For the VIPs that want their car to provide the well-known luxurious interior but also zero emissions for the environment, Nissan unveiled the e-NV200 VIP Concept. The well-known e-NV200 received a two-tone exterior paint but the interior is the one that needs to be highlighted. Why? The seats are located behind the sliding door which means that the you can easily access the interior and receive an impressive 670 mm legroom. Behind the seats, there is also room for luggage, which makes the concept ideal for business travelers at airport transfers.
The rear passengers also get a 21.5-inch DSP monitor which can display movies or other images from any other digital device such as a smartphone, laptop or tablet. Rear passengers are treated like VIPs and receive a fridge as well as an individual reading lamp.Read the entire article Nissan e-NV200 VIP Concept previews a zero emission future for businessmen
Nissan is offering an across-the-board five-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty on its NV commercial vehicle line, replacing the three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty and its three-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. The warranty upgrade also covers all sold and unsold 2014 models.
Phil O’Connor, Nissan director of marketing for light commercial vehicles remarked that the warranty extension would assure potential customers that its commercial trucks are durable and reliable, according to Automotive News.
“We have to give the customer a reason to try something new,” O’Connor said, noting that since Nissan is relatively new in the segment, it to make a bold move with the warranty upgrade. Nissan only entered the light commercial truck business in the United States in 2011, offering full-sized NV 1500, 2500 and 3500 vans.Read the entire article Nissan upgrades across-the-board warranty on NV commercial vehicle line
British Gas has successfully ended its six-month winter trial of 28 Nissan e-NV200 vans and has placed immediate order for 50 units, with 50 more bound for delivery by the end of the calendar year. The nation-wide pilot of 28 vans is part of British Gas’ commitment of making 10 percent of its fleet of 13,000 home service vans are all-electric by 2017.
The six-month pilot that started in November 2013 had Nissan and British Gas collaborate with Hitachi Capital Commercial Vehicle Solutions to manage the fleet operations and Gateshead College to train drivers in how to drive the e-NV200. Hitachi Capital will provide funding for the purchase as well as manage the fleet of all-electric vehicles.
During the trial, the 28 e-NV200s covered over 60,000 miles between them. The pilot was launched to evaluate how the vans performed in winter conditions during typical British Gas home services daily usage patterns. Paul Kidd, a British Gas Service & Repair engineer, remarked that the Nissan e-NV200 made driving between customer’s homes “a little bit easier.”Read the entire article British Gas orders 100 Nissan e-NV200 electric vans after six-month pilot
Nissan has presented the Nissan NV200 and the e-NV200 concept as Barcelona’s next generation taxi, paving the way for zero emission vehicles in Spain as well as boosting local production in the area for the automotive sector. The presentation of the new Barcelona NV200 taxi and of the future model for New York was attended by Barcelona mayor Xavier Trias and deputy mayor Antoni Vives.
It was also attended by Jordi Vila, Fleet and Commercial Vehicle general manager at Nissan Europe, and Francisco Sauco, Fleet and Commercial Vehicle manager at Nissan Iberia. The NV200, a new-generation compact van, is well-suited for a wide variety of uses for customers not only in Barcelona and New York, but also around the world.
Nissan first rolled out the NV200 in Japan and Europe in 2009, and has since made the model available in over 40 countries, including China, India, and Indonesia. Nissan has been lending the e-NV200 to companies like FedEx and Coca-Cola to get feedback about the emissions-free delivery van as a delivery vehicle before it starts selling in late 2013 or early 2014. Nissan said that the all electric cargo van sent to Coca-Cola Central Japan Co., Ltd., will be used as a regional sales vehicle in Yokohama.
The van will be charged overnights to test if one night of charging is enough for daily use. The e-NV200 uses the all-electric powertrain found in the Nissan Leaf. This powertrain is then used on Nissan’s NV200 utility vehicle. Nissan will retrieve the companies’ comments about the e-NV200 so that it could still make modifications before it goes on sale.
"Providing a large, multi-functional interior space to both business and private users, the e-NV200 commercial EV will deliver innovation in the commercial vehicle market and further Nissan’s leadership in the EV market. Combining the advanced powertrain of the Nissan LEAF with the innovative and practical NV200 base vehicle will not only deliver zero CO2 emissions, but also superior acceleration and quietness. In addition, e-NV200 has class-leading levels of operating costs, one of the most critical factors for businesses using commercial vehicles." said the press release.Read the entire article Coca-Cola starts testing the Nissan e-NV200 electric van
Nissan is out to prove itself as a global leader in zero-emission mobility by combining the best features of its two multi-award winning vehicles -- Nissan LEAF and Nissan NV200 – to create the Nissan e-NV200 concept panel van. Nissan gave the e-NV200 concept panel van its international debut at the ongoing 64th Hanover Motor Show 2012, giving the public a preview of what to expect when the production version is rolled out possibly next year.
The e-NV200 concept panel van boasts of a cutting-edge all-electric drivetrain based on the advanced laminated lithium-ion battery and electric motor that powers the Nissan LEAF. This provides the e-NV200 with a driving range and performance comparable to Nissan LEAF. This will allow drivers to recharge the battery of their e-NV200 panel vans to 80 percent capacity in just 30 minutes for a minimal downtime, owing to its Quick Charge capability.
The e-NV200’s all-electric drivetrain will also be much cheaper to operate with lower fuel costs and reduced regular maintenance. An operator of e-NV200 could use the power stored in the battery to run electric tools and equipment up to 6,000W. This means that an e-NV200 operator could transform a suitably equipped panel van into a mobile restaurant or a mobile workshop.Read the entire article Nissan unveils e-NV200 Concept at 2012 Hanover Motor Show

Nissan revealed that its plant in Barcelona will start to produce the e-NV200, a 100% electric compact van, in the 2013 Financial Year.
