Updated 2018 Nissan 370Z now available with new infotainment unit, red metallic paint

The 370Z is one of Nissan’s oldest two-door models. It was first introduced to us back in 2009 and this year, the Japanese automaker finally gave it an upgrade for the 2018 model year to give it a much-needed contemporary finish.

Naturally, it will get exterior and interior changes, as well as some technological upgrades. For instance, the door handles and the rear bumper fascia will now be finished in black. Furthermore, the headlights will be getting a darker tint treatment similar to the rear combination lights on the outgoing model, which used to only be available on the Nismo model.

2018 Nissan 370Z will now be riding on a set of 19-inch alloy wheels instead of the 18-inch set found in its predecessor. As you can see in the photo, the Nissan model is finished in a Red Metallic exterior paint that is now an option that customers can select.

2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo Test Drive: The Four Wheels Japanese Warrior

How the new 2015 Nissan 370Z NISMO made its global debut is quite unusual as its arrival at ZDAYZ came as a surprise. Everyone was astonished as it was unveiled at this yearly event attended by those who either own or are fans of Nissan, Datsun and NISMO vehicles.

The mood at the gathering turned into a frenzy when the new 370Z NISMO model was shown and especially when its specs were announced. Aside from the improvements inside and outside, it came with a broader lineup that includes new 370Z NISMO Tech grade as well as both 6-speed manual and 7-speed automatic transmissions.

Nissan Chief Planning Officer and Executive Vice President Andy Palmer said that the decision to have its world debut in front of this crowd composed of its “most loyal and enthusiast owners” was only fitting because the brand considers NISMO to be the “heart and soul” of its performance whether it’s driving on the track or on the road.

Black Friday was drift day with Hoonigan and Nissan 370Z Coupe

Black Friday is typically a special day to go shopping. For drift fans, however, it was a special day to watch some spectacular drifts done by champion drift drivers. On that day, Hoonigan and Nissan flocked to the abandoned Hawthorne Mall near Los Angeles to perform some awe-inspiring drifts that left fans mesmerized.

Through Hoonigan's "Black Friday" and Nissan's "Black Friday 360 Experience, people witnessed the drifting performances of two-time Formula Drift Champion Chris Forsberg and Ryan Tuerck in their 1000 hp Nissan 370Z's. In particular, the Black Friday 360 Experience had some scary yet amazing moments.

One of these was when Forsberg swerved the back of the Nissan 370Z on the ledge of a 30-foot drop. He remarked that while he could mentally block out the drop, he was really concerned about the surface, which was dusty and was made of polished concrete.

Senner Tuning offers a modification package for the Nissan 370Z that enhances both its technical and aesthetic aspects. The Nissan 370Z already boasts of having a classic sports car combination – a balanced chassis and rear wheel drive – that leads to driving bliss. But Senner Tuning thought that it could still be given a boost.

It gave the vehicle’s 3.7 liter naturally aspirated engine a port air filter with a cold air intake, a high-performance exhaust system made of stainless steel with special catalytic converters and an ECU remap.

The stock car’s powerplant delivers 332 hp and 366 Nm but after Senner Tuning modified it, the car now has an output of 365 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Replacing the car’s standard suspension is a KW coilover suspension that offers superior handling.

To celebrate 40 years of the Nissan Z in North America, the Japanese carmaker is creating a limited production version of the MY2010 Nissan 370Z Coupe -- the 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition. It all started 40 years ago on October 22, 1969, when the Datsun 240Z made its debut in the continent. Prior to that, sports cars in North America were imported from either the United Kingdom or Germany, making them expensive and unreliable.

Thus, sports cars bore an image usually shunned by most consumers, even the wealthy ones. Then came the Datsun 240Z, and consumers were shocked and awed by the fact that the sports car was not what they expected. It was imported from Japan, yet it performs like a Porsche and looks like a Jaguar.

Yet, its price – starting at $3,626 -- and reliability is typically Nissan. Auto buyers were shocked, as there had been no vehicle like the 240Z before. Debuting for the 1970 model year, the 240Z arrived as a closed coupe body, diverging from the convention back then -- open-top sports cars.

Nissan's 370Z 40th Anniversary Edition, which will be limited to 1,000 units and will go on sale in early spring 2010, is priced from US$38,860. The limited edition was created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Datsun 240Z.

The edition is based on the 370Z Touring model equipped with Sport Package and 6-speed manual transmission but will be given unique special equipment.

Along with the standard 370Z Touring and Sport Package features -- including SynchroRev Match, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, Nissan Sport Brakes, 19-inch Rays forged aluminum-alloy wheels and viscous limited-slip differential -- the 40th Anniversary Edition adds a unique, premium "40th Quartz" exterior color and special red leather-appointed interior.

Even as deliveries of Nissan's special 40th Anniversary Edition of the 370Z are set to start early next year in Japan and the US, the carmaker has yet to decide if UK consumers will get the chance to own one as well.

The sports car was launched on the eve of the Tokyo Motor Show in October to commemorate the Datsun 240Z, the first Z-car to go on sale in October 1969.

The Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary also commemorates the history of one of Japan's first sports cars.

The California-based tuning firm Stillen has launched a supercharger kit for the 2010 Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37. With this package, Nissan 3.7-liter V-6s is able to generate 515 hp. Stillen's engineers made sure that the engine could handle the power.

The internals are actually already strong enough to take the extra boost, but there was a need for the cooling system to be boosted to maintain a normal operating temperature for the engine.

Stillen achieved its goal with the use of an air-to-water intercooler integrated into the new high-flow cast aluminum intake manifold, along with additional oil and transmission coolers.

An all new Nismo-enhanced 370Z will be launched by Nissan this coming June highlighting a more potent variant of the regular 3.7-liter V6 unit and a skew of external and performance revisions.

Derived from the Japanese S-Tune model, the 370Z was designed in the US in partnership with Autech, a Japanese tuner. The car is available in one totally complete model, with no options, with a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission along with the SynchroRev Match feature which controls automatically and adapts powerplant speed of the next gear position, basically "blipping" the throttle for a smooth gear shifting experience.

Alpina is releasing a new limited edition model that is essentially a more powerful and more appealing re-creation of the BMW 4 Series. This is the new BMW Alpina B4 S Bi-Turbo Edition 99, which would be sold either as a convertible and coupe versions, with deliveries set next year. As its name indicates, only 99 examples of the Edition 99 will be built.

This new BMW Alpina B4 S Biturbo Edition 99 is a limited edition model of the Alpina B4 S, which was derived from the BMW 4 Series. However, the B4 S is even more powerful and more dynamic than the high performance iteration of the 4 Series – the M4 Coupe. The Coupe version of the Edition 99 can be availed either as rear-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive (left-hand drive only). The Convertible model of the Edition, meanwhile, is configured as a rear-wheel drive.

While the 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged engine of the M4 delivers 431 hp of output, the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six mill inside the B4 S offers up to 440 hp (324 kW). It also delivers 442 lb.-ft. (660 Nm) of torque, allowing the B4 S to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.2 seconds for the standard rear-wheel-drive configuration, or 3.9 seconds with the all-wheel drive version.

The 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas is about to start and Nissan won't itself be outdone by other carmakers. In fact, Nissan will be gracing the 2018 SEMA Show with five one-off vehicles, including a 400-hp Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 that combines the latest technology with the Z heritage aesthetics.

Leading the charge for the Japanese carmaker is the Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 project car that combines a number of OEM, aftermarket and bespoke fabricated parts. A track-only project car, the Project Clubsport 23 makes use of performance parts that have been tested and developed in Motorsports, as sourced from most respected suppliers. As Nissan Motorsports and MA Motorsports intended, the Project Clubsport 23 is an ongoing parts development platform, which means its looks might be different months from the 2018 SEMA Show.

The Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 was based on a 2012 Nissan 370Z NISMO deprived of its original 350-hp 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine. In its stead is a factory 400-hp 3.0-liter VR30DDTT twin-turbo V6 mill. The main challenge in the project car was how to mate a VR30DDTT engine to the 370Z NISMO's six-speed manual transmission – something that has never been done before. To achieve this MA Motorsports developed a new clutch disc, cover and flywheel assembly and installed a NISMO GT LSD Pro-Carbon two-way differential cooled by an MA Motorsports Differential Cooler.
