How would you like to see “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” up close? Well, Nissan created a limited edition Rogue for this year’s much awaited film. Nissan has just released a video about the Rogue Warrior that shows why this prototype is a good choice for those harsh winter conditions. The release is considered fitting as Canada is just starting with its major snowfall which marks the start of a possible severe winter.
In the video, the Rogue Warrior is equipped with snow tracks and shows just what it can do by going through what looks like 40 centimeters of new snow and then climbing up a 30-degree slope to reach a ski resort in the northern part of Quebec. Going back to the video, it starts with a group of snowboarders and skiers waiting impatiently for what appears to be a chairlift moving slowly.
An observant snowboarder, also in line, notices that the people are getting frustrated and makes an early departure. Nissan Motor Corp. has yet to announce its plans for overseas sales but it is thinking about introducing a Rogue crossover hybrid in the United States, according to Nobusuke Toukura, the vehicle's chief engineer. Nissan had recently added this vehicle to its lineup in Japan.
The Rogue, which is also known as the X-Trail in certain markets, will use the brand’s one-motor, two-clutch hybrid system that’s powered by a lithium ion battery. In Japan, the X-Trail Hybrid is predicted to make up as much as 40% of the nameplate's sales.
Toukura said that within the next five years, hybrid demand in the U.S. is likely to rise as emissions rules become stricter. The automaker wants to already have this hybrid in place. Renault-Nissan plans to increase its shipment of Nissan Rogue crossovers from South Korea to the United States by 38 percent this year to cater to increasing demand in North America. The alliance had planned to build 80,000 US-bound Rogues at Renault’s site in South Korea, but demand has tipped them to build 30,000 more to 110,000 units.
Nissan commenced production of the Rogue crossover in South Korea in 2014, which has allowed Renault Samsung, its partner’s local unit, to use the idle capacity at its South Korean plant. Renault Samsung saw its local sales dwindle by almost half in 2012, no thanks to increasing competition from Hyundai Motor Co. and German carmakers.

The 2015 Nissan Rogue promises to have the lowest starting price in its segment as the new SUV will start at $22,790 in the United States. This means a $300 increase over the 2014MY. Each model will be powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that will deliver 170 hp and will be botled to an advanced Xtronic transmission with Sport and Eco Mode switches.
The front-wheel drive Xtronic-equipped models will return a fuel economy of 33 mpg on the highway, 26 mpg in the city and 28 mpg combined. Nissan Motor Co. has invited Canadian journalists to Quebec's Laurentian mountains to give them the chance to be behind the wheel of the all-new Rogue and take it on a spin on the ice-covered Mecaglisse circuit in Notre Dame-de-la-Merci. "There is no better place, even in Canada," remarked Christian Meunier, president of Nissan Canada.
He said that Nissan Canada was looking for a special location to show the journalists “what it is like to drive the Rogue in the true Canadian winter." The Mecaglisse circuit, part of a purpose-built, 700-acre all-season motorsports facility, could provide a good representation of the most extreme challenges in terms of road traction that any driver could encounter. The ice-covered circuit is an ideal place to highlight the advantages of Rogue's advanced all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
"It is not only just about AWD, the wheels powering down. Nissan will market both the next-generation 2014 Rogue crossover and the old-generation 2013 Rogue crossover in 2014, mainly because it wanted to continue to benefit from the strong sales of the outgoing model. Sales of the 2013 Rogue have been rising even as the automaker is preparing the launch of the 2014 model.
From the start of the year until August, Nissan recorded 113,316 Rogue units sold. This is 16% higher than the same period last year. August 2013 sales were 37% higher than those in August 2012. Nissan’s plant in Smyrna, Tenn., will build the redesigned Rogue. It’s set to start selling in the middle of November with a base price of $23,350 (which includes destination costs).
This January, dealers will start to receive the old-generation Rogue Select, which is imported from Japan and will have a base price of around $2,000 lower. Nissan product spokesman Dan Passe said that the final price hasn’t been determined yet. Nissan has unveiled a new version of its Rogue compact sports utility vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show, simultaneous with the unveiling of the same vehicle at its Farmington Hills tech center. With a starting MSRP of $22,310, the new Nissan Rogues are a bit more expensive than the models last year. The Rogue is available in two trims and with three option packages. The base model of the 2013 Rogue will not be changed. Meanwhile, the Special Edition package and Premium Edition package will receive several new upgrades.
2013 Special Edition package will have the following new features: a Bluetooth hands-free phone system and two more speakers for a total of six. To make the Renault-Nissan alliance more competitive, $160 million will be invested in Renault's South Korean plant to produce 80,000 Nissan Rogue vehicles. By 2014, Nissan will begin to produce and export the crossover to the U.S. Nissan hopes that with this move, it will alleviate the effects of the strong yen, cope with the rise in demand, and take advantage of a South Korea-U.S. free trade deal.
Because of plunging sales experienced by Renault Samsung, the automaker’s South Korean unit, it has had to cut its output in the last few months. The company said that the Busan factory will have a 300,000 capacity and is set to produce around 180,000 vehicles for 2012.

Nissan has released the pricing for the 2012 Rogue, which is expected to soon arrive in dealerships throughout the country. In a move to cut exposure to the high Japanese yen, Nissan Motor Co. will transfer production of its Rogue crossover from Japan to its Smyrna, Tenn., assembly plant.
Thereafter, the carmaker aims to build more than 100,000 Rogues annually at the Smyrna plant in 2013, which is the year scheduled for the vehicle’s redesign. Chairman of Nissan Americas, Carlos Tavares, recently revealed the plan before the Society of Automotive Analysts conference in Detroit.

Nissan North America unveiled today the redesigned 2011 Nissan Rogue. Set to make its live debut on Saturday, July 31st at the 23rd Annual International Z Car Convention in Nashville, the new car receives a new look inside and out including exterior, interior, comfort and convenience, and audio and entertainment system enhancements.
According to Nissan, the new 2011 Rogue will be offered in three trim levels: S, SV, S Krom Edition, and will go on sale beginning August 13th.

But if you were hoping to get the top-of-the-range version, it will cost at least $28,320, according to Nissan's North American division. We all know how men love their gadgets. Nissan takes advantage of that fact by introducing an accessorized version of its Rogue compact crossover that is expected to appeal to more male buyers. The Krom Rogue will go on sale on Dec. 9, with its two-wheel-driver version priced at about $23,000 and its four-wheel-drive priced at about $25,000.
That's a premium of $2,000 to $4,000 over models without accessories. The Krom versions are featured with an entirely new front end with a mesh grille, fog lights, rear spoiler, tinted glass, center exhaust pipes and 17-inch alloy wheels.
