Nissan will be unveiling an expansion of its Color Studio factory-personalization program at the 2015 LA Los Angeles Auto Show. Just a year ago, Nissan launched the program on the Nissan Juke sport cross. In the coming week, the program will also include the 2016 Versa Note.
Color Studio has allowed Juke owners to personalize their vehicle with exterior and interior accessories. As for the Versa Note Color Studio, Nissan will be making available, albeit individually, 13 exterior and interior accent accessories in six available vibrant colors -- Black, White, Red, Black-Purple, Orange and Carbon Fiber Look.
For instance, a Versa Note in Super Black finish can be personalized with red front lip finisher, door handles, mirror caps, rear hatch accent and rear roof spoiler as well as red-accented 15-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Moreover, the vehicle can be personalized with red speaker rings, kick plates and air vent rings.Read the entire article Nissan Color Studio personalization program to include 2016 Versa Note
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched a preliminary investigation into 360,000 of MY2012-2014 Nissan Versa, Versa sedan and Versa Note models after receiving four complaints that the tunnel carpet cover trim panel was trapping the edge of the driver's shoe, thereby interfering with the driver's ability to cut acceleration and to apply the brakes.
One complaint said that the driver attempted but could remove a foot from the gas pedal, since it was stuck. The driver said that the corner of a plastic panel wedged between the sole and leather upper of the work boots, preventing the customer to his/her foot off the gas pedal.
Nissan spokesman Steve Yaeger confirmed the preliminary investigation opened by the NHTSA, adding that the carmaker will be cooperating fully with it.Read the entire article NHTSA launches preliminary probe into 360,000 Versa models over unintended acceleration
The 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan made its official debut today ahead of the 2014 New York International Auto Show. The enhancements for the 2015MY are subtle comparing it with its predecessor and consist of larger headlights, standard chrome plating on the front grille as well as a more substantial looking fascia.
Moreover, we can see a new fog light finisher design, redesigned side mirrors for the SV and SL trim levels, with integrated turn signals for the SL. The SV models receive a new Versa Sedan-exclusive 15-inch V-spoke aluminum-alloy wheel design.
The big interior received a new center stack shape similar to the one found on the Versa Note, a revised meter display with white LED display (previous model featured orange illumination color) but also a new steering wheel fitted as standard with controls for the audio and Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System.Read the entire article 2015 Nissan Versa Sedan gears up for 2014 New York Auto Show
Nissan is launching its low-priced and fuel efficient Micra subcompact in Canada in April, as part of its bid to gain Canadian market share. The for-Europe styled Micra will try to take advantage of the fact that Canada’s more populous eastern provinces prefer European tastes in cars, remarked Nissan vice president for North American product planning.
The Micra will replace the low-selling American-styled Versa sedan. "The Versa sedan didn't do well in Canada and we are stopping it now, with the introduction of the Micra," Loing remarked. "The Micra will be more to their liking." Nissan said this month that the Micra will have starting manufacturer's suggested retail price of C$9,998 -- $1,900 less than the current Versa sedan in Canada.
The car will be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine providing 109 hp and 107 pounds-feet of torque. Loing said that Nissan is aiming to significantly improve its position in Canada, adding that part of the solution is to consider that Quebec and the eastern part represent a different kind of market, and “adjust to that difference."Read the entire article Nissan is replacing Versa with Micra in Canada

Nissan Motor Co. will deliver three of its new Versa Note hatchbacks in a box from Amazon.com in the next few days – a short-lived gimmick that is part of a larger promotion for the hatchback via the Web site. Nissan started selling the Versa Note this summer without doing a major national ad campaign, and is now giving $1,000 Amazon.com gift cards to the first 100 customers who purchase the car through an Amazon.com link to a Nissan dealer.
However, only three of those 100 buyers will receive their Notes packaged in giant Amazon.com boxes. Customers will receive a notification from the carmaker that their Notes are being delivered by Amazon.
Vinay Shahani, Nissan's director of marketing communications and media, remarked that they are trying “some new ideas," saying that the promotion is an experiment. He remarked that it is a way to “dip [their] toes into the idea of co-branding to build a buzz."Read the entire article 2014 Nissan Versa Note can be bought on Amazon.com
Nissan has been absent from late-night TV for over six years, and it is set to make a comeback with the launch of the new Versa Note. Nissan North America launched the new Versa Note this month, but is targeting a different set of buyers than the usual costumers for the Versa. Julie Lynch, Nissan's senior marketing manager for the model, said the carmaker is aiming the Versa Note towards more affluent entry-level buyers who have a penchant for outdoor activity.
While the Versa is targeting entry-level buyers in their 20s, the Versa Note is aiming for entry-level buyers in their early 30s. Likewise, the Versa Note is targeting couples, but not necessarily married ones, especially those with kids.
Lynch said the carmaker wants to pitch the Note at active-lifestyle consumers who are not limited by family obligations, especially those who demand for enough cargo room for carrying their camping gear, sports equipment, gardening supplies or music equipment.Read the entire article Nissan is returning to late-night TV with 2014 Versa Note ads
Nissan is introducing one of its first vehicles for the 2014 model -- the 2014 Nissan Versa Sedan. The 2014 Nissan Versa Sedan carries the same pricing as the 2013 model, and still boasts of having the lowest starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) in the United States for the third straight year at $11,990 for the 2014 Nissan Versa Sedan S.

Besides the Resonance Concept, Nissan also brought at the 2013 NAIAS the 2014 Versa Note, a vehicle that complements the Versa family, which includes the best selling entry sedan in the United States. Starting at $13,990 (MSRP), the new Versa Note will be offered in a range of well-equipped grade levels: S, S Plus and SV, along with top-of-the-line SL Packages.
Each model will be powered by the standard 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine delivering 109 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. The engine is bolted to a standard 5-speed manual transmission (S model only) or to a next-generation Xtronic CVT transmission. According to Nissan, the Versa Note will be capable to deliver a fuel economy of 40 mpg Highway, 31 mpg City and 35 mpg Combined for CVT-equipped models.
The design is not extraordinary, but for the amount of money that Nissan asks for the Versa Note you have everything you need, including a choice of eight exterior colors: Metallic Peacock, MorningSky Blue, Metallic Blue, Red Brick, Brilliant Silver, Magnetic Gray, Super Black and Aspen White.Read the entire article 2013 NAIAS: 2014 Nissan Versa Note introduced, priced from $13,990
At $11,990, the 2013 Nissan Versa Sedan has the lowest starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price in the United States. This is the second consecutive year that the Versa sedan was determined to be the most affordable. The 2013 Nissan Versa Sedan S doesn’t only offer outstanding value.
It also features a variety of popular features like standard 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with dual injector system and twin Continuously Variable Timing Control (CVTC), 5-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, 6-way adjustable driver's seat, and AM/FM/CD/Aux-in audio system. All 2013 Versa Sedan models that have the Xtronic CVT transmission currently return 40 miles per gallon Highway, better than the previous model’s 38 mpg Highway.
To get the additional two miles per gallon, the model has been given new low-rolling resistance tires, new air intake guide, new rear spoiler and rear wheel and underbody air deflectors.Read the entire article 2013 Nissan Versa priced at only $11,990
Nissan has updated the 2013 model year Versa sedan model with a reprogrammed continuously variable transmission (CVT) to achieve improved fuel efficiency as well as a four-speed automatic transmission option. It’s quite unexpected for Nissan to add a four-speed automatic option since it already provides a CVT automatic and a five-speed manual option.
However, the Versa sedan becomes more versatile since the CVT asks for a $2,130 premium compared to the standard five-speed manual. Meanwhile, the four-speed automatic will probably be sold with a $1,000 markup. When it comes to the reprogrammed CVT, Nissan claimed an increase of two mpg on the highway, raising the rating to 31 mpg city, 40 mpg highway.
The five-speed manual has a fuel economy rating of 27 mpg city, 36 mpg highway while the four-speed automatic is expected to offer 25 mpg city, 35 mpg highway. It appears that the CVT would be a better investment since the price premium will pay itself off two years in gas money.Read the entire article Nissan updates the Versa for the 2013MY
Nissan North America said that the 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback is priced $240 lower than the previous model. This year’s base model is priced at $15,140 (inclusive of a $760 destination charge). The base 2012 Versa hatchback has an added element of vehicle dynamic control. Also now offered as standard is Nissan's stability control system, which was only offered at a higher trim level at the previous model.
Other standard features include a four-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system, 15-inch wheels and antilock brakes. Further options include Nissan Intelligent Key that allows drivers to start the vehicle by pressing a button on the instrument panel, Bluetooth hands-free phone system, XM Satellite Radio, an in-dash 5-inch touch-screen navigation system and a six-speaker audio system with a USB input for iPods and other compatible devices.
The hatchback is powered by a new 122-hp, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that returns 26 mpg city/31 highway. This rating is the same as last year's model. The Versa sedan, which sells for $11,750, will start selling in early August. In the first half of the year in the U.S., Nissan sold 45,886 Versas, standing for a 16% drop from the same period last year.Read the entire article 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback priced from $15,140
As fuel prices are rising again, Nissan’s new 2012 Versa sedan is expected to benefit from the attention that consumers will be giving small cars. Just like the previous model of the Versa sedan, the new model boasts of offering a good value as it has a starting price of only $10,990.
But Nissan wants its entry-level model to surpass its rivals. The 2012 Versa will get navigation with a five-inch touch screen, satellite radio, Bluetooth, and an iPod/USB interface. In addition, Nissan made it more efficient by switching to a new front-wheel-drive global "V" platform.
The new chassis is 150 pounds lighter than the previous "B" platform of the outgoing car even if they have the same 102.4-inch wheelbase. This is due to a 20% reduction in components used. The wheelbase dimension is the same but the interior was redesigned to have more rear legroom that is bigger than some of its luxury models like the BMW 5-series, the Lexus LS 460, and the Mercedes-Benz E-class.Read the entire article 2012 Nissan Versa unveiled at the 2011 New York Auto Show
