October 2019 is an important month for Nissan. It marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary 240Z, which is the original Z model from the Japanese carmaker. As part of the celebrations, Nissan is planning to unveil a new Z car – in prototype form -- at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, which coincides with the 50th year of the very first Z model.
This was basically confirmed by Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s Senior Vice President for Global Design, during an interview with Whichcar.com.au. Before this confirmation, there had been rumors that Nissan is planning a replacement for the 370Z, which has been in production since nearly 10 years ago. This decade-old two-seater rear-wheel-drive coupe is considered as one of the oldest sports car available in the market. A replacement would hardly surprise anyone, but back then, Nissan had yet to confirm anything.
During an interview with Whichcar.com.au, Albaisa remarked that is a huge pressure in creating a new Z car, adding that he is completely excited that he is in the position to work on the newest Z model. His statement essentially confirmed the rumors and the possibility of a new Z car. This also confirmed that no less than Nissan’s Senior Vice President for Global Design is involved in the project. Nonetheless, many are thrilled that the 370Z won't be continued as another version – instead a new Z car is really on the way. Expect a new Z prototype at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show.Read the entire article Nissan design chief confirms 370Z successor is on the works
The 370Z is one of Nissan’s oldest two-door models. It was first introduced to us back in 2009 and this year, the Japanese automaker finally gave it an upgrade for the 2018 model year to give it a much-needed contemporary finish.
Naturally, it will get exterior and interior changes, as well as some technological upgrades. For instance, the door handles and the rear bumper fascia will now be finished in black. Furthermore, the headlights will be getting a darker tint treatment similar to the rear combination lights on the outgoing model, which used to only be available on the Nismo model.
2018 Nissan 370Z will now be riding on a set of 19-inch alloy wheels instead of the 18-inch set found in its predecessor. As you can see in the photo, the Nissan model is finished in a Red Metallic exterior paint that is now an option that customers can select.Read the entire article Updated 2018 Nissan 370Z now available with new infotainment unit, red metallic paint
Nissan has unveiled the 370Z Nismo, the newest Nismo-tuned vehicle. This summer, expect the Nissan 370Z coupe to go on sale with a variety of revisions that are meant to make it a more focused performance tool. The power output of the 3.7-litre V6 engine was given a boost from 324bhp to 335bhp, while torque was improved by an equivalent figure.
Furthermore, torque will be lower down the rev range compared to the standard car. Nissan hasn’t made any claims with regards to performance but it’s believed that throttle response was also improved. The model was also fitted with an aerodynamic bodykit that permits the 370Z Nismo to generate the same downforce as a Nissan GT-R.
Included in the aerodynamic styling changes are a large rear diffuser with twin integrated exhausts, fixed rear wing, wider side skirts and a new front end with a splitter. It gets new 19in alloys covered with wider 245/40 tyres at the front while 285/35s are used at the rear. Bridgestone made a bespoke tyre compound just for this model.Read the entire article Nissan upgrades the 370Z Nismo for the 2013MY
Nissan's design boss Shiro Nakamura said that the 2015 Nissan Z is in development and is at its early phase. He told Inside Line that the new Z would leaner, would weigh less, and is targeted at a wider audience. He also shared that a concept version of the car is also being developed.
It’s possible that the new Z concept will be introduced at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show at the earliest. It’s assumed that a lighter Nissan Z would offer better gas mileage than the existing version. The EPA said that the 2013 Nissan 370Z is capable of returning 19 mpg in city driving and 26 mpg on the highway. The 370Z coupe has a curb weight of 3,314 pounds.
The current 370Z hasn’t been as successful as the 2002 350Z, which revitalizes the Z car’s image and had impressive sales in the U.S., Japan and Europe. Nakamura said that the next one needs to have a “stronger impact." He believes that this can’t be achieved by boosting its size since it’s already at its maximum size and instead, it has to be leaner and lighter. The new model features a down-sized engine, most likely a four-cylinder turbo instead of today's 3.7-liter V6.Read the entire article 2015 Nissan Z will weigh less and target a wider audience

It gave the vehicle’s 3.7 liter naturally aspirated engine a port air filter with a cold air intake, a high-performance exhaust system made of stainless steel with special catalytic converters and an ECU remap.
The stock car’s powerplant delivers 332 hp and 366 Nm but after Senner Tuning modified it, the car now has an output of 365 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Sales of sports cars have been so low in the first four months of 2010 that there's a risk that we may be saying goodbye to these sports cars for good, according to Bill Visnic of Auto Observer.
Fans worldwide got excited when Nissan revived the Z car and when Mazda created another rotary-powered sports car. Unfortunately, the excitement didn't translate to an increase in sales.
For instance, Nissan revealed that only 952 coupes and convertibles of the 370Z were sold in April, and only 3,419 were sold for the first four months of 2010. This represents a 34 percent drop from 2009. Meanwhile, sales of the Chevrolet Corvette suffered as well. In fact, the company has just had its worst sales year in 50 years.Read the entire article Weak sales might kill cars such as Mazda RX-8 and Nissan 370Z
German carmaker Volkswagen is now making the latest evolution of the new Volkswagen Golf GTI -- the new Golf GTI TCR. First unveiled as a concept at the annual GTI meeting in Worthersee, Austria, the new Golf GTI TCR is touted to be the most hardcore, most powerful and the fastest Golf GTI ever. Interested customers in Germany can now order the new Golf GTI TCR at a starting price of EUR38,950 (around $44,356) including VAT.
The new Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR is basically the street going version of the same-named racing car that won the international TCR racing series two times. It is powered by a version of the carmaker’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is tuned to deliver up to 286 hp (213 kW) of max output. Power is sent to the wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission – the only option -- with a limited-slip front differential.
With this amount of power, the new Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR is capable of sprinting from nil to 62 miles per hour (100 km/h) in just 5.6 seconds, on its way to a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas is about to start and Nissan won't itself be outdone by other carmakers. In fact, Nissan will be gracing the 2018 SEMA Show with five one-off vehicles, including a 400-hp Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 that combines the latest technology with the Z heritage aesthetics.
Leading the charge for the Japanese carmaker is the Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 project car that combines a number of OEM, aftermarket and bespoke fabricated parts. A track-only project car, the Project Clubsport 23 makes use of performance parts that have been tested and developed in Motorsports, as sourced from most respected suppliers. As Nissan Motorsports and MA Motorsports intended, the Project Clubsport 23 is an ongoing parts development platform, which means its looks might be different months from the 2018 SEMA Show.
The Nissan Motorsports Project Clubsport 23 was based on a 2012 Nissan 370Z NISMO deprived of its original 350-hp 3.7-liter VQ37VHR engine. In its stead is a factory 400-hp 3.0-liter VR30DDTT twin-turbo V6 mill. The main challenge in the project car was how to mate a VR30DDTT engine to the 370Z NISMO's six-speed manual transmission – something that has never been done before. To achieve this MA Motorsports developed a new clutch disc, cover and flywheel assembly and installed a NISMO GT LSD Pro-Carbon two-way differential cooled by an MA Motorsports Differential Cooler.Read the entire article 2018 SEMA Show: Nissan to display five one-off vehicles including a 370Z Project Clubsport 23

The only hybrids that automotive customers can get now from Porsche are its Panamera four-door saloon and its Cayenne sports utility vehicle. While the German sports car maker has confirmed that it would build a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 sports car, that won't happen in the near term. For those who can’t wait for Porsche to offer a 911 hybrid, Vonnen Performance is offering to convert your sports car into one.
Porsche’s main reason for not offering a hybrid version of the 911 is that the German company still doesn’t believe that the current battery technology is on par with its expectations for its venerated sports car. But with the rapid pace that the battery technology is growing, that could happen in the next few years. Porsche chief executive Oliver Blume had said that a 911 hybrid may arrive on the mid-cycle refresh of the 992 generation, which should happen by around 2022 or so.
Because Porsche won't do a 911 hybrid now, Vonnen Performance is offering to do so for 911 models built between 2012 and 2016. This also applies for other Porsche offerings currently not having a hybrid version, like the Boxster and the Cayman. The conversion kit and the entire setup would cost a Porsche owner around $75,000.Read the entire article Vonnen Performance is offering to convert Porsche 911 into a hybrid sports car for $75,000

BMW M GmbH is getting things all hyped up leading to the impending launch of its BMW X3 M sports activity vehicle and the BMW X4 M sports activity coupe. In an effort to make things more excited and make prospective customers think more about the new X3 M and X4 M, BMW has decided to let the public view their respective prototypes as they tackled the Nurburgring.
BMW’s high performance unit calls the event as the first official presentation of the new BMW X3 M and the BMW X4 M. However, the event can’t be called an official unveiling, the as both M versions of the X3 and X4 were both heavily camouflaged, and BMW M didn’t really provide more details – especially their actual specs – about these new high performance models. Indeed, a presentation is really the most appropriate word to describe the event.
The official presentation of the new BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M, which series development has already been kicked off, took place during the DTM racing weekend at the Nrburgring (September 7 to 9, 2018). During the official presentation, BMW M had prototypes of the BMW X3 M and the BMW X4 M test driven on the circuit.
