track capability.

Besides the M3 Sedan and the M4 Coupe, BMW also brought at the Detroit Auto Show the 2014 M235i Coupe, one of the latest member of the M Performance Automobile Company. The new M235i Coupe is powered by a six-cylinder in-line engine featuring the well-known M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology that delivers a maximum output of 326 hp (240 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque.
With these numbers the small coupe hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.0 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph or 250 km/h. As an option, the BMW M235i Coupe can be fitted with an eight-speed Sports automatic transmission, complete with Launch Control. With Launch Control activated, the M235i Coupe hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.8 seconds.
Still, the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) due to safety reasons. According to BMW, the M235i Coupe has an average fuel consumption in the EU test cycle of 8.1 liters per 100 km (34.9 mpg imp). The all-new 2015 Corvette Z06 made its world debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. According to General Motors’ North America president Mark Reuss, the new Z06 promises to take on the most exotic supercars in the world in terms of performance, technology and design.
And, we actually agree Mark Reuss as the new Corvette Z06 is quite impressive. If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days, we have to tell you that the 2015 Corvette Z06 is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates 625 hp and 635 pounds-feet of torque. This means 37 percent more power than the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
GM will offer the Z06 as standard with a seven-speed manual transmission but also with an optional new eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, for those who want more. As expected, Ford brought the all-new 2015 Mustang GT and Convertible at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. Set to go on sale later this year, the 2015 Mustang GT made its debut in Motor City wearing a yellow color and we must admit that it looks quite impressive.

Ok, we have to admit that we can’t get enough of the 2014 Porsche 911 (991) Targa 4 and that’s why we are bringing you some live photos from the Motor City. Wearing a blue color that it is simply stunning, the Porsche 991 Targa is a modern classic and the first to combine the classic Targa concept with a new state-of-the-art roof technology.
Moreover, the new 991 Targa brings back the characteristic wide bar in place of the B-pillars, a movable roof section above the front seats and a wraparound rear window with no C-pillar. But unlike the classic models, the roof section above the front seats on the new Targa can be opened and closed at a push of a button.
When activated, the new fully automatic roof system tows the convertible top behind the rear seat system, providing a real spectacle. Subaru officially unveiled the all-new 2015 WRX STI at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Showing the well-known WR Blue Paint and the well-known gold BBS forged alloy wheels. Under the hood, there is a 2.5-liter turbocharged/intercooled 4-cylinder Boxer engine that generates 305 hp at 6,000 rpm and 290 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.
The engine is bolted with a specially reinforced 6-speed manual transmission, which includes an STI short-throw shifter in the Launch Edition model. Incline Start Assist can momentarily prevent the car from rolling backward when being driven away from a stop on an incline.
Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) powertrain management system allows the driver to choose from three selectable modes - “Intelligent,” “Sport” and “Sport Sharp” – using just a rotary dial on the center console. Regarding the design, the 2015 WRX STI shows a bolder look, with narrower headlights, a hexagonal grille, LED low-beam headlights. Acura unveiled today the 2015 Acura TLX Prototype at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. As expected, this new concept car previews the all-new 2015 Acura TLX and according to the official press release it was developed around the theme "Red Carpet Athlete" in order to deliver a compelling blend of luxury refinement and sports-sedan athleticism.
The new TLX will join the ILX compact luxury sedan and the RLX luxury performance sedan as the first vehicle in company’s lineup.
Shown in an Athletic Red Pearl, the TLX Prototype has a sporting character, which is highlighted by the low and wide stance. To be campaigned by long time Acura Motorsports partner RealTime Racing, the new TLX GT will move Acura in the top category of the Pirelli World Challenge, facing competition, which includes the Cadillac CTS-V, Audi R8 LMS, Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Viper, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes SLS, Nissan GTR, Porsche 911 and Ferrari 458.

The all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 made its official debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show as the industry’s first mid-sized sedan with a standard nine-speed automatic transmission. Featuring the new face of the Chrysler brand, 2015 Chrysler 200 will carry a price tag of just $21,700 (excluding $995 destination charge).
According to the American manufacturer now owned by Fiat, the 2015 Chrysler 200 has a muscular yet soulful presence and embodies a strong, sculptured exterior. The vehicle comes with new grille and headlamps, which are integrated for the first time. Chrysler 200 comes with signature light pipe or available full-LED daytime running lamps (DRL), LED fog lamps and standard LED taillamps.
The 2015 Chrysler 200S features gloss black trim and accent pieces rather than the standard bright trim. Integrated dual exhausts are standard and the available 19-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels complete the look. At the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Volkswagen unveiled the Beetle Dune Concept, a Beetle with a cool offroad look or a Beetle that wants to be a crossover. Wearing an Arizona yellow/orange metallic paintwork, the Vw Beetle Dune Concept comes with flared black wheel arches, a chrome-plated underbody protection and side trim strips on top of the sills, which are based on the legendary running boards of the original Beetle in order to underline the classy and sporty impression.
The vehicle was designed for those who love sandboarding or skiing. The skis are mounted to the outside of the trunk lid. To do this, the outer parts of the rear spoiler swivel; the skis are then placed in the spoiler, then it is closed to clamp them in place.
At the top, the skis slide into a receptacle in the specially developed roof spoiler, where they are secured by an 0.8-inch-wide belt.
